I have to write a review about this Hotel The pros: Front desk and Restaurant people were very professional and attentive to our needs Everything about the breakfast was superb! For a few days staying there we enjoyed a different menu every morning, which is so rare nowadays

You name it was there! For every taste, even a vegan section 👌 Everything else deserved a 4 star The ac/heater unit was so loud and it was in auto switch so anytime it was on, you will hear it 🙄 We never got the room service maid in No sheets were changed, the garbage disposal were pack with stuff Fortunately for us we had enough toiletry in the bath to lasts a few days and also extra towels Beds were very comfortable Hallways always very quiet Will choose the same Hotel if returning to the area ☺️

The parking was very easy for our large truck Also the location was easy for us going to the store and getting take out food The pool was nice and warm Also the lobby and breakfast area was very nice I highly recommend! A+

Unfortunately, the neighbors were being wild! It seemed as though they were having a party for 2 Although it sounded like there were many people in there They were yelling, screaming, slamming doors and partying until 2:20 a

m when we finally asked to be moved to another floor and wing of the hotelWe had stayed at this hotel previously and found it to be very comfortable The beds are very comfortable as are the linensThey also have a good choice for the breakfast buffet which is included

I review a fair bit and travel a lot so I stay at a lot of hotels I do tend to stay at the cheaper ones This is not the worst but they got my hairs up at the beginning

I show up at 3 Go in to check in, no one there I ring the bell for 10 mins No one there I yell into the kitchen and halls To no availI went back at 5 It was the same situation No one thereI went back at 6 I do see the lad, and say there you are He blows it off and chats away Friendly enough Nothing to make up for the lack of anyone being thereBeyond that it was fine Room was clean, bed was comfortable Plumbing sucks but it worked For the price it is what it is Just a little annoyed at the start of the journey They should look into a louder bell Or have someone there at check in time

We stayed 2 nights Comfy beds great breakfast I had requested 1st floor because of my mobility issue when I first booked

Upon arriving I again requested main floor because stairs are difficult if fire or any issue And I was refused Very disappointing and there was a lack of concern on the her part for that Many hotels in the area too pick from The rest of the employees were wonderful happy and very pleasant

This hotel leads the Watertown community in excellent customer service I come to Watertown, NY every year for 2 weeks at a time and have had the opportunity to stay at various hotels This year the Holiday Inn exceeded my expectations

The staff was accommodating and so pleasant In addition, this is possibly the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed inThe breakfast was fresh, hot and plentiful There was good food variety day to day Only the orange juice was ever in short supplyHouse keeping was efficient and thorough I would highly recommend this hotel for an extended stay or a quick overnight trip

While rooms and our stay was ok, we had an unfortunate incident Our Thule Urban Glide 2 Stroller (Retail – $700+) was stolen from the premiseWhile the staff was helpful in police investigation, it seems homeless people often wonder around the place

The review is more for the surrounding area where hotel is located

Upon arrival front desk girl was very indifferent and basically never looked up Another gal on check out was very friendly The rooms are extremely small

I was grossed out finding a long legged dead bug on my comforter Also the room just felt damp and could not really make it all that comfortable Breakfast wasn’t much better Coffee was not good and there wasn’t even packets of oatmeal Very little to choose from Very disappointing I went to dunkin to get food and coffee

Gigi Auguste

I should have went to a different hotel when I walked into the room after seeing used chewing gum balled up from the last guest on the floor, which was not cleaned up by the housekeepers We were just passing by and needed somewhere to stay for the night The room was not fully cleaned

Chewing gum was on the floor and the bathtub appeared not to be clean as it had black spots from not being scrubbed I asked three different hotel staff for late checkout, I wanted pay for late checkout, they said it was noted Apparently the employees do not communicate with each other as the housekeepers still came into the room Then as I was outside they called the police on my sleeping 13 years son, the police left of course because it was nonsense Nonetheless, this was traumatizing for him When I asked to discuss the events with the manager who called the police, the front desk girl (who was apologetic and kind) said the manager stated “he doesn’t want to speak to me as he is done for the day” The level of customer service from management and most staff is zero

Excellent location, breakfast was amazing Everyone from the front desk (day and night people) were amazing to my children and my family We stayed here because it was a hotel that could accommodate my whole family in same room

Turned out to be so much more Thank you for all the extremely professional hospitality from front desk, maintenance when we had problem with air conditioner, to the lady that worked cleaning at breakfast 10/10 Great job!

It is definitely old fashioned but was extremely clean Great location, and had everything you would needAs long as a place is clean and things work, I will never complain about a place this cheap

Location is right off 81 and about 5 minutes from a couple of fast food places Water for the shower was hot and good pressure Heating and a/c worked well This is the perfect place to crash for a night after a day of driving and/or coming from CanadaThere is a kitchenette as well which is nice

Ajaja Ajaja

Customer service here is appalling, to be honest, reception is pure RACIST They had the vacancy neon light on when I walked in to ask for a room The two old ladies acted “confused” as of they didn’t understand that I needed a room to sleep

After consulting back and forth, they told me that there is no room As I walked out of the reception, they turn the vacancy light off A few minutes after I left, I drove by just to see the vacancy light back on

morgan matott

Very outdated Smelled like mold as soon as we entered our room Saw stains on our sheets, whether they had been washed or not should not matter

More than once, staff was not available when we tried reaching them Lastly, we ended up with BED BUG BITES from there, specifically room 101 If I could include photos with this review post, Trust me I would!!! The staff were not remorseful whatsoever when we reported it to them, and they continued to say it was not their residence to blame Careless disappointing facility

I get that it’s a lower star hotel because of the price and amenities, but as far as customer service goes, this place is 5-star all the way It is a cheaper hotel, but that’s what makes the customer service so outstanding – great rate and super friendly staff/management! Side note: People complaining about the breakfast need to manage their expectations If you want the red carpet rolled out, don’t book a budget hotel

This stay exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be staying here again the next time I’m in the area! Thank you, Mr Patel and staff! For many reason, this was a 5-star stay!

Mitchell

Overall a decent stay Good service, the hotel is clean and well maintained, and the price and location are good My review would be higher except for the fact that they cut every corner possible on amenities

The “breakfast” consists of yogurt and cereal, but if you aren’t there as soon as it opens they run out of everything So don’t plan on getting a filling breakfast at any point, and don’t expect to even consistently get foodThe “fitness center” consists solely of a treadmill, a bike, and a pull-up barThe mini fridge barely seals and lacks a freezer section, and on top of that the microwave overheats and stops workingNot a bad hotel for a few nights, but I would not recommend it for long stays

Shelina Millan

Dangerous We decided to stay here for two nights as it had two Queen beds and a pull out couch which would accommodate our family When we arrived and pulled out the sofa bed it was filthy

I called down to the office they brought me a vacuum cleaner and watched me clean the bed During the night someone tried to open our door Luckily they did not get in as we had the security latch at the top of the door on We noticed that the door would not close When we alerted staff they said that they were aware of the door issue and that we heeded to pull up on the door to latch it securely (Would have been nice to know in advance) The manager came up and fixed the door and said that he would make the bill right Come to find out a dirty room and lack of safety means only 10% off the bill I do not recommend staying here

We had been traveling most of the day, it was late and were thankful to have finally found a place that allowed a small dog That being basically the only redeeming quality The entire building has a strong moth ball scent permeating throughout

(It must be a natural remedy for some type of pest) Our room had not been really cleaned as evidenced by the used soap in the shower, used towel hanging on the towel rack, toothpaste stains on the bathroom counter and hair tie on the bathroom floor (as well as a dreaded moth ball) Unfortunately, we didn’t notice any of these things until morning when we went to shower before leaving The room smelled so strongly of moth balls that it burned my sinuses and kept me up most of the night The only way to get assistance was to ring a bell which appeared to lead to the manager’s private residence on site As we were leaving early, it didn’t seem worth the hassle to awaken them at 7:30am (the front office area lights were still off) to share the concerns

Traveller

We stayed here for a while, despite the news floating around about this place I wouldn’t have been comfortable without my husband with me

I mean, I REALLY don’t suggest trying to make any new friends here but the wifi is great for Netflix and gaming, the water gets hot fast, the windows open all the way, the employees are helpful, the curtains make it really dark in the morning, and the air conditioning is cold! If anything is wrong with your room they will accommodate you to a new room I just don’t advise talking to other people who have rooms here Be smart with leaving or coming to your room and be aware of your surroundings, the stairwells don’t have cameras but the halls and outside does There is a centralized elevator if you need to use it Also, there is a Subway & Pizza Hut basically in the same parking lot

Stayed one night and that was enough This place needs severe up grading and a good cleaning All the furniture was banged up, old and the chair in our room was ripped

The towels were flimsy and dingy The lamps and shades were dusty Pillows were horrible and oldClearly whoever owns this place does not care about customer service or the quality of their establishmentWe were unfamiliar neither the area and chose poorly There is more than enough other motels including right next door , which we would have move to, but hubby paid online in advance Spend your money elsewhere

Leslie Small

Quite a few problems with this hotel There was an outlet that was falling out of the wall, is probably the biggest one Room service cleaned our room and took all of the towels, when we called the front desk, they had my wife go into the laundry room to get her own out of the dryer

Same thing with bathroom tissue Room was clean, though Overall, not a great experience and would not stay again

Dee Burdette

The door would not close securely by itself The refrigerator would not keep milk cold enough and ruined Two out of the first ten days the room did not get cleaned

Then I returned to my room twice and found that housekeeping did not ensure the door was closed so my room was unsecure for an unknown amount of time Just disappointed in the entire experience

More then meets the eye at first glance They must have done extensive renovations over the last few years Rooms are elegant and smell nice

Not of smoke What a relief The outside does not do justice to the effort put in to make this a great motel Just the kind a family would love taking the kids on the road A welcome throw back to years gone by Relaxing, calm and not your MacDonald’s Cookie cutter motels I like it

Lisa Johns

I rate this motel excellent on cleanliness I was given the chance to look at the room before renting From looking at the old motel structure and hallway, I did not expect much but I as opened the room door, I was pleasantly surprised

Room was very clean and furniture was updated–fridge, microwave, and flat screen TV was a plus! I loved their mattress, it was comfortable and sheets were clean and even smelled good I was little disappointed that no breakfast served in the morning but room rate was very reasonable Young man at the front desk very politeOverall, old motel, but clean and great value for your money I would recommend this motel if you are trying to be financially conservative

Marcella Laramay

The rooms are pretty basic, but comfortable enough Flat screen TV’s, large comfortable king bed

it was heated by a portable floor heater, though The reason this place gets such a low score is the complete lack of hospitality or customer service from the owner Let me preface this by saying that my family has owned and operated a small motel for 25 years I stayed overnight because my car had broken down nearby (which I spoke to him about at length) It was freezing The next morning I went to the front desk to ask for a late checkout – just an hour or so – because my car wasn’t ready yet and I would have to walk to the dealership and stand around in their lobby Nope He “doesn’t like to do late checkoutsunless you pay for it” He wanted to charge me extra for a mere hour despite having PLENTY of vacant rooms and knowing that I was in a pretty desperate situation How someone like this has survived for ANY length of time in the hospitality industry is baffling to me There was nothing hospitable about this Steer clear of this place if being treated like a person is on your list of priorities

Such a nice, clean quiet hotel for extended stay and appears remodeled Modern amenities and full kitchen, large closet and bathroom I can walk to the Dollar Tree and Walmart is literally up the block

Nice laundromat up the street too but laundry is free here for guests Has a nice patio and lending closet Staff are great One went out of her way to help me print a time sheet for work I am loving my stay Other guests are nice too Not even possible to leave a bad review

Brashdon Riley

rooms aren’t bad generally clean; mattress pad had stains wouldn’t replaceif you have Children i would not recommend this place

staff has poor Customer interaction skills the guy in 419 complained daily final straw was at 5pm on 6/26 when the lackey on for the hotel told me that if i didn’t keep my children quiet we’d have to leave he comes back 10 minutes later because creeper in 419 complained again this time he tells me that if i can’t control my kids he’s calling the police because he doesn’t want to deal with itfor context kids are 5, 18 months only complaints were made during 10am to 7pm……hotel “quiet hours” are 10pm-7am

Kristy Mulholland

Just spent July 3rd to July 7th at Candlewood Suites and all the staff there were really friendly and helpful and the room was amazing Looks like it was just freshly remodeledWe didn’t arrive until 3 am the first night but checking in was a breeze, our room keys were right there at the desk waiting for us and we ended up adding a extra night with late checkout with no major issues, the one minor issue we had was after 11 am on day of check out our keycard automatically stopped working even though we were checking out late, thankfully my daughter was still in the room to let me back in

The beds were so comfortable and the entire room was very clean The bathroom had Dove body wash, shampoo, conditioner dispenser in shower and Dove hand soap and lotion dispenser by the sink I really like that less mess compared to the bar soaps and travel sized shampoo and conditionerThe hotel is also conveniently located near restaurants and Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree and Aldi’sWill definitely be staying there again the next time we are in the area
