We stayed two nights at the Quirk for a wedding held at the hotel The hotel is super cute (pink themed but tasteful) and lives up to its name Our room was spacious and clean, but the closet is small

The room had bottled water, coffee, and tea It also had a steamer, which was a nice addition The bed was very comfortable and they had a white noise machine! The staff was great, and the rooftop has amazing views

Jesse Chapman

I randomly picked this hotel based on it’s name alone Very good call to spend the night here From opening lobby to the roof top bar, just a solid performance all around

The room was spacious and modern The rooftop bar has open air spaces as well as a cool retro vibe bar insideGreat location for local eateries too check out the tapas place across the streetAll in all, I would gladly stay here again

This is the best hotel I have stayed at in a while The design and aesthetics are extremely coherent, modern, and soothing We were upgraded to a balcony suite (booked through AMEX Hotel Collection) and the room was incredible

The service is also amazing The staff always opened the front door, the folks at the front desk were extremely friendly, and the baristas at the cafe were greatWe will be coming back to this hotel, for sure

the hotel is in a beautiful location and the lobby is sophisticated the indoor pool is in a very interesting place because when you walk in the front door of the hotel you can look down and see the indoor pool it’s beautifully designedthe restaurant is quite nice, really like the ambiance, the bartender is friendly and we ordered a few appetizers that were quite delicious

the rooms are okay not great and the bathroom is super super smallwe were on the 9th floor and the views are spectacular we lucked into a thunderstorm too so it was beautiful to see from that perspective so many mountains!

A+ For everyone at the front desk and at the restaurant in this lovely DoubleTree hotel Every employee was kind, friendly, and helpfulB+/A+ For their famous butter-made cookie

The cookie we first got on check-in was good, but dry It wasn’t as fresh as it could have been, and clearly had been under the heat lamp for too long But the next morning when we asked for an extra cookie for the road it was chewy, perfect, and yummyA- For the room, which was overall clean and luxuriousB+ For the food in the restaurant My salmon dinner was tasty My oatmeal in the morning was a bit watery, but the fresh blueberries on top were really goodC- For the coffee Yikes The coffee in the lobby was weak and watery The coffee in the restaurant was strong but had bad flavor The in-room coffee maker coffee was also mediocre DoubleTree needs to upgrade its coffee significantly This was not the quality that an upscale Hilton brand hotel should have Conrad Hilton would be turning over in his grave Some money needs to be spent by Hilton to fix and stop Conrad from spinning aroundA For the landscaping around this hotel, which is really nice

Tiarra Ebony

This an old building but decent for a short stay They have a nice dining area !I was double booked and looked to be charged incorrectly I called this morning to see if I could get a few questions answered

Paula needs customer service training or pulled from the front desk She’s very inhospitable She first proceeded to tell me to contact my bank without even looking to see when I checked outThen when I explain the situation she places me on hold then comes back with an attitude to get my name and reservation information Then she proceeds to tell me everything but what I asked for Which was , did the second reservation get canceled on their end Easy Question

Highly, highly recommend The Draftsman We recently stayed at the Draftsman the weekend of our daughter’s wedding Everything was top notch

Employees were friendly and eager to please, the rooms were beautiful and comfortable Mini bar offerings were reasonably priced and varied Hotel’s valets were friendly and quick I would definitely stay here again and again It was very refreshing to have such a top notch experience after many disappointing stays at area Hilton properties Don’t make our mistake, start here, stay here

Margaret E

We took shelter at this hotel during a recent snow storm/ extended power outage First of all, the staff, especially Walter, was so excellent and helpful They were inundated with locals trying to get warm, and they handled it so well

The beds are VERY comfortable I’m picky and this is important to meThe common area is nice My husband and daughter worked there during the day It was hard to find the coffee/ tea stationThe shower was lovely as were the toiletriesMy only complaint would be the restaurant downstairs, although I’m not sure how closely it is tied to the hotel Service was awful, and one menu item was ridiculously expensive! This is not a Michelin star restaurant! The lobster roll was pretty good Cornbread was delicious! However you are within close walking distance of so many restaurants so it’s not really a problemParking/ valet can be a bit of a pain, but they’re trying! All in all, I recommend everything about this hotel!

ian white

We stayed at the Draftsman before fishing the James River this week It was just me and my son We checked in late afternoon

Process was pretty quick and easy Valet parking was the only parking option and $18 / night Valet was super nice We walked to ‘the mall’ to meet friends for dinner and it was under 1 mile There were a number of cool restaurants along the way The bar was hoping when we got back but we didn’t go in I got bonus points and option for breakfast voucher for 2 ($30) or additional points Opted for points as the restaurant wasn’t open until 7am (when we had to leave) Nice large room, all the amenities we needed Place was clean and staff was courteous Good spot in Charlottesville

I have stayed at the Dinsmore twice now and had lovely experiences both times Last year, we used the front room for our family-only Covid friendly wedding ceremony It was wonderful and the hospitality is amazing

This year, we stayed again for the weekend while we had our big wedding and used the Jefferson Suite for my bridesmaids to get ready Veda was very professional and welcomed us personally She always has her sweet pup with her, which is cute, but we are both allergic and were surprised she let him follow us into our cleaned room At the end of our stay, our card on file was charged without us getting to look at the final bill, which was a little disappointing as we would have liked to change the card that would be charged We were finally able to do that after some back and forth with Veda about it, which was nice, but it seemed like we were really bothering her for asking

Evan McMillin

Very cute and hospitable Inn Stayed two nights and had a lovely time The staff was on top of everything and the room was very intimate and functional

Parking is not an issue and the downstairs brunch restaurant is phenomenal and included in the stayThey contacted us with directions well ahead of time and worked to swap our downstairs room with an upstairs room to accommodate an older couple staying there We were comped the room upgrade and they even threw in a bottle of wine with the room

Lucille O

Wow! If you are traveling from NY to FL, take 81 S instead of I 95 and stay here! The rooms are impeccably clean, comfortable, and captivating! The proprietor, Veda, was a perfect host Her staff made you feel like you were the only one there Oh, and breakfast was out-of-this-world delicious

We recommend the blueberry scones with peach jam, the bananas foster French toast, and the fried green tomato blt No need to stop at Starbucks The endless coffee at breakfast was rich and full-bodied They even offer oat milk or almond milk in addition to half and half Our server Emmy was attentive and personable Enjoy your stay! We did and can not wait to return!

The good: incredibly friendly staff Our AC didn’t work and they immediately sent somebody up I truly can’t say enough nice things about the status, they bent over backwards to try and remedy an issue I had

The bad: the beds were hard as rocks It wasn’t just the first room We informed them our bed was very uncomfortable and they moved us to a new room right away I was informed they recently replaced all the beds, unfortunately for me I have a hard time sleeping on hard beds, I didn’t sleep more than three hours the entire three nights we stayed hereThe hotel was extremely outdated, especially in the bathrooms and bedrooms The tub literally creaked when stepping into it Peeling walls, old musty smell The bathroom tile had lots of chips in it It was just very worn all overOverall take away is the employees are fantastic, but the hotel owners desperately need to update this property

Kenyon Bajus

Rooms were clean and comfortable Rooms were quiet Stayed in a handicapped room

Surprised it had a tub and not a roll-in shower Fridge and microwave included AC worked well Parking is in an underground garage and costs $10/day Free WiFi was slow and unusable Better off tethering your laptop to your phone No free breakfast Location was convenient

Kari Sarpotdar

The mattress in this hotel in incredibly uncomfortable I never write reviews, but I want to warn everyone I’ve traveled to many countries, and never has a mattress been so uncomfortable

There is absolutely no support We stayed here in April, and I’ll never forget- in my thirties, but woke up with sharp, stabbing pains near my ribs and lower back was just so sore Took me a few days to figure out side sleeping and back sleeping on that mattress left me with immense pain in the morning My husband felt the exact same way I’ll never stay here again unless they invest in a quality mattress No other issues

Based on my children’s rating, this was their least liked hotel we stayed at on our trip The room had a very off odor, hotel was booked up so there were no other rooms to switch to The bathroom had mold in several areas as pointed out by one of the children

The elevator and exercise room looked the most modern The pool and hot tub were off color so nobody swam that stay

Megan Chandler-Melton

We reserved a block of rooms for our wedding weekend in April, and our guests were very happy with the room condition, service, and beautiful grounds The patio space was especially nice, and some rooms overlook the pond Our guests also found the proximity to Piedmont Kitchen & Bar very convenient

The guest services team was responsive and able to help me with all of my planning questions Overall, I would recommend this hotel to any couple planning a wedding in Charlottesville

West Coast Labels

An excellent hotel with an amazing staff The room was exactly what I wanted and expected The view was breathtakingly beautiful

If there was one criticism I have, it is that the elevators were a little jarring and shaky and made my wife and daughter uncomfortable But we would stay here again, and will look at Hilton Garden Inn’s other locations in the future

We stayed three nights and recommend this hotel April at the front desk is extremely helpful and kind! Real glasses and coffee mugs in the rooms, a hot shower with great pressure, and the breakfast were pluses The bathroom door has a wonky latch and we could hear other guests slamming doors a bit more than other hotels it seemed, but these problems didn’t really bother us

Definitely will stay here again—nice location is part of that

What a wonderful resort to celebrate at We came here for our anniversary and from the very beginning Elle set the tone She was so helpful with making us feel special

Jim was so friendly and always there to make sure we were taken care of Moira, Brittney, and Dirk were incredibly helpful with suggestions on how to spend our time They recommended the Spa which 10/10 massages! This is an amazing getaway with amazing views, fun activities, and even friendlier customer service!

Monique Lynch

The pet friendly rooms are all in basement level rooms in one of the least desirable buildings in the resort The rooms itself was comfortable but smelled of mold and was not cleaned very well The resort itself I thought seemed a bit dated and run down

The other thing I found concerning was none of the exterior doors to the bld we were staying in locked despite appearing to have fobs and literally every single street lamp and walkway light was burnt out so you are completely in the dark coming back to your room after dinner Overall a bit disappointing and definitely not worth the money we paid Lastly there were children screaming and running and playing in the hallway well past 10pm and all management did was take the $20 resort fee off our bill

I was pleasantly surprised when I visited Oakhurst The hotel bears this quaint, flamboyant demeanor; as if I had traveled in time and to the correct dimension The room was finished nicely, clean, spacious, and vibrant

The area is relatively close to many attractions, which was ideal But lastly, what really made this stay most captivating was the staff Companies do not understand how having staff that appreciates and enjoys where they work carries such precedence with customers You can tell that the staff treat the hotel like their own home The entire experience was a breath of fresh air and I would do it again

Natalie Tatum

We had the best stay at the Oakhurst Inn The rooms are basic but nicely appointed, and it was convenient to have the salt water pool, full bar and delicious cafe all right there What really made our stay was the incredible staff

Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and helpful Chris was at the front desk most of our stay and always went above and beyond We also enjoyed meeting Reagan behind the bar! We hope to be back soon!

Matt Penman

Nice place, great staff, they are great at the valet service The bed was comfortable, updated bathroom, nice atmosphere The only issue we had was with the air conditioner, as it had to be reset multiple times, the room was 80 degrees, we were tired and I had surgery early in the morning

So, I was cranky (I deleted my earlier review) The following night, they were sure to have the air conditioner working I wish I could have enjoyed the Monday jazz, I sure it was great I would go back but I think the air conditioning needs an upgrade

We had a great weekend at Keswick The entire experience was great and we will likely visit again The hotel has just been renovated but more like rebuilt and it’s pristine and beautiful

The attention to detail in the planning and choice of materials and tradesmen used did not go unnoticed Beautiful workmanship and quality built into the structure will ensure it’s beauty for years to come This is not a hastily refurbished hotel Staff was wonderful Looking forward to the new spa

Five stars! this property will amaze you and beyond your any expectation From staffs at the front, marigold, and spotless clean room, my review cannot fully explain the level of satisfaction in my recent stay You know what! I quickly booked another stay in this May on the way back home

I am looking forward to seeing more warm weather in this May 🙂

Whatever you do DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED We were trying to celebrate a special occasion and that went out the window

First off the pool is not adults only They are renovating the club and therefore allow members to use the main hotel pool You will enjoy your pool stay with kids and there will be no chairs in the shade If you want to get a chair in the shade you will need to spend $250 to get a cabana Rooms were fine, nothing to write home about Breakfast included with the SLH program is three mini pastries This hotel should not be charging the rate it charges a night

Was traveling with spouse and teen Got upgraded to a suite which was fantastic My teen loved having his own room with TV and bathroom

Breakfast was standard, but always appreciated Outside traffic was slightly noisy in the morning, but expected if staying downtown Suite was fairly clean, but I did find a half-filled water bottle on the floor near the chair in the master bedroom Overall a good stay

Crystal N

Clean, sleek and stylish hotel that’s kept in immaculate condition Stayed last weekend from Friday to Sunday and everything was perfect The property is very beautiful for a family oriented Residence Inn property, the lobby well styled, the front desk very friendly and welcoming

Our room was on 7th floor and it was sparkling clean, smelled fresh, everything looked in good condition The hallway walls and carpet all clean and smelled fresh The GM Ms Regina Dodd even reached out to us to follow up on our room request and she was very courteous and welcoming Having been Lifetime Platinum Elite member (even Titanium at some point) we have stayed at hundreds of different Marriott properties all over US and other countries but this property Residence Inn Charlottesville Downtown has exceeded our expectations and standards on a number of levels Can’t wait to stay here on our trips while visiting our kid at U of V

Janine Fusco

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this hotel We were part of a large group for a long-term stay which proved to be challenging at times Shelley was fantastic

She was always professional, accommodating, helpful and friendly The other standout was Heather She too was exceptional The hotel was well run, clean, and a great place to stay I would highly recommend a stay here

Avid, avid traveler so have seen my fair share of hotels Was really looking forward to giving the Graduate brand a try — and unfortunately an all-around awful experience on our weekend stayWhen we checked in, we were given keys and a room number (written clearly on the card)

We go up to “our” room, and find that…someone else was staying in that room We quickly close the door and go downstairs to get a new room since we, uh, just walked in on a room where others were clearly staying Good example and reminder to always keep your room door locked! What a weird mistake on the front desk’s endAfter we get to our room, we find it’s not very clean Hair in the sink and shower, floors are dirty in various spots, and even a half finished box of wine in a drawer?Room overall felt pretty dated and eclectic (in a negative way) The game room floor was pretty out of date as wellOnly giving two stars because front desk seemed helpful and the rooftop outside deck was niceDefinitely won’t be visiting this “four-star hotel” again

Great staff, particularly Matthew and Patrick Hotel has a great rooftopHowever, rooms are tired and could do with thicker doors and walls (for better soundproofing)

The third floor is also in front of the parking lot and some of my family reported having headlights flash into their room into the early hoursThe property needs investment to match the calibre of care provided by the staff and to justify the prices

I don’t understand the negative reviews of this place Not trying to diminish anyone’s experience or opinion, but my recent stay was superb From the room itself — with the charming décor details and very comfortable bedding to the rooftop restaurant’s tasty snacks and drinks, I really felt like I was staying someplace special and not cookie cutter

However, the best part of visit was each and every interaction with the staff members From the front desk, to housekeeping, to the lady working the coffee bar in the lobby, everyone was kind and welcoming I will not hesitate to book a room at Graduate Charlottesville the next time I am in the area

Wife and I took two dogs to Charlottesville and stayed here one night We arrived 2 hours early and were offered early check in without asking Pet policy was clearly explained and absolutely the most reasonable we’ve encountered

The hotel staff was courteous and pleasant The room was a solo King and was spotless Many older hotels have a dampness in the air, but there was nothing amiss here Facilities worked, and everything was clean We will be back

You get what you pay for Everywhere feels warm and stuffy, elevator doors sometimes open, a bunch of workers hanging out in the pool area smoking and drinking packs of beer while my kids and I were swimming both days of our stay, even though signs say not to smoke The first room we got put in we opened the pull out couch and it was full of stains and large crumbs

The sink and sheets had hairs We changed rooms and it was better, but that experience was so gross that it made me wonder if they actually clean things Do not stay here, definitely not an enjoyable family stay

Being graduation weekend, by the time we looked for a hotel (2 months in advance), the Holiday Inn Charlottesville-Monticello was our only option When we arrived in our room at Holiday Inn Charlottesville/Monticello, there were dirty napkins on the table by the lamp and trash between the sheets and comforter It was evident that they didn’t clean the room between parties

Since the hotel was fully booked, they were only able to give us new sets of sheets and comforters for us to remake the bedsThe beds were comfy However, the room was poorly designed – If you need to shut the lights off by the bed, there’s a high chance of hitting your head on the bed frame; If you want to access the closet, no one can use the bathroom and vice versa; and The glass wall in the shower is off the frame and looks like it’s gonna fallThe AC was really loud throughout the day and night The room had little flies They offer coffee and hot tea and iced water for all hotel guests However, they don’t offer complimentary breakfast for guests, but they offer a hot breakfast buffet for $1699/person Luckily, there was a Starbucks and Waffle House that was a short walking distance from the hotel
