I recently stayed here for a business trip Before I entered the lobby, a group of guests outside mentioned to me that I was about to check into “a jail” I let them know that I was happy about that because I was ready to lock down for the night! When I walked in, there were about 15 more guests in a heated argument with the clerk

What I gathered from the arguing was that they were being disrespectful to other guests and being loud Per the hotel policy, the clerk had let them know of the complaints Apparently they felt since they were occupying several rooms throughout the hotel, common courtesy and respect for other guests didn’t apply to themThe clerk (didn’t catch her name) checked me in and I went up to my room The room was cozy and super clean The free snacks and water were super appreciated The breakfast selection was great and was tasty! Overall, the hotel was very clean and everyone that I encountered as incredibly friendly I am very pleased to know that they take the comfort and peace of their guests seriously—hence the arguments from the disruptive group I encountered Because of that, I will be staying here again on my next business trip!

Had a late check in and was greeted by Lewis I travel often I’m a GM for IHG and Lewis hands down is the best FD agent I’ve encountered ever He is the definition of hospitality You dont get that often especially with how hard hospitality has been the past two years

Your washer was out and we needed it that night Other than that our stay was great Nice clean room and breakfast was great

K. Harris

The staff was very nice Breakfast was tasty and I liked the lobby area Newspapers were available and there was coffee as well

The hotel is showing signs of wear The floor was soft, like the boards under the carpet were sinking

My husband Bob & I were lucky enough to get into this park the first part of August, 2017 after getting on a waiting list the first part of this year I have had RV Resort Park Management experience for 5 years in South Texas & the last year, my husband Bob helped me also With that experience, I recognize what it takes to manage a park

I commend Kenneth & Anita Cones as Managers They are a terrific couple that take great pride in what they do This park is Very well managed They have the personality to make it what it takes The camp workers, David & Paula, are also terrific at their work I only wish I could have found such a great couple to help out when I was down south The owners should be very proud of all the above What a great place they have made this to stayBob & Charlotte Mayo

We worked as workampers throughout the summer of 2017 It was hot! The facilities are limited to a clubhouse and the residential lot, BUT the lot is large, fully enclosed, private, includes covered pad for the RV, and a two car carport/shed with storage that includes a washer/dryer hookupIf I were looking for a place to live in my RV I have never been to a better location

Athens is a typical small town, with limited entertainment and few special events, but the people are friendly, and shopping is reasonable We have met many that will be friends for life!

What a wonderful place to stay!!! The view of the lake and the ducks are a delight The tiny cabins are just beautiful, comfortable, and clean The check-in staff are so organized when you arrive

Big thank you to Tammy Anderson, Paula Smith, and Jenny Davis And not to forget the Cowboys in their Western Hats that were so helpful with escort to my cabin, getting luggage help, and making sure I new how to operate the controls for the A/C

On the high end of the best places I have stayed Front office polite and friendly Makes me feel like a real guest

Even the outside staff very friendly and helpful Park is well maintained and has pleasant sceneryOnly 1 suggestion is that they improve their waste management situation Trash overflows due to not having them empty regularly or not having multiple locationsOther than that one of the best places I stayed so far

Chelsey Callaway

When making a reservation, the lady on the phone was so nice and professional! Told her that we would be getting in most likely after midnight, so she left us a little envelope outside with our name on it which had directions and our spot number in it The park was so nice and quiet when we got there, we barely set up before it was just time for bed The whole time we were there, we just couldn’t believe that it was nice and quiet

The whole park is beautiful! Overall, wonderful stay, wonderful park! We will be back!

This hotel is “fine” The decor was a little off putting to me, but it’s clean enough and nice enough I’m not sure there is a better hotel in the area

The staff is nice and the bed was comfortable I was disappointed with the fitness room It’s very small and it would be hard for more than one person to be in there The rooms could definitely use some updating but overall, it’s okay I don’t usually stay at best westerns but I’ve never been at a hotel with such bad lighting They need a better standard for light temperatures Also the sofa in our room looked legit too gross to sit on

Absolutely loved our stay here! We stayed in site D2 on the water and it was magical Beautiful views Beautiful scenery

Right next to the swimming area and fishing pier The guests and the long term residents were all so friendly! We love this place and can’t wait to return! Freida, I will be calling you soon to book the site we want! Thank you for being so welcoming and kind!

Great park at a great price Stayed here three nights visiting friends in the area Nice sites with lots of trees

The best feature is they give you a nice bundle of free wood for your fire I would give it a five except the sites are basically dirt, no gravel, so it was a little dusty and if it rains probably muddy We did enjoy walking down by the lake and around the wooded park

Kailie Paparella

My husband and I travel the US, and live full time in our RV Needless to say we have stayed at a ton of RV parks We have been living at Shiloh On The Lake for 6 weeks and have had the best experience all around

Frieda, our now friend who works the front desk is one of the nicest, most accommodating people you will ever meet She always has the most beautiful smile on her face and makes you feel welcomed like you’re apart of her family One reason we will be coming back to stay is to pay a visit to lovely FriedaThe park is so maintained and absolutely gorgeous with its huge trees and beautiful lake I spent hours enjoying the view on the huge grass lawn during my stay 10/10 experience!

Beautiful location, settled on 22 acres, there are other cabins but they’re far enough away to not be bothered by noise, etc We had a great time, unplugging and just enjoying each other’s company Hot tub was great and cute setup for Valentines day with some treats left for us and decorations

Would not recommend My partner and I planned our day around being on time or in the area early and we were sent a text at 2:11PM that our cabin was ready As we use the code that is my phone number around 3:10PM to get in, we quickly notice the sheets are torn off the bed and the cabin had not been cleaned yet

So we sit outside as they clean it for 20 minutes hoping they aren’t rushing while simultaneously receiving some texts that our checkout was moved to 11:30 from 11AM I responded by telling them how unprofessional the situation was and was refunded $25 of my one night stay If that wasn’t enough of a sub-par experience I was told by the cleaning staff that the wood, fire starters, etc would be free and that I could use all I needed I already planned to use my own wood but did use 2 of their fire starters I received a bill for $4 for these Now don’t get me wrong, $4 is no big deal, but the complete lack of communication and among the Getaway teams is mind blowing and I was not going to write a review until the $4 charge email came through this evening For a company as large and well known as Getaway I honestly would have expected a full night’s refund at this point My one night was only about $120 all-in and would hope making a customer’s experience amazing would be worth more than $120 but here we are My girl and I had an alright time but that bad start really set the tone for the whole trip Still waiting to hear back on my $4 refund; I wanted to just snag all firewood to take home since he said it was free but I refrained…

The view is great, and the cabin is really nice However, if you go with a group of friends and decide to get the double cabin, I would not recommend going in the SUMMER It was really hot

I went here 2 nights and 3 days, our first cabin was super hot because the AC did not cool the cabin down, However, their staff member was amazing They asked me whether I want a refund or move to another cabin The other cabin was cooler (it’s still hot, I think because of the summer not the AC) Overall, I have a great time with my friends I will go here again in the winter

Ruby Segura

My family and I really enjoyed our stay! It was great to wake up in a new environment so close to nature! The staff members were so helpful and nice throughout our whole trip! We got a 2 bed cabin,it was very clean and organized including the bathroom No bugs inside our cabin aside from the ocassional ant but that’s it The walking trails were nice to explore together

Overall a really Beautiful and Fun Experience! Thank you!
