Although my stay was decent, I definitely wouldn’t call this place a “luxury” We stayed in a suite for 2 nights, which had 3 rooms One of the rooms had a bed that made noise any time you moved on it

The bathrooms are also completely false advertisement, they look nothing like the pictures The shower didn’t work properly, it would leak water from the sprinkler even when you only turned the water on However, I did enjoy the breakfast service they do, as well as the supply of drinks, though you do have to pay for them Ciqala did provide me a good experience while staying here, however, this place is not a luxury You’re only paying the high price because of the fact that this place is near the airport

Beauty on Location Studio

The pictures they use to advertise this place are not real, there is absolutely nothing luxurious about these “suites” the pool is the size of a hot tub and in the middle of the restaurant where everyone can see you, the hallways stink, our suite was in level 6 right under the kitchen and we were not able to sleep, it’s sooo noisy all night long, there were nails coming out of the dining chairs, so, so dangerous Some of the front desk staff spends the day smoking right outside by the main entrance I could go on and on, we were so disappointed and would not recommend it at all

20 stars at best This place is overpriced and rated

I purchased for $200/night on Hotwire, when my flight was cancelled and needed to purchase an additional night in Puerto Rico I stayed at La Concha for five “planned” nights The description is deceiving it is NOT in walking distance to the beach I walked for 40 minutes to get to the beach, because CIQALA is in a “sketchy” residential area, and I did not feel comfortable walking alone or at night alone I had to take an uber for everything, food, entertainment, a leisure walk and run I started running, but too many lose dogs and cats in the neighborhood The people at the front desk was nice, and many people visited the Eter bar and lounge on the rooftop I fell asleep around 11p, and was awakened to the fire alarms going off in the building When I got to the lobby floor to check the status of the fire I was told, that’s what happens when people smoke I tried to get cancel and get another room, but was told I would not be able to cancel The location is not for people looking to vacation, only if you are stuck in PR an extra night The room was spacious, but old and cheap looking The hallway wreaked of bleach as if a huge amount had to be used to cover something up, not for normal cleaning purposes I didn’t want to sit on anything or lie in the bed I slept atop of my suitcase and slept with the lights on The place just didn’t feel safe or clean I fell misled by HOTWIRE, as I have gotten some great last minute hotels with them Not this time STAY AWAY from this place, unless you are on a serious budget It was rated 4 starsa serious joke 2 stars at best I level up from motel status

The Wave Hotel has a lot of potential We enjoyed our stay The rooms were clean and comfy

The staff is very accommodating and friendly The jacuzzi was quite soiled and we didn’t want to go back in it Maybe we’ll try it again before we leave The continental breakfast offered is sufficient and varied The rooftop ambiance is very cozy and has amazing views

I booked with the ivy hotel originally then when I arrived they told me they don’t have a room for me and that I can go to the wave hotel and they will have one for sure I did that and I stayed at the wave hotel for 4 nights the room I originally booked with the ivy hotel was for 2 queen beds, and the one they gave me at the wave hotel was 2 single! Yes single beds I didn’t want to make a big deal about it and I took it anyways my mother and sister had to book another room because we wouldn’t all fit in one room So everything was fine we settled in and it was nice while we were there

They took a $100 deposit and said it will be back in my bank account the day I check out and I was fine with that I checked out and I haven’t received my deposit until this day now this been 23 days ever since I checked out I had called them almost everyday nobody ever answers, I emailed them too again no answer, and I don’t know what to do at this point I’m very upset never going there again!

The only good thing about this hotel is its location – it’s close to the Condado beach, restaurants, shopping etc I was definitely catfished by the photos I saw online The rooms were not clean, floors were sticky, the toilet and shower were barely functional, the water was out for like two days, and the air vent was super dusty

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days, and there was no house-keeping Considering the price I paid for a 3-night stay, it was not worth it at all

I stayed 6 days and the staff was great and very helpful Breakfast was plentiful and the servers were very health conscience

kasumiurapril

The shower head and pressure are so bad and literally have no space to hang towels Toilet is low and wide The sink is tiny

However, all the staff (front desk, breakfast attendants and housekeepers) are so nice which made us a wonderful stay! If they can improve the bathroom facilities,it would be worthy for a 5 star review Beach service is also great but you have to be there before 4pm

Pamela Jackman (PJ)

We enjoyed our stay We were greeted by Nick who was so thoughtful and welcoming! It was our first time in San Juan and the first stop after our flight We were checked in quickly

Our room was small but cozyThere was a slight smell but it did not deter our stay Water leaks from shower door but adjusting the shower head helped somewhatThe complimentary breakfast was delicious, especially the avena (oatmeal) The breakfast staff were so helpful and friendly!A short walk to the beach with nearby stores and restaurantsGreat location

We got the penthouse sweet on the top floor Definitely a Miami Vice theme! Breakfast was really good for a free breakfast & they supply beach chairs, towels, & umbrellas through their beach clubThe only major issue I have with this hotel is I was looking forward to the hot tub

Unfortunately, it was more like a tepid warm tub Other than that it was a good time

tamika jackson

So a lot of the reviews were correct, the air quality in this place is not good I live in New Orleans and have experienced buildings with excess moisture due to hurricane damage or climate This seems like that

It also causes it to smell Not saying you should do this, because candles in hotel rooms are a no-no, but I HAD to get a glade candle and a renuzit air freshener for the bathroom to sleep the second night Also had to call maintenance for the a/c which either didn’t work at all or was too cold There also a dehumidifier in the room so with that and the a/c running it’s LOUD!It VERY close to everything without the huge price tag, but I wished I had splurged for better accommodations The staff was super nice Any more than 2 nights I would left early for sure

Rachael Francis

After reading some of the comments it’s not that bad , we didn’t have to ask for towels they brought in plenty , the rooms were damp however that didn’t bother us You do have to pay for parking and I would think the hotel would give a discount The hotel is walking distant to the beach and all kinds of stuff

Our room didn’t smell Pool was nice The staff never communicated with us Breakfast might be a little cold but you have a microwave in your room Over all we loved Puerto Rico !!!

Stayed here for a whole week and i got to say this place was better than i thought it would be They definitely seem to take notes of what their reviews say For a example they cleaned the room each day and their service was very good

The room was great very nice inside, clean and very comfortable The only thing i wish the hotel had in the room would be a mini refrigerator other than that my stay was very good

MOLD, dirty and discriminatory Our $48 reservation turned into $97 really quickly Buyer beware! You will be charged $15 to park unless you want to park on the street and risk getting your car hit or mugged walking 4+ blocks away

We had a rental car therefore we couldn’t risk getting hit in the road and we are two women who didn’t know the area therefore couldn’t risk getting mugged The AC is intermittent and you go from being too hot to too cold The bathroom was not clean and the staff at the front desk was rude when we mentioned the mold problem stating verbatim “everything is fineeverything is fine” Said staff member also harassed us about parking in the $15 parking lot next day after she saw us parking there because she claimed she didn’t know we had parking stating “well there is no one back there so I’ll let it slide” Remember, we paid for this privilege Do not stay here

The Big G 73

It was one of the weirdest places I’ve ever stayed in Breakfast is included with the room but I asked for a second cup of coffee and was told it was one cup per customer that was included, so I told the waitress to charge me for the extra coffee and she told me she couldn’t do that either because each cup was accounted for each guest Huh?!?! 😳 I also found it too expensive and parking is not included for the guests staying there

They charge $15 per night Also, I asked if I could get an extra pillow delivered to my room because I have back problema and needed the extra pillow which I was also told no by the front desk Personnel is not friendly and all, I found them to be a bit hostil and unwelcoming You won’t get your money’s worth

Staff is friendly No thrills hotel Mainly have 2 stars because felt it was overpriced for the room

Room did have AC that worked well but had a bit of a musty smell Did have a mini fridge that worked well which was a plus Staff was helpful and willing to answer questions Quality of hotel Maintanence/ rooms outdated could be improved

Vianka Calderon

Price was about $200 for a night and while the location was worth it, the hotel was not Elevator worked the first day, but not the second and we had to go down 3 flights with luggage The room was very small and old fashioned

Floor was carpeted and beds are small Great view of old San Juan from our room Bathroom was tiny, but had everything we needed (toiletries, TP, towels, etc) Check in process was very fast and check out was simple drop of the key

Chet Moore

Good location but not for light sleepers on a main road and has a bar with live music upstairs The rooms are old and dingy with mold stains in the bathroom and stains in the carpet The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed in a while

The air conditioning has no thermostat just a on and off switch I don’t get the positive reviews for this property

The Cervantes is located in Old San Juan You are within walking distance of nearly everything Plus, there is a free trolley that stops right in front of the hotel as well

This hotel is smaller than what I had expectedBut the rooms are very clean and nice We were greeted by friendly staff that gave us a map of Old San Juan and showed us around a bit When we walked into our room, we had 2 bottles of cold water, and our ice bucket was nice and full The bed is fairly comfy (a bit kn the firm side)But the sheetsOh my, they are amazingly soft! The shower is tiled and has good water pressure There were robes as well as nice complimentary toiletries Complimentary breakfast as well, served from 8:30-10:30 Small selection, but it did have wait service, which I found to be rather nice Good working A/CSo we were never hot Overall, this has bee A good experience for us!

Jenelle Richins

Room and bathroom were big & the bed was comfortable The biggest issue we had was that the window/doors to outside were so thin that you could hear everything going on in the street below and it was an area where people would be walking around and screaming until late into the night, so it was very difficult to fall asleep The other issue was that the doors to get inside your room were so heavy that they could only slam shut with a large bang

This also made it very difficult to sleep Very nice hotel other than the noises & a great location in walking distance to the cruise port for Carnival!

Nathan Scott

The location was right in Old San Juan, the staff was very helpful and respectful The room a/c unit worked well which was important regarding the weather outside in San Juan There was a balcony that looked over the street with some nice Spaniard-influenced architecture

Carpet was less pleasurable than expected, definitely needed a deep clean- but the hotel was overall well kept and was much nicer on the inside than the outside 4 stars well deserved

The rooms were beautiful It was very clean The people working were so kind and helpful

I called before and they really worked with me The pool was nice The roof had a nice view It was missing a few things (such as a phone in the room), but it’s a boutique hotel It was a very wonderful stay It was also the perfect location to the beach, restaurants and bars

Brandon Cummings

Great staff they took care of us from start to finish Kept my rates the same when I wanted to add a day Went above and beyond to provide a clean room throughout the stay

Had beach towels and chairs for us to take out for the day Suggested great food and bar locations even had a printout of best coffee and food restuarants nearby Attended to any need on time and with a smile Even let us use beach chairs after check out until we left to catch flight home We will only use this hotel when staying in San Juan Thank you!

Aniya Jones

Bait and switch!!!Don’t bother! I booked the hotel because they said they had a hot tub and breakfast which is not true they do not have a heater for the hot tub so the pool is always cold and they do not have continental breakfast at the property in order to use the hot tub and get breakfast you have to walk 5 minutes to another hotel and have to have a reservation for the hot tub! Don’t waste your money!!!
