The room was comfortable, well appointed, quiet, and exceptionally cleanIt is family owned and run, and they are obviously putting their profits back into the rooms to make sure they are up to date Currently there are new air conditioner/heaters being stored for installation when the weather is appropriate for the work

We are currently in the middle of a 3 night stay We will definitely be back! For the money, you will not find a better place to stay!

I took a trip this weekend with my girlfriend and we stayed at the RosewoodMy girlfriend picked it so I knew it would be good; imagine my pleasant and somewhat shocked surprise when it turned out to be the single best stayover that I’ve ever had in any of my travelsThe owner is one of the greatest hostesses you can imagine

The breakfasts and their presentation were royal affairs, and the room itself was old-world and unfailingly classy at all timesI could not possibly recommend this place enough If you are even within a proximal distance from Rosewood, treat yourself and STAY THEREYou will not regret one second of it

This was reasonably priced Exactly what we neededThey were remodeling

We got to our room and the windows were covered with brown paper and painter’s tape Lol! It was fine we just wanted a clean, reasonable place to sleep and shower It was a bit dark even with the lights but we were not there to sit in a hotel room all day- just sleep I would stay there again I bookmarked it so if we go that way again we can stay there It’s close to a lot of store’s and restaurants We didn’t use the TV, microwave or hairdryer The fridge worked fine Clean bathroom Stayed on 2nd floor

Sommer Lynn Miller

The rooms were a little congested due to being on the 2nd floor and the windows not opening It smelled pretty stuffy but, the rooms were clean, missing a blanket on both beds The bathroom is just a tub/shower and toilet which is fine but they are so small that only 1 person can just stand in there at a time! There was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot with coffee that were all very clean in the rooms, wifi and direct TV! Perfect for a quiet night away

My family was visiting from New Jersey for my sons graduation party they had 5 rooms booked at O’Briens There was a water break situation at the motel and they weren’t able to accommodate all 5 rooms Jesse, one of the owners suggested they all stay together at a local chain hotel, he made the call and over accommodated my family

Don’t overlook O‘Briens for your out of town guests or while visiting the finger lake regionRenovated rooms, bar and lounge Good food and a beautiful viewThank you for taking great care of my family and our plans

Lorie Anderson

Attended a wedding & reception here The window shade was broken and wouldn’t go down to accommodate photos without the glare off the windows Food service wasn’t up to par

chicken was dry, garlic knots didn’t come out with the rest of the meal, as previously arranged, had to ask for water and rice was provided that was not on the menu; the wedding toast was not what was arranged for as requested There was no one go-to events manager for assistance and Management didn’t seem to place a priority on the event No prior preparations were made as far as table setup, linens, etc I would not hold an event here

Marcus Coppola

The food is fantastic It truly ranks with the best in the area From

wings to steaks you can’t do better for your money period The food you see made by Chris Streeter and 6 beverages was just under a hundred Ann came to the table and packed our leftovers Excellent draft beers including local crafts At home like service and the best wings money can buy Oh, the scenery is good too

We just booked our second visit to Villa Bernese, we loved it in 2014 when we stayed for the Wine Glass Marathon The breakfast was absolutely stunning, and Tony & Marianne are just the most pleasant and kind hosts We stayed in the Jacuzzi suite last time and will be in the Valley View this next visit in October

I can’t wait to see this room!Everything about this place is tasteful and inviting Highly recommended

Anil Arora

The best bed and breakfast place We were a bit skeptical going for a b&b in a small town, hesitated even when about to enter the premises Quickly found our fears were unfounded

A very lovely European couple (owners) welcomed us in at the door Served wine on the deck overlooking the valley, a beautiful site The room was well furnished and very comfortable Made friends with the two other couples who were their repeat guests This will be our go to place to stay when we are in Corning

GBK

If we could give Villa Bernese more stars we would An absolutely beautiful setting and home, and Tony and Marianne are the most gracious and considerate hosts you will ever meet The location is a perfect home base for visiting the Corning area and the Finger Lakes

And when you return in the evening you can relax on one of the decks with a glass of wine and enjoy the viewsMarianne is a phenomenal cook, and the breakfast she serves is beyond descriptionMarianne and Tony, we look forward to returning next year and would not even think of staying anywhere other than Villa Bernese Thanks for making our visit so specialGreg and Cindy Kosty

Everything about the house is charming and thoughtfully put together – it’s a cozy, comfortable and welcoming place that makes you want to stay longer! Hard to name just one favorite thing, but I think what impressed me the most was the care with which the house is stocked, from the well-appointed kitchen to the array of thoughtful toiletries provided You immediately feel how much care went into making this a beautiful, welcoming place for guests to feel at home Kitty is a host second to none

Mike Bellmore

This is long overdue My wife and I went last year, and I still get a cozy feeling when I reflect on our time there! Friends, this is MORE than a cottage The outside has a “cottage” feel – but you’re getting a fully stocked house! We had come off a vacation earlier in the summer with a list of issues, so this find was sweet redemption

A thoughtful scavenger hunt for the kids, a bottle of wine for my wife and I, freshly baked muffins or cookies; my memory is failing me, but it was delicious I remember that much! All living and bedrooms areas were well appointed Bathrooms had everything you could need Every room was clean and Wi-Fi signal was never an issue A short drive to downtown Elmira, and a scenic drive to big box/shopping areas, its perfectly nestled between the two I usually don’t sleep well while away, but even the bed was comfortable I also like to add comments on things I feel might need some attention Can’t do it! I couldn’t find any! This place would be great for a weekend get away, or full blown home away from home You’ve done a terrific job Kitty, I wish you continued success!

For what it is and the location, this place is great We paid $135 a night for a room Location is fantastic within a block to downtown corning where there are lots of great options for dining and great stores

A lovely place to walk around Parking at the hotel is free Hotel is pet friendly but charges an outrageous $65 (!!!!!) fee per night for our dog which is extortionate Rooms are very tired but water is hot, water pressure is good I would stay here again when passing through

Piyush Jaiswal

Last time for me here, when I came back in 2021 this place was well maintained and had good no of staff so that everything is well taken care ofSo I came back in 2022 and this place is short staffed, rooms are not maintained, Coffee in the lobby is cold, half of the lift are not working, receptionist is grumpy due to long working hrsOn asking them why it’s so bad, all they have the same covid excuse

I’m giving this hotel 5 stars because I’ve stayed here several times over the last 4-5 years and it has never disappointed me The staff is friendly The rooms are clean

Specifically the bathroom is always clean, very important to me The beds and sheets are clean and comfortable I never have issues with too much noise or anything disturbing my stay And the breakfast is always good I will likely stay here whenever I’m in the area

Jules B

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights Pros: great location close to many restaurants and the hwy The room was clean and the bed was comfortable

Most of the staff was fairly pleasant Cons: the air conditioning is extremely high! There is no reason why they’d need to keep the hotel so cold The unit in our room was also broken and never shut off The hotel was fully booked, knowing this they were not prepared The breakfast 3 mornings in a row were out of food whether it was toast, bagels, yogurt Coffee was either cold or empty Wifi was horrible It worked in our room only if you stood by the door It was mentioned to the gentleman at the counter but was told that it was slow because so many people were using it If they are aware there is an issue just say so Many people complained about it while we were there Please improve, these are all easy things to fix!

Amy Ross

When we arrived we advised we were told we could pay cash The young girl was complaining to me why that other employee should not have told me that She then said she had to call her manager

I heard the whole conversation and heard her say I believe her but I am not sure why the other employee would say that We then came to our room It was very old, and the bed was lumpy We asked for more towels and toilet paper for the room and the same girl sighed as I was bothering her We got a fair night sleep We went to get coffee in the morning and it was ice cold I would not recommend this hotel Sadly there is other hotels on the same exit which looked more modern and they were the same price

Great hotel Had to book last minute due to snowstorm Incredibly friendly and responsive staff

Shout out especially to Courtney for her responding quickly and efficiently to our few requests And the maintenance guy for loaning us a shovel, and plow guy for doing an extra sweep so we could get our car out of the lot Great complimentary breakfast spread Spacious room Highly recommend

Wayne W.

I canvased many hotels in the area and found Staybridge Suites have the best reports for my weekend stay Upon checking in until the time I checked out I found the reviews are correct! The staff is totally helpful and courteous Housekeeping is EXCELLENT! The room I stayed in is completely sanitized & perfectly clean! The room decor is modern and pleasant

No need for anyone who reads this review to look anywhere else for a stay in Corning or Painted Post Centrally located and in a quite secluded & safe area… this will become your one stop shop for any stay!

Mary Rose A

Hotel itself was nice, but rooms are not at all soundproofed and all we could hear at all hours were children and dogs Nicely furnished, appeared newer, and was decorated for Valentine’s Day Great location, close to the glass museum and many restaurants

Would not recommend if you want to relax or sleep, but would recommend if you have loud children and/or dogs
