I absolutely love the owner Linda and her familyGreat people and she treated me like family Rooms were clean, there was an incident with another resident/guest, as promised Linda took care of it immediately

I never even had a chance to bring it to her attention since she was completely in tune taking care of me and the other guests If you want something simple inexpensive, safe and clean then come here Rooms are retro and charming I loved the owners Wonderful people

Time spent on Michigan’s west coast rarely disappoints and our recent trip to Stevensville was beyond delightful despite the inclement weather Through rain and a few patches of sunny sky, we discovered wonderful gems to explore Lydia’s diner in Bridgman is a must-eat-at and a stop next door at Peacock Rocks makes for a fantastic afternoon

Rain or shine, the crown jewel was our stay at Ray’s Motel Like a step back in time, Ray’s was a comfortable and inviting respite The history of this multi-generational family owned property, paired with stunning brickwork, grassy yard with fire pit and vintage decor certainly adds to the charm and comfort The service, however, goes beyond welcoming and far into outstanding territory Every ask was met warmly and with a smile We were checked on often, to ensure our satisfaction and check on any needs we might have and to answer all our questions about the area, without ever feeling hovered over; the perfect cadence We left feeling as though we’d stayed with good friends and looking forward to returning soon If you are in or around the area, Ray’s is a must-stay

Clean 1950s motel No amenities, bring your own

shampoo, hair dryer, etc Very thin towels Seal broken on toilet to my surprise, so pants got soaked! Very annoying Window treatments not very private plus bright lights from outside light up the place at night We had to hang towels and clothes up to sleep Creepy, but friendly guy sitting outside our room Oh, and efficient, yet noisy AC Cheapest place in town at $89/night Our choice, but definitely roughing it

Incredible service on the phone today with staff member, Latonyia! My phone kept getting disconnected due to cell service issues on my end and each time I spoke with her she was patient, understanding and extremely helpful She had such a positive attitude and it was really appreciated Effortless booking experience over the phone! We are looking forward to our stay!

Lynnette W

Nice hotel The bed is horrible The mattress holds the heat from your body, I had the air conditioning on all night

It was a bit better the second night leaving the air and the fan on constantly but still hot There was a crazy lady screaming in the hall way at 4 am I called the front desk, she said she had called the police but she lied! She didn’t Horrible! Getting on the highway with just a few hours of sleep was not good

Deb Wilk

Don’t stay here is you have asthma!!! Something in the bedding triggered my husband’s allergies Caused him to have breathing problems We had to leave after only a couple hours

It seemed like a nice place and very clean The staff were nice about it, but couldn’t provide hypoallergenic bedding We’ve never had this issue at any other hotel, including other Marriott

My wife and I had a wonderful stay Wilfredo is so friendly and his breakfasts were fantastic The view from their lake front is phenomenal, and the beach & St

Joseph Lighthouse & piers are a very short distance by car If weather permits, the piers are great to walk out on Hard to beat the sunsets over Lake Michigan For sure plan on coming back!

Ryan

Hands down one of the best B&B’s I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in Unfortunately, I was only able to stay here 1 night for my girlfriend’s birthday, but we made the most of it Wilfredo was so welcoming and exhibits first rate hospitality

He arranged and surprised my girlfriend with a dozen roses and even a birthday cake! They’ve renovated their B&B and it really does have that coastal vibe to it The views are stunning We didn’t feel like leaving the grounds to explore St Joseph because of how amazing everything was from the room, deck, fireplace, jacuzzi, everything! We will definitely be back!

J Adaire

Will and Brandy have created a wonderful experience at the South Cliff Inn It began with a warm welcome and ended with such a delicious breakfast In between, we enjoyed the stunning setting overlooking Lake Michigan and our beautiful room

Located within 10 minutes of St Joe Restaurants and highway nearby

Staff were very friendly and helpful Room and bathroom were large Bed was very comfortable A little dusty in places but otherwise quite clean Reasonable rates compared to others we researched Our recommendations would be to provide a comfortable sitting chair (only an office chair in the room) and apply anti-slip strips in the handicap shower (the floor was slippery which is dangerous) A few improvements and this could be a perfect stay All in all a very comfortable and pleasant place to stay

Allen Lewis

Nice location, new hotel Like the vinyl floors in the rooms, as we had just stayed at another hotel where the carpet turned our feet black However, still thought the floors could have been a little cleaner

They use “Swiffer” style mops, and I think a regular mop may be more effective Wish there was a microwave in the room Relatively convenient to St Joseph Overall good though, would recommend and would stay again Customer service experience was better than average

Sherryl Santos

Once we entered the hotel we were greeted by a very friendly front desk employee The lobby and rooms were very modern Rooms were clean, which is important to me

I thought the bed and pillows were super comfy, and the sheets were soft to the touch Also, the continental breakfast was actually quite nice There was a nice spread of sausage & biscuits, eggs, cereal, toast, etcThere were only a few cons I’m glad there was a fridge, but it was missing a small freezer part, which most hotel fridges would have I actually needed to refreeze a couple of ice packs that I brought with me, so I wasn’t able to do that this time On another note, the location what is about 10 minutes south of the downtown portion of St Joseph, but it was an easy drive to get to and froI would still definitely recommend this place It’s nice!

Super clean! Friendly staff! Great food! The best hotel my family and i have stayed at in a long time The bathroom came with more than enough towels and wash cloths normally you get a limited supply but here had plenty available! The beds were extremely comfortable and clean The pillows felt like a cloud

All in all I recommend this hotel!

Rohan Meher

Staff is good Very clean rooms Happy, Hearty & Hot breakfast in morning

Something for everyone to have a bit Like their waffle griddle perfect shape, not much wastageParking spots were limited and was a challenge if you take your car out midnight and coming back there is no spot left to parkSmoking zone isn’t well designated

Tara Parsons

My guest room was beautiful, spacious and clean! Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good However, the heater would knock loudly 6-7 times every 20 minutes during the night and woke me up each time I also had to ask the front desk to please have the room next door turn down their blaring music at 4am

Overall, my stay was nice, just didn’t get much sleep

My husband and I recently stayed here for a long weekend as our first vacation in quite some time The property is absolutely beautiful, it is decorated to today’s tastes and so clean and comfortable Barb was an incredible host

Her advice and willingness to share ideas on what to do and where to visit was so helpful The best part was definitely her home-cooked breakfasts each morning that were out of this world! We cannot say enough about how wonderful Among the Vineyards is and we cannot wait to stay again!

Jody Silhavy

Our weekend at Among the Vineyards was perfect! The outdoor space is incredible! We spent the day by the pool snacking by the outdoor kitchen area and enjoyed relaxing by the fire pit at night The rooms were spotless and the whole house was decorated so perfectly! I have stayed here before in the past it was a great hotel The cleanest of the hotel has went down the carpet going up the stairs was extremely dirty The carpet in my room had a two big red stains on the floor

The breakfast used to be exceptional now it’s trashIn the evenings they used to put out popcorn and different treats with lemon water, that’s no longer The young lady checked me in she was great very patient and warming That was the only thing that I was pleased with I was at the Staybridge hotel next-doorI had to leave because they were over book I stayed there a couple of nights that hotel is fantastic from free laundry to exceptional breakfast exceptional social hour and the staff was great!!

Paul Deeds

I am a top tier Marriott member (Titanium level) so I stay at many Marriott properties I’ve stayed here twice During the first I was put in a highway facing room and it was very noisy

During my second stay, my room was facing the tear and far quieter The room, dispite the enhanced sanitizing had visible dust on the shelves and of 11 lights in the room, one was missing and 2 were burned out I really liked the room layout and location, there needs to be attention to details Last, but far from least was a group of young people coming in at midnight and causing quite a commotion I am working long hours and going to bed at 9 pm and after being awoke from a sound sleep at midnight, had a difficult time returning to sleep after two phone calls to the front desk No real apologies and no compensation for when I interrupted night sleep I certainly don’t feel like a top-tier loyalty member based on this stay

George Fisher

Very nice rooms This one has updated amenities with a more modern feel that makes it feel much more expensive than it isCombine that with a friendly and helpful staff and you have a winner

If you happen to be in the St Joseph area in Michigan and need a nice place to stay, this is it

Beautiful campground Great location Renita is the best! Despite a mix up in reservation, she went above and beyond to accommodate me at 11:00 at night

She worked so hard to make me comfortable She is a true gem So glad I stayed here Only suggestion would be to put more fans in the bathroom to cool the bathroom Heat and humidity makes it too hot in the bathroom

Laura Anne Shonka Baynes (Etherhial1)

This was a wonderful visit I took care of a friend’s dog The artwork in town was REMARKABLE to view as I walked by and the local bar and grill was delightful

The local grocery was nicely small and friendlyThe view of the river is soothing and lovelyThe bathhouses were clean and separate so privacy was well enjoyedThe staff very patient and knowledgeable

Mike Maintenance

Super friendly staff! The campground itself is as clean as I have ever seen, both the grounds and the restrooms are impeccable Large flat sites with fire rings and picnic tables There’s a beautiful river at one corner of the campground

A very nice playground for the children In some of the cleanest shower bathrooms I have accounted in Michigan

Beautiful hotel Almost all of the staff was very kind Great rooms with a great view

Very fair nightly rates Room Service breakfast was quite delicious The complimentary breakfast was good as well Did have a few small issues Overall room cleanliness could have been a little better Unfortunately a used (Wet) towel from a previous visitor was still hanging in the bathroom Also had a minor insect issue in the room (Ants) Other than that mostly enjoyed my stay and would probably return again in the future

Sandra Corona

Disappointed to have to write this review Hotel was in an excellent location It was dated but looked like the decor was recently renovated so it was nice enough

Paid $500 for the room for 1 night & found 3 long strands of hair & sand in the bathtub Later found a used contact on the bathroom floor Clearly the bathroom was not cleaned Reported this to the front desk & was told the manager would speak to me I waited with my 2 young kids The manager walked past me but never spoke to me & instead told the front desk to discount the room $30 I paid full price for a clean room & that is not what I got The manager should’ve spoken to me & the discount given was so insignificant to be meaningful Would not stay here again & do not recommend

Kendall Totten

The hotel was clean, bed was comfortable, and the room was good sized, but I was honestly surprised at how dated and grungy it was for the price tag Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and felt a bit like a dungeon And while we were there for two days, Friday and Saturday, only one elevator worked

And various doors were locked in the stairwells so it was a major inconvenience to get downstairs and back up with breakfast Also the hotel decided that the weekend would be a good time to paint the front door and block off an entire entrance?? I don’t understand that at all Overall the experience wasn’t terrible and if I had paid $150 a night for the room it would have been fine But for $300? I will never be back

We’re so happy with the Inn Our room is spacious and the beds are comfy! Every interaction with staff has been friendly and efficient A drawback is the small outdoor pool, but there’s lots of poolside seating

The Plank Restaurant has delicious selections of cocktails and unpretentious American cuisine Do yourself a favor and get a table outside by the river And if you like calamari with a twist, you’ll be delighted by the addition of banana peppers and onions The Inn resort is a nice getaway–great location on the water!

Christie Spreng

Our family had an exceptional stay at The Inn at Harbor Shores Stay here! We had a King suite – the couch pull out bed worked great for two little kids Rooms were clean, team was friendly, very service oriented

If you want to be close to St Joe and want the amenities of a hotel, stay here! Do not look anywhere else Would recommend a room with the harbor view In particular, the team helped us with a reservation last minute when our other place didn’t work out

Jason kantz

My wife and I were looking to have a night away from our kids for her birthday so we booked a room at the Inn For one night it was $550 Didn’t care about the cost

The hotel is very nice and the room had a nice view but that’s where it stopped Our TV did not work and we had to have maintenance come up not once but four different times to get the TV working The hotel was fully booked so they couldn’t move us to a different room Then our AC stopped working in the middle of the night so my wife and I were boiling hot After talking with the front desk that night, we were told that a manager was going to talk to us No one said anything to us I didn’t hear from any manager The next morning I called down to the front desk to ask If a manager was still going to talk to us to rectify the situation like we were told and was told that “there’s no manager here now but you can leave a message with our GM” I left a long but respectful message with the GM with my name and my number to contact me back Never heard back I left another message recently and still never heard back I’m sorry but if I’m paying almost $600 for a night then everything better be working I feel like I got scammed and on top of that the hospitality was atrocious No “I’m sorry” no “let me see what we can do for you” Nothing I’ll never book another night here and I’ll recommend my friends and family not to as well

Our room was clean, save for the stains we discovered on the edge of the fitted sheets, the shower was nice! I don’t usually write reviews, and I would have ranked this one higher, but I felt compelled to give it a lower rating due to the overall not super friendly staff The majority of the time we felt like we were overstepping or inconveniencing the staff for asking for the bare minimum (Paying separate from the room charge while getting snacks, ordering from the bar, which was very uncomfortable- and asking for a later checkout) It was overall a clean stay, but I don’t think we’ll be booking for this hotel again- it didn’t feel worth the over $200 pricing

Nick Miller

BEWARE! Had the worst hotel experience of my life Our original reservation was down the road at the Hampton They overbooked and sent us down to the Hilton Garden Inn – which basically ruined our vacation! The fire alarm went off multiple times throughout the night – causing us to spend over an hour in the lobby at 2am in the morning with other weary customers

The staff was sooo unhelpful and very rude throughout the entire process While all of us congregated in the lobby, horror stories started to unfold of people’s experiences in this hotel in the last few days Two different people overheard front desk conversations involving theft from their rooms, one current customer experienced someone trying to open his door in the middle of the night, another customer had a large red stain on their sheets when they arrived and the staff had the audacity to come to the room and offer him rubber gloves and a bucket for him to clean it!?! One customer had been given keys to their room, and as they entered there was someone already occupying the room?! You can’t make this stuff up, it’s so ridiculous!! We were told that we were going to have our money refunded Surprise, surprise they have backpedaled from that and are now offering their lousy points The general manager is an absolute coward and will not field any phone calls By the way, there was NEVER a manager around during the entirety of the stay Absolute worst hotel experience Do yourself a favor and stay away! There are 3 great hotels right across the street

Bill Shirley

The worst experience we have ever had in a Hilton property As Hilton Honors members for over 20 years with never a complaint, I guess we were due The unfriendly staff were major slackers

The TV didn’t work so they moved us Not much improvement-sat outside on the patio that evening after purchasing a drink at the bar, and after sitting down, we realized the cushions were very wet(Not visible) The next morning, only coffee, cold cereal and cold bagels were available unless you wanted to purchase a hot breakfast We went to sit on the patio again only this time the cushions were visibly wet! Maybe someone could take them in at night…??? The biggest problem was that I left clothing in the closet and reported it after checking out the next day The desk clerk who took my call said she was too busy to check then but would return my call That never happened and after two more calls, she told me nothing was found That means whoever cleaned the room took my things from the closet By this time, the housekeeping staff had gone home I was told to ask for Crystal, head of housekeeping, the next day, but surprise, surprise, Crystal wasn’t in that day I later spoke to James, the manager who promised to return my call by the end of the day That didn’t happen The next day I spoke with Craig, the regional manager who was going to follow up He said my clothing was not found We basically got the runaround from everyone we spoke with They were very unresponsive Bottom line, we stopped there the next day on our return trip, and continued to get no satisfaction The clothing was not found-“goodbye” For a one night stay over $21300, it’s a ripoff I wish we had read the reviews before booking Don’t make the mistake of leaving anything behind because you’ll never see it again

Dirty rooms with Oreo pieces on the floor, pillow and bed sheets stained, bed was okay in comfort, day shift service was good, night shift was atrocious Probably could get the same results for 1/2 the price at Red roof inn or something of that nature minus a possibility of bed bugs The 2nd worst hotel I’ve stayed at in as many hotel visits I’ve had in Michigan

Laura Gallitz

Lobby was outdated and wasn’t very clean Front desk was rarely staffed (I checked several times for towels and no one was there) In our room, there was missing pieces of trim and the cupboards and tub were dented, scratched and marred

Mattresses were saggy I expected more for $150/night! I would not recommend staying at this hotel Also, my daughter and her husband’s room had bugs crawling all over the ceiling and walls Gross!
