Our first room, an ADA accessible room on the first floor, was uninhabitable due to the strong odor of sour mildew coming from the bathroom The young lady at the desk was very courteous and switched us to another room Unfortunately, our second room was filthy because it had not been cleaned from the last guest and was neglected in general, with visible dust

There were greasy fingerprints on the faucet, spots on the mirror and counter, hairs in the shower and an unmentionable surprise with the toilet My companion did not want to cause a fuss so we stayed My conclusion is our stay was maybe one step better than sleeping in the car

I had the recent opportunity to spend two nights at your establishment The first was 14JUL2022, and the second was 16JUL2022 Being a Marriot Titanium Rewards member, I was a bit surprised at the condition of the rooms I stayed in

On the first night, the bathroom had seen better days The shower curtain had dirty hand prints on it, there was an open bar of soap left in the shower, and the shampoo and conditioner bottles were previously used but set back out on the sink Also, there were only two sets of bath towels, and washcloths had seen better days All of the plumbing in the bathroom was draining very slowly The air conditioner was set to the off position, and the room took about two hours to cool down to a comfortable level I understand the need to save electricity, but one would think that when a guest signed in with the mobile app, you would make sure the room was ready when they arrived and have the air conditioning turned onOn the second night, we arrived a few hours later than anticipated, and when checking, I asked if they could upgrade me because I was a Titanium member, and the clerk was able to do so I truly appreciate that because most times, hotels cannot provide an upgradeWhen I got to my room, I noticed the door locking mechanism was folded forward, and the door was cracked open I assumed maybe the cleaning staff was still prepping the room but thought not because it was 1930, and I didn’t see a cleaning cart in the hallway I knocked and let myself in; it looked like the room had been ready for service I took a quick shower and headed out to get a meal When I returned, I started setting up my CPAP machine next to the bed and noticed a couple of tiny ants I didn’t think anything of it and crawled under the sheets Within about ten minutes, I felt something crawling on me, I turned on the lights, and I had many ants crawling over my bodyI called the front desk, and the clerk informed me she could come up with some bug spray I told her that was unacceptable and that the room was infested with ants Then she said all she had was King Spa rooms available, and I said I didn’t care but needed a new room She told me to pack my stuff and come down I turned on the rest of the lights in the suite; previously, I had only turned on the bathroom and the bedside light and noticed a pile of food crumbs on the floor below the thermostat and under the writing desk She gave me a new room and mentioned that she gave the $11900 rate for the eveningOn a positive note, the breakfast provided on both mornings was great, and the staff was polite and helpful during the check-in and out processes

Was given a room that was either a steam room before or carpets were just puddles with water Entire room felt musky The room had a cracked wall and shower was disgusting

Also drips of water If I wanted to sleep in a super 8 I would have got the same room and paid a third This was nothing like any Marriott I’ve ever stayed in The doors closing in the hallways sounded like gun shots and the lovely view of the nothing made it feel like a jail cell Thanks for the worst hotel experienceResponse to the owner: your automated response does nothing but reassure me to stay away

My wife and I planned our wedding from halfway across the country, and Lisa was a great asset in helping us understand the available hotel resources and rooms, and the mechanisms available to our guests to book rooms She also offered to personally manage the bookings if any of our guests had difficulty with the process (some where not state-side during the process, leaving them with only email to contact the hotel) Once we checked in, we felt greatly supported by Lu and Linda and the rest of the hotel staff

Our wedding was on a Saturday and Linda kept the bar open late for us (coordinated ahead of time with a definite drop dead time) helping us to feel as though she was heavily invested in tending to our needs and wants We had a few hang ups, as regularly occur with large events such weddings, and the staff rapidly provided us with great solutionsThe rooms were quite large in comparison to any of the other lodging available in town The breakfast in the morning usually entailed eggs, meat, yogurt, waffles or pancakes, oatmeal, coffee, tea, and juice Sometimes they didn’t have water at breakfast, which was a little weird, and sometimes it was an ice water jug at the bar There is some covered parking, but likely only for about 40% of the guests We had beautiful weather the whole time save one afternoon, so it was never a concern for us We used the shuttle from the airport to the hotel and a couple times to various locations out in town While the regular driver was on vacation during our stay, the stand in drivers were knowledgeable, polite, and good drivers

We stayed here for two days and were suppose to stay at another hotel closer to where our family lives Needless to say we checked out and checked right back in to this hotel, staying four nights Everyone is so accommodating and friendly

The rooms are clean and comfortable with fresh linens and extra towels The children were happy on the pull out couch/ day bed and had fun in the indoor pool We all had such a great night sleep with the down comforter and pillows The showers were refreshing with great water pressure and full bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash There is always fresh coffee and tea, cereal, breakfast bars, and oatmeal They also serve a hot breakfast till 10 We look forward to staying here again and will not stay anywhere else Thank you to all the staff who made this trip enjoyable and a special thank you to Lu who is so super wonderful, hard working, accommodating, and sweet, making our stay feel like home away from home

Heidi Sue Ross

We truly enjoyed our stay at SpringHill Suites in Roanoke! We drove up from Raleigh for the weekend, found the hotel easily, and immediately felt welcomed by the staff here Our room was clean, comfortable and well laid out, and housekeeping did a great job of taking care of our needs All of the staff was friendly and helpful, but Linda and Jeanie were true standouts in their warmth and professionalism! An unexpected bonus was the “front row seat” to the fireworks show on the evening of 7/3- we opened the window to hear everything, and we had an amazing, unobstructed view from our room on the 4th floor

We definitely plan to stay here again on future trips! Thank you to everyone at this hotel for a wonderful weekend experience!

Hotel room was clean; modern furniture & the view from our room was beautiful at night & in the morningBreakfast was good; limited options & they ran out of some options close to 9AM (which is when then close & totally fine)Great option to stay with kids as they have a pool table & the lounge area is noise friendly 😉

Brand new hotel The rooms are slightly modern is style and minimal Large shower, and everything was very clean

Breakfast was simple but done well The pool tables and TV’s were actually nice to use while waiting on other members of your party The bed was overly firm, but all and all a nice little stay, especially for the price

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!I have never met a more rude, abrasive or combative manager in my entire life I called to tell the front desk there would be a late check in, this has never been a problem at any other Hilton before Upon arrival we were told that they canceled the rooms and we could not get our rooms that were paid for at a corporate acct rate

They ended up re-booking the rooms at a full rate and charged an additional $143 for no reason I sent over a credit card authorization form earlier that day and stated the MAX they could charge my card for, it was as if that authorization form was completely ignored and they charged it for whatever they wantedI called in the morning and spoke with the manager Kathy who when I gave my name, she immediately stated ” oh we’ve had problems with your room since last night” When I told her about the extra charge she tried to gaslight me into believing it was not their problem I screenshot the charges and sent them via email and sent them to her She was unprofessional, rude, short, and all around should not be dealing with customers We were promised a late check out since we got in late and she came up to the room as we were 3 minutes past check out time and demanded we leave I have never met such an awful person in my entire life

I am a clean freak so i felt I had a duty to write about how amazing this B&B is We were warmly greeted by the owners, Chris and Jayne who have tended to everything to make this little getaway so perfect The rooms were elegant, quiet and not cluttered, the bathroom was super clean, the breakfast room was private and cozy with a fireplace and blankets

The bed (Roanoke Room) was super comfy too and being And the breakfast they prepared for us met all my expectations Jayne had a freshly baked coffee cake, fruits, vegan yoghurt for the vegan amongst us I accidentally left a clothing item, and found it neatly waiting for me at the patio A wonderful stay

I am so glad I chose this place over the hotels I was looking into Having stayed in the nicest major hotels in Roanoke a time or two, I wanted to try something off the beaten path for my recent stay (which was a solo trip to town for a footrace) This place delivered big time! Nutshell: Facilities are immaculate, rooms were all well appointed, well decorated, and clean and comfortable

The location in old Southwest is an easy 15 minute walk from the busiest part of downtown Roanoke (which, as you may have guessed, is not all that busy!) From the deck, you can enjoy a coffee or a cold one while gazing out at the Mill Mountain star perched on the North (maybe Northwest?) side of Mill Mountain The Innkeepers, Chris and Jayne, are polite, friendly and attentive, and they go the extra mile, while also being respectful of the innkeeper-guest relationship

Lovely historic house in a beautiful neighborhood very close to downtown Roanoke Lynn the host recommended a really nice bistro for dinner that was within walking distance from the inn The room was so pretty with tons of character

My only problem with the experience was that I couldn’t stay longer to enjoy the gorgeous house more! Breakfast was delicious Lynn and Jim are great with alot of personality

Gloria Diederich

We stayed in the Queen Elizabeth while we were in town for a wedding in nearby Vinton It was wonderful! Lynn and Jack were very nice and Lynn was easy and fun to talk to We helped out a bunch with the wedding, so what a relief it was to come home to such a comfortable bed

It was a king and the sheets were so soft, it was like falling asleep in a cloud The blankets made it feel so cozy, like almost a weighted blanket There was also an air conditioning/heating unit in the room It was our first bed and breakfast stay and we would definitely recommend to couples looking for a unique getaway We had a nice talk with other people staying at the inn during breakfast Very wholesome We had a key to get in when we came home late, and a key to our room There is parking on the premises If we’re ever back in the area, we’d stay again Wonderfully quaint spot After looking at a bunch of hotel options, we were very happy we chose this one

A delight that exceeded expectations: As we traveled from NYC to Charleston SC, we planned to stop for a dinner with family in Roanoke Much to our delight, we stayed at The Hotel Roanoke The overnight stay became an experience rich with historical and architectural appreciation, comfort and hospitality

From the welcome at the main entrance by the Valet Service to the Receptionist who worked to respond to our slightly early arrival (noting that we are Hilton Honor clients) – locating the room we reserved, the stay that we would talk about began The room was well appointed with everything we would need or want The view was as we requested My spouse went for a swim as I relaxed after a long drive We would eventually find our way back to the wonderfully inviting lobby – a great place to sit, relax before dinner and take in the ambiance Dinner in The Pine Room was satisfying, giving us time to visit with family over an enjoyable and fulfilling meal We ended the evening with drinks as we sat around tables off the lobby that encouraged conversations It was a delightful stay that exceeded expectations

Liz, Melissa, and Missy went above and beyond to make sure our stay was nothing less than fantastic The biggest reason we choose this hotel is because of these staff members We’ll be back again in a week or so, and we’ll be staying here for the 3rd time in the last 2 months

What an incredible experience From checking in with Markia who was having computer issues but offered water and an overwhelming number of apologies Things out of her control but I felt like she was very attentive, professional and considerate

Breakfast was yummy and had enough for me Lastly on check out I did not know if I would have time to come back because we were there for a softball tournament I left at 7am and she offered to hold the keys for me in case I could come back Just so thoughtful!

Scammers!!!!! BEWARE!!!! This by far is the worst hotel you can stay in, near the mall area!!! There are plenty of other options please use those The beds are small Full size beds for double beds

And the bathroom is a closet space And the closet space is a whole in the wall!!! The breakfast is the same thing every day!! Turkey sausage, sage plain eggs, and monkey bread Started with 2 suites and scheduled through what they call a 3rd party person from India Then when we got there we just wanted to keep one suite It went from you can cancel in the morning, to you can’t cancel at all because it was booked with the Hyatt number which they call a 3rd party!! Then when it came time to check out on Monday they said a housekeeper told them they smelled smoke in the room the night before and no one smokes in the room we asked them why no one came to our room the night it supposed to have happened and she told me I seen it on a note this morning They are scammers and desperate to make up anything to drain a dollar No housekeeper came to my room the whole weekend to check on if I needed new towels or sheets Everything I needed I had to go to the front desk to get And I couldn’t even use the phone in the hotel room to call front desk Because all the phone on the 2nd floor were disconnected That is what front desk told me This is by far more of a headache then a home away from home I will never again!!!

Nice size room and very clean The staff is super friendly too And you can’t go wrong with their free continental breakfast

My only complaint about this hotel is that the floors and walls seem to transmit sound very easily I could hear the other guests above walking across the floor and using their bathroom I could also hear the guests on either side of me; enough so that I was able to understand their conversations And believe me, I’m not a nosy kind of dude LOL I wasn’t actively trying to over-hear the other guests, I just could and it was immediately noticeable

Doug Henke

One of the best HI Expresses I’ve been too

Room was clean and quite Hotel very pet friendly Lady at the check in desk around 5:30pm 3/31/2022 gave our Buster a doggie treat

The guy at the bar was very friendly and suggested the Cuban sandwich and I got unsalted fries to share with Buster The guy working the bar in the morning at breakfast time 4/1/2022 was most pleasant and in a chipper mood Told us about the breakfast buffet and where we could sit with our dog Buster so we could have breakfast he even brought Buster a bowl so I could share eggs with him instead of feeding from my hand I wish I had gotten these mens names Would love to stay here again I think everyone went above and beyond

Jake Buchanan

If you wish you have air conditioning, power & housekeeping throughout your stay, I wouldn’t suggest here We were never brought new towels during our 4 night stay, housekeeping never came to our room & they shut the power off while our girls were getting ready for a national pageant They also advertise directv, but you really only get about 12 channels (not even local channels)

We also did not have a toilet paper holder Completely unacceptable

The hotel is Diane’s home, and it is spotless! Diane does all the cleaning herself, and she does an excellent job (better than any hotel I’ve ever stayed at) Diane is very friendly and down to earth She is 100% genuine at all times

There is something very refreshing about that Anyway, she has a little dog named Frank, who is so sweet! Diane offered recommendations on where to eat and what to do during my day She kindly let me keep my things in her space after I had checked out so they didn’t have to sit in my hot car while I hiked I really loved the little touches in my room- a bottle of water and glasses, little chocolates, and fresh toothbrushes! This was so thoughtful and worked out beautifully, as I had forgotten mine The breakfast was high quality and beautifully presented, though I would have liked some eggs or protein (it was mainly bread and fruit with a little cheese) Overall, I was happy with my stay and felt right at home Thank you Diane!

Brad Badovick

One of the best B&Bs I’ve stayed at in a long time The pictures online don’t do the property justice The renovated space was beautiful! Diane had plenty of great suggestions on where to eat and things to do in Roanoke

The breakfast alone every morning made the stay worth it Frank (the cutest dog) was the highlight of the trip for my daughter who loved to play every chance she got

Les Coambs

We had a wonderful weekend getaway at this great Boutique Hotel in the Historic Southwest District of Roanoke Dianne is a gracious host of her gloriously remodeled Victorian home Excellent, clean facility and an enchanting breakfast was served

An additional bonus was having a fun time with her pup Frank, our Nigel loved having a playmate We look forward to going back in the not too distant future

Hotel was ok Best I can say is it was a place to lay our head at night The hotel seems to have been renovated but it feels like the owner did the bare minimum updates to satisfy whatever requirements Marriott had for them

Definitely not gong above and beyond to provide a top notch customer experienceOur room was very humid So humid you could feel the water in the carpet and bedsheets Maintenance came the next day to check the AC (those old hotel window units) Everything was working fine but they felt the humidity as well and brought up a dehumidifier for the duration of our stay Not sure why central HVAC was not installed as part of the remodelCould have been worse I guess

Conveniently located just a few minutes from Roanoke Regional Airport

clean, bright property with very personable staffthey are very welcoming and accomodating! Ask for Ericashe is amazing! Being a customer service Supervisor for American Airlines and dealing with people every day, people like Erica would make me ABSOLUTELY use this hotel anytime I’m in town!

Beth Kinstler

The hotel stay was fine however the room information is incorrect Says the king room with sofa bed can sleep four, but in reality it is 3 The sofa bed is not double/full size but a twin

I asked the lady at front desk if there had been a mistake and she told me 3 fit in the king bed!!! I had to either have my son in bed with us or lay the mattress directly on the floor and have other child sleep on sofa cushions

In the hottest week of 2022 in Roanoke, our power went out due to crazy storms With all our newly bought food in jeopardy and no way to alleviate ourselves from the heat, we called and were able to get a suite with a full sized refrigerator here at the Residence Inn The room is very clean, kitchen is well stocked and it is pet friendly

The staff has been extremely kind and accommodating Crisis averted, food saved and our family is cool and happy! I would be more than happy to stay here regardless of the situation!

We stayed here overnight while en route to Georgia from PA After a stressful night and early morning, we arrived earlier than check in time and had no issues Staff was more than pleasant, sweet and attentive

Rooms and all amenities were spotless We stayed mid week so we basically had the pool and jacuzzi to ourselves I wasn’t expecting the grill or fire pit so I quickly went to Walmart nearby and was able to grill dinner instead of ordering out Beds were comfortable, sofa bed was easy to use and my kids had no complaints Breakfast was delicious and there were alot of options Check out was a breeze Would 1000% come back here

Stayed here a few years ago and it was nice Stayed in May 2022 and it’s falling apart Everything in the room was old, sofa cushion ripped, mattress completely beat, bathroom was not cleaned properly

Overall, the place is dirty and depressing What happened? Marriott properties used to be a sure thing Maybe they should get back to pre-covid conditions and start cleaning rooms EVERY day

Great hotel with fantastic views!! Make sure to get a front facing roomThe staff was very friendly and well educated on the hotel processesOur room was very clean and the beds we very comfortable

The pillows were a bit too soft for my liking but if you double them over you can get byI was a bit disappointed that the hotel bar, which is located in the spacious lobby, closed at 10pm on a weekendThere are a few restaurants nextdoor (Outback, iHop) but you still need to drive to get there safely The hotel is high up on the mountain and it has a long a somewhat narrow driveway with several curvesDefinitely will stay there again

Very medium Awesome location Yes, it is immediately adjacent to Texas Roadhouse, but you better bring a parachute or your walking shoes

No beer on draft, but there is a fairly good selection in cans and bottles Wings were good Room was okay Clean Maintenance looks a bit “do it yourself” Take away the bar/restaurant, and I would say this hotel looks more like an older Hampton Inn There is maintenance underway, so I think they are on it!

The staff went out of their way here to be personable and attentive I give them a lot of credit for patiently putting up with other customers who I witnessed having hissy fits because something wasn’t the exact way they wanted it, there were shortages, or they had to wait in a line It’s too bad some people expect everything to be perfect even though things have just recently reopened and the pandemic is still going on

Despite that, the service, the dinner, and especially the breakfast was superior! And greatly appreciated them having cold fruit-infused water at the ready in the lobby, coming off the road in 97-degree weather!

Great hotel if you are ok with losing your room while driving from out of town! My husband , dog and myself have stayed at this location a few times as it is a halfway point for our trips I made an online reservation almost a week before the stay, did the online check in where it said room was ready As we are en route to hotel after many hours of driving I get a call from the front desk worker “hi just letting you know we are overbooked you don’t have a room

” … I’m sorry what? She could have cared less, I said well that’s odd because I have had this reservation for days , and my online check in says room is ready Front desk worker said “oh yeah weird our system did something I’m not really sure but no rooms” … I said well what is then resolution here? We are literally on our way with our dog and need a place to stay, can I talk to the manager? Shockingly no manager was there, the front desk worker said she’d have the manager call me back… You guessed it no call We had to call Hilton Corporate which took around an hour with being re routed to multiple people and departments- while eventually corporate did help us to figure out a solution the whole thing was simply unacceptable At one point someone told us oh try the holiday inn down the road, WHAT! I will absolutely never book to stay at this location let alone any home 2 suites as that is so unsettling not knowing if you really do have a reservation with little to know help Maybe look into “the system “ that does the booking because I sure hope no one else has to deal with such

My partner and I stayed here over the weekend and were impressed with the staff members and their assistance We stayed in a handicap-accessible room, as it was all that was available with a king sized bed that was originally booked, and the room was equipped with a sink and refrigerator which were both perks The room was large enough for us to accommodate a pack and play for our baby, which was also helpful

Unfortunately the hotel itself has seen better days The rooms are noticeably starting to fall apart, from peeling wall paper, to half-done repairs (ex: the toilet paper holder was moved but the hole where it used to be was patched very poorly), the bathroom sink leaked when used, and during our stay 1 of the 2 elevators stopped working and slowed everyone down Neither the ice machines on the first or fourth floors worked either, which was disappointing

I stayed in a suite which was nice and large for my 2 toddlers to have room in Unfortunately the pool was closed for a bit, then the chlorine was so strong in the pool area we were forced to leave after 5min bc our eyes were burning Location is great! Hotel staff is friendly, hotel does need a lot of updating

Was not a fan of walking through people smoking to get in the side door with my children and myself having asthma and allergies It’s an adorable outside area but way too close to the entry doors
