My wife and I had a great two night stay here The place is beautiful, staff was excellent, and you couldn’t hope for a better location We flew in early and our room wasn’t ready yet, but the front desk let us use the spa bathrooms to change and clean up, then held our luggage while we took the complimentary bikes out for a ride on the beach path

Big thanks to Antoine for helping us coordinate that ahead of time! Our room kept magically tidying itself up and fresh waters kept appearing throughout the trip Top notch service and everyone was friendly as well We’ll be staying here again the next time we’re in Santa Monica!

Beautiful hotel, with Beautiful decor We were lucky to have our stay when the new year/Xmas lights were still on It gives a wonderful vibe to the Beautiful banyan tree at the entrance to this hotel

The room was nice, but could be more spacious The pool was warm, but the hot tub was spending! The sitting area(s) are amazing With tastefully decorated furnitures The food and the bar was also great The staff is extremely well mannered and the cafe is kid friendly Overall a very good ambience and a wonderful stay The proximity to the beach is great They also offer free bike rides for the same We did not use that service but I would say was a good option Would recommend the place for a good stay near the hustle and bustle

Jessica Arzola

Location was great but the rest of my stay was horrid I encountered 2 very nice people during my stay The gentleman who checked me in and the gentleman who took my luggage

Other than that I couldn’t use any of the amenities I was looked down by staff and disregarded during my stay They would attend the Caucasian people who would be standing behind me and ignored me and my family completely They offer spa amenities to guests with your stay However, when we inquired about the services, the staff were extremely rude by saying that those were only available for guest I had been staying at this hotel for over 3 nights paying $1000+ a night If I couldn’t afford this place for my family, I wouldn’t be there My husband couldn’t even work out comfortably as another guest kept asking if he worked there and making comments like “I didn’t know they allowed staff to use the facility” After he told him I don’t work here, he then kept asking what he does for a living The restaurant hostess extremely rude Never again I have stayed in many many other resorts, hotels, bungalows and they are 100 times more comfortable with better furniture, and cleaner rooms Not Worth your money!!!!!!

My experience at the Surfrider was exactly what I wanted out of a Malibu vacation I was able to easily walk across the street to the beach and pier They offered beach towels, on-site parking, a cozy vibe, and friendly staff

I heard there are Mini Coopers to rent, but I didn’t get a chance to do so The rooftop restaurant is lovely and it doesn’t get better than overlooking the coast They even offered to make me a picnic basket when I called ahead to confirm my booking (it was filled with goodies and locally-sourced items which I thought was well beyond the value I paid for it)The room itself is small but cozy The bathroom shower includes a handheld, which makes it really easy washing away sand and bits — great thinking The housekeeping staff are attentive The entire team made it a point to recognize us, making me feel welcome I couldn’t resist and bought their candles before checking outThank you to the team for running a lovely, chic, modern yet vintage feeling boutique hotel in a brilliant location I will be back!

This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay in Malibu Every little detail was perfect Every single person that works there is so incredibly friendly and helpful

I took my wife there for a birthday weekend and every person that we encountered made sure to wish my wife a happy birthday and really made the experience feel special I’m pretty hopeless when it comes to planning, but the staff at the Surfrider helped me plan and arrange everything for from a beautiful bouquet of flowers that were already delivered to the room on arrival, drinks in the room, in-room massage, and a delicious birthday cake during dinner The in-room massage was amazing All of the drinks and food were fantastic The rooftop deck has probably the best view of Malibu and the Malibu pier and it is reserved for guests of the hotel only so we were able to sit right away If you have an electric car, they have two level 2 chargers in their parking lot It felt like a truly bespoke experience and I cannot recommend the Surfrider Malibu enough We will definitely plan to return in the future

Marsyita Mohtar

Was here for a weekend and we stayed on the ground floor room The service was friendly and accommodatingThe room was fairly small but tastefully furnished

We truly enjoyed our short time hereWe tried the rooftop restaurant for both lunch and dinner Food didn’t disappoint I loved the Thai twist in the ceviche Drinks were creative and delicious Would love to stay here again when I’m in Malibu

Beautiful Bell

I had a great and refreshing stay at this Hotel, The staff was amazing You can tell they enjoy their Job The hotel was clean and in a nice location

The room was nice and spacious, We were in a junior suite My view from the 12th floor was beautiful I travel a lot and unfortunately stay at Hotels a lot, this is easily one of my favorite properties The restaurant staff were always amazing as well

Ronald Whedon

The good: The hotel is in very good condition The rooms, except the shower, had no bugs, stains or odors The air conditioning is not a window unit

The beds seem to be an ok fluffy pillow top mattress with a deluxe comforter and goose-down-like pillows I slept well This hotel is in a nice areaThe bad: There is no swimming pool or hot tub If you’ve driven there, valet parking is offered for $19 per day You may park your own vehicle for $1875 per day if valet isn’t for you Hilton tried to charge for valet and self for all days Hilton will charge your card $50 per day at check-in for incidentals deposit my charge was removed after checkout The shower was showing its age with light rust on the lower enclosure, degraded caulking and lightly darkened for traffic area I will stay somewhere else on my next visit

Carolyn Stifflear

Starting with the staff, they immediately thanked me as an honors member Upgraded my room to a spacious and beautifully decorated suite Every team member was courteous and very tentative to making sure I was happy duringmy entire stay

Well doneParking on site: the valet service was extremely affordableQuiet rooms with great views and blackout curtains to sleep in Comfortable bed and pillows Love the walk in shower and spacious vanityThe housekeeping staff was friendly and prompt to fulfill special requestsThis location has many great restaurants and a Starbucks within a few minutes walk Shopping nearby, also within walking Beauty, liquor store, housewares, bank, shoes, clothing and a hardware store

Beautiful rooms, excellent sauna/ steam room facility, amazing gym, wonderful gardens Food was absolutely incredible and room service was open late Staff was catering and exceptional overall

There was a wedding on the front lawn when I was there and I was able to peek at it from my room It was one of the nicest I’ve ever seen and was fortunate to see it All around great place

Kim Espinosa

Check-in was efficient, room was nice My gripe was that there was a party with lots of very drunk and loud people on my floor from 2:30 am until 4:30 am People were in the halls talking and laughing loudly for 2 hours

I called reception twice (3 am and 4 am) and they were definitely apologetic, but the noise didn’t stop We had an early flight and I mentioned at check-out at 5:30 am, but the check-out staff showed zero empathy They didn’t apologize but they did acknowledge the noise I know it’s not their fault, but I would think they should try a bit harder to ensure that guests can sleep ok Like perhaps have a no loud party policy after midnight?

Very nice, but pricey, beach hotel Expected an exceptional stay for our honeymoon for what we were paying but left rather disappointed However, we did enjoy the great views of the beach and ocean, complimentary bike rentals, excellent outdoor pool and bar area, and the nice restaurants and food options

Cons:-Room was not ready at check in time-Our flight home was delayed and we requested to stay an additional night but they were rude about it and less than accommodatingPros:-Upgraded our room-Excellent service from the staff (minus the front desk lady when we inquired about an additional night) Some of the staff even knew us by name before we left

Jem G

This is the only place to stay in Santa Monica Obviously, the location can’t be beat Staff were amazing, the place felt really welcoming

Room always looked spotless and the house keeping staff we met were super friendly Concierge helped me set up some surfing lessons and gave us some pointers on where to go diving (though sadly couldn’t help us arrange the ferry out) Breakfasts at Coast were excellent too, with fab service Can’t wait to come back!

Max Sanna

Amazingly well kept hotel, with excellent service all around in a great location right on the boardwalk Food is great, and the rooms are spacious yet very cosy and will let you have a very good sleepThe gym is decent and provides the basics you’d expect in a hotel gym, and is very clean

Perhaps the pool could use a little renovation but it’s still very niceI look forward to stay here again!

The Nobu Ryokan Malibu is a fabulous, relaxing, elegant property, with amazing, uncompromising, top of the line service The entire staff worked seamlessly together, to create a most memorable and enjoyable stay Our suite was sweet and spacious, with two luxurious spa like bathrooms

The room has a couple easy fixes that need to be addressed: ie a new carpet in the living area, discoloration’s or oil stains on the couch need to be removed, and the bed needs to be replaced It felt like a futon, a thin, hard, old futon mattress, which detracted from the luxurious vibe the hotel is striving for Located right on the ocean, we enjoyed our terrace for sunning, relaxing, dining, and taking in the ocean scene One of the rooms highlights was the mini bar It was completely personalized, down to the very last detail All requests were answered thoroughly While staying at the Ryokan, I also enjoyed a very powerful Reiki session in my room, through Fit Concierge I HIGHLY recommend having a Reiki session at the Ryokan, it was like the icing on the cake for our stay I hope you get a chance to stay at the Nobu Ryokan Malibu soon Thank you one last time too, to the entire Nobu Ryokan Malibu family, for your amazing hospitality and care!

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here over the weekend and it was a wonderful experience, from beginning to end So many people took great care of us and we’re so thankful for their attention to detail and ability to go out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay A staff member who stood out to us on the rooftop was Brendan who made sure we got a great place by the pool and a separate cabana

Drinks and food were excellent, served by Henry A staff member, “Blue,” in the lobby recognized us and made sure to help our friend up to the rooftop to meet us later that day which was cool Another member, Denim, was very pleasant to talk to and gave us a mini tour in the evening after the bar closed Management is amazing for checking in on us and making sure we had a great stay Our room was very clean and aesthetically pleasing with a nice view I had the best sleep here Truly memorable experience and we are appreciative! Hope to come back very soon and will recommend to all

Grace Drewes-Scheben

My husband and I just wrapped up a stay at the Proper and it was incredible The pool was such an amazing highlight – the food and the service were both amazing The decor in the lobby and the rooms were stunning and well thought out from every angle

The rooms were quiet too – we couldn’t hear anything! The gym was a huge perk – brand new and had all the best machines They also left fresh towels and waters for guestsI have ZERO complaints Thank you 🙏🏼

I have stayed at this hotel numerous nights since November of 2021 as my company opened a new business nearby Overall, the staff is incredible and my stays are pleasant I would agree with all the reviews that this hotel front desk is really bad and lacks serious customer service

Very rude, poor phone etiquette and make you feel like you are a severe bother to them I do however want to give a HUGE shout out to Jeffrey as he is the ONLY employee at the front desk with proper customer service and excels in delivering a excellent experience! I now tell all my colleagues when booking or needing assistance at this hotel to only ask for him Congrats to Jeffrey! You are a rockstar! The bartender is also by the the best! Your lucky to have these two on your team! For the rest of you and your management team…step it up!Coming from an Ambassador Elite

So we are at the beginning of our stay and already some disappointment I requested extra towels three times and it took me walking to the front desk to retrieve them myself There are 4 of us in the room and they had given 3 bath towels

1 of which had a dried blood stain on it Plus side there is breakfast regardless if you stay with Townsend Suites or Courtyard The pool is quite popular, so be prepared to find a small crowd there I will update my review along the way

R. Hoffman

This property is split between two different brands – Courtyard and Townplace I’ve stayed at both and prefer the Courtyard by far 2-star rating is due to the lack of cleaning on the Townplace side) and having to babysit my Bon Voy account to get credit earned with my stays here

The beds are comfortable and rooms are nice size The property can be loud if staying in a room along the highway or north side of hotel (animal shelter next door) It’s convenient to the 101 as well A bit isolated in terms of restaurants nearby LA Fitness is next door but gym is doable at hotelRecommend NEVER booking the Townplace side My only attempt to stay on Townplace side included not just 1 but 2 dirty rooms Ultimately I requested to be moved to Courtyard side, which the front desk accommodated after I showed them someone’s dirty towel was under my sink (and let them know I didn’t have any clean towels which I realized when I was getting out of shower so had to use the one and only washcloth to dry off) The room switch apparently caused issues crediting my prepaid stay for Bon Voy points I’ve been trying for 25 months to get it resolvedLocation is super convenient to my office otherwise I would find another Marriott property that is more consistent and doesn’t hassle me for Marriott pointsUPDATE: As you can see the property GM responded and claims my points were added That is absolutely NOT TRUE As of 8/13/22, I am still missing credit for the 2 nights I stayed on the Courtyard side of this property I have spent way too much time groveling for points that should be automatic RIDICULOUS!!!

I was staying at this hotel when I started not feeling well I was really wanting some comfort food like chicken noodle soup, which wasn’t on the menu Josh, the manager had the chef make me some special, delivered it to our room and comped the meal

What a wonderful surprise! Best meal I’ve ever had Thank you Josh and staff for the special treatment! I highly recommend this place that cares for its guests comfort

Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica is incredibly charming This cozy spot offers a very unique “Mediterranean Beachy” vibe with panoramic ocean views The location is absolutely fabulous and the restaurant options within the hotel are just enough

The lobby is absolutely stunning and really makes you feel right at home The hotel floors and the rooms are a little bit dated but obviously very well maintained The bed wasn’t overly comfortable (it moved every time you moved throughout the night), we had issues with our TV the first two nights (it wouldn’t even turn on, they had to send maintenance to take a look at it), you can hear a lot of the other guests in their rooms (the walls are pretty thin) I found the bar and restaurant service to be a bit slow The valet service was greatThe staff was just okay, not overly friendly or accommodating I actually think they were understaffed during the days that we were thereIt wasn’t the exact experience that we were looking for but we still enjoyed our stay as much as we could have

Pete Schiermeyer

This is a review for Santa Barbara location Front desk staff was very helpful Breakfast was alright, good coffee and OJ

Would be nice to have almond milk as an option Room was clean Location was great and easy access to restaurants Parking was good I parked on the street no problem Maid service cleaned our room very quickly after putting the sign on the door Free wine was nice touch each evening Bed and pillows were comfortable

Eugenia Murray-McGinnis

I just cannot say enough about the Hotel Casa Del Mar! All the way from the check in process through the check out process everything was done at the very highest of standards Our room was decorated In a coastal theme with beautiful soothing blues and comfortable beds We sat by the poolside during the during the day and lounged in the lobby listening to live music in the evening

We really didn’t have to leave the hotel to enjoy Santa Monica, but we did :-)We had breakfast one morning downstairs by the beach and then the next morning at shutters Both were comparable but we preferred the outdoor seating on the beach at Casa Del MarWe only have one dish and that was the steamed clams in the lobby and they were fabulousOur plan is to stay here from now on when we visit Santa Monica

This is a great little hotel located in Calabasas The service is great Although they claim to have a restaurant it is not really a separate part of the lobby it’s kind of just in the corner

They do have a wine bar and a extensive snack area where you can purchase beer wine and any snacks you might need The bed was really nice and so was the room The pool is pretty small but it also has a Jacuzzi The main thing I liked about this hotel is that it’s walking distance from the Commons Mall There are a lot of restaurants and shops in that mall and it’s a fun place to stroll around So if you find yourself in Calabasas this is a good solid place to stay

Living in the valley for over 2 decades, this is the 1st time I had a need to check into this Hotel Celebrating the 4th at the Warner Park is an annual event for us It’s FREE and pretty accessible

This year however we came across a fireworks package from the Warner Center Marriott It’s directly above the Warner Park where the Fireworks show is adjacent We booked it specifically in order to get an birds eye view of the event and kind of bypass the crowds mostly This hotel has all the amenities needed and has been updated to reflect the current contemporary look Service has been great and the rooms are very nice and sleek If I had another opportunity to check in the hotel I would not hesitate

We stayed here during a Fourth of July weekend trip to the LA area Staff was super friendly and helpful The room was very clean

Beds were so comfy! We melted into them every night we got back to the hotel We almost overslept the morning we were supposed to check out because they were so comfortable Close proximity to a lot of things There is a Whole Foods, Ralph’s and Amazon Fresh store all close by for food Starbucks in the lobby which was super convenient We stopped there before we headed out for the day One of my favorite Marriott’s we’ve stayed at I am definitely going to be back

This place was about to charges me $100 per night even though my company paid already & for self-parking fee This is for incidental charge but for every night is ridiculous Had the account hold for $150 instead of $500

When I checked out the front desk blond curly hair woman charged me for the parking even though there is a note there I had to contact the account to help it cleared Refunded within 3 daysThe check-in lady Sam is wonderful, she got me on the 3rd floor No carpet which I want and no noise coming from the top or bottom floors The 2nd floor leads to the 3rd floor parking building There a mini fridge but it can’t even keep my ice cream cool No microwave Gym is kind of old and dirty I like the free breakfast the platinum member lounge Make sure the front desk activate your membership to gain access to itNote: Select option 5 on the main menu to speak with the account and have her send you the credo card authorization form Otherwise you’ll be charging for the full amount for the stays

A beautiful modern, comfortable hotel in upscale residential area of Bel-Air The hotel has sitting areas throughout, all comfortable chairs or couches with throw pillows, artful tables with fresh flowers, uniquely designed wall sconces Each circular arched walkway has different suspended lighting

There is wonderful blend of color, shape, texture and all areas of hotel ate lined with trees or flowersAlthough you are in a very busy area of city, the noise of the hustle and bustle is absent It is quite relaxing to take leisurely walk through Swan Lake Gardens, a wonderful variety of colored flowers, palm trees, even redwoods (Sequoias), red bridged walkways, trickling fountains There are two beautiful swans in the lake near reception and Lobby LoungeMy visit to hotel was to see Andy Warhol photography, sponsored by Hedges Project, and to enjoy cocktails at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Lounge It was a relaxing, low stress environment which my husband and I quite enjoyedThe service here is excellent We told valet upon arrival we were there for photo exhibit and he asked if we enjoyed it when we left We also received quick service in cocktail lounge, all servers were very courteous and friendlyThere is no street parking available Valet for our visit $15 (plus tip) It may be less with validation or if you are guest of hotel, so I suggest checking website or calling to verify I will return here for a spa day in near future

Best place to relax in LA Staff are all excellent (special shout-out to Francesca) Grounds are beautiful and rooms, as you might expect, are very high standard

It’s expensive but you’ll feel like a millionaire just sipping coffee Not quite 5 stars from me as a few small details just miss the mark and at these prices you expect everything to be flawless 45☆

I was lucky enough to attend the MOST beautiful wedding tonight, I don’t know if I actually have any experience to compare it to Obviously, the guests were amazing What impressed me the most, was how professional the staff was

From the valet, to the wait staff Impeccable I understand why this place is what it is Course after course they came out in unison Knew when to pause at a moment when bussing tables would interfere with the experience I’m in awe of the teamwork required to execute such a feat all the while, minimizing their impact on a moment that is so important 5 star that may not be enough

Beautiful views and lovely grounds with flowers everywhere Unfortunately, the beds are EXTREMELY hard My husband and I had a difficult time getting comfortable and woke with sore backs

Also, we had to unplug the lamp and clock to charge our phonesThe pool is cute and heated Perfect for little kids Bring a cooler because there wasn’t anyone tending bar in the pool areaThe Italian restaurant is closed on Monday so we were unable to go They have an outdoor restaurant that requires you to order food and drinks in lineI’m giving the resort 3 stars because for the price they need to make improvements regarding comfort and practicalities

Great experience overall Just to get a few nit-picky things out of the way… a hinge on top left corner of the slide door shutters was sagging and the doors wouldn’t seem to properly close as a result We were booked into a suite so the fireplace is accessible to both rooms via a set of glass doors

They were good on one side but looked crooked on the other I tried fixing this and it literally came unhinged I put it back into place as best as I could and made a point not to mess with it The spa tub is great, but one of the jets stopped working on the third day And the towel rack closest to the toilet is quite loose on one side The shower is awesome and reminds us of home as we have a similar setup with the exact same fixtures A tremendous stroke of the ego to know that we picked out a design for our home bath that smacks of high-end And finally, we had ants It’s summer, so it is to be expected that these guys want to beat the heat as well A few of them could be seen in several corners of the room shortly after check in It got a bit worse, so we were diligent about freezing food scraps and emptying our trash several times daily The patio showcases a stunning view of the waterfall courtyard And we could see the pool from our room as well, so it was a convenient way to check if it was too busy out there or not

Clean hotel, good customer service, spacious rooms But the pool were close during my entire 3 night stay My partner was on a business meeting and I was hoping relax while he work but I couldn’t do anything, the bar/restaurant closed from 11am to 5pm

The ice machine of the 4th floor didn’t work Nothing for lunch or drinks during afternoon hours The bar have a good entrees selection and the bartender was super friendly

My husband and I recently got married and stayed at this hotel with several of our guests We planned to pay for one of our guests Room & Tax so I called in advance to make sure we could do this, we were assured we could When we got to the hotel, we asked the front desk to please charge our card the room and tax for our friends room

We were told it was taken care of and our friends would simply need to come by the front desk to put down their credit card for incidentals and pick up their keys Hours later, I get a text from my friends saying that they were charged the room and tax because the credit card we put down got “deleted” We make our way back to the front desk to figure out what went wrong – the front desk agent told us her supervisor would look into it I had to be the one to ask how we would know it was taken care of, would someone be following up with us, etc, etc, there was no initiative to assure us Shortly after, we get a call from the supervisor and the supervisor asked us to come back downstairs to explain the situation At this point, it is the FOURTH time we are talking to someone to deal with a simple request The supervisor explained that our friends were indeed charged and the solution suggested to us? Just transfer money to our friends once the hold was released from our card This was all happening the day before our wedding and I still can’t fathom how a simple request became so complicated
