Beautiful, clean rooms Bathrooms had a barn style door that couldn’t lock, so the kids thought that was a little weird Nice clean kitchenette

Big mini fridge Pool was a good temp, could have been about 10 degrees warmer and it would have been perfect But as soon as you start swimming you warm right up Lots of restaurants nearbyWill definitely book another stay

We took our yearly summer trip to Michigan and decided to do a hotel instead of a rental and we are so happy that we did! The hotel was modern and clean, breakfast options were perfect for our family (even for myself who has celiac disease), and the entire staff is wonderful Customer Service is stellar and we would absolutely stay here again!!

1 It’s not really a Suite Slightly larger room with a curtain to separate out the sleeping couch

2 Poorly designed sliding doors Careful with kids My daughter got her finger caught -super painful3 Front desk oft was nice Came and fixed the door (temporarily)4 Overall overpriced as a suite …not with the extra money

The service provided by Matt and his front desk team is impeccable From making a reservation, checking in, and checking out

plus shipping an item I forgot in the room puts this hotel above most The location is convenient (we attended a wedding) and the accommodations are large and modest Would be ideal for a family visiting the area and just needing space to return to relax, unwind, and use the kitchenette Thank you, so much

julianay3

comfortable beds multiple ticks the pool is freezing cold and the hot tub is also very cold

not many breakfast choices room keys don’t work most of the time i had my room key “fixed” multiple times and it still is broken for half of my stay here the exercise room is just two treadmills and one elliptical not much to exercise my teammates room smelled horrid most of the lights are burnt out in the hallway my garbage from yesterday still hasn’t been taken, it’s just sitting outside of my room do not recommend this hotel in the middle of no where

An absolutely beautiful resort! The entire resort has been nicely updated The rooms are nicely appointed and clean The staff is so kind

The location is great—just a short drive to downtown Saugatuck There are also quite a few options for meals nearby (3 minutes away) if you don’t feel like driving into the downtown areaThe amenities are amazing! We used the private walking trails and the lakeside seating It was a little cool to use the pool but it is heated so other guests were using it When you hear “continental breakfast” you think cereal, pastries and coffee There were five breakfast options including a breakfast burrito and avocado toast They also have a full service coffee bar! The breakfast was amazing and you’re able to sit outside and enjoy the view of Lake MichiganThis is a very special property We only stayed 3 nights and I wish we had stayed longer We will be returning next season!

Love this Hotel!!! It’s a gem in the world! So peaceful! I love that it’s only for adults, it is managed by the owners and you can see that in every detail Breakfast is great with lots of options, you are on your own for lunch and dinner witch gives you the opportunity to experience downtown Saugatuck It would be fantastic if they had a hot-tub because some time it can get chilly at night and also hammocks in the yard…

Moriah Gilbert

Lake Shore Resort is magnificent Right on the lake, so you wake up to a gorgeous view every morning Welcoming and kind staff!! Complimentary breakfast that was delicious and can be delivered to your door

Bikes for the guests to ride Nature trail that is quiet and peaceful Kayaks, yoga, and a pool during the summertime And small ice creams available for purchase that were a delicious 9pm snack Can’t forget the beautiful sunset too!! The rooms are nice, newly remodeled, it’s an old resort, but it’s well maintained Will most likely stay here again in the future

Adam Lucas

My wife and I came for the first weekend of Tulip festival to celebrate my wife’s birthday The hotel was in great condition and the staff did a fantastic job handling the crowds (especially parking) They also had a birthday card with a small gift waiting in our room for my wife, which definitely made the stay that much more special

I highly recommend this hotel for any trip to Holland The location, great staff, and well kept facilities can’t be beat

Benoit Bauwens

This hotel is very clean, bedrooms are up to date, employees are really courteousEasy free parking in the back, and keep in mind that parking on the street is not aloud in Holland between 2:00AM and 5:00AMEV charger in front of the hotel (not a Tesla, but ok it’s there)

Stayed for 1 night and everything was perfectThe plus is the Starbucks cafe for a quick breakfastI definitely recommend this hotel

This place deserves a 5 star review for many reasons First, as other reviewers have noted, the place is beautiful, the hosts are gracious, and the food fabulous In addition, however, we were deeply appreciative of their attention to our individual needs

Specifically, my wife and I are more cautious than most, at this point, about Covid infection Masks are off, as is social distancing When we express our concern, they went out of their way to accommodate, discreetly For instance, they found other places for us to eat than the main dining area that were equally lovely In addition, we have an electric plug-in hybrid, and they found a place for us to keep it charged in an area where cars are not usually parked These accommodations may be more difficult to make once it’s high season but we really appreciated them If I had any minor suggestion, it would be helpful if there was a microwave oven guests could use to reheat coffee/tea or food in their rooms (it’s possible there is one and we didn’t see it)

My stay at this hotel was amazing! The breakfast cook Tonya was very kind and the spread was hot with options She was also part of social which they served a well put together dinner I was shocked to even be served a dinner at a hotel

My room was clean and well designed Housekeeping the next day was helpful enough to even give me fresh towels when they seen me Amber the front desk was nice and answered all questions during check in Later when we needed an extra blanket she was very helpful The pool and hot tub were both open and the area was very clean Upon check out Ashley the GM made sure to ask if we enjoyed our stay, which we did She and Amber were very helpful in breakfast suggestions as well I highly recommend staying here The new management from our previous stays has changed a lot of things for the better All of the staff seem happy and you can tell they are like a huge family

Andrea

Very clean hotel with a very friendly staff Liberty was very helpful and there to greet us at the front desk for a late check in Praise to the cleaning crew, the room was immaculate, spotless and cleaned thoroughly

The full kitchen was very convenient to have, with dishwasher and plenty of dishes All accommodations were beyond my expectations If I could give it 10 stars I would! Will be staying there again!

N-8 The Poet

I’ve been staying in hotels across the country for the last two years because of the nature of my job And I must say that Staybridge is one of my top picks They’re always clean and always willing to help guests in any way they can

They’re great staff is accompanied by their hotel’s great location Literally whatever you need that’s not at the hotel is not too far away Ashley has been attentive as well as some of the other staff members I definitely recommend booking a room at this location if you want a nice, relaxing stay!

We got married in Holland and chose this hotel for our us and our guests to stay SO extremely happy with everything! The staff went above and beyond for us and all of our guests They made our wedding weekend easy and we’re so helpful and accommodating

The beautiful patio out back was the perfect spot for us and our guests to hang out They even took photos with their own camera throughout the weekend and then surprised us with the prints when we left We will definitely will be back! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel

T

The staff was nice but the place is “under renovation” and has been for a while Bare concrete floors in lobby as of April 2022, I see reviews mention this almost a year ago, so probably staying that way Lots of clutter behind front desk

Seems to be a lot of traveling construction workers staying here, many hanging out in cars in parking lot Had to sign a “do not party” waiver, which gives you clues Our family didn’t feel safe so we went to another hotel The website photos DO NOT match reality Rooms are dated and don’t feel clean Did not feel comfortable staying here with small children

Lisa Costigan

Staff was really friendly and helpful Freshly popped popcorn was welcome after a long drive with kids that just wanted to swim Pool was loaded with diving toys, pool noodles, and balls

My kids had a blast Rooms are very clean Breakfast was better then most included hotel breakfasts with a lot of grab and go variety though we took advantage of the eggs, potatoes, sausage, and bacon Will stay here again if we end up back in the area

Me and my wife Sarah got married here and to say Chris did everything in the world to make it perfect would be an understatement From organizing our cake for us, to emailing me back at 10 pm a week before because I forgot something! Chris, and the whole staff at the Kirby were amazing The prime rib he prepared for us was perfect, and the service behind the bar was immaculate! 10/10 highly recommend for your special day, anniversary, or just nice dinner!

Laura Fewell

We had the absolute best experience at The Kirby! The managers, Chris and Courtney, along with the staff, were truly incredible They all went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay Chris and Courtney specifically were so great—professional but also so kind and laid back and made sure we had a great experience

We were sad to leave them! Our stay was perfect The whole house was beautiful and modern, with large windows and a chic charm throughout The rooms were also modern and beautiful and offered plenty of space (we were in the Martha Washington) We also had full control of the air which was great since some hotels have a set range but, we were able to make it as cool as we needed! Everything was clean and perfect Every morning we had full pots of coffee and tea waiting for us in the hall, as well as muffins and apple turnovers We drink coffee throughout the day and Chris and Courtney made sure there was coffee for us all day There was also a microwave and fridge if we needed it The full breakfast in the downstairs restaurant was delicious and fresh and we sat by the windows enjoying the sun each morning There is also a wraparound porch and a deck out back with tables and comfortable seating and we spent time outside as well In the evenings the first floor turns into a fine dining restaurant (J Paul’s) to the public The ambiance was great and we were not bothered by noise at any point We ate at J Paul’s one night and it was incredible! We also enjoyed Saugutuck and Douglas and we are planning our next trip back with another stay at The Kirby Cannot recommend it enough!

Randy Walker

We had dinner there last week after not going there for over a year It was fantastic There were a lot of things on the menu we wanted to try, so we shared everything

We shared the chorizo mushrooms, the artichoke and olive oil salad, the filet and the risotto We were really pleased with the meal and the bottle of wine that was recommended to us We will be back

Love the small hotel, owners were very kind and friendly, the dogs were very playful for dog lovers! It is tricky to find the hotel since it is hidden in the woods, but the views are worth it We loved our suite ( the anniversary) has a whirlpool which we relaxed with wine during the night We enjoyed the balcony to relax and enjoy the nature sounds, the showers are big, and I definitely loved the sink with a big mirror

We opt out of breakfast, which you can include when you book the room, but he was nice to recommend us restaurants, the house is lovely and so are the owners!

Pigeon Creek Inn is located in a beautiful and secluded forest filled with birds and squirrels The view is the most magical way to start the morning Our room (The Birthday Suite) was so perfectly designed for the comfort of the guests

Attention to every little hospitality detail was evident Jack’s breakfasts were wonderful and his knowledge of the area was very helpful as we planned what to do each day A stay at Pigeon Creek Inn will not disappoint!

My husband and I stayed here during our wedding weekend at the Sandpiper suite The room was incredibly spacious, well-decorated, and welcoming! The complimentary snacks were a great touch, and we had a one-of-a-kind view of the water from our attached sunroom! The breakfast in the morning was delicious, and the evening dessert was just as good! The kitchen was sure to note my husband’s tree nut allergy; which we were very thankful for We would recommend The Hotel Saugatuck to anyone looking for a luxury stay during their next vacation!

I stayed here for a week and it was wonderful! All the meals we had from catering were too notch, and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom is big Every staff member I interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful, they were happy to help any time with whatever you needed Definite plus is that they have a great bar too

Would definitely recommend

Kirsten McKenzie

My husband and I decided to book a small trip to Holland and decided to stay at CityFlats We both fell in love with this place for the unique rooms, but the service and location were both amazing Walking downtown to enjoy a nice dinner was a huge perk and not something you usually experience in a small town

Our room was quiet throughout the night and we enjoyed happy hour during our last night at the bar I keep recommending this place to people if they want a nice trip to MichiganThe only complaint I would have is the fitness facility didn’t have much to offer A few dumbbells and cardio machines Next trip I’ll spend my time enjoying a nice walk in the morning around downtown 🙂

Sofia F

The location was the selling point for us, but I don’t think we would stay again We had a 2 bed room and they positioned the beds back to back, facing away from each other and floating in the center of the room? This setup made the entire space feel very awkward and strangely uncomfortable As others have said, the room temp was hard to control (we went to bed cold) and the lighting was very dark

The WiFi was also very slow the day we were there (8 Mbps) The beds were very comfortable though, and as a Hilton hotel, had very nice linens Nice shower too Note: there is not a complimentary breakfast, although I suspect this may be the norm for a downtown hotel

We had the most amazing experience at the Wickwood Inn My husband and I booked it for a weekend getaway and we couldn’t have picked a better place It was our fist time staying at a B&B and wow, did the Wickwood set the bar very high! From the exquisite decor throughout the home to Jeff, the host and staff being so warm and welcoming – truly the most loveliest place to stay

And the breakfast – YUM so delicious!! Also a big highlight is the location- within walking distance to everything Highly recommend staying at the Wickwood Inn

Taylor Kuczek

My husband & I booked the Wickwood on a whim for a vacation in Saugatuck and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our first B&B experience! All staff members go out of their way to assist and make it feel like you’re at home (nothing like a hotel) The location is ideal for downtown walking and taking the Interurban and it was very quiet & quaint The social hour & breakfasts were wonderful! I wouldn’t recommend this for a family, but I HIGHLY recommend a stay for a special couple’s getaway!

Joe Rudy

This was one of the most magical places I have ever had the pleasure of visiting From being greeted by the warm and wonderful staff, to the beautiful appetizers served during happy hour, and the incredible breakfast offered in the morning, the Wickwood Inn does not disappoint! And you’ll be hard pressed to find a more exquisitely designed space, every detail is stunning and beautifully executed A true 5-star experience!

Leftover food in mini fridge Garbage bags not placed in garbage cans I had to sanitize my own toilet because it was not clean

Also, looks like there is mold on bathroom curtainI am very disappointed

MoyoPengu

Too pricey, room was alright, no apparent cleaning services The young man at the desk was extremely kind and helpful, But the old lady with glasses was stingy and annoying Breakfast was good, was an average hotel with an absurd price tag of 140$ a night

Gym was small and smelly compared to the inns nearby Pool was closed at the time

Jene’ Souder

This is my second visit to this hotel, as my father (below- Ruben Miller) mentioned, the rooms are quite small for two people As I write this, I’ve waited 35 minutes (and counting) for the night auditor to bring me a laundry bag and a pair of gloves When I called the first time, he ignored my call, probably because his Stephen King novel was more interesting that my request

The tub had a ring around it and the shower curtains are dirty You can tell this is franchise and not a corporately owned hotel, because Marriott would have none of this nonsense There is a stench of mold in the room, which explains my headache, but I’m too tired to move at this point Last time staying here…the wifi kept dropping of and the front desk never showed

This was our first visit and we were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and guests Patrick at the reception desk was helpful and professional Our King room was very clean, comfortable and modern

We normally don’t stay at Gay Resorts but after having vacationed in Douglas/Saugatuck for well over a decade we finally gave it a try and are glad we did Plenty of fun events and a nice pool and bars We gave them the highest compliment by extending our stay Well done Dunes!

We had a fantastic trip at the dunes The service was on point – and this is coming from a crew that has worked in service for a long time Housekeeping was friendly and attentive, bar service and staff were chipper and clean

Overall very impressed by management and all that work together to make this place run as smoothly as it does Huge thanks from hubby and I 🙂

I just wanted to say thanks to the Dunes for helping me once I arrived at the property and realized that I had booked the wrong kind of accommodations I was not going to be able to stay in the room that I had inadvertently booked (one of the ‘Dunes’ rooms with communal amenities), and on such short notice there was nothing else available for me, so I had to book a room at another hotel in town The staff was incredibly kind and understanding and refunded my previous payment

We will be back – with a correct booking The property is lovely – and looked like a lot of fun with a large pool, dance club and bar While it didn’t work out this time, we are looking forward to trying again
