For what it is—a two-star hotel—the Baymont Des Moines delivers on expectations and more There are numerous amenities from a heated pool and hot tub to a generous breakfast spread (the pancake machine is worth it alone) There’s also a game room and a very well appointed arcade even

The front desk staff is friendly and helpful Although the decor was dated, my room was clean and comfortable Definitely recommend, especially at this price point and convenient location to the airport

We only stayed one night but our check in with Mary was awesome she was super kind and made sure we had everything we needed so that was cool The room was clean except for a dead fly under one of our pillows but they did say the room hadn’t been used for awhile We checked out with Ashley and either she just lacks personality and friendliness or she was having a bad life but if she’s a manager you may want to rethink her position there

Everyone at this hotel use to be so kind and friendly Thank goodness Mary was working at check in because I would’ve stayed somewhere else if it had been Ashley

Great hotel Overall we had a great experience during our stay Would have liked it better if we would have received breakfast, but unfortunately it was grab and go only because their worker that handled it was out sick

The grab and go was a few granola bars, blueberry muffins and apples that were sitting at the front deskThere was an issue with the television service not working in the hotel, which we figured was because of the snow storm that was happening, but upon asking about it, the lady at the front desk promptly called her manager and maintenance and they were able to reset it to working statusWe would stay here again, clean hotel, friendly staff

There are not many hotel options in the Indianola areaUnfortunately, the room just was not clean From leftover feces in the bathroom toilet bowl to the tub being filthy… it was quite a disappointing experience

During our stay, we had to request multiple time for the bathroom tub drain to be unclogged Also, housekeeping failed to clean the room two out of the three nights we were thereIf we come back to the area, we won’t be staying here again

This is a great place to stay for a quick stop for rest and shower It was clean and the bed was comfy The only thing that could have been a little better were the towels, they were thin and scratchy

The breakfast was decent, there’s a small coffee pot in the room The location is right across from the airport (we were not bothered by the noise) and seemed like a safe area although the parking lot was a little bumpy with potholes The price is right I would recommend this location

I’m not sure where some of these people stayed The check in was rough, he couldn’t answer basic questions and had no idea what a baby bed was and finally settled on they didn’t have one to find out later they did but couldn’t find it We had to sign saying we would not smoke in the room which is no problem but we walked into the room and the smell of smoke was VERY thick

Only 5 minutes after checking in we went downstairs to let them know that someone had smoked in that room to be greeted with a very rude “YOU WERE SMOKING IN THE ROOM?” um no, we just got here How did housekeeping not notice? The toilet was clogged but we only had about 6 hours before we had to leave for the airport so we just crashed It was super noisy all night I’ve vowed never to stay at another days inn but the reviews of this one were so high we decided to try Bad call Never Ever Again!

They say they have accessible rooms but the bathroom only had one bar that is on the wall of the bathtub There are no side bar on the wall of the bathtub and there are no shower bench When having the shower on it started making a very loud squeal sound

The room was clean except for the desk The desk was sticky As we checked in I went into my room but as I went into the bathroom I could smell cigarette smoke The only good thing I have to say is the staff was nice

We enjoyed our stay here The building could use some updating & our room was not as clean as we prefer The front desk was made aware of some of the issues with our room (spots on the carpeting, splatter on the bathroom wall & the shower curtain rod leaning down to where the curtain kept opening while I was showering)

Breakfast was good I loved the banana nut waffle!

Diana Dugan

Room was fine But on check in she tried to charge me $50 more because online messed up my reservation Nothing was mentioned on the website that if you are taking the shuttle to the airport it’s an extra $5 per day for parking

That would have been fine if it was included in the price of the room But to have it spring on me upon checking in, I was not happy about it And with her attitude, I chose to pay the airline for the parking

The Holiday Inn was a pleasant experience for both me and my family The workers were very welcoming as soon as you walk into the lobby My room was clean and the view of the pool was even better

Of course, as soon as the kids in the pool area start playing it can get a little noisy but the door keeps the noise down quite a bit I took a few min to use the fitness room and was pleased with the options of different weights, but the exercise balls could use some more air and I would suggest a new mat or a set of them The hotel provides great food, snack, and drink options Definitely an amazing place to stay, would definitely recommend

The pool is tiny and unusable due to hundreds of teens for events that consumed entire pool area The pool was dirty & smelly, pics show large areas w trees ect for privacy which there were very few but as many as pictured The service was good when u could get it but hard to get due to over booked and not enuf food at breakfast had to go out to eat

Will not stay again not worth the price

Stayed 1 night great staff – smooth check-in and helpful during the stay, big property – maintained to the best of their ability, rooms decent – should highly consider rennovation due to location, breakfast not good – very dissapointing to IHG standards and other properties weve stayed, price too high but understand location Overall – decent and does the job for 1 nights stay

I purchased my room from a Hilton app After our stay we were being charged another $6 dollars I called and asked why

Was told I wasn’t charged enough so they are charging me the correct amount it should have been To me I feel once you pay from their app and that’s what was told to be paid, and you pay it it should have been final It shouldn’t be oops we goofed so your getting charged more and we aren’t letting you know This was a day after, and after the front desk gave us our room receipt of what we originally paid Then our room had used toilet paper that had one use left out of it That’s gross to me Then one of the hand towels I grabbed to use had the person who staid in there before us, snot nose green cold booger, that came off onto my hand I thought I was going to throw up!! So after that I felt like the room probably wasn’t as clean as it should have been The wall panel to the heater/ac didn’t work The queen bed was so hard my back hurt and was so stiff in the morning I didn’t sleep very well

I want to thank the Hampton Inn at DesMoines Airport! One week before my daughter’s wedding another hotel in area cancelled the promised shuttle service for our wedding guests, so we needed new accommodations Hampton Inn accommodated our wedding guests with great rooms, a group rate, and shuttled them to and from the venue! Can’t thank them enough for going the extra mile for our guests and on short notice! This Hampton Inn’s staff is top notch!

I am a Hilton honor member I have one main complaint to every Hilton location For breakfast they keep all meet, and some other items in the same container even though the container is partition but when the lid is closed the steam is mixed with other food In it

I am on a restricted diet and whenever I stay in Hilton I am unable to consume any hot breakfast from the hotel and end up eating out elsewhereThis hotel is ok Rooms are small and hotel is old as mentioned by few others If someone else uses the water the noise is too loudStaff is very friendly and welcoming though

It is a GREAT facility Quiet, clean, accessible to so many things Price was definitely worth it to have the evening dinner available as well as a full kitchenette

Wish the pillows had been better, and wish there were healthier breakfast options (I know, COVID sucks) Thanks for a great stay! It was our first at a Homewood Suites but definitely won’t be our last!

Nice hotel Reasonable rate Friendly check-in person

Good location Near several restaurants and some shoppingIf it matters to you, there is no hot tub Workout center looked nice; I didn’t use itI would stay here againReally liked that the decaf coffee gave three choices in strength I think the regular did too(I rarely give a five star as I see that as exceptional)

We had to go to a funeral in Des Moines and this is what we chose It was quite at night and it had restaurants across the street The room was very nice and the pool area was nice sized for the kido’s and adults to use at the same time

The only thing I was a little unhappy with was the breakfast the next morning Not much available at first and it was all cold I arrived about 10 minutes after my husband and brother-in -law, and they were sitting and eating a bananna and cold cereal because the eggs were ice cold A little later they had cheese omelets available which were good They also didn’t have decaf coffee available which is all I can drink It sure would have tasted good with my eggs

Terrible experience! Booked a room online, and because it was after midnight, it booked for the next day instead of that night The front desk guy when I called him refused to help, so I had to contact priceline, and they contacted the hotel, and they wouldn’t give me a refund or anything when they were supposed to help! They can keep them easily $90, I would have stayed possibly many times if they had treated me right because I stay in a hotel in that City a few nights per month! I hope they enjoy their $90 that they still wouldn’t refund today when I called and spoke with a woman at the front desk who called me a “no show!’

When we got to the hotel, no one was at the front desk and I waited 15 minutes in the lobby to check in He was off “addressing an issue” on a floor The suites are nice – except for the fact there was no hot water in the entire hotel

We couldn’t shower that night nor the next morning Ice cold Everyone was out I asked what compensation the hotel was offering to make up for this and no one followed up as promised We weren’t informed at check in and it was obviously already known by the hotel they had issues Not Impressed When you’re paying that much for a stay, I’d like to be able to assume I’ll get those little perks like warm water…

April Abbott

This hotel was our saving grace after our experience with another local hotel This hotel was clean and inviting Staff were nice and accommodating especially after hearing about the other hotel

The front desk area had lots of options if you forgot something or wanted to purchase a snack item The pool area was extremely warm the 1st day we were there but much more tolerable to the 2nd day There’s a nice patio area with grills, tables, seating and a fire that was near the pool area I would highly recommend this hotel (and did for the handful of other families that were headed to the other hotel)

Alexis Carroll

Great stay for one night in the one bedroom king suite Wish my husband and I could’ve stayed more days Was pleasantly surprised with the dishes, pot and pans that were provided

This place can make a very comfortable stay for more than a couple daysFront desk was friendly and breakfast was good 👍🏻

Took 3 calls to get them to answer the phone when trying to reserve a room The place was run down First thing I noticed when walking into our room was the floors were not vacuumed

Hair in the shower, ceiling tiles had dirty water spots from something upstairs leaking, cracks in the shower wall, missing lock on the door to our room There was a missing ceiling tile in the hall with exposed wires hanging out The pool was filthy and the floor was slimy and gross Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in weeks Oh, our remote had duct tape on the back holding the batteries in place

keith epperson

The pool was closed, we had 3 grandkids with us Clean from a distance Morning desk clerk was griping to another worker the entire time we were at breakfast

When it was mentioned we could all hear then, they didn’t care Don’t stay for the free breakfast, trust me Lastly, if you’re a light sleeper, stay in a room not facing the highway Trucks downshifting all night long If you just need a cheap room, this may be an option

We honestly couldn’t recommend Summerset Winery more!!! It was everything we dreamed of and our wedding day was so beautiful! The coordinators were friendly, flexible, and so enjoyable to work with The barn patio and tent were perfect for our wedding and fit all of our guests (250+) comfortably! The INN on the property was the ideal place for our friends and family to stay and added a “weekend retreat” feel to everything!! Summerset Winery worked super hard to give our wedding every extra touch to be so beautiful! Booking with them was the best wedding planning choice we made… I know we’ll keep coming back to visit for many years!!!

Bridget Creery

Summerset Winery has been a great place for us to make memories on more than one occasion, we also chose Summerset as our wedding venue and it was absolutely beautiful Summerset staff were very helpful throughout the process We stayed at the Inn on the property with family, which was beautiful

We would do it all over again Cannot say enough great things!
