The Maldonado’s

Great location and amenities Morton’s is one of my favorites, and they are located in many nice hotels like this one Make sure you visit on the evening

Our tour had breakfast arrangements, missed the eggs on the last two mornings of the trip To their credit, staff was kind, attentive and accommodating Starbucks in the house too (for those Cafe lovers like us) Safe “business” area, and parking is just around the corner Modern feel with plenty to do around the hotel

It’s a good business hotel, quiet standard, could be any brand really Pros and cons below:PROS:Large spacious room with nice expansive views onto the main street, gets good light during the day Comfy bed

There’s a desk to work at if need be Nice staff at the hotel, very accommodating and caring Very clean, good observation of covid rules etc Food served during the event was good too, tasty, good temperature- I recommend the current kitchen staff can certainly cater for breakfast tooAreas to IMPROVE:No breakfast, no pool/spa; the air in the hotel was so dry most event delegates were complaining about difficulty to sleep at night, myself included – I strongly recommend to get lots and lots of green plants, maybe install some air humidifiers for the winter months The shower head was full of limescale – need to check those details and replace Maybe add a picture(s) in the room, some softer interior details – interior now looks so sterile, plain

We visited DC for leisure, and we felt that this hotel was the perfect balance of convenience, comfort, and value Driving in from out of town, it was easy to get to this hotel by car, and the Metro stop made it easy to get to all the big sights around the capital Our rooms were clean and nice, and the bed was comfortable

Yes, you have to pay for breakfast here, but there are tons of options nearby, including several in the lobby I was perfectly happy with Starbucks and Dunkin; my husband and his parents sought fancier eats in the morning The only bummer was that there’s no pool and hot tub But still I’d give the place a full five stars because we were truly satisfied with this hotel

-I was in the area for a weekend music fest and the hotel was well-located and convenient The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well-appointed The complimentary breakfast is a nice touch along with the free WIFI and EV charging stations

It’s immediately adjacent to a shopping area with restaurants and a nice food market I would definitely stay there again Staff are friendly and informative, but unobtrusive

Mr Graham’s

As someone who works on the front lines of Covid I frequent hotels near and far I’m usually met with a lack luster attitude or seem to be a bother when simply checking into my hotel, I’m saying all that to say I meet allot of front desk personnel and very rarely do I come across one like Lauren Bowman her attitude is infectious she always has a smile and remembers your name and has the most bubbly personality I have ever encountered she makes you feel like your at a home away from home she goes above and beyond to ensure you have a pleasant visit, I wish more hotel staff were like her, I would also like to give kudos to everyone I have encountered at this hotel they all are friendly and welcoming this location is super convenient everything is in a 2 minute walking distance if you need to stay in the Fulton area trust me this is the only choice !!

This place is an unbelievably good deal The rooms are HUGE (be sure to ask for a tower room) It’s a bit of a drive from DC, but we plan on staying here any time we come back

This hotel offers an experience you typically don’t get unless you’re spending an additional $100-200 per night Be sure to walk to the town square in Rockville where you’ll find families with kids playing in the water park when the weather is warm Great hotel for families

Anonymous

The staff is very unfriendly we said hello and attempted to be friendly after making 8 hour trip with a baby But, They did not say hello or welcomed to the hotel

“keys, wifi, elevator to the left” is all they said we asked for a change to do laundry, and the staff refused There was no coffee in the morning, and 2 staff were talking to each other while guests were waiting for coffee Location and building are fine, but service is terrible

Mike Larrick

OK but quite expensive for the quality Rooms are clean and large, but not a lot to write home about No bath, only basic cable

They will charge you $20 for parking, which seems scammy They tell you they’ll validate parking but don’t mention they’ll charge you for it For a hotel on the outskirts of beltway suburbia, you’d think they would include that with the room I didn’t take a boat in Also they will send you spam emails and texts to sign up for their club

My new bride made reservations for this trip, as such, the room was not under my last name There was no social hour, breakfast, snack, or beverage offered purportedly due to covid It appeared that the dining space was significantly reduced due to the fact that the back deck for outdoor dining was condemned

There were multiple signs of neglect in the interior and exterior of the building This building has potential, but will take some work It would not have a bad experience for a $55 stay, but extremely disappointing for the price paid

KH Yoga Education

They are not ADA compliant I was turned away at the door due to my disability after a confirmed reservation in my husband’s name If you’re a person traveling with a disability, stay away from this place

They won’t treat you like a person I can’t speak to the inside of the room, I never made it But I highly recommend finding an alternative place to stay, anywhere else I normally only write about positive experiences, but I would never want someone else to be stranded They don’t want disabled money They will turn you away with an empty parking lot and little other revenue coming in

ilene levin

This is the worst place to stay They have no amenities They claim to have a sheep farm but that is a total lie

The place is completely run down and has not been taken care of They do not have a kitchen The patio doors do not lock and the patios are filthy with leaves, cobwebs, bugs, etc They also claim to provide a breakfast When we checked in, they gave us a small lunch bag with two store bought muffins, individual oatmeal packets and pretzels that they clearly bought from the grocery store They have a no refund policy for a reason because when you check-in, you want to leave right away

On our recent trip from Australia we stayed here for one night Unfortunately our room was very unclean Upon discovering pubic hairs in the bathroom floor and soap dispenser we were in shock

After driving 10+ hours and arriving late, we didn’t want to go elsewhere So we pulled back the sheets in both beds only to be further shocked by more hair We moved rooms but then further disappointed by no mention or apology for what we found Won’t be going Marriott ever again

Patrick Rost

I’m allergic to feathers, feather free room is listed in my profile when I checked in I asked at the front desk if the room was feather free? I was rudely told I “I saw it on your profile” I put my bags in the room and when I returned late that evening decided I better check the pillows When I did I discovered feather pillows

This seems to be a systemic problem at Marriott properties I have addressed it through their customer service, heard nothing At one hotel I had an allergic reaction causing me to take Benadryl to stop the reaction which left me tired for my only day in a national park an incident report was filled out and I was assured i would hear from a manager I didn’t and after a week I wrote a review then I finally heard from someone I also filled out an incident report and was told that I would hear from a manager before I checked out Nothing, it’s been a month Since then I always check before I use the pillows Problems happen it’s how you handle them that counts!!

My Mom and I came to Maryland for a Church Youth Revival and last minute we were trying to find a place to stay and then we ended up finding the Laurel Manor BnB! We were so pleased with our stay here and definitely want to come back again! Our hosts Lisa & Dave were both so kind & immediately made us feel at home! We are so thankful for them! Also, the property is so beautiful! Plus, breakfast was so good! You feel like family when you are there!

Seth RIVKIN

Laurel Manor B&B is by far one of the best we’ve ever stayed at! From the well kept grounds and building to the wonderful homemade breakfasts and nighttime brownies, from the wonderful energy to the cleanest rooms we’ve ever seen in any B&B, Laurel Manor is a perfect place to stayOur thanks to Lisa Everett, the owner/operator, who was the perfect host We look forward to staying with you again and than k you for your hospitality!

Cheyenne Deane

Lisa saved my wedding from disaster this weekend when, just a few hours before I was supposed to walk down the aisle, I found out my guests food was completely cold My bridesmaids and I were staying at Laurel Manor House and Lisa and her husband were kind enough to allow us to use their ovensThe B&B is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully run

While we were there even the picky eaters among us enjoyed the hosts wonderful cooking Check in was extremely easy and the electronic door lock made coming in and out a breeze Parking behind the house is easy, spacious and feels secureAll of our rooms were set up as we asked and spotless for our arrivalI highly recommend staying here for anyone who is looking to visit the area or just needs a little vacation

The staff is really, really nice!! Easy to get to by public transit— you can call their shuttle to get you from the metro, but it only runs on weekends right now bc of the pandemic It’s about a mile walk in an easy flat area if you don’t have too much luggage or it’s a nice day Beds are super comfy and the showers are great

The toiletries provided are lightly scented and smell great! The rooms are kind of dark at night which I don’t really like, but they are otherwise great Nice and clean The light switches are all electronic buttons which might take you a few minutes to work out but once you get the hang of it it’s kinda nifty The pool and gym are solid and the conference amenities are very attractive as well I haven’t been to the spa myself but a friend got her nails done there and had a great experience The bar is wonderful, though the beer selection is pretty smallThey make a great bloody mary!

Jenny Terry

I loved my stay here! Beautiful hotel with an amazing view Conveniently located just steps from the University of Maryland The staff was nice, the room was immaculate, and the bed was so comfortable

If you are planning a trip to DC this is a great option just outside the district but is located near the metro line I really enjoyed my stay here and hope to visit again

Janna Chan

I have stayed at the University of Maryland Hotel several times over the past few yearsThe rates are good and the service is excellent The staff is very friendly

I wish that some of the rooms had bath tubs instead of just showers but that’s a minor issueThe two restaurants right next to the premises, a pizza place and a bagel place, are excellent and reasonably pricedObviously this location makes sense if you’re doing something at the University of Maryland However, it’s a very clean and professional outfit for anyone staying in the DC area in general

Best hotel experience from the moment we walked in until we checked out! This trip specifically was with our family and it was a large group for a soccer tournament Lobby was big and beautiful with lots of places to hang out as a team Pool was clean and the kids had a blast! Rooms were clean and one minor issue was taken care of right away

Only downside I can think of is rooms need some updating with outlets so don’t forget your charging blocks they do not have usb charging as many other hotelsThe staff, I could right a book on how accommodating and nice they were to not only the adults but the kids I truly felt like the manager was my personal concierge and nothing went unnoticed by this gentleman he was on point at all times! We wonder when he sleeps as he was always there The breakfast and all the amazing waitresses were fabulous, definitely worth the cost!!! Plus they filled up the kids water bottle every morning and the parents coffee cups! I can’t say enough about the staff at this hotel they were beyond exceptional and truly made our trip as stress free and enjoyable as possible!

Trish Anna

Everyone who worked here was so nice! The room was very large and clean The bed was extremely comfortable! My only complaint is that I was not aware that I would have to be given a voucher for my food credit since I am a rewards member and was not given one upon check in I didn’t get to use my credit my first night because I was not aware of this policy

The next morning, I asked for the credit , was told “ok”, and thought it would just be added on to my bill at breakfast I was told at the restaurant to go back to the front desk to physically get the voucher for breakfast I did not mention it while i was there I was unaware of how this worked at this particular Hilton property I missed out on my “complimentary” dinner the evening that I checked in which I honestly do not believe is fairThe room was quiet, clean, big, and nice Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly, helpful, and nice I cannot say enough good about them or the hotel! The hotel is secluded, also

Meredith Waye

Room was clean Plenty of outside sitting and eating areas offered Awesome Breakfast layout and Super breakfast staff

Decent hotel The lobby is really flashy, unfortunately the rooms are quite dated, and mine had a weird smell The shower had some mildew on the floor, and of course the room had an old carpet on the floor as most hotels do

At least the rooms were bigThe on site restaurant had a decent selection of food and beverages, I had the salmon for dinner and it was pretty good I also had breakfast in the restaurant and they did not have the buffet set up, I ordered parfait with granola and fruit and it was good! Main gripe was that they charged for coffee and juice, and quite a lot, so the whole ticket got quite expensive for a really simple breakfast The executive lounge was closed too which was a bit if a bummerOverall it was a decent stay, definitely stayed in worse hotels

Matt Winn

Our stay at the hotel was extremely disappointing On the first night, there was continuous noise until 1am Part of that noise was the hotel staff loudly opening and closing doors up and down our hallway and running a vacuum cleaner which they also carelessly slammed into the door/wall outside our room

When we asked the staff member with vacuum to stop, he refused Part of the noise was rowdy activity in the hallway, which the staff did nothing about despite multiple requests Even later in the week, young people were running around and yelling in the hallways because there is no atmosphere of civility or control by the staff It was very disruptiveOur stay was also disappointing because basic amenities were broken, unavailable, or held at cost For example, the convenient location next to the metro was spoiled because upon return, the door back into the hotel was locked and the card key access was not operational We asked to use a microwave and were told that it would be a $10 extra charge – really? At the price we were spending – which did not even include any room cleaning – it is insulting to me that you’d try to milk even more money out of us for something that could have been set up and finished in 5 minutesConsidering the hotel itself was responsible for these disappointing factors in our stay, I regret paying for the room and don’t think it will be a good idea to return, even though I plan to return to Rockville many times in the future

Teresa Buchanan

This is a conference hotel but it’s also perfect for business travelers Things I loved: super fast elevator, simple interior parking, Starbucks, great bartender and kind front desk people, good work space in the room (huge desk chair), fabulous pillows, every store you need within walking distance, close to DC, AND across the street from a metro stop and regular sized grocery store (Safeway!) My FAVORITE thing? It was So

Quiet!!! Slept great!

I had a 2 night stay here last week and I was greeted by Mia who was a very friendly and informative employee She even offered to look up restaurants/closest wine stores nearby for me when I inquired I really appreciated the kindness upon arriving

My room was very clean and and modern and the shades made the room dark for sleeping The only issue I had were some very noisy neighbors around midnight which lasted until around 1:30, which sounded like they were moving furniture around for 45 minutes and banging on the walls, but that is not the hotel’s fault I enjoyed the breakfast and always available coffee/tea in the lobby as well I was going into DC and the Greenbelt Metro station was a 10 minute drive from the hotel, which was very convenient also I look forward to staying here again the future

Kayle Mabry

I always travel for work and always stay here when I’m in town It’s one of the cleanest and best 3 star hotels I’ve stayed in It’s always extremely comfortable and is a good location and everything is up to date and new

Only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is the noise at night if you’re on the highway side of the building I’m in my 20s and never have issues sleeping even with noise but even this was a little much for me Other than that I would recommend this hotel everytime

Andrew K

Staff was excellent! I’m sorry I can’t give 5 stars on this alone and separate it from the Hotels location! A crowd of “youths” in and around the lobby as I’m checking in after midnight And on the street in and around the Hotel there was rambunctious activity and even fighting that had local police intervention! Great stuff when you’re trying to sleep And not just for a minute or two, this went on for hours! I expect more from a Hilton! And oh, the water dripping out of the shower, basically made it useless was the kicker! Unacceptable! Otherwise the room was spotless and nice, very clean! Again, staff was wonderful and I felt sorry for them having to deal with the trouble there

Had a chance to stay in March of 2022 for a relaxing overnight The hotel is beautiful and the staff friendly and accommodating The views of the lake from our finally furnished room were outstanding and we loved watching the snow fall and swirl from our balcony

We had a chance to utilize the bar area for drinks and appetizers and enjoyed spending time with the staff while enjoying the comfort and views from the lounge area We didn’t have an opportunity to utilize the workout area, but took a peek and it is quite impressive We are excited to return once the restaurant fully opens in April Highly recommend the hotel for some of the finest, if not THE finest accommodations in the surrounding area

Nikola Susic

This hotel is absolutely stunning I was genuinely astounded by the quality of the place from the moment I walked in The atmosphere is modern, yet at the same time comforting, with a feeling of a lodge by the lake

Throughout my stay, I felt as though I was the focus of attention the entire time The staff tended to every need of my family and I, and my parents spoke very highly of the hospitality they experienced They genuinely saved my Christmas, because they put my parents in a good mood from the very start, which made dinner go much more smoothly than I would have expected I cannot say enough good things about the hotel and I will definitely be coming back to stay here in the near future If you are looking for a place to stay, I recommend you come here It is truly a hidden gem

Andrea Baines

Excellent! Had a gathering with friends at Merriweather Lakehouse Hotel and we had a fabulous time! The decor and ambience is delightful – fresh, stylish, contemporary with a warm feel The staff were also very warm and welcoming and totally felt in service to us – caring that we had a great time And a great time we had indeed! The cocktails are very tasty, good beer selection and the food — well, we were Super Impressed with what ‘bar food’ was

We chose to sit in the open, lively seating area near the bar and were SO pleased with the interesting choices and Delicious food – the fried burrata was amazing — and I don’t normally eat fried The grilled vegetable choice was done to perfection, and between the group, we had just about every item on the menu — and everyone was raving about what they had It was such a fun, uplifting, perfect time that we asked for a tour so a few of us could start planning functions there for organizations we are involved in 5 stars! Highly Recommend! Oh yes — and the view is beautiful, as are all the rooms And wait until you see the pool view — WOW! And it’s so fun to see all the old music posters from previous concerts at Merriweather Post Pavilion — a little trip down memory lane The attention to detail is apparent — from the stylish shape of the glasses, the silverware — this is a Marriott Autograph hotel that is truly top-notch!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Marriott, even though it was only for one night The room was modern, spacious, and you can smell the cleaning products when we walked in which is a breath of fresh air The restaurant/bar at the hotel is GOOD

I definitely recommend, the drinks and food exceeded our expectations Our waiter was also very nice! The only slight problem I had was that the washcloth in the bathroom was wet when we arrived, I’m not sure why or what it was used for but what if we had arrived later in the day and it was dry? We would have used a potentially dirty washcloth Also, you’re paying to park in a parking lot behind the building – not a garage
