Lovely stay Clean and Covid safe Incredible attention to details with delicious breakfasts delivered to the room with creative menus every morning! Lemon cookies waiting on arrival were exquisite

Rooms are cozy with fireplaces, snacks, robes and slippers The bed has two squishy pillows and two firm ones; they have truly thought of everything and want you to enjoy your stay A conflict with noisy guests was addressed promptly and really doesn’t seem to reflect the peaceful environment they are trying to create It was a perfect quiet weekend away, designed to be romantic and cozy One piece of advice: the room with an air tub is totally worth it- try to book this room

This place is the absolute best!! If you want a cozy and romantic getaway in a beautiful location, there’s nothing better The rooms are beautifully decorated and so thoughtful – there was even a white noise machine and a small wine fridge! The breakfasts were delicious, and Dena was kind and responsive and catered to my dietary restrictions Will absolutely be staying here again!

Our dream trip-we had the best time! Neil and Darlene were very accommodating Place was spotless and comfortable, and they were always nearby to answer any questions or concerns we had during our stay Breakfast was scrumptious

There is a snack and coffee/tea area for guests Neil even drove us to town and offered to drive us to the nearby train station when our stay was up (and sang to us when he found out it was our anniversary!!) 1000% Recommend

Neil and Darlene, you have done it What a wonderful stay we had and it was due in no small part to the Swann Inn The place is lovingly decorated and adorned with care, the hosts were friendly and helpful, and the beds extremely comfortable

We looked forward to breakfast each morning and were sad to leave We would happily come back, not just for Beacon, but just for this wonderful BnBWe stayed in the Green Willow Room over Labor Day weekend We booked back in July The room had its own bathroom, toiletries, etc, and a very comfortable bed for the two of us About a 5 minute drive to Main Street on Beacon, the place was a very convenient location to most of the town’s attractions

Special thanks to Dylan at the front desk and the entire breakfast crew especially the blonde young woman (name started with a S and possibly German?) Both were amazing and did things when no one was looking Thoughtful bartenders too

Superbly clean and disinfected Employees are very well trained and competent at their positions Love the room with refrigerator, microwave, and the shower is perfect Stayed 2 nights and they were the best of our 12 day road trip

laura Marder

We had the best time here! The staff was very welcoming and upbeat The room was clean, comfortable and accessible Our pup felt so welcomed and we loved that they had poop stations close to the back doors

Breakfast was above expectations and we could bring it back to the room to eat with our dog We only came up for night to be close apple picking, but we could have stayed longer and gotten to use the clean pool and gym We can’t wait to come back!

Ok this hotel is great, NOT

there is a swimming pool, but no water in it There is a weight room, but if you just want to maintain the weights are too heavy There is a fire pit But you can’t use that after 10:00 Not you can use it just be respectful of others sleeping No use after 10 They still have a bag breakfast Yeah a bagel cream cheese and butter They still have dried cereal There is coffee too But it is located just off the highway

Mike Alexandersen

What a dump The pool was out of order, although apparently one could get a pass from the front desk for a gym/pool “down the street”; we didn’t have time to leave the hotel to go to a poolThe breakfast was super abysmal: bagels, muffins, cereals, milk, juice, coffee

There was only regular, half and half, and whole fat milk No low fat, no lactose free, no non-dairy The bagels and muffins came individually wrapped in cling wrap, then inside a paper bag that was stabled shut Additionally the bagel bags had two little tubs of butter and a tub of creme cheese in it, forcing those to go to waste for anybody who doesn’t eat/want those things Excessive packaging, forced wasted food and no dairy-free options; what is this, the 1990’s?

Anil Singh

Great location and Marriott property Plenty of places within 10 minutes of this hotelFirst and most important, it’s not a newer property so don’t expect all the sparkles and fancy shiny stuff

It’s still a great Marriott property thoughThe biggest con is the property is older The rooms are smaller and somewhat clunky as the hotel tried shoving larger furniture items into the smaller rooms rather than optimizing the room That large couch in the picture looks cool but there’s no back support if you just want to sit in it and watch a moviePros are that the staff is really nice including the maintenance team The breakfast area in the morning is great considering what other hotels are offering during Covid times Be warned though as there’s slim pickings on breakfast options if the hotel is at max capacityWe had a leaky sprinkler in our room during the stay The maintenance team was nothing but accommodating and eventually ended up changing our room so they could fix the issueI’d definitely stay here again though

The room was beautiful and comfortable with minor issues However, our stay here started off poorly when we attempted to check in and the front desk staff told us our room wasn’t ready and walked away before saying anything further while we waited (check in was at 4pm, we arrived at 4:15) Another issue we ran into was that the next morning we went down for breakfast about 9:25am

We grabbed food and not thirty seconds after we sat down, staff began breaking down the breakfast set up before it seemed all guests were able to get food My partner was hoping to grab a bagel, but she was not able to Additionally, the single most important reason that I selected this hotel was that it had a hot tub However, staff chose to clean the hot tub not before 10am when the pool opened, but at 10am so it was unable to be used before we had to check out Much of the stay felt cheap and as if amenities were limited due to it being a weekday However, we paid for our stay and expected access to the amenities Will probably not stay here ever again

Tonya Canady

The rooms were comfortable My sheets had a couple of stains on them and the rooms are on the smaller side The front desk was not very clear when I asked for directions so I had to navigate a bit off the path before finding my destination

The complementary breakfast was okay, but not a lot of vegetarian or vegan options Walmart is across the street so that is a plus for buying things that you may need There are fast food restaurants that surround the hotel as well as a wine store and a shopping center

Shonita Joshi

The hotel is decent, the technology and space is old, no toaster in the kitchen & the gym & pool are small The problem however is how RUDE the staff is- especially the manager of the hotel, CathyWe were on a long term stay for work (a period of 9 months but we had to cut it short & leave after 3 months) because of the micro-aggressions particularly towards me, a person of color

At breakfast while I waited in the lobby, a member of the staff came up and said “are you waiting for someone?” and I told her I was waiting for my husband & she said, “can’t you wait in your room?” I was shocked I asked her if it wasn’t okay for me to be there & she said “No, it’s okay But I have to vacuum here” WOW And this person greeted those around me with a ‘hello’ & ‘good morning!’ A few smaller things were said but I decided not to pay attention to itBut this incident below forced us to leave: my husband and I walked into the banquet hall on a quiet Sunday evening – it was open & not in use We were filming a quick video about soccer & couldn’t find a good spot anywhere else & it was raining outside A minute into the video & the front desk person walked in & asked us to “get out” He said it was a paid space and we could not use it without permission We immediately apologized, we had no idea but also having lived there three months they knew us and we thought they would communicate more politely We asked the staff member why he was being so rude when we had no trouble admitting our fault and he said “I was told that you are creating a nuisance and that was a miscommunication That’s why I came in hot” And he didn’t apologize, only justified his rudeness We left it at thatThe next day we were sent emails from the management stating that it was brought to their attention “that a situation happened in our event space” So I went to the manager’s office hoping that she could hear our side of the story because there seemed to be some miscommunication When I told her that I found the staff member and the email rude she said “YOU DON’T THINK WHAT YOU DID WAS RUDE? YOU USED A SPACE WITHOUT PERMISSION I’VE WORKED HERE LONG ENOUGH AND I CONSIDER THIS MY HOUSE YOU DON’T THINK IT’S RUDE TO WALK INTO SOMEONE’S HOUSE AND USE A SPACE YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO?”… I mean… Just… wowThe difference between a ‘mistake’ vs ‘rudeness’ seemed to elude her I understand supporting your staff but as a manager you want to placate both parties? Also, this is not her house I pay to be there And if you’re the “host” then you don’t ask your guests to “get out” So I didn’t think there was a point in talking any further and told her, “I guess then it’s better we leave” to which she replied “YES, I DON’T THINK THIS WAS A GOOD FIT”I cried As a person of color that stung deeply -the choice of words She said we weren’t a good fit because we used an open, unused banquet hall space for less than 60 seconds? And when she saw me cry she passed a box of tissues- no apologyThe Hyatt desperately needs to train their staff in basic hospitality and while humanity and decency cannot be taught, a training in RACE RELATIONS might help to some effortI will never come back I will never recommend anyone to itIf you have to stay here, it’s understandable Some of the staff members are kinder- Lauren, Judy, Jackie- stick with them You’ll be in good handsIf you’re expecting good service and kindness, I’d suggest you go to the residence inn or other hotels nearby They are MUCH BETTER and definitely won’t make you feel like you dont “fit in their space”

Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa is absolutely beautiful The grounds are phenomenal, with a lovely view of the Hudson, picturesque ponds, and rolling greens The owners have rescued most (all?) of the animals, which were so fun to visit

Make sure check out their beautiful aviary, with 2 chickens coops and the peacocks are a riot If you’re staying in the North Cottage you will definitely hear them coo and squawk! Our experience with the staff was excellent-everyone was super friendly and they went above and beyond to help usDinner at Henry’s was amazing-if you like cocktails, highly recommend the Bees Knees and the scallops were delicious Breakfast is included-it’s a small menu with impressive execution by Chef Jennie – who would have thought Zucchini Walnut pancakes would be so life-changing!Overall, our stay was lovely and restful-a truly beautiful property, and we can’t wait to come back!

I was here in January Beautiful grounds and a very nice room It was an extremely restful and peaceful few days

The best part was the food at the restaurant – some of the best food I’ve ever had and the drinks were great too Included breakfast was yummy and made to order and daily tea-time was a cute touch also I also got a massage which was out of this world Thank you

Katie Barker

I came here for the spa and was taken back by the beauty and tranquility of the grounds There are flower gardens, animals, fresh fruit and produce growing, chicken and peacock! The grounds are well maintained and are free to walk for everyone using their facility The spa service was excellent and, though can be pricier than other spas, was well worth the extra money

There are well marked paths that bring you to ponds that have swan, geese, and duck, as well as waterfalls I would highly recommend coming here I am looking forward to coming back

My family and I decided to go upstate for a trip and chose this hotel because it’s website stated that it was pet friendly I booked our stay in advance and wrote that I’ll be having my dog with me (and accepted the pet fee) I got to the hotel and they told me that dogs weren’t allowed

The lady at the front desk said that even though the website says that dogs are allowed, they aren’t She just apologized and told me that they can refund me all my money but there was nothing else to do I was so shocked Until I said that I don’t know what to do then because I had come upstate with my family and we had no where else to go, she just expected me to take the news and leave She was then kind enough to tell me that there was a hotel 20 minutes away that allowed pets and to hurry up and go before that hotel was booked up I left immediately of course but I think that if the Hilton made a mistake, they should have accommodated us better We ended up paying significantly more for a hotel room and were rushing around and stressing because this hotel lied about their pet policy They could have followed up with my reservation and told me that pets weren’t allowed anytime before I checked in, but instead I found out everything while I was at the counter and my family was in the car I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all

Remco Jonker

Rooms are spacious, have a fridge and an American coffee maker No water cooker Had a room with two queen beds

Every thing worked, heating/AC was a bit noisy, some bathroom fixtures a bit worn Had included breakfast in the room rate, quality a bit disappointing, the fruit salad was overripe, mentioned this to the restaurant staff, they promised to renew the bowl but 30 minutes later this had not yet happened Other food quality was good

Alex Shaffer

Room standards were unacceptable I was traveling with my mother to visit family The first room we were put in had blood and dirt on the beds

The customer service was great, we got put in another room but this room was almost as bad There were horrible stains on every inch of carpet, brown stains on 2/3 of the towels, ants EVERYWHERE in the bathroom, and when the shower turned on the toilet was shooting water out of the bowl and all over the seat and floor But I guess I will take the second room over the bloody bed room I saw the sticker in the mirror in the bathroom with the Hilton Clean Stay Information and it’s obvious that the cleaning staff do not follow that whatsoever

The Overlook Lodge is something of an annex of the Bear Mountain Inn The downfalls of booking here are that the place hasn’t been updated in a very long time, there is one vending machine in the lobby that doesn’t have much, and is really expensive There was only one person on staff in the lobby on Friday until 11PM , and Saturday during the day

There is no elevator, so if that is an issue, ask to be placed in a first floor room The road leading to the lodge is almost impossible to get to on the first try, because it looks more like an access road, and the roads haven’t been paved since Rudy Guiliani was mayor of NYC Look out for potholes! The plus side is that there is a gorgeous view of Hessian Lake from the main balcony, and or from your room if you’re lucky to get one on that side The person that did staff the front desk was very friendly The rooms were very clean, and the beds were uncommonly comfortable for a hotel The heating system took a bit to get used to, but it’s better than the window units you’re used to seeing Any money they spent on upgrades must have gone towards the climate control They have a security layer in place that requires you to have room key to get into the lobby when there’s no one at the front desk This place blended into the nature surrounding it It felt isolated, but oddly safe If you’re expecting the hospital like ambience of a Hampton Inn, this isn’t the place to go It has way more charm than that, and a few less services

Steven V Z

The Overlook Lodge is horrible dump that is not maintained Stinks, chipped paint on the building door, and floor mats at the building entrance that’s permanently stained I paid $315/night for a bland room with a parking lot view

It was so bad, we left after the first night, cutting our trip short Avoid it at all costs You can visit the Bear Mountain State Park without staying in the Bear Mountain Inn/Overlook Lodge Worst option if you have a pet with you

Chris McAuliffe

Reserved a room in Beaver cabin It was a terrible experience The ac unit was not working and the room was very hot

The room also had quite a noticable odor The room was advertised to have a queen bed, but the bed in the room was a full The room was also very tiny The staff was gracious enough to let us check out early and provided a refund
