The rooms were large and super clean The staff was also super nice The breakfast was probably one of the best continental breakfasts I’ve ever had at a hotel

Also, my mother in law left her purse behind in our room with $700 in cash and some personal items They were all found and shipped back to us promptly Derek, the housekeeping manager contacted us to let us know that they had found a bag in our room Thank you for a great experience!

While traveling for a funeral My fiancé, mother in law, daughter and myself stayed here for two nights The last hotel we stayed in was not up to par

The breakfast there was not acceptable for me to even feed my dog The rooms in this hotel exceeded everything! Our housekeeping was so understanding My daughter had an accident and they were so accommodating to get us new bedding! The front desk, exceptionally friendly! The hotel smells fantastic for as weird as that sounds, but the front desk employees were constantly spraying and cleaning! Then the breakfast staff, super friendly and made you laugh! I don’t think that could’ve been a better way to start your day! Thank you again!

This place is bizarre Whoever built this place did not care because the wiring in the rooms does not make sense to what turns on and doesn’t The beds are so high off the ground for some reason

The entire construction of the hotel does not make any bit of senseWe also did not like breakfast starting at 7:30 That’s a personal preference, but I feel like most hotels start at 6:30Definitely a 2 star hotel for a reason

I love this place! I had a warm and friendly greeting, then I got to the room and was overjoyed because it was modern and clean and comfortable! The bathroom was sparkling and the bed was super cozy! I swear, I heard no noise at all during the night It could be because we were at the end of the hall, but whatever, it was dead quiet and the room was dark, not much light seeping in from the huge window We also ate in one of the ballrooms and the food and the service was top notch! I won’t hesitate coming back!!

Rooms were clean and relatively quiet hotel Staff courteous and attentive Breakfast buffet is extra but is pretty decent

They also have some nice outdoor seating Good place for business They do have a gym on siteOverall I found it to be a nice stay

Rae Marie

Everything was beyond expectations By far one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had being in this industry I cannot express how friendly, helpful, and accommodating the staff were

Also, the food was phenomenal Everything was hot and fresh; the chef and kitchen took pride in their preparations and paid attention to the details I’ve been in the industry for over 20 years, and the operations at the Marriott University of Dayton are top-notch!

This hotel has seen better days We’ve stayed here for the Dayton Airshow before and I’m a Marriott Gold Elite member so I booked it though it had been several years since my last stay It has definitely gone downhill

On the plus side, the staff were all lovely But the rooms/property The first room had a terrible smell – like something died The replacement room was better but I really question the cleanliness There was a sticky substance on the alarm clock Brownish/red goo in the bottom of the refrigerator Stains in the shower And a small blood stain on one of the pillows! By that point, I just wanted to sleep so I threw the pillow on the floor, made sure the others were okay, and just dealt with it rather than as for yet another room But then there was a huge issue with smoking throughout the hotel – both cigarettes and pot Woke up to the smell of cigarettes in my room the next morning – it was coming in through the vent in the bathroom Given the large number of hotel options at this location, I would not choose to return

Jake Owens

Very friendly staff, but disappointed with the room When we first go to our room, we noticed an empty Twisted Tea can laying right next to one of the beds and that there was no microwave in the room We also noticed a dark stain on the floor of the bathtub, which we initially thought was just a stain that couldn’t be removed

However, when the water was turned on, the stain started to disappear With that and the can on the floor, it was obvious that the room was not cleaned well I brought up these issues to the lady at the front desk and she was very nice She gave me a discount on my room and apologized Not sure I would stay here again The area had a lot to offer in terms of food, but there were also a lot of other hotels nearby that I may look at next time

Tru by Hilton was a nice place to spend the weekend while visiting my husband! The room was nice and clean, although I wish there had been a bathtub along with the shower and a bathroom fan – the towels did not dry out in between showers The free hot breakfast was good, although the pancake station was always very busy and a bit slow (online it said there was a waffle machine instead), but they were delicious Staff accommodating and quickly brought refills of eggs, hot cocoa, and coffee! Great back patio was fun to sit and relax

Wish we also used the pool table, but did not have time

scott wuest

Check in with Hilton Honors is very easyThe electronic key is very easy to use if you’re at all tech savvyBeds are comfortable but only 3 per queen bed

No microwave or coffee in room but easily available in the lobbyThere is a pool table and gamesBreakfast is decentIndoor pool was well used during our last minute Friday, Saturday night stayNo bar but beer is available in the lobbyBreakfast is decent

Kathy Hurlburt

Amazing staff Continental breakfast was enjoyed by all Location to the Air Force museum was perfect

Plenty of great restaurants and shopping close by We were a party of four Grandpa Grandma two grandchildren They enjoyed the pool very much The retro style of the rooms slightly on the smaller side But the recreation of the lobby was fantastic

I stayed here for a night and it was fine Not the best Residence Inn I’ve stayed and not the worst The sheets were scratchy (I had read this in a prior review and I wasn’t sure what that meant, but now I get it!) It’s an older hotel and could definitely use some updating and the carpets in the hallway in the stairway had some crumbs and could use some cleaning

The front desk staff was pleasant I was bummed they put me on the top floor even though I had requested a low floor I guess the hotel was sold out that night, so I get itWould’ve been five stars had the room and hallway been a bit cleaner and sheets a bit softer

Megan Arnold

The room is very nice I like the full kitchen and open area for the dining table I wasn’t impressed with the “cleaning”

When we showed up there was hair on the bathtub side and bottom The breakfast was the nicest variety I have seen, they even had gluten free muffins The pool is small but enough for the kids to play for a little while before getting bored But the location is right in front of a huge mall which we walked to numerous times There are tons of other stores minutes from this location if you needed anything (walmart, food etc) it’s real close We will be back

Rob P

Place needs some TLC Did not feel like a Marriott experience Many areas dimly lit

Many plug-in air fresheners used to stabilize common areas Guest Room needs a good detail cleaning Housekeeping was not available & hope this will change soon Nice recycle bin in room but didn’t see the same outdoors This is my 1st 2 star rating ever about a Marriott Hotel Over priced for being two stars

Christie Little

Overall, this was a nice place The staff was great, breakfast selection and rooms were pretty nice The only complaints we had were with the bottom of the shower door and the broken book lamp

There was alot of mildew built up on the bottom of the shower door For the price, I expected this to be spotless Other than that, we were happy with our stay

Happy Bunch

Dirty, dirty, dirty

The carpet throughout the hotel just needs ripped up and thrown away The wallpaper just can’t be washed anymore Apparently housekeeping does not even attempt to wipe baseboards, they are stained yellow with dirt and hair Random splatters up our room wall, not to mention the bathroom No tubs, just small showers with a huge bathroom with no real exhaust fan Why? The grounds are disgusting, trash and cigarette butts litter the planters, but I saw the mx guy sitting on his butt smoking in the entry more than cleaning so that explains a lot Breakfast is 🤢 GROSS!!! So what are the positive? The lady who preps the breakfast is super sweet, and all the ladies at the front counter are very nice If those women had a nicer facility it would be on point As it stands, they are talented hospitality representatives in a decaying hotel

Tonya Curry

The room was nice however, the sliding door was off track so you couldn’t slide the door shut to the bathroom My 10yr old daughter was playing music on her phone and dancing in the room I paid nearly $400 for this room for the weekend and the front desk called to warn me of a noise complaint I politely ask what the complaint was and the front desk could not say

But while we were at the pool a bunch of rowdy guest came in and my daughter and other guests left from the pool Because of the noise and them taking over the small pool This was supposed to be a nice getaway for me and my daughter for her birthday and they ruined it I would not stay or recommend this hotel to anyone The treatment of guest is not the same!

The hotel/rooms “look” nice but that’s about itAfter a long travel, the desk clerk was extremely rude and short while checking in As I was confirming our room she answered the phone mid conversation and ignored my questions after handing me the room keys

Not to mention every clerk throughout the weekend looked as I’d they had just rolled out of bed So unprofessional Our room space and bed were decent, however the shower ran out of hot water after 5 minutes every evening and the counters/surfaces were not cleaned/wiped down from the previous guests With Covid, I would expect a hotel to be on top of their sanitizing game We had to shower as quickly as possible which was not relaxing at all The toilet wouldn’t flush correctly so we had to press the lever twice every time Breakfast wasn’t available for the weekend and the pool was closed due to “humidity making the fire alarm go off”The elevators rarely worked as well For the price we paid, we would expect at least decent hospitality, a clean room, access to amenities and a warm shower to relax in after traveling If I were a Hilton I would be ashamed to have my name associated to this place

Julie Mikulich

We travel often for travel baseball, and we prefer to stay at Hilton Garden Inns This one has a very fantastic, positive, helpful staff, but the hotel could use some improvements Definitely way understaffed

We stayed for 3 nights Not enough pool towels The cleaning staff and the breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed (but still super friendly) Please give Tania a raise – she went above and beyond for my family Thermostat never worked right in our room (507) Breakfast was great but the voucher system is a pain At previous Hilton Garden Inns, you just give your room number and order If we paid for breakfast with our room reservation, we shouldn’t need vouchers (that we weren’t even given upon initial check-in) This hotel could learn a lot from the one in Carmel, IN! Would love for both managers to chat with each other someday about their hotels!

Tiffany Mohler

Rooms are very nice, front desk was very nice The reason I’m giving lower then 5 star is because nothing grosses me out more then random hairs that don’t belong to me With that being said I have a suggestion, either use paper towels, a Swiffer, or vacuum the hairs before you mop

Also the pillows were like a big puff of air No support So maybe bring your own pillow The staff was very nice and when we checked out the lady that my husband spoke with at the front counter deserves 5 stars on customer service We would possibly stay here again

Not good, even as Hampton Inns go Our room smelled moldy and

I dunno, yeasty?Front desk not very friendly or helpful They’re clearly super understaffed, and there seemed to only be one staff member in the hotel at nightBreakfast is gross, so if you’re weighing options between a hotel you like better that doesn’t offer free breakfast, go with that one Oatmeal was more like gruel, and no protein options for vegetariansDecaf coffee was BAD bad Like, if some one asked if I’d rather drink that coffee or eat my own hair, I’d have a long think about it I don’t even know how it’s possible to make coffee that bad; I’m not even picky!Frustrating that no one wears a mask, even riding in the elevators

Kevin Beckman

Staff nice and helpful Transportation to airport was good even though they seem to lack a dedicated driver Facilitates are okay; my room had an obnoxiously loud air conditioner

I turned it off and dealt with warmer temperatures rather than listen to that thing I booked a room on the “park and go” rate but was still told I need to pay $10 for parking when I arrived Not sure if front desk person was mistaken or if the setup is not fully clear

Douglas Cooley

Zelma at check in was a little lack luster She complained about working 4 days in a row Most people work 5, sorry

There were long, black hairs around the tub; the cabinet with the microwave/fridge hadn’t been dusted in months This speaks to your Executive Housekeeper You should inspect what you expect! Your Night Auditor is niceMorning clerk was fantastic! Breakfast Hostess (African American lady), was sweet the lady replenishing the batter was not friendly at all! You have the best coffee in town!!!! Those curbs at the entrance are horrible We were here for a funeral Thank you for the late check out

Hotel could use a thorough cleaning The carpet was filthy through out the hotel Our room had a very strong odor perhaps because they allow pets at the hotel

Our couch was very stained, and we didn’t want to sit on it Mold on wallpaper in bathroom and it was peeling No mattress pad on bed and toilet ran the entire time No wonder the room rate was $89 a night Not a good experience, I felt so unclean staying at this hotel Can’t believe it was a Marriott

A C

First time staying in a Marriott hotel, was not a terrible experience, but was honestly expecting a much better stayThings I thought was great:1 Taylor greeted us very professionally at the front desk, she was nice and patient and wished us a great stay

This and the warm welcoming atmosphere at the lobby really left a good first impression!2 Staff were really quick to help We couldn’t find the hairdryer and the shampoo in our bathroom was running low, but we were quickly helped and the staff that kindly sent these items up to us were very nice3 Our check in time was supposed to be 4:00 PM, but I was notified that our room was ready for us at 9:00 in the morning, which was a nice surprise!Things that were not so great:1 At first glance, our room seems nice, but after a quick walk through, we noticed stains on the wall and on doors, a moldy bathroom, leaky showers (our bathroom door was flooded with water), dirty mirrors, and unclean bed sheets Was disappointed since we were really expecting more from a Marriott hotel, and I don’t think this meets the standards of a Marriott hotel2 Hard water We were not able to wash our hands or our bodies clean because of the hard water3 Wifi Our phones worked fine, but our laptops weren’t able to connect, not sure why4 My card was overcharged by 30 dollars, front desk said it should fall off in 3 to 5 business days, but that was an unpleasant surprise

Deb Kirby

Rooms (king suite) are nice size But ours had SEVERAL stains, on everything Carpet, pull-out sofa cushions were pretty gross

Worst thing was the SHOCKING amount they charged us for 2 dogs under 20 pounds each $75 for first one, additional $50 for second dog $125!!! If we hadn’t been dead tired and needing a place to rest right away, we definitely wouldn’t have stayed here We have NEVER been charged such an exorbitant amount for pets ANYWHERE Will never stay at this chain again

Receptionist was friendly and tried to be helpful However, for over $200 a night, I expected better No shampoo/lotion in room

No functioning ice machine on 4th floor (broken), soda machine on floor sold out TV remote was missing Got a replacement but it still didn’t work so we had no functioning television during our stay Come on Marriott You can and should do better Your quality is slipping

Jeff Griffin

A Marriott in name only Quality was lacking Went to front desk in the morning after our first night to ask for certain deficiencies to be fixed (bathroom door wouldn’t lock, thermostat not working, bathroom outlet not working, very slow bathroom drain)

Manager Pamela didn’t take any notes, or apologize, or address any of our issues She didn’t seem to care in the slightest Breakfast was gross Pool seemed polluted (and very cold) Ick You should keep looking

Ola Faye

Not sure if this happens all the time, I stayed here for four nights and I did not get any good sleep for those four nightsNights was noisy with people playing loud music Yelling all into the nights/ morning

I called front desk to help control the noise It stopped but next night it was the same all over I just gave upBreakfast is just breakfast nothing to write about it Good customer service

We were greeted by a friendly crew who welcomed my children with popcorn The pool was a nice temperature and the hot tub wasn’t overchlorinated and had nice jets The room was clean, the drinks were delicious

This hotel provides such a great value when travelling with family or just having a get together with friends I was thoroughly impressed with my visit

Philip Roehm

Location has a decent variety of stuff around The Room itself was decent as well, but very odd The room i stayed in was large but so large the temperature control unit was not able to manage the entire room

There was about a 20 degrees temperature difference between the wall unit and the door of the room The bathroom was also a bit small when compared to the size of the room, so was a bit disappointed with that There was also no fan in the bathroom so trying to do anything in the mirror needed to be done before using the shower The beds were extremely comfortable and alarm clock was very modernThe best part was the staff, staff was always helpful and always there when i needed Although this place says a “free breakfast buffet” included in the stay, i showed up for breakfast and it was self serve waffle makers and coffee, no cereal, and some eggs So if you’re looking for a quality breakfast I’d rather go to the Panera bread next doorAll in all a good place, very quiet and pleasant but not with the amenities they should have if you’re staying in the area for longer than a couple days

I’m originally from Dayton and recently went home for a visit I had been wanting to stay at this location so finally booked a couple nights Upon arrival Lisa was amazing and SUPER fun! We had several good laughs before I went up to what was considered a king suite

The only real difference is that it had a large sitting area The room was impeccable as was the rest of the hotel I couldn’t believe it The staff were so friendly and constantly checking to make sure I didn’t need anything The parking garage was great and super easy I normally stay at the full service Marriott by The University of Dayton but in the future I’ll be staying at this brand instead

Samantha Cobin

My family and I just stopped really late at night and left early but it was honestly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in The toys in the lobby were a nice added touch for my daughter It was so clean and comfortable

The little shopping market was great, the night before we stayed in a hotel that had an odd smell and no where to buy water so I appreciate how easy and comfortable this hotel makes it to be a guest

Tamara Berg

This is a shout out to Patrice at the Hilton on Millennial in Dayton, who should be promoted to bar manager and allowed to work with local distributors to improve everything about the bar experienceWe sat down at the bar to no cocktail menu, no dry white wine and no tap beer Disappointed for sure, as we had hoped to hang out for a few cocktails

So, I ordered a bullet bourbon straight up with ice on the side, 2 cherries and a orange slice Patrice measured out an exact shot and asked me if I wanted one or two Since one shot barely filled the bottom of the glass, I asked for 2 My partner orders 2 12-ounce cans of a beer from the brewery across the street Our bar bill was $38When I questioned the amount, Patrice told us it was $10 for each shot This was a standard bar shot that complied with “corporate”I paid my bill, left a 18% tip, and explained why we would never come back Patrice was polite and said she was sorry, but doing her job She left and came back and said she spoke to a manager not on location, who approved a credit to our room to take $30 off our stayI was impressed by the way Patrice handled this and as we continued our conversation, it’s clear she has a vision for the bar and the hotel!!!! This is the kind of employee you should be promoting to leadership!!! Seriously, Patrice is a great asset you should be developing to lead this place!

We stayed three nights from Minnesota to visit family and celebrate Kings Islands 50th birthday Very convenient to a myriad of restaurant choices The staff at this hotel was very good and room rate more than reasonable

Room was very clean and the beds comfy The hot breakfast was one of the best with choices of two meats- bacon and sausage The pancake machine was a clean way to make pancakes and the cinnamon rolls were very good The breakfast staff (two were working) were excellent staying on top of everything Mike at the front desk greeted us with great customer service we don’t seem to get much lately at other hotels He checked to make sure our room needs were met We will stay here again

Stayed for two nights visiting family in the area Prices were comparable to other hotels and the staff were friendly helpful The hotel, like most businesses in the service/hospitality industry was short staffed, but for the most part that didn’t impact the stay

Room was clean and comfy, and the location was nearby several other restaurants and had easy access to the highway

The service was excellent! While inspecting my room I was personally texted and asked if anything was needed Which I ended up texting back and asking for a roll away bed Which was delivered quite quickly! Great service! After a rough waking because the ROTC was there as well

My breakfast was comped I will definitely stay here again soon
