The place was absolutely disgusting and not cleaned at all There was a crack pipe in the bed room 102 The place was infested with live and dead roaches

There was mothballs everywhere in the room all over the floor Theres bedbugs People selling crack out 104 and the manager was even buying crack DO NOT STAY HERE !

Eli Karasik

The bad – website claims breakfast, which is a lie They are approximately 25 years behind in routine maintenance No hangers, no bedside outlets, no coffee maker, only one pillow

The worse – the bathroom! I’m talking worse than most gas station bathrooms I used the toilet, out of desperation, but would NOT use that shower!

they continue to delete my reviews so i’ll keep this short if you’re looking for a hotel where you will be harassed by the front desk ladies for weeks on end after comparing about ROACHES, INSECTS & BED BUGS followed by a constant cigarette & marijuana smell? this is the place for you On top of housekeeping lazily doing their jobs while taking your personal belongings & using your bathrooms, Sue and Lisa entered my rented room without permission while i was not in the building (photo evidence included)

If you happen to book here, go to Bill, he is a sweetheart and the only one whom knows how to do his job correctly! i wouldn’t recommend super 8 or microtel in johnstown to my worst enemy this is a hotel sent straight from hell with workers to match it

Better than expected We usually head for hotels that are a little pricier as the accommodations are expected to also be nicer But location of this hotel was perfect for our needs

Bed and bathroom were surprisingly nice Room was clean and quiet (stay opposite the highway if it matters to you) Check-in staff was very helpful The real jewel was the attached bar and restaurant Kitchen management knows what they’re doing Nicely appointed, good menu options, and fantastic taste +presentation If the need arrives, no need to look further than this hotel

Rooms are spacious with excellent customer service Climate control is convenient for those traveling from areas with different average temperatures Parking is perfect, being that guest vehicles can be parked near the many exits

This parking accommodation makes coming and going much smoother for hotel guests It’s a pleasant place to stay with a state-of-the-art restaurant I’ll return when in town again!

I usually stay here once a year when I come up for a business meeting nearby It’s very clean, quiet, and comfortable Unfortunately, the outdoor pool is always closed this time of year

I get a free breakfast and the restaurant is convenient if I don’t want to drive although there are other restaurants in the area I stayed on the third floor this time The water pressure in the shower wasn’t spectacular but it was sufficient Plenty of hot water I would recommend staying here

First impression walking into hotel was that it was nice and clean The Staff was friendly However our room was not clean very well and our fridge did not work

The front desk worker was very understanding and switched us to a different room That room was much cleaner and smelled much better The rooms were small and the bed was not comfortable at all Not a good hotel to stay at for an extended period of time

C Medrano

Gave it a 4 stars because this hotel does not have laundry room We stayed for 6 days Thankfully there was a laundry place down the street but it’s really an inconvenience having to go out

Other than that very nice stay We got their suite room Very roomy, clean and comfortable for our long stay Friendly staff Location is great Several places to eat

Beth Seiler

The rooms were clean and comfortable, service was very friendly I would have rated it a five but it felt like some things were not as well maintained as they could have been And our keys didn’t work at first which was fine, but when I went back to the front desk to get new keys, I noticed other people there having the same issue

Is that just poorly trained staff or some other issue?

Talk about a historic treasure in the middle of an unexpected area of NY! Take a step back in time and experience castle living The room was wonderful and the bedding was super comfortable It was a beautiful hotel

Due to an unexpected situation we did not get to experience the gorgeous dining area but it was certainly pretty to look at while we were there

This is a cute little castle in the country side that is very quiet with large rooms and beds The place is kept clean (including bathrooms) and the staff is super friendly, however, don’t expect a normal hotel experience Starting with the check-in, the entrance is somewhere on the side and not in the front

It was hard to find it in the evening especially when you come with luggage The rooms are spacious and bathrooms are clean which was great! However, the night got too hot and the AC was disabled due to the fear of AC units freezing I don’t think its fair to keep it disabled in April/May because that isn’t freezing weather We could not sleep most of the night due to how hot it was and I would not have guessed that windows can be opened since we’re not used to this in hotels normally To add to this inconvenience, the telephones don’t have the ability to call the operator directly The property has regular landline phones and additional headsets are distributed in the rooms We have to call the hotel main number to reach the staff and I was in no position to do that in the middle of the nightAlso, the hotel doesn’t provide breakfasts and when asked, their response was to support local businesses around instead Maybe the restaurant should provide vouchers/coupons for us to use at these local businesses because the rooms aren’t cheap for such limited service All in all, while the staff is nice and friendly, if you have no reason to stay in this area/country side, I would definitely suggest to try another place because there are some inconveniences here and doesn’t help while traveling for business

There are a string of idiots that reside there full or part time and they are not only inconsiderate, but they scream at just about every car that passes by The speed limit is 5mph and I was doing the speed limit and multiple people reported me as speeding when I wasn’t When I spoke to the owner, she blindly took the side of the idiots without proof and would not listen and was extremely rude

(which caused me to respond rudely) I later found some other campers called her told her I was not speeding and yet, I still did not receive an appology or see her warn the idiots Many people throw loud drunken parties and keep everyone awake, which also turned out to include the owner I didn’t realize she was at the party when I complained about the noise and she became upset Now I know why, it was her party

This is the perfect small campground to spend a weekend for many of us that live in the area The prices are fare, there is a nice pool, a playground, a pond to take the kids fishing for sunfish, and they have regular events like DJs and fireworksMy family and I have been camping here at least 50 times over the years

I would recommend for anyone, but especially if you have kids

Why do we need instructions to clean up your room and bathroom in a hotel?????We were very frustrated with this hotel1st night we could sleep because AC made a tremendous noise Next morning although we informed at front desk, unfortunately when we arrived at night nobody fixed it and even worse

room and bathroom were not cleaned Hotel gave us a new roomThe 3rd day when we arrived at night, room and bathroom were not cleaned either Hotel explained that we should have left a tag giving instructions to housekeeper

Camille Townshend

Everyone who works there was extremely helpful and the room was cleanTiffiany Wilson the night time desk clerk went above and beyond my expectations to help us with our wheelchair bound son to make sure we had everything we needed She was very willing to stop by our room several times to bring up items we needed

She was a blessing on a very stressful night

My son had a business trip in the area and needed a place to stay during his conference I recommended Super 8, because I figured all he needs is a place to sleep and shower nothing fancy For our surprise this property turn out to be a very pleasant and well taken care one

It exceeded the expectations my son had It is clean, comfortable, smoking free, pet free, staff was very courteous and accommodating I will definitely recommend Amsterdam Super 8 to all future family members and friends coming to visit This property gets an A on my list

Management obviously has no pride in this hotel Our room was DIRTY! We stay in a lot of choice hotels, and this has been one of the worst The sheets seemed clean, but that was about it

I didn’t want to touch anything in the bathroom Not to mention, we paid for a non-smoking room and ours smelled like a casino! If we weren’t so tired, we would’ve left, but you gotta do what you gotta do on the road!I gave them 2 stars because I liked the light up mirror, and the sheets were soft!

No breakfast at 6:00 am Sign posted saying due to covid but this is just an excuse

On vacation and every other hotel had their breakfast Room had no washcloths or mat for floor This place just does the bare minimum Morning person was rude when I said I am diabetic and breakfast is very important Asked for some kind of discount since when we checked in the night worker said there would be breakfast Was told I would need to personally contact their manager for a possible discount I do not recommend this place too anyone
