I loved leaving the balcony door open and hearing the waves all nightCons: There was rust on a lot of the fixtures and the room had a damp odor In their defense this is pretty typical of hotels right on the beach

Pros: Breakfast was good with many options Great location I love getting up to see the sunrise (as you can see from the photos)! The room rates were also very competitive Also the young man who checked us in was the nicest and most helpful hotel front desk worker I have ever met

( almost a 4)We chose this HIE for my birthday getaway, as we both love waking on the beach and my wife loves ocean front balconies She was not thrilled with the garbage bins in the parking lot but the views of the ocean as you enter the lobby are appealing But the hallway corridor leading to our room ‘ showed its age ‘ and again , left an unpleasant impression

We knew this was an older facility and did recognize the solid effort in room renovations Room , bedding and bathroom were are comfortable overall , excepting the strong musty odor in the closet ( we wouldn’t leave our clothes in there )Nice balcony and good proximity to dining optionsThere was a noise issue but to their credit , management was quick to acknowledge and address the problem and apologize That is appreciated; they do seem to care The breakfast attendant was quite nice as well Overall good value by using IHG points

☀️FAMILY FRIENDLY VACATION HOTEL!🐚🐠💦🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊Beautiful spot to visit/ vacation Very nice area! Gorgeous ocean front view! Delicious free breakfast!Didn’t like that I had to pay a daily $10 parking fee and $20 for incidentals This hotel can get pretty pricey, but the bed alone is worth it!It’s in South Daytona near Ponce Inlet

Excellent customer service and daily house keeping if needed I definitely recommend!

I enjoyed my stay at the Hampton Inn at New Smyrna Beach The entrance to this hotel is a little hidden, I missed the entrance the first time around but once you know what you’re looking for it’s not a big deal Guest services was very friendly when we arrived and informed us to everything the hotel had to offer

This hotel did offer breakfast, coffee all day and the breakfast was surprisingly good, it wasn’t just cereal and beagles like most hotels The reason I didn’t give the hotel 5 stars was because of the room(didn’t take a picture🙄) I expect something a little more for how pricey the hotel was It didn’t have a mini fridge to keep any drinks, I expect that at the bare minimum The room was very basic Don’t get me wrong, the beds were comfortable the room was a good size, the A/C got very cold, the room smelled clean The hotel does have gated parking, that’s a plus What I enjoyed most of this hotel was the location It’s located very close to the beach, you can walk from the hotel, and there’s restaurants near by for dining I hope this review helps you make your decision a little easier, and if it does please give me a 👍

FLBeachBum

Let me start by applauding Nick at the front desk for one of the warmest and most thorough check-ins I’ve experienced in a long time He’s a gem! The hotel feels more like a boutique B&B than a hotel, which made it all the more delightful The room was clean and breakfast was satisfying

You can walk easily to the beach, with several shops and dining options along the way

Edit

For the price I paid, it wasn’t worth it No fridge or microwave in the room I have a diabetic mother that needed to keep her insulin cold No way to heat up anything either Also, the chair lift by the pool wasn’t working and no staff knew how to work it So my wheelchair bound mom couldn’t get in the pool our entire stay The only reason I gave 3 stars was because the hotel was nice, location was good, breakfast was good and staff was friendly For the prices you charge the above shouldn’t have been an issue!

The hotel is clean and centrally located, the rooms are spacious, great breakfast Be ware when booking on the SpringHill Suites website! The website shows the initial day’s rate of the chosen room type but does not show fluctuations in the rate from day to day (just says flexible rate!!) If you are staying for more than one night, ensure to review the details of each daily rate

There was a $110 rate difference in our room rate from the first night to the next, which the Marriott website seemed to neglect to make visibleRegular check in time of 4PM was not honored and there was a 45 minute wait time to get in the room The staff seemed to be highly overwhelmed during the Spring break Many hotels welcome outside guests that utilize resorts services for a fee Instead, we observed main entry sliding doors locked! And everyone coming in was questioned to ensure each guest was a hotel guest only In general, any communication was curt, short, border lining a rude manner Instead of a welcoming atmosphere, we felt on the edge when on hotel grounds Shouldn’t customer service and good vibes be the priority of a business in the hospitality industry?

We stayed at this property for one night so we could be close to the beach The property is conveniently located right on the beach The pool overlooks the ocean and is a beautiful place to spend the weekend

The parking is in the basement and a little tricky to maneuver around in so smaller vehicles work best The rooms were well appointed, clean, and some have a view of the ocean There is a Starbucks in the lobby and a bar, both convenient along with the breakfast that is included A nice place to stay on a gorgeous white sandy beach!

Big Nick

Nice spot right on the water, the beach is literally right outside the lobby Parking is $15 a day and it is in a secured garage The place is very clean and the staff is friendly! They have rooms with balconies over the beach, but I didn’t get one, none were available

This place has free breakfast and the pool is small but clean! This is definitely a place I would come back to

Absolutely beautiful place to stay right on the water Very short distance to the beach The hotel is beautiful, the beds are super comfortable

We put our breakfast order in the night before and they delivered breakfast to our door the next morning Although it was a pretty limited menu, we were surprised at how good the food was Staff was amazing Would definitely stay here again

Scott Emerling

This place is great My wife and I both had massages there The staff were very friendly and professional

The massage was very relaxing They have an outdoor pool and hot tub with waterfalls in it You can lounge in the chairs or pool after the massage They have water, coffee, tea and snacks to enjoy with no rush to get you out of there We really enjoyed it

Planned a visit for our anniversary and enjoyed our stay The location is wonderful and the rooms quite uniqueUnfortunately, our friend had arranged to prepay for most of the room fee and asked for a card to be left for us indicating the gift and wishing us a happy celebration

While the credit was apparently applied, we were unaware as the balance was billed to ‘the card on file’This made for a very awkward conversation when it was mentioned to us, as we had not been able to thank our friend properlyAs an independent inn, it’s unfortunate they couldn’t have made the small extra effort for us

My family and I enjoyed a lot The place is Beach front You can enjoy the pool looking to the beach, which is right in front of it

The room is fully equipped with everything you need to stay how long you need/can They have a room to eat with table and chairs but they don’t have a breakfast Unfortunately the WiFi didn’t work and the pool get close at dusk They charge a $100 deposit but they return to you at the same day you checkout The parking lot is free and very big, which won’t be a problem find a free spot to your vehicle Overall is a great experience and an excellent place to spend some time with your family

Lauren Wray

Day 1, there was someone else’s sock that fell out of the bedding We called the front desk and we were told that we have to strip the bed, bring the bedding down, get new bedding, and remake our bed but only could get the bedding during certain hoursThe dishwasher is very small and they only provide a small amount of dishwashing pods and told us we were responsible for replacing them

There was 1 nice front desk lady who apologized for how everything was being run2 stars because there’s a nice view of the ocean and there’s an adult only hot tub, but other than that I do not recommend this place

kathryn White

This resort is a joke I have been coming here with my family for 20years and I use to love it here Not Anymore! My family is now displaced for the week with no rooms available after I had a confirmation that this was my week

I was told they changed my week back in May of 2021 and never emailed me the changed dates I was told they physically handed me the changed dates This never happened I have no conformation on my end that this ever happened and they have no proof that they have it to me On top of that I was called a liar I will never recommend this place to anyone and I’m selling my timeshare Worst business in NSB

So on a last minute decision my family wanted a few days on the beach before leaving We booked a room on the last minute They found us a room! The quietness was very relaxing! We were close to a grocery store, and a souvenir store

Access to the beach is right there with wash area to get the sand off There was also a great dining area, and the staff was very sweet! The concierge was awesome, and the staff! Definitely a great place to finish off vacation! And awesome vibes!

Claudia Huffman

My experience was a really good one Especially with the staff, everyone was so kind & warm From front desk to the cleaning staff

CJ at the front was amazing, so helpful and knowledgable Couldn’t have asked for a nicer more helpful person Took my mom & daughter for an early Mother’s day stay The room was unique- bedroom and kitchen/sitting area were separated My only 2 issues were the walls are super thin, you can hear other guests in their rooms talking but thankfully not too bad and my other issue was the beds were not super comfy However, the room was clean and we enjoyed our stay

Great location with oceanfront rooms We upgraded to direct oceanfront and our room has two balconies and a separate bedroom from living & kitchen area Great for our four day stay

We brought our bikes and rode up and down the beach at low tide, plus visited Ponce Preserve Breakfast was great with lots of variety to pick from Only complaints were the balconies need some attention, the rails were in need of powder coating and there was mold in several areas The shower was awkward and wasted a ton of water by making you turn it on full blast, I like the option of using less water, they need to change those handles out Our shower ceiling looked like there had been a leak above at some point and had been repaired, but could use a coat of paint to cover that up For a Marriott property, there were some items that need addressing Overall we had a great stay and will visit again for the beaches and the view

The hotel is lovely, the breakfast is great It was clean and very nice I stayed here over the memorial day weekend

I forgot 2 gold necklaces When I realized my mistake it was over a day later I called and spoke to housekeeping who told me both my necklaces were turned in I returned to the hotel the next day (a 2 1/2 hour drive) and sure enough they were there One necklace was a family heirloom and the other a rather pricey necklace I have stayed in many places through the years and I can honestly say this was a first! The honest folks that work there are applauded I was humbled by their honesty Thank you housekeeping for making my day I recommend this hotel and I will be sure and stay there again

Richard W

Here is my very objective review:Pro: large room, nice free breakfastCon: Dated facilities, lack of certain optional amenitiesIt’s a decent hotel and I am a big Marriott fan Yet, my room just feels old! Kitchen is nice but mine have a water leaking issue

When compared to a nearby Marriott hotel within a mile I have to lower one star

My husband Jason and I had never stayed at a BNB before, so we didn’t know quit what to expect

We were very pleasantly surprised and greatly enjoyed our stay here! Tommy was a great host, and made delicious breakfast for us every morning we were there On top of that he was very accommodating to my finicky diet, which was greatly appreciated, and beyond what was expected! I love the porch swing and all of the stained glass features! The ice maker in the dining area was very useful, and we used that everyday I also made use of the garden tub every evening that was in our room (we stayed in one of the upstairs rooms that had this feature, not sure if all rooms do) We look forward to our next visit!

Anchor Inn is a beautiful place to stay with warm welcoming hosts The rooms are beautifully decorated and have all the amenities you need for a great stay the home cooked breakfast is delicious each morning and the hosts are very accommodating for any diet

We love staying here with our dogs since it’s so close to the dog beaches but would definitely recommend Anchor Inn to anyone with or without a pup We’ve stayed 5 times and will always come back when visiting NSB

Percy Pomeroy

Nice, clean B&B with friendly staff and excellent breakfast with some food available 24 hours Short drive to the beach You can walk to the beach if you need to log your steps

Very short walking distance to the old historic downtown I stayed in the mermaid room and it definitely had that theme The room door opened to the outside I purchased a mug because I liked it so much!

Wow! My Wife and I set reservations at the Black Dolphin Inn for our anniversary and absolutely loved our stay! Brett and his Team were very professional, accommodating and made sure their guest’s experience was one to remember in the best of ways! Our room was very clean and felt like it was made up especially for us! Ohhh and do not let me forget to share about the food they serve! Chef Joshua was cooking up some amazingly tasty breakfasts! Heck! The wife and I would come back just to have one of those breakfast sandwiches they make!! 🙂 If you are ever in the area The Black Dolphin Inn is definitely a place to consider for your stay!

Excellent and pleasantly surprised We only stayed here one night, having never been before Firstly, the location is great

Very close to the beach You could tell the building was recently renovated and very attractive Our room was excellent – high ceilings, cool decor, big bed, a tub with jets We slept comfortably and it was quiet and very clean The staff was friendly and helpful, and their breakfast was very tasty! We would definitely stay here again, its a gem

Stephanie Blatnik

We recently stayed in the honeymoon suite during our trip to FL I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’m so glad we booked here Everything exceeded our expectations

The room was spacious, well decorated, and very well cared for It was extremely clean and had lots of amenities (wet bar, coffee station, plenty of bathroom supplies and towels) The AC worked very well (a must in FL) We loved the balcony and sat there every morning for breakfast Breakfast exceeded expectations as well – home cooked and delivered to our room on time If you’re considering booking here, I’d highly recommend it

Warm, friendly and professional staff, from check in to the wait staff The hotel has an amazing calm smell of a spa that you notice the moment you enter Restaurant, bar, pool and hot tub well maintained and staffed

Beautiful views and immediate access to the beach We had the most amazing meals at the restaurant and I had the absolute best hamburger I have ever had at the outside bar managed by Lorrie! Oh yes the Coastal wings are the bomb! This will definitely be our go to place when we are in town! Thank you for a relaxing and carefree stay!

Brent Kane

This was our first stay at The Shores The accommodation were great The mini fridge in the room was nice to have

The coffee maker in the room was a single serve style that uses flat pods basically consisting of coffee grounds in a coffee filter pouch If you’re a coffee person you can bring coffee and small coffee filters Pour some grinds in your filter, fold it over a few times and it will work like a champ The valet folks did a great job We didn’t eat at the restaurants on the property so we can’t say what they’re like The facility was clean and well staffed everywhere Bartenders were great and were not selfish with their pours The views are stunning and the balconies are spacious Everything in the room worked as you’d expect If our adventures bring us back to the Daytona area again this is where we’ll stay

Astrid Cardona

So, I was trying to be fair with my ratings because the location was nice, the property is beautiful but feel like there should be microwaves in the rooms, better coffee machines and they don’t have roll out beds I feel like most hotels have that and because of this I have to overall give it a four stars They have a really nice property so if you have exactly four people in your party, there should be no issues

A/C sometimes gets too warm I’d go back again but would make sure to bring a blow up bed
