An absolute gem: luxurious exquisite experience from start to finish Upon arrival the staff offered a room update and a full list of welcome gifts (breakfast and dinner vouchers) The room on the 45th floor was well decorated, spotlessly cleaned and had all the essentials for a stay in the city
It was a very memorable experience, staff made sure we are treated with ultimate care and respect“Cherry on the cake” was an incredible breakfast: still craving those buttermilk banana pancakes and a light balanced oatmeal Thank you to the staff for your attention to details, it’s an achievement to keeping the standard of 5* hotel in San Francisco!

i liked it and the staff was amazing, but it will be a one-time stay for me this is a newer acquisition, and it just didn’t have the amenities and special touches to stand up to what i expect from these properties the views from the room certainly provided a the wow factor, but the hotel needs a little more attention to create a strong four seasons experience
as always, hats off to the excellent team working and caring for the guests and their stay
Chris Mauss
As usual, the Four Seasons never disappoint Finally a place where there is a real sense of service Rooms are impeccable
We had a suite with the view on the bay and the bridge, it was stunning (albeit weather remained foggy the whole stay) The staff is very competent, has the attention to details you expect and is genuinely nice and welcoming

Considering all the travel reviews we post, this may be the first time we have reviewed a property we have not actually completed our stay atMy wife and I checked into the Moxy for a two night stay earlier today The lobby and bar area looked very cool and had a fun vibe about it
We definitely looked forward to spending some time there during our stay Sarah and Libby assisted us at check-in at the end of the bar Both were very friendly and professionalShortly after arriving at our room we realized that the location of the hotel was not convenient to the location of the event we were attending Bad planning on our partUnderstanding that we were well outside the 24-hour cancellation policy, we returned to the front desk and asked if we had any options to cancel Both Sarah and Libby were very understanding and took care of our cancellation needs immediatelyThe high level and friendly service we received from Libby and Sarah is what continues to make the Marriott properties our only choice when traveling Thank you!

The staff was kind and courteous, great albeit a bit small rooms Feels very hip and modern Nice hotelWord to the wise tho, my bags were stolen from me while I was unloading my car at 430pm on a Saturday
Folks just drove up, took them while I was unloading and drove away Not the hotels fault, but just be hyper aware when uploading and loading your car
Brendan T. Westfall
This is the second Moxy my partner and I have stayed in, and it was just as pleasant as the first! There was plenty of street parking available around the hotel, and the welcome drinks were a nice touch The furniture and games in the lobby were appreciated, and the room and bathroom were well-decorated as well We would stay again if we make another trip to SF!

It felt nice to be in a clean, fresh room! I didn’t see one spec of dirty Love the scent of the shampoo and the bar of soap! Yum! The only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the tv didn’t have any channels
they did send someone up to help but he couldn’t get it working then they called my room and asked if we want to switch rooms… I had 5 kids with me and we all had just brought our stuff in and got off the road from a 4-5 hour drive didn’t want to move especially after feeling how comfy the beds were 😅 maybe y’all should have housekeepers double check the TVs are working properly before checking in guests I would expect the TV to work if y’all gonna charge me $52142 for 2 nights Oh there isn’t a microwave either 🙁 they have a fridge but no microwave in room to warm up food :/They have very little parking space around the hotel but they do have an overflow parking garage right next to the hotel But other than that everything was great Especially the customer service! Sorry for the other guests that had to hear me and the kids 😅Thank y’all so much though ❤️🔥 definitely would recommend others to stay here
Carlotta Fernbush
We stayed here for 2 weeks The rooms are very clean & so quiet, we got great sleep here every night All the hotel associates were just great
All smiles & so pleasant all the time Darlynn (spelling?) Is absolutely amazing! She made us feel so welcome, not just at check-in, but every day we were there We’ve stayed at hotels all over the country for work & she is probably my favoriteThe hotel is in a great location, so close to SF & Oakland for sightseeing My only negative feed back would be the extreme lack of parking & no microwaves in the rooms Otherwise, we had a great stay
Aryan Sood
Great hotel for stay Spacious rooms, 24/7 accessible gym, modern look, and very good staff service The location is also great with shops on the same street and the AMC Bay Street is a mere 5 minute walk from the hotel
The breakfast leaves some things to be desired, and isn’t as expansive as most other continental breakfast One major issue was that the eyehole on the room’s door was reversed and completely unsafe since anyone could see everything in the room from outside, but the guest services immediately sent someone to fix the issue

Great property with a free breakfast and Tesla chargers for guests Now the $20 for parking is not ideal but it could have been worse I did have an issue with the flat $200 hold placed on my credit card, I’m not use to having my credit card treated like it’s a debit card
I must applaud Angel Working the front desk as she was just a pleasure to deal with and she made sure my stay was good, the rooms are nice and clean along with sanitizing and bagging up the remote control which is one of the dirtiest things you will ever encounter in a hotel room I was lucky to have a room that faced the Bay side of the hotel and it was definitely a nice view to have since it was a clearer evening and morning in the bay You will be happy with the location as there are plenty of food and dining options within walking distance along with some shopping opportunities in the other shopping center within a 10 minutes walk I can say that this day was very pleasant along with we felt very safe on the property along with our vehicle being in an area where it was protected even without having a fence system to keep other individuals out There is some foot traffic due to a few bus stops along the route but there isn’t anything major that you should be concerned about, you can stay here with peace of mind that you will have a good clean room and a hotel that looks very modern and welcoming I know once my travels bring me back to the area we definitely have a new favorite place to stay

I gave it three stars due to Irene a staff member who was very rude on the phone when i called from my room asking about my charges Due to her tone and sharp comments i had to inform her I was only asking due to me never being advised by staff And she still was rude and annoyed
As a customer i felt disrespected and she acted like i should have already known since i booked my stay She has very poor customer service I booked my stay through a third party and they said the resort fees will differ depending on the resortNow for the best part, the valet was amazing wish I could remember his name, he was welcoming, informative, helpful and had great customer serviceWe also had the pleasure of meeting James one of the bar servers In the oak bar He was amazing, his customer service was authentic, not forced, very informative, great attitude and most importantly he was available Most times when your the only server on the floor it can be overwhelming Not James he did such a great job and he made us a jalapeño Moscow mule that was amazingThank you valet and James for making my stay amazing and providing great customer service at this difficult time in the world

I hadn’t been to Oakland in at least 20yrs and so much has changed! Some for the good and, as everywhere else, the not so good, but this hotel is very niceThe staff were extremely helpful, courteous, and personableThe rooms are nicely appointed, but I did have an issue day 1 with a sewage smell coming from the bathroom
It dissipated shortly after being there a couple of hours and it was fine the rest of my stay I noticed the same smell in a couple of spots throughout the City so it wasn’t their faultThe bed was super comfortable so I got plenty of good sleep on this trip and I loved it!Housekeeping answered my request quickly and accurately and Safety was High in priority here with mask on hand to hand out, sanitizer, and the redirection of anyone not behaving Respectfully I was really pleased with my stayThey have Ballrooms, Fitness, and a really nice Restaurant on site as wellIf you are ever in Oakland, California it is a great place to stay!

I love Marriott! Always excellent service My issue was the bathroom lighting was horrible Maybe add an extra light over the mirror
Also I noticed that the wash clothes were “ Made in Pakistan” That was odd to me since the other towels were a different brand Any explanation? And the pillows were way to soft I had to fold them in half to get any head support

I started 4 nights and loved it The suites are huge and the whole hotel is new and modern Lots of tech in the rooms ( automatic blinds, card activated lights, multiple TVs)
The breakfast is nice but I wish they would change it up a few times a week Tastes great though The front desk service team is very helpful and kind The overnight parking rate is very expensive but we didn’t have a car so didn’t impact me this time The shower was phenomenal Two independent shower heads! The kitchenette is cute and the included pots and dishes were clean
Prachi Bengeri
I had a wonderful stay at the Residence Inn Berkeley All the front desk staff was very courteous and kind Due to my flight schedule, I needed an early check in and late check out, both of these requests were promptly honored
The rooms are spacious and comfortable Breakfast was great The location of this hotel is perfect! So many good restaurants around, walkable to UC Berkeley, steps from the BART station and my room had a gorgeous view of the bay The only slight con is that being in the middle of downtown, you’ll hear a lot of traffic and emergency vehicle noise Other than that, a fabulous stay I would certainly stay here again

Comfortable bed The desk is a little narrow which is important for my work trips Friendly staff
No complaints with other amenities (towels, soaps, shower) I’d recommend this place Valet was reasonably fast With the exception of the coffee shop attached to the hotel, there are good dining options within walking distance Regarding coffee shop, black coffee was bitter and if I didn’t need the boost I would have poured it out I can also appreciate/understand that some places have to mark up food prices, but $4 for a grocery store cup of yogurt is excessive I should have stuck with the $6 breakfast burrito
Jess Brant
This review is difficult to write because certain aspects of the hotel are great and others are notRoom – We stayed in the nicest sweet with the exception of the penthouse, we stayed in the Jack London Suite Great size room
great layout however there are quite a few issues with the room First off the bed is extremely uncomfortable to the point where we cut our stay short by one night because we could not get a good night’s rest Second issue the sofa bed our daughter was going to sleep on was zip tied shut (no exaggeration) During our stay there was also a shortage of pillows and blankets For the room we could only get four total pillows and three blankets when I called down During my travels this is the first time there has been a shortage on pillows and blankets Another issue I had during our stay our room was never cleaned or turned downStaff – The staff is great!Location – Location is great very close to the ferry that takes you across the bay to San FranOverall review as others have stated on here, you are better off staying at a different hotel which isn’t dated/worn down The amount we spent during our stay, we also paid for the last night we didn’t even stay in the hotel Despite me bringing the issues to management there was a lack of a empathy
Paige M
The locations and views are wonderful Staff is friendly I upgraded my room and that’s where the issues started
The first room’s heat did not work We were moved to another room It was just dirty, which I noticed the next day after our late night move I brought it to front desk attention, but the report there was really nothing they could do I have reached out to Hyatt It looks so nice online and lobby is adorable Just frustrating!Edit: manager reached out and was very helpful

The Clancy is a very modern and a newer hotel, we really enjoyed our stay here The rooms were spacious and clean but don’t expect much of a view On most sides it just faces buildings so you won’t get to see any bay views or much of city views
We’re a Marriott member and they usually give some complimentary drinks or breakfast at almost every location, but we didn’t get anything here So nothing special about being a member here But they do have one of the most comfortable beds and pillows, we slept like babies, and it was really quiet and peaceful We’d stay here again
Patryk Paletko-Ali
The Clancy quickly became my favorite hotel in San Francisco It’s in a fairly quiet part of Downtown, but just steps away from many of the city biggest businesses The rooms are very comfortable, recently remodeled and very nicely appointed
Stylish decor and finishes both in the room and bathroom gives you that one of a kind, boutique feel After three stays over the last year and a half I have to say that the staff is super friendly and responsive to my needs, and goes out of the way to make me feel welcome I also felt appreciated as an elite Marriott Bonvoy member that I actually got a free breakfast, even though it was a Starbucks style sandwich, coffee and a piece of fruit, but I got it Most other Marriott properties lately are just giving you a $10 credit which in those hotels that might cover a cup of coffeeThis hotel also has relatively good room pricing compared to other area hotels, so it’s definitely a win-win situation Good service, good value, a very good experience
Niamh Madden
The Clancy Hotel was absolutely brilliant! So clean and bright, with excellent staff – they were so kind and helped with absolutely everything that I asked for or needed The food at the bar was also deliciously and really high quality (if a little pricey) I also loved the decor and my room was so comfy – the bed was really, really comfy!

Stayed one night with my grandson for the Giants game The pluses were the bed was comfortable and had nice pillows That was about it
The rooms are small, the “queen” bed was definitely not queen size It’s a full they’re calling a queen 🙁 The rooftop bar was closed for public on Friday until 9pm Then not open until 5 the next day If you want a window to the street instead of a brick wall, get ready to pay another $200 per night on top of an already very pricey hotel for the money Staff were ok, but unapologetic for the shortcomings You have to go outside the lobby to the street to even access the restaurant! Won’t stay again- don’t recommend

The big draw for this place is its location You can literally walk across the street to the stadium Otherwise, it’s a shining example of how to provide the least possible amount of space and amenities for the money
Good: nice staff, clean lobby/building/room, directly across the street from the stadium, easy access to most of SOMABad: $400+/night for a small room facing the back of the hotel (lovely view of a brick wall) with a tiny bathroom (with sliding door, not a proper one that closes), *very* tiny workspace/desk, tiny closet, and only an espresso machine and mini fridge, no microwave Room 512, for reference/future avoidanceAdding insult to injury: $70/night for valet parking ($85/night on stadium event nights)Particularly annoying: the room lighting only allows the room lights to be all on or all off, you can’t have just the entryway or just one bedside light on Absolutely bizarre and user unfriendlyThe little 5″ Android tablet in the room seems to be mostly used for serving ads And turning all the lights either on or off Temperature/fan control didn’t seem to do muchThere’s a “snackshop” in the lobby where you can buy (overpriced) food and drinks You can microwave your food there and take it back to your room But for $400/night you shouldn’t have to go to the lobby to heat your foodI can’t really recommend it, unless someone else is paying bill for you, or you just want to be able to literally walk across the street to the stadium Even then the lack of space, missing microwave, and room lighting mess make it a no for me

We stayed in hotel via to end our California road trip, whilst we only stayed 2 nights we enjoyed every moment The staff are super friendly, and the valet was easy Tablet in room with internet access but also is the main switchboard for lights, thermostat etc
The hotel is right across from oracle park, ideal for a baseball game We walked to pier 33 a couple of times and it took us about 40 minutes, or you can Uber but with traffic this takes around 25 minutes All in all an amazing experience and we can’t wait to come back!

The worst customer service I have ever experienced I emailed in early June to cancel a July reservation (just out of courtesy really- I was not expecting a refund and did not ask for one, but thought if I formally cancelled they could rebook the room) About two weeks went by and I didn’t get any response so I sent a follow-up
Two more weeks go by and no responseI decided to call then because my reservation was quickly approaching I was told no one got the emails and the reservation could no be located because the system was down They told me it was imperative that I call back tomorrow When I called back the front deck manager Fabio asked that I, not call, but email him This was different info then I’d been getting but I did itFive days went by with no response At this point I was actively getting texts from the Graduate asking me about check-in When I tried to call once more to see if my email had been received because no one ever responded Fabio told me I needed to call again tomorrow and send an email and then my reservation would be cancelled When I explained I already emailed but hadn’t gotten any responses he said “well, what do you want me to do?” and I simply said “cancel my reservation” and he HUNG UP ON MEWhen I tried to call back someone would answer and then hang up Never experienced anything like it

There is a complete lack of customer service A few days ago I made a reservation for 2 rooms ($500/night), for a week, a year from now over the phone I was told that my card would be charged immediately for one night for each room, and the rest would be charged 30 days ahead of time which was the last day to cancel
Instead, my card was charged the full $7000 right away There’s no excuse for them to hold $7000 of my money for a year when the reservation is still cancel-able for the next 11 months I called this afternoon (and waited FIFTEEN minutes to talk to someone), and the woman said she was seeing the SAME THING I had been told before, and would bump it up the chain to get the other nights taken off my card Instead, tonight someone called me back and said that I was given the wrong information TWICE (really?), and that they would hold my $7000 for a full year before I came She had ZERO interest in understanding my argument I have NEVER had another hotel do this before the cancellation date So, here’s what I think of the Graduate: 1) most expensive place in Berkeley, 2) you get conflicting information repeatedly, 3) even paying $500/night, you have to wait on hold for 15 minutes to talk to someone or wait hours for someone to call you back, 4) their attitude is “tough luck – we’ll do what we want with no intention of trying to listen to you” Does this sound like somewhere I really want to stay? Do you?It looks like they respond to reviews – so I’ll put this question here for the eventual reply: if I can get ALL my money back 11 months from now, WHAT is the justification for the hotel to hold $7000 from now until then? What’s their motive? Holding the money offers them NO protection against me cancelling more than 30 days in advance, and I doubt they’ll give me interest on that money

I’m currently sitting in room 625 and there’s a loud ticking noise behind the wall every 5 seconds This is in addition to a periodic thumping pipe noise that pops up every minute or so Needless to say it was hard to sleep in this room
I can only turn the fan on if the overhead light is also on so that’s fun Combined with small room size and things only being half renovated this hotel is not worth your time Luckily the location is decent and the first floor is charming

Wonderful on every level A kind and caring staff Great bar in the lobby
Cozy rooms and great prices The staff really makes the experience the best They really want to make sure you are having a good time, not just in the hotel but when you leave as well They always welcome you back and wish you a good day or night when you go out Will definitely come back

The hotel is very pretty and has held onto the original charm The staff is also very kind! The room was furnished nicely but was on the smaller side The door that connected our room with the one next door had a 2+ inch gap at the bottom and you could see into the next room, we stuffed a blanket under it to keep out the excess noise and from the people staying in the room from seeing into our space
The walls are thin so both our neighbors chatting sounded like people were in the room with us The bathroom was tiny and not practical at all There was no bathroom counter space as the bowl sink took up almost all the room and there were no hooks anywhere to hang your towels so we ended up grabbing hangers from the closet and hanging our towels from the shower curtain, otherwise our towels never dried on the shelf provided The TV barely worked and was glitchy every time we tried to use it The neighborhood is super convenient with delicious restaurants and coffee all around but it’s not super safe and very dirty If your looking for a quiet/private stay and for your room to be more then just aesthetically pleasing then this is not the place for you The price is too high for what is offered here I wouldn’t stay again unless it was a very short stay and/or the price was decreased by at least 1/3

Clean hotel with beautiful style modern decor and close to the waterfront We used all services The valet is priced as expected for the area ~50 bucks a night
The bar closes around 11 or 12 but stops serving food earlier The morning breakfast has much the feel of a typical buffet The lobby is gorgeous and has many areas for guests to sit as work or hang out The gym is well appointed and was one of my favorite features The rooms we stayed in were renovated and clean It was a wonderful four day stay for our entire party I would stay here again happily

We enjoyed a brilliant 5-night stay in this hotel Top service, spacious, modern room and ideally located for everything we wanted to do in San Francisco The main lobby area is spectacular (just going up and down in the lifts is an experience) and we made use of the bar, mini-market and gym too
We didn’t eat breakfast there because it seemed expensive, but there are plenty of places nearby and/or cheap options in the on-site market I would highly recommend the hotel and stay there again if I’m ever in the city
