The check in process was very seamless, and I was able to check in early The general aesthetic of the lobby was fresh and spunky The rooms were adequately designed in a rather stylishly simple, yet functional set up

The decor was modern and cute The beds were very comfortable The gym was decent , and served the purpose for a short stay There were lots of food and dining options with walking distance… the location was great The staff was very polite and helpful and rather accommodating The stay overall was wonderful

Lauren

Clean, modern rooms and big lobby, standard size rooms with very nice bathrooms! Things to be known that weren’t issues for us whatsoever, but we didn’t realize when booking: no microwave in the room and there was just a shower (no tub) I’m sure the room description was clear about that but I didn’t make the booking so didn’t realize until arriving The staff were super friendly to me and my little kids, great parking and the pool added some fun for the kids

Kristen Kirksey

I had an excellent stay at Aloft Check in was fast The room was spacious and very clean

Decor is fun Less than 5 minutes to SFO Though I did not utilize the airport shuttle I saw it operating throughout the day and night The best part of my stay was enjoying the amenities, including games, couches, bar, and cafe in the inviting lobby space Pool and outdoor space were great too Right across the street from park where you can watch planes take off and land This is a great choice if you are traveling with kids like I was I will 100% stay again

This place is honestly a hidden gem The staff was very courteous and professional and I loved that they kept me updated with emails and texts before and during my stay The lobby is adorable and has free coffee, tea, and hot cocoa available 24/7

They have a very reasonably priced happy hour as well as cork screws available in the room if you’d rather pop over across the street to the grocery store and buy your own wineI stayed in the 2 queen bed deluxe room and it was wonderful! The beds are firm which I loved and the room was spacious and exceptionally clean The personal balcony with privacy curtains is awesome and I would’ve definitely taken advantage of that if I wasn’t staying in the middle of JanuaryYou have standard hotel noise and some rumblings from the train but nothing that kept us up at night and nothing that some ear plugs couldn’t fix The location to public transportation and downtown Millbrae is superb

Mel Litts

Clean room and polite staff Felt like a safe environment Airport “shuttle” is just the regular public bus, but the stop is quite close

Just bring cash for that Breakfast wasn’t free at all and only fruit as option for vegan, stopped at Peter’s Cafe very short walk for something more filling Overall good hotel for a great price in SF

miranda baggett

We stayed on the second floor, the room was very clean, staff was friendly and helpful The decor was super cute, but the bed was way too soft and the pillow situation wasn’t any better either With the curtains closed shut the light was still let in immediately with the sunrise

We also got a noise complaint at 8:50pm on a Sunday, we definitely weren’t being quiet, but not obnoxiously loud enough for a complaint that early, (maybe a Karen was below us) Location is good, near the airport and Bart station

The room was so clean and spacious! I really enjoyed my time here The breakfast was good and convenient, the coffee was great too The only con is that I don’t know why they charge for parking if there is no valet or security guard watching the cars, it shouldn’t be extra to park your own car in a hotel you’re paying for

Besides that, I would definitelyyyyy stay here again

Ian M

My room had a very strong oder which smelled like harsh chemicals and grease The AC leaked water onto the kitchen floor so there was always a puddle, and one of the toilets was clogged The room itself is semi renovated (new kitchen/bathroom)

The parts that were redone were nice, but the carpet has seen better days The staff is very friendly and the rooms themselves are quite big Gym is one of the worst I’ve seen of a Marriott property (1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, free weights up to 40lb, and 1 bench) These are mostly shortcomings/neglect from corporate rather than the management of the property itself I think corporate should put some more renovation money into this property which has the potential to bump the rating (in my opinion) up to a 5

It’s too bad I can only give this place five stars They deserve at least 10 The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful

The location is outstanding Our room was directly across the street from the ocean with an outstanding view World class breakfast delivered to your room Although you can’t access the beach from directly across the street you can walk to it about a quarter of a mile away I will definitely be back!

Bonnie M.

WOW!!!! We stayed one night on our way home from San Diego to see more of the California coast We stayed in Pillar Point – BEAUTIFUL! Sliding door opens right to the ocean with an outdoor sitting area to watch the sunset The bed was ultra comfortable

If we had stayed here at the start of our trip, we likely would have just stayed here for our whole vacation The bath robes are a great extra amenity for stepping out of the air tub!

Dirk Mafey

The suites are SWEET Room names like Mavericks suite on the second floor is a stone’s throw from the water A short walk to Miramar beach bar/restaurant

patio on the beach Cypress Inn serves a nice breakfast in the lobby by the fireplace looking out on water Eggs Benedict one day and a nice scramble platter the next day the room was $400 but had ahot tub in the room which was a good size suite 4 people would be comfortable The ocean is literally at the foot of your bed

I’m absolutely shocked that this is rated as “four stars” Let’s start with the positive first, there is a shuttle to and from the airport and the people at the reception were kind and very friendly The view from the main lobby with the big windows is nice as well

However, the shuttle is extremely rickety and loud and took almost 15 minutes waiting while we saw all the other airport hotel shuttles pass by several times The closest thing I can compare it to is a shuttle in our travels to third world countries, really quite decayed The check-in was fast but we just needed a clean and comfortable spot to lay our heads for one night (we arrived at 1 am) so the room and bed was of paramount importance The decor of the entire hotel is like a slightly nicer version of an outdated Olive Garden When you arrive to the room, hoping for some refuge there is a slight musty odor and you instantly feel claustrophobic I’m 5,3 and can touch the ceilings Enough said Perhaps the biggest let down was the bed It was so very hard, like a summer camp cot I recall turning on my side and losing feeling in my arm because it was so hard, not good for side sleepers or any kind of sleeper for that matter My husband also pointed out the STAINS on the side of the bed, God only knows from what Disgusting and unhygienic The conditioner and shampoo in the bathrooms were attached to the wall, and the conditioner bottle was EMPTY And there was absolutely no body lotion to be found, no toiletries of any kind except a bar of soap Then, when I went to go call the front desk to request said conditioner, the phone was BROKEN so we had to call Marriott corporate and wait 7 minutes for someone to direct our call to the proper person Lastly, I was hoping that the breakfast included would be their saving grace and for the most part it was fine but I asked for a sunny side up egg and most of it was uncooked and not edibleOverall, I would not return and would highly advise Marriott to stop deceiving their customers into believing this is anything remotely related to a luxury 4-star hotel

Yvette Nameth

Update: after this review I managed to get in touch with hotel staff They were nice enough to switch my room quickly and the new room is smell free and fine Staff was exceptional when I was able to talk to them

Original: I just checked in Front desk was friendly My non-smoking room smells like cigar and air freshener Ive tried to call the front desk 4x to ask for a different room Calls 1-3 rang 10-15 times and I hung up Call 4 rang 40+ times with no answer Never again will I stay here Short staffed doesn’t mean don’t answer phones of paying guests So I’m in a nasty room

Josh Montero

As far as airport hotels go, the Marriott is a really nice one The rooms are well appointed and comfortable and there is a large open space on the ground floor to relax Now, nobody spends their vacation at an airport hotel, so you don’t need the amenities others do

I have flown out of SFO before the crack of dawn a couple times and just needed a place to spend the night before departure so I could get to the airport quickly (which helps because they have a free shuttle that runs 24/7) The bar is good, food isn’t bad at all for hotel dining If you’re in transit and need a place to crash after a late arrival or before an early take off, this is the spot

We hosted our wedding here with Nancy as our wedding planner and it was incredible I cannot recommend it enough They are the best wedding organizers I could have asked for!Amazing venue, kind attentive staff, and even if the weather turns there is a terrific backup plan! The guests loved the rooms

I was worried about the fog horn sound but no guests complained of itThe lofts don’t hear any fog horn sound I hear It’s subtle and there is a noise conditioner for you if needed My new husband had no problem sleeping (and we were not drunk after the wedding)If you are thinking about holding your wedding here- this is an AMAZING place with AMAZING people Nancy and Jen are queens of weddings Nancy was so attentive and accommodating Jen did my friend’s wedding here the same month and they said it was equally wonderfulThank you Nancy for your amazing skills and being there for us- Your work & vision made our wedding so wonderful!

Garrett Toy

Had our wedding here late 2021 and it was amazing! Worked mostly with Nancy and she was everything we could ask for from a planner, no need to hire your own Venue itself is great, lots of parking, food was good, everything went smoothly on their end day of As you can see from pictures, it’s at a beautiful location with lots of places you can take pictures

Would highly recommend

Grey Skold

Stayed overnight for a weddingRooms were ugly as sin (just not our taste), but in general everything worked Bed was comfy, bathroom all functioning, balcony was nice, TV was available

Navigating from the parking garage to your room in the hotel is a maze, and the room barely mitigates any noise being made from within the hotel (we could hear people leaving the elevator/chatting in the hotel promenade)I guess if you wanted to see Half Moon Bay this would be the nicest hotel to stay at (it was perfect for the wedding), but personally we found that the price was beyond what the say was worth

Quiet, right off the 101fwy, and great rooms The check in process was extremely easy The room was well cleaned, and well kept

Little scratches here and there, but overall well kept Room came with full kitchen, stove, cooking utensils, cups, mugs, pans, full size fridge, microwave, and dishwasher Small living room but comfy, king size bed and 2 TV The only reason gave it a 4 is, according to front office staff (who I suspect were the owners) the don’t control the AC system in there own hotel So my room was in high 80’s I called the front end so they can tell me how to lower the temp, and the answer I got was sorry we don’t know and have no control over the AC Which i found hard to believe

Jigar Agrawal

It is not as beautiful as they have portrayed in the picture There are some pros But the cons are many more and most people won’t let them go while considering an expensive stay

Cons:The staff is quite unresponsive I felt like they do not even care This could be personal though, but they have not delivered toiletries even though I requested them this morning The rooms are not quite clean Some kind of sticky thing on tables Looks are frozen puke! The bathroom door doesn’t lock Breakfast is very poor They just have some eggs, juice, bagels, 1 type of fruit, coffee, and some juice I was expecting more variety of fruits and yogurt and everything No elevator The furniture is very old and looks cheapPros:The bedroom was nice and comfyI would have given half star if available

Ashley Marie

Wonderful local hotel with all the comforts of a well kept home Ruby and DJ at the front desk were both very helpful and always attentive to whatever questions I had or help I needed The Hyatt Homes come with a basketball court, swimming pool, bbq area next to a fire pit all surrounded by a lovely pond with walking trails

The full breakfast included with your stay was full of a variety of foods and snacks to eat there or take with you for exploring the area

Great hotel, especially for Airline Commuting personnel Has a decent restaurant, however, only open for breakfast and dinner, not lunch There is a nice Diner next door, with primarily Asian food, or sandwiches for inexpensive dining in or takeaway

Hotel Staff are always accommodating If you have any issues during your stay, the staff respond immediately No 30 minute wait at this place to get something addressed! They are on it, right away! Convenient 30 minute shuttle 24 hrs to/from airport No laundromat, unfortunately Many hotels offer free or inexpensive washer/dryer accommodations, and I would love it if this hotel also offered, however, it is not offered

Erika Solomon

I hosted a family reunion here The space was great for all our events and space where we just hung out was comfortable and great The hotel staff were wonderful and friendly, bartender made good drinks

Rizsa in events was phenomenal! She was very responsive and helpful in planning throughout the year She worked with and accommodated all my needs related to my room block at a great room rate, staying within our determined budget, food selections by dietary needs, and meeting room set-up If she wasn’t available, other event staff were assets and assisted if needed I highly recommend this hotel for an event It is close to the airport and there it is across the street from the Bay that has a beautiful view and a place to walk along leisurely or for exercise

Denise Keefe

The airport shuttle was on time and comfortable The check in desk attendant was very positive and accommodating The hotel is comfortable and a great location in proximity to easy access to the airport and running paths

The room was clean and quiet The complimentary coffee in the lobby with large cups were greatly appreciated as was the delicious cookie on arrival I am making my next reservation here at the Doubletree, so I will be back this weekend

Nicole at Front Desk was very courteous and welcoming I checked in after midnight, and our airport shuttle unloaded about six room room accommodations She was alone and handled the situation efficiently and gave individual attention

Her demeanor invited our appreciation and humor at the situationI’m happy the breakfast buffet is back The staff serviced the full cafe, bar and extra-seating area gracefully and effectively

Daniel Wicker

Outstanding hospitality displayed by all staff The property is very clean, restaurant has excellent tasting food The decor of the interior of the hotel is very comforting

Lots of space for all business and event meeting needsExcellent location with 24/7 shuttle service and a Bed that is perfect for a good nights sleepThe manager has done an exceptional job by the way things are ran at this property and the way the hotel looks 5/5 rating from me and I look forward to returning again!

Sarah McCanna

Our room’s linens and carpets had stains all over The remote for the TV wouldn’t work The bathtub drain was clogged so we had to shower in shin deep water and the grout was moldy

No exhaust fan in bathroom and room wouldn’t cool down even with the AC set to 66 so it was hot and muggy The alarm clock in the room went off at midnight on our first night The beds were uncomfortable and the fridge was full of freezer frost and barely kept our drinks cold This room needs some serious attention and maintenance for it to be a comfortable or pleasant place to stay The pool and hot tub were our saving gracebut then the hot tub was shut down after our first day there We were given a parking ticket that we had to get sorted out because it was their mistake Also know that AFTER you book your room, you’ll get an email letting you know that parking is an extra $30 PER DAY The housekeepers were all so sweet and had great manners The front desk staff seemed as though it was an inconvenience that they had to be at work It’s rather unfortunate because this hotel has so much potential If all you’re interested in is a nice fitness area, a pretty pool and a convenient location then book a stay! If you’re looking for a clean and comfortable room, look elsewhere

Great rooms, good breakfast, Terrible front desk reception Darnell made us wait for 30 minutes s to check in I had only two choices

Not check in and get charged, or wait for Marriott website to go back online We will never go back Instead of eating hot food that we got from takeout, I am waiting for front desk to print out forms which took him three times He has NO EMPATHY at all for our familyI get that we had an outdated form, but we only were given 2 options Cancel the reservation and pay full price or hang out in the lobby with the family in the car to get an updated form I did not have the option of paying full price for the room and staying there even though I would be charged full price but not be able to stay the night On the expired form there is a code that the hotel could have verified if they had any empathy, but as you can see from the owner’s response they still do not understand what was the issue

Bridgette Kendrick

So I want to start by saying I’m a Titanium Elite member and have stayed in countless Marriotts all over the country The SpringHill Suites by Marriott Belmont Redwood Shores was the absolute worst They claim to be “pet friendly” but that’s only towards dogs not cats

I called the Elite reservation line to book a 4 night stay, 1 night with points The hotel is “pet friendly” and I made sure to tell the representative that I had a cat Everything is booked and I prepaid for the nights stay After I got off the phone I called the hotel directly and spoke with someone (I believe her name was Julia) to make sure that I had a “pet friendly” room reserved for my cat, no problem Then I drive from Washington state to California I start checking in and for some reason they’re having problems with my reservation since one night is with points and the other three were prepaid Then they are getting ready to give me the pet form to fill out and I mention my cat They say we take dogs only! I tell them this has all be confirmed with the Marriott Elite reservation line and I had called the hotel myself They continue to say no cats, my cat is a 4lb Persian that has a lion haircut (mostly shaved) Then the manager Ben Lawson is called and he says “no cats in my hotel because they’re more allergenic then dogs” I have never heard of such a thing A pet friendly hotel is a pet friendly hotel You can bring cats on planes so I’m not sure what this was all about but I felt very discriminated against and it was embarrassing that I was being turned away I was so tired after my long drive and now I’m being forced to find a different hotel After staying in over a thousand nights in Marriott hotels the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Belmont Redwood Shores really disappointed

Nate Richardson

This hotel refuses to help in any way should circumstances out of your control put you in a position where you can no longer travel I came down with COVID the day I was supposed to travel The receptionist refused to allow me to alter my booking in any way

This was for required work travel and I just asked to shift the booking to a future date They offered no remedy and charged me full price I will never stay here ever, and I suggest those who read this review do the same

Really poor hotel, staff and amenities The staff are uninterested in main They do not want to provide a good customer service experience

The bar is often unmanned, the breakfast cafe was sometimes unstaffed and closed The bar menu is limited at best The rooms are not clean We had blood on the floor of the room and the concierge staff were somewhat surprised we asked for the room to be cleaned In the end they just put some towels outside the door Guests also bring their own bags in on trolleys in a 9 floor hotel The parking is charged to guests at $30 per day without any discount or free access to paying guests A terrible experience all round and would avoid at all costs if you are staying in Redwood City

On the plus side the staff are outstanding, friendly, try really hardOn the needs improvement side: property was once branded as a SofitelThat was clearly some time and some age of the premises and upkeep ago

Recently rebranded from another name to Grand Bay, the temporary signage they’ve slapped on the building looks so sketchyDespite its outstanding location in great proximity to a number of large businesses in the area, the building is very tired, in need of upgrades, very limited food services, no real amenities or services on site No laundry In the rooms themselves, definitely tired and in need of renovation Defects in the bathroom walls have been painted over repeatedly Cleaning is just so so Hairs in the bathtub which clearly were not mine No robes, no laundry service, and if your luggage is lost like mine was there’s very little that they can offer you to helpRoom service staff are extremely pleasant and responsive but the menu is very limited and the prices are out of step with the quality of the food All food comes with plastic utensils and plastic containers and delivered in plastic bags so it’s never hot by the time it gets to your room and just feels like cheap takeout At very inflated prices Food services hours are very limited Bar shuts at 10 You can’t get anything to eat all afternoon not even room service Room service ends early Not 24 hours Makes it challenging for the visitors who are coming to this area from all over North America and internationallyThe building itself has good bones and the location is fantastic right on the water with a great outdoor patio But a significant lift and investment in refurbishing the physical premises and an improving food and beverage hours and quality and adding the amenities that business travellers expect would raise the status of this property But for now it does not justify the price as it chargesAlthough this is the most convenient location when I come to the area, I won’t be staying here again unless there’s a significant refresh

Everything about our stay was outstanding The room was quiet and its design and layout were very comfortable and inviting The kitchenette was well-appointed (maybe add salt and pepper shakers?) and the continental breakfast was fresh, tasty and convenient

The heated pool was clean and the hotel’s proximity to the beach, hiking, town and restaurants was a pleasure We found the mattress a bit too soft, but variability in personal tastes makes perfection unattainable

I myself have stayed at this hotel many, many years ago in the early 2000s and had fond memories so I decided to take my wife for a weekend getaway and we stayed on a Thursday night in February, 2022The hotel itself is not bad The check-in was welcoming and we even were able to buy a bottle of champagne and water at checkin, so we could enjoy both on the patio and watch the sunset

We stayed in a large room on the third floor and enjoyed the view I would rate the view a solid 8 out of 10We went to bed around 9pm and within a few minutes, we both starred at each other and said “I can’t sleep” Needless to say, the fog horn runs 24×7 and goes off every few seconds What we didn’t notice in the evening became torture during the night We played spa music on our phone to try to mask the recurring horn sounds We closed our patio door and window which was tough at 82 degree temps in the room but nope, we could still hear itWe didn’t get much sleep unfortunately We let the hotel know at checkout but it’s not their faultWe won’t be back due to the fog horn

The Beach House was just the right place for me to rest and rejuvenate The property is well appointed and yet not stuffy Everything from the decor to the bedding suggested comfortable rest

Each morning I woke, rolled up the blinds, and took a blanket out to the patio to watch the sun rise – and again at sunset The experience brought a whole new meaning to “Be Still” The rooms are well insulated so there is no noise from other rooms Walking trails everywhere provided me with being outdoors and walking off any residue stress Morning breakfast was a bonus that I appreciated – good selections and good coffee! All of the staff were gracious and never intrusive I will be back, I promise!

I wasn’t impressed with this experienceFirst, communications were not great When I booked the hotel, I received a confirmation email, but no additional follow ups prior to the stay

Secondly, it did not give the wow factor that I expected from pictures and reviews for the price( we paid 430 for 1 night) There’s also no guaranteed parking in the front The front courtyard is not the same as the pictures, it is now all poured concrete with very little shadeBeach is about a 20 minute walk away, not ideal for elderly parents Probably won’t come again

It was just a horrible experience, We reserved Room#1 Jacuzzi room, We never got the jacuzzi to work and the tub was filthy Spider webs on wall, remote was so sticky and sweaty, Just gross, the atmosphere- just felt dirty The fence next door by the side door entrance looked like it was going to collapse

The backyard of the hotel was nice, nothing impressive They do have free wine and E&J in the lobby No breakfast on site they give you a voucher to get breakfast a few blocks away, that was an inconvenience because It took us an extra hour just to get breakfast They had construction work across the road so we got woken up both days at 7am after that there was no way to go back to sleep, they were making noise all morning The second night we couldn’t even park up front because PG&E started working right in front of the room all day There was a lot of construction going on everywhere, couldn’t relax at all Paying a 1000$ for 2 nights was a bit high for my experience, I guess we paid mostly for the location and been able to walk 5 mins to some restaurants and 20 mins to the beachI got back from Sandra a very unprofessional email after writing this review Don’t worry you didn’t try to make things right I don’t need to go back 🙂 I’m sure Any other hotels in the area would be great 🙂 I’ve read past reviews sound similar to mines Very unprofessional employees never experienced anything like this before

I specifically reserved a room with a jacuzzi tub When I arrived they tried to give me a different room, without a jacuzzi tub They didn’t even mention that the room I had reserved was not available

If I hadn’t have spoken up for myself, they would have given me the room I didn’t want and didn’t reserve and acted like nothing was wrong They could have called me They could have emailed me I got no heads-up that they were going to try to switcheroo on me until I showed up and complained I packed my bags and got babysitters and drove there for nothing They could have told me they messed up before I spent all that time and energy and changed my plans around Instead they tried to trick me Just awful Be on your guard

My family and I stay here every other month so it’s become sort of a home away from home Really happy to see the cooked to order breakfast is back Omelets and pancakes plus potatoes and sausage along with the normal American continental options

Would love to see some alternative meats offered (turkey or plant based sausage)If you can get a room with a view, it really is lovely I love the trail along the bay There are bikes for rental as wellThe pool wasn’t very clean on our last visit so that could use some regular attentionJulie at the front desk is a gem Airport shuttle is convenient

This property doesn’t want customers who can only stay one night I was traveling for business, I am a Hilton Honors member and was staying one night only as I had training nearby The hotel refused to book me for one night on a Thursday night! They gave me the run around telling me that they were fully booked

Then they finally admitted that they don’t make one night reservations Apparently that’s a hotel “policy” now Well, that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen from an Embassy Suites I’ll be taking my business to the Marriott down the street since they still value one night customers! By the way they have also changed their happy hour to 5-6:30 with only 2 drinks per customer We used to hold after training business meetings here and enjoyed the happy hour As responsible adults I think we all should be able to choose how many drinks we decide to have Very bad service from this Hilton property and I will never stay here again I know they don’t care that they’ve lost my business, but just a warning to others that if you need a one night stay you can forget it

The suite we had was great The hotel was easy to get in, and out It was also within a short distance to all the attractions that we wanted to get in this trip

The room was very clean, and a pretty good size The continental breakfast was very good The swimming pool, and the sauna seemed to be very busy, and the common areas were kept Although this property does not have a kitchen, or a full restaurant

Pros -clean rooms with great amenities Thick towels, very soap as well as a big screen TV I slept in till 10:30 it was so comfortable

Staff was accommodating in checking me in and offered me drinking waterCons Gates were on the fritz and when you called for assistance it went to a number that led to nowhere Could use better signage as to the parking lot Would recommend for future stays

This place was clean, the staff was pleasant and friendly and it was all around an excellent experience They were understaffed the day we came, however we were still blown away by everything here The view and the rooms are amazing

Beds are comfy, the restaurant was clean, everything was near perfect Wait times were a little more than usual but that’s no fault of the staff hereI thank the whole team here for making our vacation a great experience 🙂

We booked three queen suites for 5 nights each several months in advance of our trip to San Mateo, in order to accommodate each of our adult guests with his or her own bed during our family reunion and college graduationWhen I checked in, I was informed there were no suites available at the hotel, even thought my confirmed reservation showed these suites, and I had booked directly through Marriott   I was informed that the “corporate Marriott website” oversold rooms, and there was nothing that the local hotel could do to accommodate me

I was also told that no suites were available for the full extent of our stay   Instead, I was offered standard queen rooms, plus “we’ll wave your $30 parking fee”  This left us without enough beds, and without the sitting area we had counted onAfter over an hour of negotiations, we were finally assigned four standard queen rooms for the same price we were to originally pay for the three queen suites  I felt truly sorry for the young woman at the front desk, who was put in a really bad situation by Marriott management  I have frequented Marriott since 1982, and have never seen such a botched reservation  Back in the day, Marriott was known for its excellent quality  But no moreAlso, be forewarned that there is no longer any restaurant or room service options for dining  There is a small mini-mart with a very, very limited selection of prepackaged food at high prices   Thankfully, there was a Trader Joes within walking distance, but any other dining options are at least 15 miles away by car in San MateoWe are also trying to adjust to the new reality of not having hotel rooms cleaned on a daily basis  Apparently, guests now have to request that their room be cleaned, and even that is minimal at best (eg, take out the trash, remake the bed)  Dirty glasses are not replaced   And at this hotel, you can only request maid service during the week, not on weekends  From what I understand, this new cleaning policy is actually harder on the hard-working cleaning staff   I stayed at a different Marriott last December, and they seemed to do a much better job of managing the cleaning service without having to clean every dayThe best thing I can say about this Marriott is that it had a lively bar, and a decent pool, hot tub, and work out facilities  It is also convenient to  US 101 and a short drive to downtown San Mateo
