Honestly one of the nicest family friendly hotels we’ve stayed in and conveniently located only about 15 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara We utilized the gym, pool/Jacuzzi, complimentary bikes, and mini golf course Bonus is great breakfast food at the hotel and Starbucks coffee if you can’t make it over to Dune Coffee just down the street

John Weaver

Very good hotel but it has issues The most obvious is the expense I got the best deal available and it was 340 a night

Women should notice the warning about the hotel posted about chemicals used on property can cause birth defects Restaurant was not open but the Starbucks we No safes in room although they have one available at the front desk Marriot has terrible support issues so don’t bother with their apps

We had a wonderful time here Nice vacation spot with kids It wasn’t super busy too when we went

All staff were kind, professional and always smiledThe hike trail was one of my favorites, beautiful scenic view at sunset If you can’t hike it, you can access it via parking lotEvery part of the resort was beautiful for pictures I’d recommend to bring your camera !The bistro had delicious buffet options They had fresh juices and plenty of healthy optionsThe beach was okay I wish there was beach lounge chairs, umbrellas etc There was a dead seal and lots of flies It could be maintained better ( I’m guessing it’s not a private beach) The beaches on shoreline are better maintained and better for kids if that’s something you are looking forRegarding rooms, I knocked off one star cause we had pigeon poop all over the balcony And the toilet didn’t flush properlyOverall, I wouldn’t pay $1000 a night again This was my first time staying here but honestly you are paying for the name I’ve been to other 5 star hotels but this location wasn’t worth $1000 a night

WOW The beach location of this Ritz Carlton is one of the nicest in the entire California for sure I have stayed at all of the Ritz Carlton Resorts in CA and I can say this beach location is one of a kind

It is truly gorgeous especially during sunset The sunset view itself is worth the $1500/night The room is also spacious comparing to the other locations More of a Spanish style which I miss I owned few properties in Barcelona and Madrid and visiting here last week reminded me back in Spain- We had a great time and we will be back when the weather gets warmer ;)As always, the ladies and gentlemen at the Ritz provided top-notch services

Shideh Bahmanyar

It’s a beautiful and vast resort with great views The food we had for the event we were attending were great For dinner they did multiple tables and had an amazing poke table that was my favorite! I wish I had more time to do the walk to the beach but we were on a tight schedule

Enjoyed walking through the property for our scavenger hunt activity! Sure got our steps in!

I seldom stay at a Residence Inn or a property in an industrial area, but I gotta say this place worked out great for usStaff was both very friendly but also savvy/efficient Got a bottle of wine as my market item welcome amenity

Breakfast spread was impressive compared to most “free continental” offeringsHotel is 3-4 yo and in very good repair Rooms are very clean and quietGiven the pandemic, we loved being able to play games and eat in our rooms (was visiting with my retired parents)If you plan to spend your time in Santa Barbara proper, keep in mind that it’s a solid 15-20 min drive from the propertyWas too cold to use pool or outdoor areas, but they seemed nice

Marian Grant

I had the most amazing time at this location The staff is amazing! The grounds are amazing There are BBQ pits outside if your wanting to throw something on the grill

The staff makes sure the pits are on and hot 4 1/2 foot pool and jacuzzi There’s also 5 hole punting Green While relaxing how about a game of chess? The is large so you can walk the board Friendly or highly competitive game of ping-pong Enjoy the out door patios and fire pits This is a highly recommended location if you like going to Santa Barbara and neighboring cities Enjoy the gym for a full workout! The indoor fireplace was lit the entire time we were there and the seating near the fireplace was very comfortable! Parking is plentiful

Farah Farah

The hotel is okay, nothing too special but the staff was not nice or helpfulI booked two rooms, and it took them 5 hours before they could confirm if the second room was clean up or notWe kept checking and they kept saying they will bring the second key to our first room but they never bothered to call us or bring it up

Eventually we had enough and went once again to check on it and they finally checked us inNo apology no nothing, definitely was not treated like a paying customerThis hotel is too pricey to be giving this kind of service

John Lamb

We really enjoyed our stay here, the pool area and jacuzzi were great with plenty of chairs and loungers to relax in The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything we neededWe hadn’t planned on using the grab and go breakfast but after our first day that was all we had for breakfast

There was a good range and the cakes in the fridge were really nice! Good coffee too and the kids loved the range of cereal and fresh milk in the fridgeThomas on front desk was great, breakfast and the coffee was ready nice and early, great when you’ve arrived from a completely different time zone!

Valerie M Barnes

The staff at this hotel deserve 10 stars I brought my son to school and we stayed two nights The staff make you feel welcomed and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need

The room was impeccable and the grounds were very well taken care of You can tell the staff at this hotel take great pride in where they work The bed was super comfortable and breakfast was good Coffee, oatmeal and other snacks Not to mention you can grab some waters for the day I highly recommend this hotel

Rosemarie Melkowits

I almost cancelled my reservation after reading some not so nice reviews but am sooooo glad I didn’t Is it older, yes, dated, yes as some reviews said but I can tell you the rooms were very clean the beds were extremely comfortable and the courtyard was just beautiful The pool and hot tub were perfect temperature

It was only 60 degrees during our visit and the kids were in the pool that’s how warm it was Breakfast was a grab and go type, yogurt, granola bars, wrapped banana bread and lemon cake, oatmeal, cold cereals, fruit also breakfast sandwiches that you could take back to your room to heat up The lobby coffee was probably one of the best I’ve had Joel at the desk was such a great help I can’t say enough nice things about him He somehow managed to place my daughters room close enough to ours so we could help with the kids, which made our trip even more enjoyable Victoria was also helpful All in all we had a great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone

Location and employees were great! The hotel was nice Rooms were pretty small as well as bathrooms I was happy there was a mini fridge to keep our drinks cool

Cons: no microwave, small room, small bed (cozy queen = full), small bathroom, small TV Overall we really liked our stay We stayed 1 night for our wedding We were able to get early check in and help with our bags Employees were helpful, friendly and attentive It’s valet parking for $25/ day It was convenient as parking in this area is difficult Walking distance to Starbucks, restaurants, cafes and shops! Definitely would stay again

Patrick Choe

Location is great Right at the heart of downtown SB, a walking distance away from Amtrak stationRooms were okay, TV sometimes lagged or showed statics

Service was okay, but room service was bad I ordered steak breakfast, but there wasn’t any forks, knifes or spoons Had to dig up disposable fork from trashcan I got elsewhere to eatAnd the menu had (prices may vary) warning, but actually costed 50% more than the listed price That isn’t simple variation; it’s nearly a scam Vending machine of any kind seems to be out of orderOverall, great location, but eat your meal elsewhere Get your snacks and drinks elsewhere I imagine any convenience store would serve you better

Jeremy Rice

Magical elevator takes you to cozy, clean and quiet rooms with comfortable beds, all expected facilities, and quality fixtures Our corner room looked onto Cota and State streets through the leafy shade of jacaranda trees Service from valet to check-in to housekeeping was welcoming, friendly and responsive to all our requests

A charming and convenient hotel, in keeping with Santa Barbara’s classy, small town atmosphere

This place is nice The beds are comfortable but slightly high The rooms were clean which is obviously a major plus

The rooftop area was my favorite part The pool is actually heated Bobby the front desk gentleman and both valet guys working on Sunday/Monday were very attentive I requested late checkout and they were very understanding of the situation and approved it Definitely staying here again Walking distance from pretty much anything you might need like restaurants

catalina c

I stayed here after getting married at the courthouse It was beautiful! We rented the presidential suite which was amazing! We rented about 10 rooms and also the dining hall The restaurant worked with me to hand pick my menus and they even labeled the menus with our names

We got a little loud playing music and dancing so the staff made sure to close the slider doors instead of making us stopWhat a lovely hotel And they’re pet friendly! At least they were when I stayed here We will be back soon because it’s a great place walking distance to great shopping Recommend

Oscar Diosdado Murillo

Awesome Stay! Warren and his team associates are terrific What a hotel – and amazing restaurant as well! Had the best experience from the moment I walked in, roof top fire pit and sun setting what a view almost seemed like a movie scene with The rooms are beautiful and comfortable

Thank you to everyone who made this experience so memorable Truly above and beyond service I can’t wait to return

K A

I’m not sure this is a 5 star hotel as stated Yes, its location is prime and has great views We booked this hotel for a quiet relaxing stay

But, starting off, we waited for our room to be ready Guest reception (the Hispanic lady?) was not at all friendly, almost rude Said our room was not ready and to wait and they would let us know when ready This was at 2pm Okay?!? After a whole day of travel, all we wanted to do was unwind, drop off the luggage and grab a bite to eat 3 hours later, still waiting, had to go and check in to see if the room was ready No one bothered to call us to let us know Thanks for that Got to the room, decent Nothing more then a Hilton or Marriott double Queen Hotel itself is choppy- meaning several different buildings Gym in one building, room in another The second night, the room next to us was having a party, very loud Called hotel staff to inform them of noise complaint, and nothing Party still goes on for a few hours until we had enough and had to leave our room No housekeeping Everything you need, you have to call and request, ie: extra towels, shampoo, even ice There’s not an ice machine! It’s a nice location, but with the experience we had, and the $1000 a night room, one would expect a lot more!!!!!!

Samantha Ward

Total waste of money Lovely room and decoration but the customer service is awful We checked in we were just given our room key and asked ‘do you have any questions’ we were quite surprised and didn’t know what to ask

There was no explanation of any of the amenities, where breakfast could be bought or anything At the end of the stay we paid a $35 a day resort fee- but have no idea what this was for? We had no tea/coffee supplied or anythingThe website is very misleading and the hotel is split over 3 buildings which means we had to cross a busy street to access the rooftop pool in another building Not ideal when in your swimsuit At the pool there is nowhere to buy snacks or a drink (or better, supplied) Pretty standard stuff for a nice hotel? We are British and used to a high level of service but this hotel did not live up This hotel cost the same per night to stay in the Shangri La in the Shard in London where the staff can not do enough for you and you feel a million dollarsSo disappointed by the hotel CalifornianUpdate- was promised to be updated on an ongoing request (via email) but am still waiting for a response 3 weeks later?? Have sent reminders twice which have been ignored Another example of fantastic customer service

We stayed 3 nights at this Ramada and were very pleased ALL of the staff were so friendly and helpful, every single person we encountered The room was clean and the bed was comfortable

We had a view of the lagoon which had multiple birds, turtles, and fish The pool and hot tub were clean, warm, and well kept They do offer a grab and go breakfast (we did not use) and have a freezer with some things you can purchase Our rental car plans changed and they were able to send a (free) taxi to get us at the airport within 10 minutes, and they arranged to have a taxi pick us up at the hotel and take us back to the airport when we left (free) If you stay here you will need a car or transportation plan, it is not within walking distance of anything other than a gas station and Ihop for the most part We used Uber had had good experiences with that For the price we paid (they were offering a stay 2 nights get 1 night free deal when we went) I was very pleased

megan lopez

If you like to sleep in past 8am this is not the place to stay Every time I stay here I get woken up at 8am consistently with the maids talking/laughing outside the room doors quit loudly The whole place echoes and the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything your neighbor does (I listened to my neighbor talk on the speaker phone for 3 hours from 6-9am and I could hear everything coming from the phone

) They are also doing construction and start working with Loud tools at 8 am as well No consideration for morning sleep here They have Comfortable beds, and cute patios, and they just started doing normal breakfast again so there is a plus

We stayed here in their ocean view suite It had such a nice room/patio! We enjoyed that we got complimentary glasses of wine with our stay Room service wasn’t going since it wasn’t the weekend, but we ate outside at the restaurant and the food and service was good

We enjoyed how they have games throughout the grounds (chess, checkers, croquet), how close it is to the beach and parks, and how the buildings are split up Great hotel and wonderful service by everyone!

I had a meeting with some VIPS We also had to discuss “Top Secret” details concerning a project

So I decided to arrange the meeting in my suite I had stayed at this hotel some years back when it was owned by the late actor and hotel owner Fess Parker He guest starred in the television 📺 series called “Daniel Boone” This property is rather largeso you may want to have a golf cart ride you to your buildingencase your not in the main lobby area The hotel has made some up gradesgone are cookiesthey use to give They were so delicious 😋 🍪😂 I included a few pictures Unfortunately I couldn’t include pictures of the lunch and equipment because these VIPS would not want to be included in an online review what I can say is my view of the ⛱️ beach was superb There is a poolSelf parkingThe bed 🛏️ was rather shorter but really comfy I really loved the 🚿 shower The buildingsyou must use a key card as a safety measure There is a park close by and an area off property where you can exercise In the end even though it’s no longer the Fess Parker It’s still a lovely place to spend a weekend, vacation or have a business lunch on property

Catherine Berry

We stayed here three nights for an anniversary getaway, and it was wonderful! The property is beautiful, a set of Mission-style buildings facing the ocean across a wide expanse of grass and palm trees Our room was very comfortable, and the accessibility features for my disabled partner were top notch However, the very best thing about our stay was the staff

From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, often anticipating our needs before we even asked I will definitely stay here again the next time I need some pampered relaxation time

Where do I begin? I can understand what everyone has said about not being very spacious but to be honest, what is made with the space given outshines that! Between the fireplace, very clean room, lovely decor, I felt very comfortable I did not want to leave and breakfast was delicious! From the beginning one of the staff members Alejandra was very friendly and accommodating compared to any other place I have stayed at Although a tight fit for parking, staff was able to find a space for our ridiculously big truck haha! The location of The Hideaway is very convenient and within area of restaurants and nearby the beach

I would stay here again and recommend to any friend or family member!

Carlos Izquierdo

Nice boutique hotel I have to admit initial impression was not good as I found the room to be kind of small, but it is very nicely decorated, and more importantly, it was really comfortable Bed was great, AC and fridge extremely silent, and the shower was also great and very relaxing

A pity the breakfast is just grab and go (while the biscuits and bread were excellent, I found it a bit scarse) The location is not great but you have a nice walk to the beach and restaurants (10min) or better, you can drive to Arroyo Burro (5 min) which is a better beach with some waves and a great restaurant just in front of the beach In summary, a nice little hotel that I would recommend more for couples than families

Beautiful hotel, from the moment you step out of your car, to walking into the lobby where you get a slight smell of fresh flowers and wonderful decor, to stepping out the back door to view the grounds overlooking the Pacific Ocean It is all an experience The front desk staff was wonderful and very helpful

Before our arrival the concierge’s department made us a wonderful Italian dinner reservation The little car they have to drive guests around the town is so fun and cute Our children loved Scoops, the little ice cream parlor at the family pool For those looking to be kid free, they also have a beautiful and quite adult only pool Walking around the grounds at night on your way to make S’mores (provided by the front desk) you can smell the fragrant, Angel’s trumpets which bloom at night The bed linens were so soft and comfortable, so much so, I plan to buy a set for our house It is all around a beautiful resort

Super kid friendly, kids love the pool, the beach, the scoop shop, and they give you little gifts for them during your stay They especially love the train that comes through! Incredible staff, so friendly…perfect location, great cocktails and food! Last stay they had a really fun live Bruno Mars cover band at the bar with dancing Awesome for a family vacation

Mariella Tzoncheva

Giving them two stars for location of the hotel and ambiance One star for the staff at the patio, great service The food is mediocre at best, the drinks were just so so

After lunch we went to the pool and tried the gelato, tasted worse than any grocery store ice cream One flavor was better than the other but I tried to talk to the lady behind the counter about the quality she stuck a spoon with ice cream in her mouth and said “it tastes fine to me”! I normally wouldn’t say anything because the atmosphere was great however paying that kind of money I tend to expect the best quality food,

This was the most overpriced room I have booked in my 50+ years of travel The Palihouse receptionist was empathetic enough to issue a $3927 credit against the $718

73 total charge for the night, about double the cost the room should have been billed The tiny room was decoratively painted, which is the only other positive attribute I can site There was no formal clothes closet, so we left our bags packed The mini one-person dressing area was separated from the toilet by a pocket-door and had but a single small wash basin Palihouse, Santa Barbara, is strikingly over-priced and not advisable for the claustrophobic guest

Charming hotel with good vibes Dynamic and super friendly staff Our room was spacious and nicely furnished, with a fireplace, deep soak tub and shower, and a private enclosed patio

Cool appliances too: Marshall speaker, Smeg fridge, Nespresso machine, etc The bed wasn’t good though The pool was kind of sad, relatively small, and neither very warm nor very clean The restaurant in the premises was average Dog friendly hotel (with one time cleaning fee) Free bicycles to borrow and visit the city In summary, great potential but finishing touches are lacking

Ethan Chumley

Cute hotel, generously sized rooms, convenient location in the Presidio neighborhood The decor is really well done, everything about our stay was nice, friendly staff, bed was comfy, and the room was quiet My only complaint is that the food at the hotel cafe was a bit lacking in both quality and quantity (good cocktails though), it’s walkable to other restaurants so it was easy to eat elsewhere

Would definitely stay here again!

This classy and cozy little gem is by far the very best No issue with extra pillows or towels what so ever Clean and crisp at every turn and corner

Sometimes it’s hard to find a good hotel where you can just relax, lying on a sun lounger by the pool, drinking a good Mojito, especially on a hot day Lemon Tree inn managed to surprise me, it’s an amazing place for the price, especially when comparing alternatives in Santa Barbara 20 minutes walk and you are already in the city center with a huge number of cool establishments, the restaurant in the hotel itself is also worth noting, it is really good, it reminds of the vintage atmosphere of the 90s, but what delicious food, it is even tastier with a 10% discount for guests

From controversial points, it is difficult to contact the staff, but given the busy days, it is quite difficult for them to answer everyone, but they try However, if you want to have a good time, this hotel is for you

Patty Hlinka

Front desk staff was amazing, personable and professional They worked very hard to honor my specific requests for where I wanted my room located That was so appreciated

From desk staff, waiters, gardeners, housekeeping and maintenance you cannot ask for better service and friendliness I have been staying at Lemon Tree when I come to SB from northern CA for over 25 years, it is like coming home There are great restaraunts all around and a new Starbucks about 1 1/2 blocks up from LemonTree on State that is awesome You can’t go wrong with Daily Grind and their heavenly scones Can’t wait for next trip to SB and Lemon Tree

If you want to go somewhere to be seen or people watch this place is great The views of the ocean are terrific However if you are interested in good food and service, take a pass

After we ordered our first course we finally had to catch a passing waiter as ours hadn’t returned in over 25 minutes The drink pours are incredibly small! When I asked, the server announced loudly that they were 1 ounce pours! The salad was way over dressed when I asked for very light dressing Lastly I can recognize an 8oz steak and this was not even close! We won’t be back!

Ty Warner (owner) has closed this property and refused to pay any of his 250+ employees severance of any kind! Know before you go! While I love this property I refuse to spend my hard earned money ever again at a site where a man worth 2 billion cares more about his obscene wealth than the basic needs of his workersUpdated: Warner is now facing a civil suit brought by his entire former staff of 450 employees for $6 million in unpaid severance

I have not visited a place more beautiful than Santa Barbara We enjoyed our time at the Four seasons very much The view behind the resort is the mountains and the ocean is right across the street

We stayed in one of the bungalows Very cute and comfortable Beds are a big thing for me This one was extremely comfortable The bathroom was extremely large and there was a dressing room The staff was so friendly We were greeted by everyone The maid service was detailed, my shoes were lined up, the sweater on the chair was folded, our chargers were untangled The food was amazing, although the cost was a shock for those of us coming from the Midwest We did not utilize the Tydes restaurant /club across the street but those with us said it was beautiful The only thing I would caution is to bring your own shampoo and body wash We didn’t because we were flying in and I regretted it I strongly disliked the scent of the toiletries at the resort

Overall hotel was fine Nice pool and breakfast My biggest issue is when we checked in on a Monday night they must have had several rooms available because they asked if we wanted the first or second floor

I opted for the first floor Everything was fine until the morning when they started to remodel the room right next to us promptly in the morning Lots of construction noise and there was tools and supplies outside of our room pretty much the entire morning We were planning a slow start the morning and unfortunately it wasn’t pleasant with all that noise The other minor grip was in the morning of our departure We had a very early flight and I went to the lobby to get coffee and it was empty The desk check said there wouldn’t be more until breakfast started, which was slightly disappointing, as we had to leave prior to breakfast I thought it would have been nice if he offered to make some more

This property was great for our one night stay Breakfast was excellent and the front desk staff very helpful and courteous!Bianca went above and beyond in helping us get situated after a 45 hour flight delay, car rental closed, etc etc

Then having my phone fall out of my pocket in the taxi Everything that could go wrong went wrongThe welcoming of front desk staff, the help in locating my phone (iPad app) to locate the address where my phone was and the phone call made to the taxi driver was all facilitated by the team They were wonderful and I so appreciate the help Taxi driver brought it to me when picking us up in the morningWe will definitely stay here again and highly recommend to allThank you staff!!

If you are looking for yourself or your family, reconsider there are much better hotels in the area with a friendlier morning staffI told the receptionist I needed to reserve for my family and at first, I was met with friendly customer service Everything went South from there, some staff receptionists were sarcastic and aggressive was checked out without my knowledge when attempting to rebook since I did so from my computer

I was constantly contacted by the property and there is absolutely no privacyOn the last day of the reservation, I was unable to access the room because I hadn’t “paid for it” despite them running my credit cards every day of my stay Communicated to the staff consistently about my situation and contacted all of my banksUnless you want to be stranded in Santa Barbara, stay somewhere elseThe housekeeping packed my things and I am still looking for my watch”I have 4 pending charges on 2 cards so I would appreciate it if someone could explain the situation better instead of rotating among numerous employees that do not know the circumstances, my family was in town for my birthday and this has been by far the worst experience I don’t need an explanation or passive-aggressive response, clearly, other customers have had a similar experience ^^^”

Really appealing updated motel calling itself a hotel The design is quite nice, but they’re aren’t done just yet Currently being renovated, so note that it’s under construction

Restaurant looked really nice, but it was closed, as it usually is on Monday and Tuesdays sadlyTried to get an espresso as we were checking out Wednesday morning, but they closed 5 mins before at 10:30Nice but missed the markWish o could do 2 and a half stars

This is a nice little hotel with competitive prices, good service, free parking and is very dog friendly The grounds were well kept, the pool was large and heated, and there was a small area where dogs could relieve themselves The room was comfortable enough but was beginning to show its age

The bed did not have a box spring so it was a bit firm, and the down pillows needed to be doubled-up to provide adequate support Shower pressure was good My only complaint was that the happy hour menu items were a bit pricey for the quantity Plan on ordering two of each item! The ambience in their outdoor dining patio was really nice

Christine Lauer

I’m giving one star not because I feel that this hotel is necessarily a one star hotel in general quality, but I paid over 550$ a night to stay here for memorial day weekend with my family and they market this hotel as a classy boutique hotel The biggest problem we had was that on Sunday night, the hotel (on a relatively small property) without any warning hosted a sorority formal, and was PACKED with college kids running around being mildly loud and disruptive to a property with kids and families in bed They played music for hours past when they said they would, loud enough to feel bass thumping while laying in bed

The teenager at the front desk kept telling she thought it would turn off soon! At which point we asked a refund for our night It is kind of cute, but it is a motel that got a kind of lackluster makeover, its lobby is very cute, and I will say the restaurant is good, but the place runs like a motel! They advertise housekeeping which we couldn’t seem to get them to provide, everyone who worked there seemed 19 years old and lacked experience in service industry The rooms are very small and don’t include many amenities, and our shower drain was clogged when we arrived, so the first one of us to take a shower was standing in 4 inches of shower water by the end of their shower, and the next person in line had to stand in the last person’s shower water left over Overall the nice things about this place were so far overshadowed by the absurd price you pay for a motel about 15-20 minutes outside of SB The advertising of the place is a little deceptive, it is basically a motel with lipstick on Don’t be fooled 😐
