Such an amazing experience here Caroline took great care of us! She went above and beyond to upgrade our stay and we had the best view able to watch fireworks from our hotel room She also gave us brochures for things to do in the area and discussed parking! I would 10/10 recommend staying here especially when staff like Caroline are this amazing and go above and beyond to make your stay incredible! Thank you!!

I attended the Marriott for a conference and I live 30 minutes away so I did not get a room However, all of the conference rooms were clean and the bathrooms were spotless Every single bathroom was amazing all day and I was there from 7:30-5:30 and used every single one from the second, third, and fourth floors

Parking was not the best but I partially blame myself for missing the garage with the tunnel you can walk through I parked a block away but the walk was slightly refreshing The service staff were friendly and kind It appears to be a nice hotel Maybe I’ll stay one day and review the rooms

The staff made this place great! We stayed here for a week and half while apt hunting The bed was comfy, the room clean, and the staff beyond friendly The continental breakfast was pretty big, though I chose to eat my own food

The pool was small, but people enjoyed it every night Most of the hotel staff was very friendly and made staying in a single room for an extended period of time more bearable I highly recommend staying here if you need a hotel in the Chesapeake area

Natasha Bentley

I stayed for week for a business trip The hotel was very clean The breakfast was wonderful

All the staff was super friendly and helpful but one particular member stood out, Miss Tracy at the front desk made my visit fun not only did she help me with every request that I had but she put a smile on my face every day when I walked in the lobby! I plan on staying here again for future visits, highly recommend!!

My son lives in Chesapeake, and when we go to visit this is where I stayThere are lots of Marriott properties in the area It’s not the fanciest, it’s not the cheapest

The rooms are basic, but very clean Breakfast is standard Coffee is goodI come here because of the staff These are some of the friendliest and most professional hotel people I’ve ever met (I’m a Titanium member, so you know I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the years!) I’ve stayed at very expensive Marriotts who could learn a thing or two about welcoming customers from this little hotel in Virginia (I’m looking at you Toronto Marriott!)This is the best place to stay in Chesapeake!

Room was comfortable and well appointed We were very happy and the front desk staff was courteousWhat made our stay was the restaurant staff

Tasha & Mimi were outstanding and exceeded our expectations Our table was set beautifully, the service was attentive and, when we shared that we were staying for our anniversary, they surprised us with waffles with cute heart shaped fruits skewers in our juice – truly the extra mile!!! A small token, but incredibly sweet and guest centered That kindness and unexpected surprise will bring us back to The Sheraton Waterside again!

Daveron Rosier-Critten

The hotel is beautiful! The stars belong to the restaurant for it’s very tasty food and EXCELLENT service The waiter/bar tender was absolutely incredible He was so attentive and personable

He gave us 5 star service and went to great lengths to make sure we had an amazing experience I had the crab cake sandwich (YUMMY) I’ve heard so much about the she crab soup too

Abby Sjogren

We came here for a wedding and had a great experience! The staff at the front desk were super friendly and the room was very clean We has lunch one of the days at the restaurant in the lobby and the food was fantastic I had the Cobb (which was huge) and my Husband loved his grilled chicken sandwich

Our server Tasha S was so nice and took great care of us The manager on duty, Mimi, was also super kind and gave us some great recommendations of things to do in the area!

Recently stayed here for two weeks During my time here they installed new larger TVs in all the rooms Staff is amazing, very helpful and friendly

After talking to one he made it clear that he worked for the customers, without us they would not be there, he would try to fix any problems Great location, close to everything and easy access to the highway I got in quite late and completely checked in on my phone and used my phone as a key via the Hilton app the whole time

Coach G Denise Hardy

I am a Hilton rewards member Reviews are deceiving There was mold in my room

Everything was outdated The toilet didn’t flush We actually left after 1 day bc they could not find an acceptable room We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and it was 1000% better I would never stay there again They need to remodel immediately Staff was great

This Hotel is definitely a beautiful hotel however I’ve had better for the price You don’t get room service if you do not ask we was told we had to ask for fresh clean towels and if we wanted our beds made

Our hotel room floor was extremely dusty The jacuzzi wasn’t available for use Only 2 elevators were working from the 4 that was available We paid $$850 for 2 days Definitely not worth it Only great part about this hotel is the view and the aesthetic of the rooms

Kyra Timberlake

Beautiful hotel with an amazing view of Norfolk! The rooms were also very clean! The staff was very nice and welcoming There was only an indoor pool and it was a bit outdated There were 2 family reunions and some other event going on this weekend, so it was very crowded

It took us over an hour to get our wings and fries but it they were delicious so I guess it was worth it The drinks from the bar were also very good! Will definitely stay again, hopefully when it’s not as crowded

Candace Armstead

The hotel is very beautiful The waterfront view is amazing! The bar is open until 1230 and they have an indoor fireplace as well as outdoor fire pits The room is clean and modern

The service is awesome! They allowed us to check in early when we arrivedHowever, the breakfast was terrible quality The eggs are powdered, the potatoes had no seasoning, the bacon was thin with no taste The French toast was soggy and undercooked We ended up leaving and went to waffle House The toilet paper is only one ply and there is only one towel hook in the bathroom There is also no microwave in the room but there is a small refrigeratorOverall this hotel was great for entertaining Close to the strip and a cute boardwalk But they cut corners on quality

Great hotel Nice location Room was a nice size

Plenty of parkingThe check-in staff and others I interacted with were exceptional (received fresh towels quickly upon request from Mr Lawrence) The breakfast was OUTSTANDING! So much to choose from and the folks running it (Ms Rose, Tim and Robin) kept everything stocked and cleanThe only reason for the 4 star rating was the ceiling in my room had wet spots and peeling as if there was a water leak and they were some dark spots that concerned me about possible mold Also, the comforter or duvet had stains all over it It was late and I was only staying one night so I didn’t make too much of a deal about it and was able to use a different blanket for the night: however, in the morning, when I spoke to the head of Housekeeping, Ms Capria, she was apologetic and very receptive, agreeing that, that is not acceptable I really felt as if she was going to take care of that to ensure another guest has a better experienceOverall great stay

Maggie D

This hotel is fine If you’re looking for a “business” hotel, I would recommend the Marriot or something of that class, as this is a decent budget hotel and guests / amenities / facilities reflect that If you’re in for a short stay, and have reasonable expectations, it should be fine

Pros:Room seemed very clean, bed was comfortable, staff was pleasant and helpful, continental breakfast is pretty good, coffee is available pretty much all day They do have a fitness center but it is very smallCons:Walls are very thin I could hear my neighbor’s phone ring and every word of his conversation, so if you have someone loud in the hallway or the next room, you’ll hear them As a solo female traveler, I was slightly uncomfortable at times Not enough to be very worried, but just enough that I was aware of my surroundings and made sure I was dead-bolting my door

Pamela Brennan

The front desk personnel were kind & welcoming The room & bathroom were spotless! The morning breakfast was very yummy While it was the usual fare for the free breakfast Tim, Rose & Robin did a great job to make sure everything was top notch …

fresh, hot & plentiful They were readily available if you needed anything & happy to help

It’s a very pretty hotel, but I HONESTLY do think that it’s a bit priceyThe rooms and the hotel itself are pretty clean, and they have such AMAZING grounds There are many activities that you can do here and they are located in a great area

If driving a bit to the beach isn’t a problem to you, then you should consider this placeOne of the reasons why I will not give this place 5 stars is because of the showers in the rooms They are great, spacious, and THANK GOD no tubs… BUT, the only problem that I found a bit annoying was how a lot of water would “escape” in between the doors while me and my family showered We had to ask for extra towels to put on the floor and in front of the doorAnother thing was that the outdoor pool didn’t seem to be cleaned in a while It was such a pretty pool, but I believe that with just a LITTLE more care it would be perfectThey do have life guards on duty, which is good if you have kidsLast but not least: DUCKS! They are everywhere and they are just SO CUTE, seriously, mama duck and her ducklings were stealing the showAlso, before I forget, they do have a restaurant inside and their food is very good Here you can see the menu attached with the prices The pizza is good enough for the price!

Julie Poole

This is a quiet hotel with a lot of room and nice amenities The decor is a bit dated, but the rooms are quiet and clean They have a great dog park for people traveling with their pets

Made the stay much easier for me The staff was friendly and helpful They were shorthanded, but, I think that is the way all of the service industry is at this point Even so, they did a great job 🙂

Megan Abbott

I didn’t want to leave this hotel! Super friendly staff upon arrival Gorgeous lobby & grounds Cozy room that felt spacious & clean

Separate buildings really cut down on noise You felt tucked away in a little private oasis We had a view of the courtyard from our room It was great to wake up and see the water from our room Ducks greeted us as we walked outside! Great all the way around, highly recommend!!

Beautiful, well kept property and decor! Very nice hotel and staff We enjoyed the hotel room, it was very clean and the bed is extremely comfortable The colors are warm and inviting with a nice sized bathroom

I love the large floor to ceiling window and there is plenty of lighting, outlets and charging available The lobby has spacious sitting areas, additional food and drink options, a bar, Cafe and marketplace shop There is an indoor pool as wellThey also have two free bottles of water waiting in your room! This will definitely be our go to when we are staying in the Norfolk area, highly recommended

Heather Cole

Overall our stay was good and we were satisfied The hotel is in a great location close to the highway, well lit, & has amenities to compliment any travel goerThe staff was friendly, personable & able to accommodate our needs

Our disappointment was the lack of cleanliness of our room A half used toilet paper roll, the refrigerator & cabinet were both so damaged & stained, things left under the bed from previous guests, etc The gym’s mirror has a black crust-spots near the trashcan/cleaning wipes that could use an attentive eye, otherwise it’s a great a space! If it weren’t for this, our stay would have been a 5-star

Daniel Z. Tick

I stayed at the Delta Chesapeake Norfolk last month and had a pretty negative experience When I first arrived, the room I was given had a very foul smell and—frankly—did not seem to have been thoroughly cleaned (For example, there was a discarded wrapper by the trashcan next to the television that must have been missed when cleaning

) I decided to request a different room, although admittedly I only asked for a room further away from the elevators, rather than complaining about the condition of the room, because I didn’t want to make a big deal of it The woman at the front desk was polite, but told me the hotel was fully booked and they had no other rooms available Upon returning to my room, I used the bathroom and realized the toilet was not flushing properly, at which point I returned to the front desk and again asked for a different room The woman said a maintenance person would have to inspect the bathroom before they could give me a new room I waited for the maintenance person (who was very nice and helpful) and, when he arrived, he called the front desk, and told them I needed a new room Then, I had to go downstairs for a third time to exchange my room key and get a new key for the new room (apparently, now they did have other rooms available?) By the time the whole thing was resolved, and I was settled into my new room, I was running late for the event that I traveled to Norfolk for in the first place Also worth mentioning, the new room didn’t seem much cleaner than the first room I certainly don’t expect perfection, but I expected a lot more from Delta

Overall, good hotel, with decent rooms that look clean and are comfortable A few small updates would help, but nothing major The location is perfect, especially if trying to break up the trip to OBX

Plenty of restaurants and a mall nearby to occupy time if needed The service is fair, and usually friendly, but lacking some professionalism at times in interacting with guests We’ve had a couple of occasions where it seemed like we were a bit of a nuisance Breakfast has a good variety and the breakfast staff are sweet and do a wonderful job!

Michelle Coates

Pros: Front Desk was nice and gave great customer service My room was clean Elevators and Ice Machines worked

The outlets in the room workedCons: The shower was leaking from behind the wall and ceiling Made a mess in the bathroom because of this leak The towel rack was rusted There is no fan in the bathroom The store that they had inside of the hotel did not have water They did not even have complementary water in the room The channels on the TV did not have a clear pictureThe stay was not bad for one night but I wouldn’t have want to stay more than one night They need to refresh their upgrades because the plumbing isn’t right

Carrie Bee

The room was decent size and the beds were comfortable but there was so much noise in the hallway by intoxicated guests carrying on that I got NO sleep before I had to be up for a 6am flight The air conditioning fan made no sound so there was nothing to drown out any noise including the cars outside A car alarm went off a few times

People were laughing loudly in the parking lot off and on all night It was a miserable stay

This hotel has a lot of promise that it will, hopefully, one day live up to On the plus side, location is good, hotel looks newer, room is comfortable, the valet parking is nice and staff are friendly Unfortunately, I experienced a few issues during my stay: 1) when I went into my room there was this really loud noise that sounded like a fire alarm going of – it was confined to my room though

It turned out the alarm clock malfunctioned and was going off continuously This was addressed once I called the front desk 2) This hotel uses “environmentally friendly” soap dispensers Unfortunately, to be environmentally friendly they leave them completely empty 2 out 3 were completely out (body wash and conditioner) I stay at hotels every week and I HATE these dispensers because hotels never check them They are my biggest pet peeve I’m so happy when I see the small bottles and a soap bar since I know I have everything I need and I’m not some idiot hopping into the shower realizing I have no soap at all to wash myself with 3) The shower in my room was not clean There was an array of hair on the floor from different people (long black hair, blonde hair, brown hair) Either a family had just stayed in the room (unlikely due to the size) or this represented poor cleaning across several different guests

Maggie Ballantyne

This hotel is clean, close to the best attractions downtown, and has the friendliest and most accommodating staff Loni at the front desk made sure our stay was beyond our expectations and our family had everything we needed She was fabulous! If you are planning a fun filled family get away, I highly recommend the Courtyard by Marriott and it’s staff

Janel Rossetto

First management did a very poor job in that my reservation was disregarded to allow for a baseball team to extend their stay After 4 hours of driving and arriving late, I was forced to go to another hotel (which was very dirty) I had a meeting at the hotel so I had to stay somewhere else and come back for my meeting

Anyway, once they had room for me, I came back and fully enjoyed the hotel My room was very clean, great size for working and working out, fitness room was perfect and the conference room was comfortable Staff were all very nice

Thank goodness for great customer service Aliyah was super awesome! She works the front desk I had an issue and she quickly jumped in and resolved my problem without a sour face! Her customer service skills are unmatched! The hotel itself is okay

I wouldn’t necessarily book there again The place needs to be cleaned better House keeping definitely needs a do over With better management the place would be pretty cool The modern feel is there but lacks cleanliness I love pets, but you could definitely hear the dogs 🐕 barking all night Walls are very thin So if you are looking for a good night’s sleep, forget about it The only reason they get 4 stars is because of the great customer service

N. Rey

For the price, stay somewhere else They do not provide full housekeeping service (even when you stay Monday – Friday) They only gave us new towels

Our bed was never made Our sheets were never changed The building is HOTThe bar service & food are good Stay somewhere else and visit the barThe building is generally hot throughout The air in the room doesn’t actually ever meet the temperature on the thermostat It completely went out one night Maintenance came the next day and got the temperature down But still not to the 67 degrees on the thermostat

Gary Burghart

Modern hotel The rooms are small but clean No drawers to store clothes

Two things were very irritating The HVAC controls were pretty locked down You can pretty much just increase/decrease temperature…and it takes forever, you can’t hear any fan or feel any air! Spent my first two days sweating and my last two days freezing Secondly, I was there with a group of five other rooms They have multiple types of federal and government rates, due to a technicality, mine did not include breakfast but everybody else’s did even though we were all paying similar cost I brought this up to the hotel and they refused to adjust my rate Breakfast is included at practically every other hotel in the area One highlight, we enjoyed the bar in the evenings—-the bartenders were friendly and the live music was great Bottom line from a Hilton diamond member who decided to give Marriott a try—-disappointed in this hotel

Over all great kid friendly place to stay In the rooms have refrigerator but the ice maker really didn’t work and we asked for ice because there is not ice on each floor but the person wasn’t really nice when we asked for some, the kitchen didn’t have all it says it says it has Why I have a 4 star

But again still would come stay again

M Reaves

Decent hotel that is walking distance from downtown Norfolk The front desk staff are great I was upgraded to a two bed and two batch suite with a kitchen

The room is big even though I didn’t need the space The road noise outside (from the 6th floor) is pretty loud And the room is a little dated and worn It will need a refresh in 2023 or 2024

EXCELLENT Customer service by hotel staff and beautiful property Although parking was a long tedious process during our stay because the garage key/enrty wasn’t working the hotel staff was kind and patient with a few rude inpatient guestsWill definitely return

An incredible stay! It was only for one night, but I am in love I was greeted with a glass of Prosecco and shown to my room where the attention to detail was outstanding Snacks, drinks, etc

Walking distance to really yummy restaurants, and the breakfast that was delivered to my room this morning was AMAZING The bed is comfy & luxurious, so is the bathroom So worth the money! I can’t wait to come back

I’m actually a wedding photographer (and didn’t stay here myself although I did spend the whole day) but I’m reviewing because people need to know how amazing of a venue this is for small weddings/elopements! My couple decided to elope in Norfolk’s Freemason District at the Inn because they loved how cute the cobblestone-street neighborhood is and because of how charming the Inn is itself They booked the whole Inn for their family and wedding party to stay for the days surrounding their celebrationAs a photographer, I loved how much thought was put into the design of the rooms

The bride got ready in the room on the top floor and it made my job easy- Large windows and a skylight in the stairwell to let in plenty of light, neutral colored yet fun pattered walls, beautiful furnishings that made for great backgrounds when capturing their details, and a bright clean room off to the side for the bride to slip into her dress without the bridesmaids seeing- it all made for great pictures and a laid-back fun getting ready experienceAll day the staff was so helpful and friendly! And not just to the bride and groom, but to their family, and myself and the other vendors as well They went out of their way to make sure that I had ordered something to eat and had a place to sit as well (which is less common than you might think + the food was delicious) When the wedding timeline needed to be adjusted on the fly, the Inn’s event staff was easy to communicate and collaborate with so everyone was on the same page and things kept flowing smoothlyThe couple had their ceremony and dinner/reception in the backyard patio area and it was seriously so perfect for their small guest list The staff was quick to transition the versatile space from ceremony to dinner during a short cocktail hour and the table setup turned out stunning! And the patio’s bulb lights were bright enough to light photos and keep the magical ambiance of dining and dancing under the starsI’ll definitely be recommending this venue to any couples wanting a small wedding in the area!

The Inn is a lovely Beautifully decorated in a calm welcoming fashion Breakfasts are tasty and plentiful

The innkeepers were friendly and helpful The cost was equivalent to a major chain but the experience was far superior The only two downsides might be that there is no elevator and that the noises from the street and the light rail might bother some I found them soothing I know, I am weird

Folks were nice that worked here, particularly the super nice gentleman working at breakfast, but the hotel needs some work Rooms are in dire need of a refresh, particularly the bathrooms The fitness room had no working A/C and was probably 90 degrees

They could have at least added a fan or two to try to pull in the cooler air from hallway They claim to be pet friendly but charge $75 for a night and they did not even have dog clean-up bags in the container outside Management needs to be a bit more accountable and bring this hotel up to Hampton Inn standards And what seems to be the norm at all Hilton brand hotels, zero welcome or comment thanking me for being a Diamond Member

Very disappointed in this hotel I travel a lot for work and Hilton’s are my preferred brand I am extremely disappointed in the lack of cleanliness at this property, considering we are in a pandemic

Upon e-checking into my room, and getting settled that I noticed hair on the toilet seat, hair in the shower, and leftover food and drinks in the fridge I was disgusted I called the front desk to request a thorough housekeeping in the morning, as I’m scheduled to stay here for 5 days, however the front desk agent told me that she would not be able to request housekeeping due to the length of my stay She could only “move” my room I was livid When e-checking into the available rooms this was one of the few rooms available away from the elevator, not to mention the inconvenience of re packing all of my things to move She exclaimed that she would get “fussed” at if she didn’t switch my room I will most certainly be checking out in the morning and booking the remainder of my stay elsewhere

I don’t know how to start first of all this hotel right here is a hot mess it’s no hot water, a lot of drama going on with the coworkers, etc This is one of the bad hotels that I have ever worked in, in my life for only 6 months they end up letting me go cuz I take too long in the rooms Well, at least the rooms are clean!!! I didn’t like working there anyway so everything is all good though, I just know the housekeeper is not for me
