Service was great but it is an older hotel The rooms had a weird smell and the towel I used had a slight cigarette smell The bed was clean

There is a shuttle that goes to Midway which is why we stayed here The shuttle is convenient but keep in mind the front desk needs you present in order to call it The shuttle can be available every 20 minutes It’s a pretty large shuttle that is shared with other hotels so there’s plenty of space but there could be many people as well We were flying with 10 pieces of luggage and everything fit

tristan brown

The location is great and overall the hotel was clean and in good order The beds are a little small but for 2 people (1 per bed) it is not that bad Was here for 2 nights

I was very disappointed when it comes to having the rooms refreshed I don’t think they even came into the room They didn’t make the beds or put new towels, water cups, or take out the trash I think it’s time to start changing rooms every night or checking out and checking back into a different room They can do a 20 min clean or a full clean every day Had asked for new towels and asked for 2 more bed pillows I was able to get the towels The staff was supposed to come and give me the pillows but never showed up or even called to let me know anythingBreakfast was very disappointing we had peanut butter and jam but no bread or Bagels There were no waffles It was simply cereal and a sausage biscuit

Debra Westbrook

Nice hotel for a weekend visit and the location was excellent Typical hotel issues not enough towels and our fridge was not cold would not stay cold even after it was repaired

Shout out to Suzette doing breakfast she was amazing and very helpful in telling us about different things around the city Shout out to the manager that allowed us an early check-in and a late check out which worked excellent with our travel plans overall service was amazing

Have never been Room was very nice and clean Nicely decorated

Shower was very nice We asked for an extra flat sheet that was never brought to us Our room had service rooms or something above They were very loud above us in the morning, and it actually woke us up when we were looking forward to sleeping in They kept dropping stuff above us and were very loud Our room was in front of the building near the busy street which was very loud They need to invest in better windows and sound proofing

Spicy Zing

Aura has always been a great spot to stay You can rent for a couple hours or for a night (must rsvp for overnight stays) I like that there’s different rooms to choose from and their reasonably priced

This is a Lovers Hotel, definitely meant for couples It’s a great place to take your significant other for a nice relaxing night together Though you must have a membership to even rent these rooms (M: $50, For a year)

J.O.B Telinfo

Aura really needs to upgrade all rooms especially Tryst room I got my package as advertised However, the room was not sound proof, no soap or conditioner in the shower dispenser, blood on the remote control which is a major negative!!!! Holes in the walls and etc You guys better do something because things like that will cause Aura at this location to be shutdown

I will not return to this hell and I want my refund for the blood on the remote control

Not super impressed I was put in a handicapped room for the first night which the hot water in the shower barely got warm, not the room I reserved but it was the only room left Came back later in the evening to find ants everywhere

Bathroom, sink, climbing up the walls, on the nightstand and in the bed They put me in another room which was much better!!! Hot water worked, no ants and oh, don’t get the room that is next to the pool Pool is open 24hrs and screaming kids were in it really late and super early But they did have a nice gym and breakfast!

Jennifer D

This place was LOUD Super clean But could hear the other guests walking down the hallway and taking showers in other rooms

The fan in the heater was loud and squeaky all night Someone came down the hall at 1030 pm knocking on doors and running And the toilet seat was brokenThe main lobby is very nice Breakfast looked okayish Although when I went to get coffee there was noneOverall the place is clean and in a great location But after no sleep probably wouldn’t come backAnd the pool is also closed

Great sized rooms and excellent staff I cannot say enough about the staff here Their breakfast is lacking some things, such as milk and cereal which I personally found odd

But the staff was so accommodating and willing to please We had a really noisy fridge so they switched it out within an hour and then called to make sure the switch was satisfactory! It is just down the street from a Chilis and Olive Garden and it is really easy to access the highway Only took about 30 minutes to get to ChicagoThe beds are firm but really comfortable There are different firmness level pillows The hallways were really quiet at night, which was appreciated We had a room with 2 queen size beds that was a nice size room, had more than the usual 2 beds There was a little extra space where they had a cute chair and reading lamp that provided a little extra spaceI’d stay here again

We are here on a business trio for my husband so my son and myself have been able to enjoy the luxuries of the hotel more Ms Johanna and Ms

Pat are awesome early in the morning greeting you with smiles and great conversations The cleaning crew is excellent and to my experience both managers have been helpful and kind I love the area and they make sure you’re well accommodated The pool is heated and clean The only thing is the wifi signal isn’t as strong

The Disrespected Trucker

My semi broke down and I chose Holiday inn express to stay You will not be disappointed by this place They are extremely friendly and accommodating! The room was around $150 per night but well worth every penny because of their professionalism and willingness to accommodate

Look no further and it’s right off the interstate Plenty of delivery places nearby I chose beggars pizza and was not disappointed!!! Great job Holiday Inn Express!!!

Lucy, from the front desk is fabulous I cannot say enough about her kindness, her attention to detail and her genuine concern for creating a pleasant experience for guests She truly went above and beyond to ensure that I was taken care of after a canceled flight and a long day of travel

I spend about half the year in hotels and Lucy truly stood out by providing next level customer service Thank you!

Pretty nice place to stay, clean rooms, friendly staff, showers with water pressure, comfortable beds, I really have no complaints about this placeSome reviews have mentioned problems with sounds from the trainyard but they didn’t bother me at all in my room It was also really nice going walks on the sidewalk paths as opposed to the usual hotel experience of pure parking lot and nothing else

Very clean and modern rooms Decent pillows The beds weren’t the most comfortable I’ve slept on in a hotel but I never really take that into consideration for reviews as everyone has different firmness preferences

Decent sized rooms with a good sized bathroom Nice large TV in our room too Convenient location is always great too I was definitely surprised when we entered and saw how nice it was inside I was expecting much less

Tasha Sanchez

Stayed for a family members wedding and as always have last min guest The same week as a back street boys concert and majority of the hotels were booked Shawn was amazing to help us get an additional room for another person coming to the wedding

She made the booking seemles and Quick I hope management sees this and understand how great she is for their establishment I work in the retail business and know how it feels to hear doing an amazing job Negative is always posted and we need more positive feed back from consumers this time in life I was blessed to have Shawn cross my path

Overall it’s wasn’t bad Rooms and bathroom were clean and beds well made Want to give 5 stars but except for Kevin, front desk staff can be more on top of things and better trained

I also appreciated Kevin’s knowledge of getting around Midway Airport Had to pickup my family at airport at 1:00am and preferred not to get lost like in O’Hare

F F

Alyssa checked us in she was super sweet and helpful made us feel welcomed The room was clean and housekeeping even gave us extra towels Maria checked us out she was super busy but she took the time to make us feel important and made sure we had everything we needed before we left to the airport

With customers service like these two ladies gave us we would always choose doubletree

James Milks

This was a last minute choice due to flight delays, but it was enjoyable and conveniently located near Midway airportThe free shuttle was also convenient and appreciated, as it is less than a 10 minute driveRooms were clean and quiet, hotel restaurant was ok but not spectacular

Lots of airline crews checking in, which I considered a good sign

At first I was a little apprehensive when we saw the place, however had a wonderful experience there The room smelled fresh and clean Wind during the summer time, was grateful to discover that the AC worked really well, And was surprised With the scolding hot shower shower after coming back you’re coming back from A very rainy cubs game

The people were friendly and the doors automatically lock when you step outside so do make sure you remember your keys It was only 35 minutes away from Wrigley Stadium, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a nice cheap hotel that’s clean and not too out of the way

Do not believe the photos I’m a photographer and know the tricks and either the photos are old or they did their job well This is a run down hotel

Pool and hot tub were not operational None of the outdoor key fobs worked to get you into the hotel, very frustrating! Carpets and wall coverings are dated Funky smell throughout Furniture is cheap and chairs are wobbly when you sit in them I gave it two stars because the staff was friendly(always apologetic for all the issues) and it included the typical standard breakfast but was still too expensive $150 with taxes and fees and that was the special rate via several apps Did not know that until we arrived and had already pd that the pool was not in service, we had two dissapointed teenagers We booked via an app vs directly via the hotel, it did state on their website that the pool was out of order on their website, but we probably would not have swam in it based on how the rest of the hotel looked

Maha Mikhail

People are fantastic, very kind & try to do anything to help you! However, the place is old, not clean, some rooms smell & ants were present! The nightstand drawer fell off & had to get the front desk lady to help me! Again I would give 5/5 to the person but 2/5 at most to the place! Had to leave earlier & book another hotel in the area & pay for 2 rooms for the same day to get out! They have to clean it & do some serious renovation!

Kelly O’Leary

The pool was freezing My family got out after 10 min and if we weren’t so desperate to try and swim, we wouldn’t have even gone it What is the point of having a pool if you can’t keep it slightly warm

Also the bedding left a lot to be desired There was only a sheet and flimsy top decorative piece – no blankets or comforterIt was also kind of loud We were hearing people walking by our room multiple time after midnight It was so disruptive we left at 230 am

This charming hotel is definitely a gem located in the heart of downtown Homewood From the stylish decor to the swanky restaurant, I truly enjoyed my local getaway The only changes I would suggest would be upgrading the tvs to Smart Tvs for movie streaming, improving the morning breakfast selection and having a skeleton crew so that in room dining can occur at least until 11pm on weekends

Eric Smith

Excellent experience and stay! Part of our stay was an surprise to my wife They helped with the execution of the surprise and even gave advice! Beautiful hotel, exceptional clean (very important during this time), and superb staff! This place is a hidden gem for sure! Feel just like you’re downtown Chicago This is now my favorite hotel, perfect for a quick getaway, Excellent atmosphere and great restaurant in side hotel! Can’t wait to return! This review isn’t justice

These are the places we need to frequent to ensure they stay open! Thanks La Banque for an amazing experience and making me look great to my wife😁

It’s pricey but most boutique style hotels are especially around holidays or weekends Many different rules due to pandemic I’m guessing Like we couldn’t have a drink in the bar unless we had reservations when the bar and most of the restaurant were empty

No one seemed to know if we could order room service Luckily we had a family party and went early We noticed glass broken in a picture frame immediately entering the suite and the attendant on duty removed it in minutes We were in an accessible room which includes lots of grab bars and side floor area, there’s also braille on the door The tub however is a regular high side so someone can’t roll in or walk-in You could probably bring a slide seat though They include a dark wash cloth for makeup removal A nice coffee station with fridge, in room safe, robes, iron, dryer, etc Nice one time for mom to enjoy the holiday It’s right across from the Metra station and has ample free parking Many great restaurants in the area if you want something different like Red Bird

Reserved a room almost 3 months in advance of our trip The shuttle was so inadequate that it was completely packed with no room for all the waiting passengers for 3 full round before we were even able to get on to go to the hotel We arrived after traveling all day, get up to the room and find out that while we paid in full in advance for a room with 2 queen size beds (for 4 people) we were given a room with just one king bed with no couch or pull out for the other sleeping arrangements

We asked the front desk for a roll away bed or a cot because we were tired and didn’t want to make a big fuss They told us to sleep on the floor Yes, the floor They told us there was no manager on duty to speak with until the next day and wouldn’t give us any solution other than to sleep on the floor because they over booked and gave our room away

Nelson Reyes

Don’t know what happens with Marriot hotel Made reservation via phone Got to the hotel just to found out that I didn’t have a reservation

Once I showed my confirmation they kept looking until they found my reservation Got there late because my flight got delayed So from 3:00 am they wanted me to wait until 5:00 am to check me in Which is absurd Paid for a hotel that wasn’t giving me a room Had to wait in the lobby for more than an hour We are sleeping the the sofas I really just wanted to cancel and go somewhere else I am still waiting

Gary Ma

Obnoxiously loud room with all the planes flying overhead Like most airport hotels, they could care less about sound insulation Management, please don’t give me some corporate platitude about trying to do better next time because unless you are planning to soundproof the entire building, you can’t do better

Also, staff was rude and incompetent–the guy couldn’t find our reservation and when pressed, declared there were no reservations until his coworker found the reservations I was also put on hold and forgotten when i tried to request something grom the front deskThen they acted like nothing happened I ended up asking for extra bedsheets so I could sleep on the bathroom floor because it was the only quiet place I could find (SEE PIC) And there are minor irritations like the nonsensical requirement of a card key to access the ice machine And equip your vans with some shock absorbers Not impressed with the Marriott brand overall Overpriced and overhyped

It was nice but housekeeping needs to do better! I did not appreciate having to ask for my room to be cleaned three times then had to leave my room and wait for them to FINALLY clean it! I called the night before, the morning of when I was told they would be there at 10 am We left and came back at 3 and it was still NOT CLEANED! I was LIVID!! That was when I made my THIRD attempt by going directly to the desk and speaking to an associate! We sat by the murky pool for an hour while they cleaned the room When we got back to the room a dirty towel was left in the shower and the cleaning solution was left on the stove! I took pictures which I will upload on TripAdvisor and Google along with my review

Now for the pool I had every intention of getting in and enjoying the water but it was cloudy! I stood outside the door around 9 am, not believing what I was seeing then the pool guy came out with a hand full of solutions I asked him was he cleaning it because it looked cloudy and he said yes, he just put the solution in it I asked why it looked like that and he said someone must have done something in the water the night before His voice went low so I couldn’t hear exactly what he said but it was enough to know I was not getting in! If you read this post in its entirety then you know that whatever solution the guy put in the pool at 9 am did NOT work, due to it STILL being murky/cloudy at 3-4 pm! Disgusting to say the least! My final complaint is we asked for and were given a late checkout I guess the front desk did not communicate that with housekeeping because they tried opening the door at 11 am sharp! Imagine that! They were “on time” to get us out of the room but not on time to do their job! We told them we had a late checkout and she barely understood due to not speaking English She eventually understood and left We were truly ANNOYED by this!

Virginia Beckett

At first glance this hotel seemed nice and clean, however when I woke up in the morning I found a cockroach in my bathroom I was able to take a video and show it to the front desk, who told me that a manager would come down to my room shortly After waiting 30 minutes I received a phone call from the front desk informing me that there would be no hotel management on site due to the holiday, but one would call me to discuss the refund I requested

I have now called on two separate occasions asking to speak with management, only to be informed that my information had been passed on to hotel management and they would contact me at their convenience Not only did I pay $250 for one nights stay, but I also had to throw away all of our food, and have our belongings bug bombed Do not stay at this hotel, and do not be fooled by what appears to be a clean, upscale setting The person at the front desk was very kind and understanding, but obviously he is the only one who cares, as management seems to have disregarded my complaint

Justin Kelsey

If i could give this place a zero i would Horrible front seat A blond women who was rude and damining over the phone and in person

Not to mention the “manager” on site was a point size jerk He didn’t have anything to say other then what the lady in the front desk had already called and actually cried about The pool was out of clouded majority of the stay People running around each night smoking and drinking (yelling throughout the hotel) i would be cautious when booking here There were some nice perks (a kitchen without any amenities including a fire extinguisher Also a fire alarm text where the people of the hotel we Lee to enter the room Overall, we were very disappointed

Best check in experience Jamal was fantastic and made my check in process extremely easy He gave great food recommendations, including the on-site restaurant

The ladies in the morning were great as well, and the sales manager even took a moment to compliment my shoes Everybody was dressed nice, they smiled and greeted you, and I just can’t praise everyone enough My visit was to bury my grandfather, so to have such great customer service during this time made my stay even better

We arrived late on Friday night and Jessie was working the front desk and he did a great job of getting us checked in without any issues He recognized me as a Hilton Honors guest and he immediately told me about the hotel restaurant, bar and other features This hotel had plenty of free parking and it is great shape

The food in the restaurant was reasonably priced with a great selection There is a nice fitness center and indoor pool Our room had a fridge which came in handy the beds and pillows were comfy and there was plenty of space in our room The ice machine is on all of the even floors We were on the 1st floor so we had to walk up to the 2nd floor to get our ice The room does not have a microwave but there is a microwave downstairs in the snack area that we used to warm up our food when needed This hotel has everything you need There’s also a nice breakfast spot too in this hotel for your bagels, fruits, juices, coffees, and other items This hotel was better than I expected and the service was great!

I had my first Women Conference here at the Hilton Oaklawn / Chicago location and no matter the problem the management worked it out! The catering staff was super excellent and Sue was the Catering manager for our event! Beautiful spirited individual! Because it was geared to women they tried hard to give us a great female staff presence and we truly appreciated it so much! Tom and Greg were the best Hilton Hotel mangers you could ask for! Greg even started cleaning & inspecting rooms to assist in getting our ladies in their rooms in a timely fashion! We fell in love with him! Our Catering agent Anne did her absolute best to prepare the mangers and give us what we needed when we booked the location! The conference food was delicious and beautifully prepared! I made a reservation a day and half and made sure they had a pool and it was open They said yes and sure is Now we drive almost 400 miles round trip to see our grand child

We get there The pool is closed there are dirt sheets still the fold out couch and the microwave will not work The elevator is broken and the drapes look like they are going to fall off the wall The shower curtain is bent up and coming off the walls Stains on the carpets the only reason give this place one star is that it was ok quiet and the bed was good Would not stay there again I would rather sleep in my car and save myself $200 plus dollars The breakfast I had to ask for a plate wait on some eggs let’s just say it was not the best breakfast or maybe the worst one but it was almost a tie They did mock off $40 our stay I would of gladly paid the full price if we could have used the pool sense it rained the whole weekend ☹️

Room was pretty decent aside from carpet stains Bed was lumpy but not the worst Worst part was elevator was out of service and my room was on the 3rd floor

The stairways have no ac so it is very hot in there Carpet in the hallways and stairways as you can see is gross and dirty Smelled of drugs But I did not get the feeling of being unsafe Once I was in my room all was well But in my opinion it is not worth over $100 More like 60-70

The beds were really comfortable and we could get some good night’s sleep but The rooms were really old and the carpet was so dirty, all families were given rooms on the third floor! And it seemed like they had their worst rooms on the 3rd floorSo if you’re going here, request for a second it a first floor room, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed 😉

Clean hotel, good breakfast We ended up needing a room overnight for an unexpected flight delay so we didn’t really check out any other amenities The shower had the best water pressure I’ve had in a hotel in a while

When we checked in the lady didn’t seem super enthused to be there, but it was late The guy at checkout was super friendly Overall it was a nice hotel

My family was stranded by a cancelled flight out of midway around 1am the morning of august 11th with 2 little kids the moment I called the front desk clerk(wish I could remember her name) she was more than accommodating, friendly, and helpful When we got there she had already had new sheets on a pack and play for our son

She offered toothbrushes and necessities since we didn’t have our bags with us She made our bad night much better The front desk lady in the morning was just as great and helpful with everything as well along with very friendly The rooms were comfortable and breakfast was decent as well with that lady being very helpful and friendly as well Would recommend this hotel simply due to the customer service received

Do yourself a favor by saving yourself a headache and night of sleep Don’t stay here The traffic is so loud (even on a Sunday night at midnight)

The beds are not queen beds Our shower drain didn’t drain well so the tub filled up as you were showering The door to the bathroom was so heavy, good luck closing it or opening it The attached restaurant has excellent food but was so slow And prepare to pay $20 a night for parking…yes this is just a standard holiday inn with a normal parking lot

Would give 0 stars if possible Made a reservation 2 weeks before reservation date Called and spoke to manager here to make sure they had a pool and open availability for use of said pool

Was told pool only closed on Mondays for cleaning which is understandable Our reservation was for Wednesday at 3pm Tried checking in at 330 and spoke to Jennifer at front desk Not only was she rude, but a bit snobby Told us as we were checking in ” oh we have a private event so pool is closed, will only be open from 830 to 10 pm” We reserved at this location which is over an hour away specifically for the pool as it was for my three year old son’s birthday, and all he wanted for his Birthday was to go swimming So obviously My wife and I were upset, we even asked why this was the case as we called two weeks beforehand and confirmed pool usage and times and Jennifer rudely said well we changed our policy No apologies, no commitment to service Thank goodness we reserved through Bookingcom and William the supervisor we spoke to was kind enough to help us cancel the reservation as well as find us a replacement reservation on short notice Would never recommend this location to anyone, and do not be fooled by false and obviously fake reviews for this location This is NOT a 4 star hotel and if you are staying here good luck and hope you are not expecting the amenities promised at the time of your booking

It’s part of a group of hotels near the airport It would be great if the free shuttle was a scheduled ride for really early morning flights Overall I would stay again because the room was good for what I needed overnight

Front desk staff was really great and helpful Checked in online so not too much hassle to get keys to room When you get on elevator, hold key over sensor while pushing floor button
