We booked a wheelchair accessible room because our daughter is in a wheelchair The room was narrow and had barely room for her small chair, I can’t imagine anyone being in an adult sized chair staying comfortably here There were no rails on the tub or shower, if someone needs their chair to shower this will not work for them

The room was grubby and slapped together, literally screws showing on boards that were on the outside of the tub The breakfast was not something I was willing to eat, I didn’t trust it, the bagels were stale and the eggs looked like they were sitting out since the day before I opted for a protein shake I happened to have We needed to do laundry and though the washer worked well the dryer did not dry our clothes at all We had to check out with all wet clothesOur room did allow for a large dog so that was nice and the staff was very friendly, all of them I just think the rooms need some help from management and someone from the Ada to come by and review those accessible roomsThe upside

Room was nice but they don’t have the air conditioning on, so you arrive to an overly warm room Not nice in the desert! And we paid enough for you to afford itCinnamon rolls ran out by 7am

This seems to be a recurring issue with all your hotels Order more or pace the distribution time so all guest have the option over the entire breakfast period!!! Also I eat oatmeal, never enough original flavor available and never any topping like nuts or raisins

After driving 400 miles we checked out the lodging on the main street of Barstow, we opted for the short drive to the Holiday Inn Express next to the outlet stores on Hwy 15 We felt much safer and enjoyed the quiet night well away from the highway The staff, room and breakfast were all excellent

We did not shop the outlet stores as we had another 400 miles to drive

The facility is very attractive, staff is nice Breakfast was good and had a selection of items Very clean

Our room was on the first floor – great access to coffee and the lobby Loved the new “hard” floorsno carpet in the room But, it turns out that all the rooms have t hard surface flooring That’s not so good on multiple floors We could hear the people above us rolling their suitcases, moving a chair and walking around The walls between rooms seem a little thinwe went to bed early after 7 hours of driving and could hear the kids and parents in the room next to us until after 10 pm I would stay there again but ask for a room on the top floor

Melissa Rodriguez-Hill

I read ALL the reviews, always Headed to the Sequoia National Park and needed a place to rest for the night with the family The Hotel was very clean, clean smell, bathrooms, beds & room

All clean! Rooms were spacious and had 2 Queen Beds (not full) Breakfast was great! Eggs, bacon, sauage, waffles, fresh fruit, breads Great selection! Easy check in & check out Tiled, wood-looking floors are a plus for meWould highly recommend staying here My family enjoyed our stay

We were only passing through Barstow and I didn’t want to spend much, but checking reviews, I decided this might be worth spending just a bit more than I wanted to It was worth every $ They were obviously under staffed but were still extremely friendly and accommodating

Some people complained about sound in their reviews because it is immediately off of the highway but we were so tired that we heard nothing (and some of our group wear earbuds anyway) We used the pool for a bit and had breakfast All areas, including our room, were clean and the parking lot was well lit! We had a great stay and experience

Been coming to this hotel with frequency Basically the only decent hotel in Barstow The rooms are decent

I would say that it does need a big updating, but it is Al of better than some of the neighboring options I really wish they would change the blankets to something less itchyBreakfast is okay Your standard assortment of eggs, waffles, potatoes and sausages They have cereals, yogurts, and breads as wellI appreciate the business center, as a person who does travel to work and has to occasionally print and copies (no FedEx office here)For those who pack clothes but still need to do laundry, the hotel does have a guest laundry! Thank heavens! They do sell detergent, but lately I have been bringing my own detergent and do a wash This hotel does satisfy my needs for the most part, just wish the Hampton Inn and Suite would have the amenities of a Hilton Garden Inn or DoubleTree

Eric MacArt

For convenience its okay As far as the rooms, breakfast and amenities go I give it 2 stars The rooms are dated, tiles in our bathroom were loose, hot water took 15 minutes to heat up

TV is from mid 2000s and the rooms haven’t been updated at all Our room was loud when you walked around causing concern for other guests Beds were hard and lumpyWe booked 2 rooms and both were identicalBreakfast was just okay, normal waffle maker and some fake eggs with biscuits and gravyIt seems that the owners updated the entry way to make it appear as though it was updated but that’s as far as it went 2 stars is the max I can give this

james farner

Claims of cleanliness are fake Hair on toilet seat and make up pencil shavings on bathroom counter When requested room cleaning, returned to trash can on counter and trash left in room

Go figure…UPDATE-I received an email from the manager ensuring me that this is not how they conduct business and I will give them another shot next time in town I have had bad stays at other brands and have never received an email unless I initiated the conversation This tells me they care about what it said and looking to improve

I’ll start with the positive things about this hotel The room was very clean with light colour flooring The fridge worked well

The staff was great all really sweet and friendlyThe beds were very old and loud if you roll over the springs make a loud noiseThe pool hours said 9am -10pm It was closed when we arrived at 8:45pm and it was closed They did have it opened up again for us but when we went over the pool was not heated and was really dirty(bottom was covered in leaves bugs and general dirt)Not under their control; some sort of security would be niceLate at night there was a black couple with a 200 lb Pit Bull talking all crazy He parked the SUV on an angle and was so drunk he was puking out the doorFirst thing in the morning we were going to pack up in the morning and let my daughter walk around the pool area Well that was met with a crazy lady with tattoos on her face telling us there was a psych in her room and crying telling us to call 911 She had her phone in her hand and said she recorded it all We told her to call 911 from the phone in her hand and she said she couldn’t Repeating there is a crazy man in her room Later we look out the door and it’s two teenage kids one boy appears to be having a seizure on the ground and the girl is trying to help him while the middle aged woman is still freaking out like there is something wrong with her 4 police cars show up and they leave him there after all is said and done This seems to be a no-tell-hotel and not any sort of resort like hotel

Jason Matsumoto

I’ve stayed her a couple of times while traveling It’s not fancy, it’s a bit dated, and the neighborhood isn’t the best, but for the price, it’s a fantastic value The breakfast isn’t awesome (bagged scrambled eggs, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, toast, etc), but it’s free and better than most hotels during and after COVID

The front desk staff aren’t always the most pleasant and friendly, but they’re more than friendly enough and very efficient The rooms are a bit dated, but they’re clean and have all the amenities you would want, including a fridge and microwave Out of hundreds of nights in many hotels, I’d rank this one near the top in overall value I’ll be back on my next trip

Antonio Gonzalez

Spacious and clean room, well maintained, quiet, great pool, convenient location, town with many dining options, super friendly staff Comfy beds, good towelsFridge with freezer and microwave

This comfort suites was nice The room was clean and fairly modern The bathroom was also good

The service was very good and everyone we encountered was very nice and polite The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts i have seen at comfort inns and other choice hotels That’s not to say the others are bad, but this one was fantastic So many great options and not hindered from COVID as of writing this review (July 2022) I overall highly recommend this hotel

The Othersidez

As always it is just a great stay Everytime So extremely clean and professional Great hot breakfast

Great customer service Have stayed many hotels and this is by far our favorite Hilton has nothing on comfort suites in Barstow The customer service is definitely the best and gets better every stay Thank you Nicole, Tori and all the staff for another great experience

John Whiteker

*Safe neighborhood*Inviting lobby*Courteous staff*Best cinnamon coffee cake 😁We had a brief stay after escaping the nightmare that is the interstate leaving San Diego It was a nice clean room and the AC worked well (pay attention San Diego hotels) I’d say the only issues for my wife and I were:1

One side of the king size bed only had enough clearance to squeeze by to access the bed2 Mediocre water pressure But I probably shouldn’t fault the hotel We are in the desert and this seems to be a common theme which is understandableIt’s hard to get a 5 star from me, but this one is quite close I would’ve given 45 stars if I could

I was taking my mother on a road trip across California and Barstow seemed like a suitable mid-stop on our journey The Rodeway Inn was reasonably priced and had excellent reviews I am happy to confirm that those are fully deserved

This is a family-operated establishment, and the couple make a great effort to accommodate their guests’ needs While not fancy (this ain’t Vegas!), the rooms are clean and have all the basics covered We arrived after dark and, upon hearing that I’m traveling with a senior citizen, the host made sure to place us in a room on the ground floor He was also up early in the morning, preparing complementary breakfast from scratch for any guests who wanted one (tipping is appropriate) While just a stopover on our trip, this did feel like a good experience And here is the best part: a couple of days later I realized I was missing my (fairly expensive) headphones I sent an email to the hotel, they got in touch and confirmed they had found them, and asked for my address I just got them back in the mail! They didn’t even ask me to send money for postage or for the trouble, but I’ll find a way to get it to them I am obviously very pleased and wish more places – including some “high-end” establishments – would offer this lever of service

Taunja Arzu

I’ve stayed many places across the country This was the best place so far!The customer service was impeccable! The breakfast bar was very impressive It had options for everyone gluten free, vegan, healthy etc

I stayed here for a week The room was clean!I actually witnessed them washing the blankets from the rooms when cleaning them!I looked at reviews for all the hotels in the area and this one was the best reviews I am pleased to say I would gladly stay here again! If you want a good clean room and great service this is the place to stay The other surrounding hotels may be cheaper but definitely not better!!!

Erin Rice

This place was a God send last night After traveling through the night until 2am d/t other hotels that were not of standard, we found this one The owner took care of us quickly, and offered to let us stay past check out so we could get a good nights rest

She was very kind, and professional The rooms were very clean They were laminate/wood floors, making for a clean surface, cutting down on allergens I would highly recommend

Awesome staff! My family ( incl 4 kids) and I stayed here for over a week Every staff member we encountered was courteous, helpful, and welcoming Rooms were comfortable and stocked relatively well for us to stay and cook there (we did bring a rice cooker and pressure cooker)

Breakfast is great; options for everyone! Only complaint is pool was not cleaned well After swimming there a couple times, I noticed a foul odor on our bathing suits Other guests experienced the same

Adam Flores

I just came back from a work trip and I stayed at this locationEvery staff member I interacted with was very kind Either helpful or just genuinely caring

They were able to answer any questions I had, and were glad to help me back into my room when I got locked out, and gave me advice on traffic and food places aroundI never felt like a bother As many times as I came down they were happy to help Interaction with the people who work at any establishment is high on my list and based on that I will absolutely be returning on my return tripsI Highly recommend this location

This was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve stayed in a lot! The comfort, cleanliness, and staff were top notchThe gal that checked us in was really nice and knew her way around the hotel She was a pleasure to work with when it came to the amenities

It’s easy to see that this is not a large chain hotel They care about the people who stay and want you to enjoy your visit We will be back next time we come to California!

Robert Botkin

We would likely endeavor to locate a different hotel for future trips but would accept if other hotels were not available The overall important cleanliness of our room was very good The breakfast was typical for this type of highway hotel

The breakfast room was nice The service when checking in was unacceptable We were happy to arrive when we walked through the entry and left the front desk worried about what more disappointments were yet to come The desk clerk was not happy to see us and seemed to be bothered by every one of our two questions When making our reservation when we directly called the hotel we were told they had electric vehicle charging, they do not There are nearby Tesla only superchargers but when asking about other car chargers they said they know nothing as if we were asking about what the next Fed rate change was going to be Amazing for these times and concern for our environment Generally we do not recommend this hotel but we would not dissuade you either Also, it is a little expensive for this rating

This hotel is absolutely beautiful from the moment you walk into the lobby After a long 13 hours on the road this hotel was easy to find right off the freeway, it is centrally located to many eateries and gas stations Checking in, customer service was not friendly but the rooms are very nice and clean and beds very comfortable

The breakfast was amazing with a great selection of cold/hot items, customer service in Checking out was great Overall a great place to stay and I would highly recommend

The staff was super friendly and accommodating The room was clean and the pool was niceBreakfast is different here from any other hotel I have been to

You get your breakfast from the restaurant that is connected to the hotel The pancakes were so delicious! It was nice to have a sit down breakfast rather than picking a few cold items off a counter

Stephanie Alvarez

We stayed one night, just passing through on our way home from vacation The room is very dated but they are currently under renovations Breakfast was also closed because of reno but they offered us gift cards to Jack in the Box, $8 a person which was more than enough for breakfast

The bed was extremely soft, which I do prefer for my back The court yard area is honestly so adorable and worth the visit The staff was extremely friendly, the house keeper saw us leaving and told us to take our time and be safe, she was so sweet My only complaint is the toilet made a high pitched squeal when flushed until the tank filled, and a moth flew out of the AC unit when we turned it on No big deal for us We will definitely be back, excited to see everything after renovations!

Kedar Tembe

Although it seemed quite ordinary from the outside, the room was quite nice Had all the usual stuff like a fridge, oven, iron, TV, etc and was quite clean The mattress was surprisingly firm, which is usually not the case in such places, and I appreciate that

Overall a pretty decent place Very close to a lot of restaurants and a movie theater
