Reunion turn out great 2 Nice outdoor spaces Pool was nice, had towels at the pool

Was a busy pool Breakfast was good Rooms were extra nice Had a conference room for the weekend We used it all the time All the staff was very accommodating Watch the parking If you don’t have a pass visible in your car, you might get towed I will go again

Ramon Fierros

Christa (Front Desk Attendant) and Chase (Manager) are friendly, professional, and competent Location is excellent Hotel pool and basketball court are very nice

Constructive FeedbackRooms need these improvements:1 Replace the AC units (end of life)2 Install a shower door to prevent water from the shower spraying to the bathroom floor3 Shower floors are slippery Potential for people slipping and getting hurt Provide a floor mat and install a hand rail on the inside of the shower4 Housekeeping could pay better attention to detail when it comes to cleaning the rooms In particular, trash under the extending sofa, some leftover hair in the shower, and vacuuming the cornersThese improvements will bring the hotel up to Marriott standardsHope this helps

M W

The location of the hotel is great, but that is the only positive I can giveThe room I stayed in was pretty gross, there were hairs in the bathroom shower and floor from previous guest, there were crumbs on the floor as if a vacuum was never used, and the walls/doors were truly filthy – they all had dirty splash marks, just overall very dirty You would think that for the ridiculous amount they charged the room could have been cleaner

The breakfast was also blah When I checked out I told the person at the front desk about my experience, he was apologetic and polite but that was about itI had stayed at this Marriott several years ago and my experience back then was much different which is why I chose to stay again, but that will be the last time I give this hotel my business You can do better Marriott!!!

I was very underwhelmed by the Fontaine I had hoped it would live up to its “4-star” reputation but it’s way overpriced and needs more updating and maintenanceAn issue I had was that they advertise the prices to appear really low on Google

I was seeing in generic searches $112 a night That is absolutely not going to be the case We recently stayed 2 nights in a basic room and ended up paying $630 (including parking)As others have said, for the price, I would’ve expected more amenities They did have a rooftop bar which was nice, but the rooftop pool is really tiny No spa, very limited dining options, no robes in the rooms, etcThe lobby is nice and the shared facilities look the best But the individual rooms themselves need TLC Chipped paint, scuffs, rusty metal items…again just not what I expected for the star rating and costI don’t mind paying for excellence, but I wouldn’t stay again unless the rate was substantially decreased The value just wasn’t there for me

Ashley Lardino

You are only paying for the convenience of the location The lobby is beautiful and gives the illusion that you are staying at a very high end hotel The staff was very friendly

However, the room is very very basic And as in other reviews, our room was dirty The fridge had not been cleaned and had what looked like chocolate milk all over the inside It was dusty and the floors were dirtyThe only “luxury” was the walk in shower with the rainfall shower headThe rooftop pool was so small and the whole area was cramped It was hard to move around and uncomfortableI would not recommend this hotel if you are wanting a getaway for a special occasion Incredibly over priced for such an under whelming experience

Today, I planned a surprise reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday which is not for couple more days I’ve been in contact with Micheal Wallace in preparing for that day He has been kind and quick to respond to All (yes there were multiple interactions) my emails

The Fontaine hotel is mine and my boyfriend’s favorite stay-cation spot We have chosen to stay there 4 times now because of it cleanliness and beautiful rooms They also have an amazing rooftop pool and restaurant/bar The location is incredible since it is close to multiple restaurants and store at the plaza The parking is easy to find in the parking garage which has access to the hotel through an elevator Anyways, the customer service that I’ve receiving from Micheal in just planning this special night has been exceptional I just want to give a BIG THANK YOU to him for everything he has done

This is a historical landmark, which adds to the charm of this beautiful prohibition era hotel The rooms are a nice size If you like to have a drink I definitely recommend the speakeasy which is hidden behind the front desk wall

You enter through a hidden door downstairs in the basement The bar lounge is beautiful though and has a decent amount of nicely appointed seating My only issue with this hotel sometimes is the front desk staff doesn’t seem to be attentive to the guests’ needs It’s like they don’t want to be there If that changed, I would definitely give this place 5 stars

Kimberly J

I was a bit worried to stay here after reading some of the other reviews but was pleasantly surprised While they clearly have staffing shortages and are having to cut some corners the overall experience is pretty good The rooms and decor are unique compared to your average hotel, and if you get the bathtub room you are in for a treat

My check in experience was smooth and my room was clean enough All of the important surfaces (bed, tables/chairs, bathroom fixtures, main areas of floor) were very clean and free of stains While I would expect a 4 star hotel to be spotless, I wasn’t planning on using the space behind the chair, so I didn’t mind too much that it was dusty Some of the fixtures and furnishings were defiantly showing some wear and tear and could do with a replacement The room did have a mini fridge and microwave that were both clean, and not advertised as being includedThe AC worked well, although the room did feel a bit damp It was 100 outside and very humid, but my room was able to hang out at about 67, and I was on the 19th floor The public areas however were very hot I don’t think the halls had any working AC at all They also used an air freshener scent in the lobby area that made me wonder if the hotel was hosting an axe body spray conventionOverall I would definitely stay here again They rooms and decor are a step above your average hotel The staff is friendly and the location is great I just hope they can shine up their rooms so that they can provide a truly unbeatable experience

Shelby Purdun

I was told that when I checked in I did not have breakfast included for the people in my stay, i took the employees word and it wasn’t until the third day of my stay that I was told otherwise So not only Did I pay for two adults per day(4 days, 3 nights) but then I paid for breakfast elsewhere and all that I was offered was two well drink vouchers which I was unable to use, not because they were denied but because it was closed during my available times (Visiting for business)Also, the restaurant is quiet but the food was good

I expected an Italian menu for the breakfast once I did check it out before checking out of my room, but it was a light American style Menu online site is not up to date!! The employees at that time were attentiveThe room was nice, felt crowded for a deluxe suite because of the larger coffee tableThe shower was so uncomfortable It is a half glass door and because of that you can easily get cold while showering If the switch on the wall aaa a heat lamp/fan, mine did not work and was very dusty under the cover the water pressure was OK, but the shower head pointed to the wall so no heater, poor pressure, and got chilly super easily I did expect a better bathroom due to no pics on the siteOn the features it lists a boutique, there is NO boutiqueLobby was clean and always immaculate, I just wish that the rooms/service was up to par An area for improvementThe historical features of the hotel were a nice touchOverall I rate this a 2/5 because the price is average per night here and it’s possible I could’ve stayed elsewhere and had a better experience

First hotel review I’ve ever written but feel compelled to after my stay here From start to finish the hotel exceeded my expectations of hotel hospitality The accommodating staff at the front desk were above and beyond staff at way overpriced “luxury” hotels

The lobby and rooftop bars were perfect and the room was exceptional Great shower pressure and an A/c that got down to 62 (I’m from Texas, I need cold air) Would recommend to anyone wanting a fabulous one off hotel

Benjamin S

This is truly the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and I stay in hotels about 30 nights a year I came across this place by accident…My flight out of MCI was cancelled, and so I had to quickly find another hotel on a Friday night I was truly blown away

The decor, the cleanliness and the staff, truly out of this world Half the money of many 4-star hotels, and I can’t say enough good things about this place I’m highly critical when it comes to accommodations, and there’s nothing about this room that could of been better Every last detail cared for, from the clean vents, to the freshly rolled bath mat and everything in between Just…wowI will tell you however, the noise level is intense Because it is such an amazing place, everyone under 30 wants to be there, and drinks…a lot So, it was difficult to get to sleep, and there were plenty of undesirables late in the evening outside and around the entrance, but hardly anything the hotel could do about thatI will absolutely stay here each time I return, and I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to stay at Marriott hotels in other cities, now that I’ve stayed here If you’re on business however, do be aware that it’s extremely noisy

Maria Loraina A

One of the coolest hotels we have ever stayed at Love the modern industrial grand loft style design and decorGREAT staff, excellent customer service, beautiful suites (highly recommend Vault suite) rooftop bar has gorgeous view’s

Fine dining on site great time to dress up and enjoy! Joslyn, the hostess is awesome unforgettable person and the manager that runs the restaurant is outstanding We had a wonderful time but if you are looking for a “quiet hotel” this is not for you, high energy party environment

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any stay This site will compare hundreds of hotel sites and usually will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the most well known in the area

I’ve been coming here for a long time If you stay for a few days you for sure won’t be let downGreat hotel and I had an excellent view of Main Street Staff was friendly and helpful Breakfast was decent I wish their restaurant would have been open the advertisement in the elevator looked delicious I will definitely stay here again but make better plans around the different restaurants reservations around the city

Matthew Brown

If you want a room that isn’t clean, and housekeeping knocking frantically at your door that has a do not disturb tag on it (at 11am with 12pm check out) then this is the place for you It’s in a great location, I stayed on the 11th floor and it was quiet which I appreciated, the air conditioning was great as was the water pressure A stay that was so close to excellent – was let down by poor, rude house keeping, who clearly wanted to rush patrons to get out so they could get out

The restaurant at this hotel is absolutely excellent and highly recommended I’ll review that directly

Cullen DeSantis

The hotel is nicely located, but very dated as far as rooms go for the price point Not sure if valet is a service they offer or not, but it wasn’t available on any of the 4 trips to this location They offer a restaurant onsite, but outside of grabbing a drink, save your time

There is a Starbucks located off of the lobby, which is super convenient in the mornings They offer the digital key, but I have had issues with it or the door handle itself on two of my visits Again, I would simply just chalk this up to age of the rooms and a potential area of improvement needed sooner, rather than laterThe staff seems to either be new or just not overly personable, as they aren’t too accommodating to returning guests I might assume this to be the culture, as one of the owner/operators is never friendly and rather berating to his front desk staff in public

This hotel is beautiful, its staff friendly, and its location great I’ve stayed here twice now and plan to stay again as often as I can The rooms have a classic look and are immaculately clean

The building has an old soulful feel to itDuring my most recent stay, I presented a tax exemption document to the front desk at checkout time No hotel likes dealing with these, but Charlotte was patient and thorough in seeing it through, multitasking by helping other guests while she adjusted my bill I could not be more pleased with my experience

The hotel has a nice location close to the uptown theater and the action on the plaza within walking distance The front desk staff is helpful and very nice The room itself has wear and tear, but out king room came with a nice sofa and table

Parking isn’t super easy because it’s a garage with separate elevator access, but it was fine

Thomas

Wants to be a 4 star, but not there $2800 Valet under staffed when we got there and the rest of the weekend

Had 350 guests for a wedding, shouldn’t have been a surprise Check in was okay, but not real welcoming Slow elevators, seemed like only one of four was working Ice machine on 15th floor never worked Room a/c wasn’t working until about 10:30 our first night Toilet ran every 10 minutes Bridgette was the first friendly employee we ran into Breakfast hostess was nice and breakfast was good, but overpriced Wedding reception with 350 guests had two bars with a minimum of 15 minute service wait All issues can be excused to staffing issues, and I don’t like leaving negative reviews, except I expressed concerns on the Marriott Bonvoy site and was ignored Good service goes a long waypoor service, not much

Mama Bearnath

Will stay at this hotel again! Chance at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly the views of the Plaza were amazing and I loved having coffee in my room while looking out at the fountains The shower door punched our fingers but we had to be mindful of not putting our finger on the handle while getting out of the shower I loved the detachable shower head, made it easy to wash the kiddos after a humid day!

Janessa Mckissack

We stayed a couple nights and loved the experience The only downside was that some of the dining choices located within the hotel were limited, so we didn’t get to try them all as we had hoped The rooms were clean with a nice layout and plenty of storage

The hotel had a clean smell to it that we appreciated We would definitely stay here again! Within a close drive to all sorts of food and sights to see, it was a great choice for us

YINKA DARE

The tiny smoking balconies in the hotel rooms are pretty awesome Pull out couch is not comfortable, but it is not too bad Food options are pretty poor

Could not find any food available after midnight on a Saturday night Nothing nearby outside of the resort either Casino floor is fine Strong enough police and security presence that everyone should feel safe whenever Soda vending machines did not work on at least three different floors Disappointing to not have some at least food vending machine options since everything closes so early The food options were severely lacking overall The room was nice and the king bed was comfortable The tiny smoking balcony is really the number one selling feature

Marci C

Nice place with lots of restaurants, (the buffet is closed for now due to covid, I miss the all you can eat crab night you was able to get there), fast food, drinking establishment, sports bar, even a movie theater and arcade for everyone else Hotel is clean and fresh Welcoming and warm

Definitely a place to relax Open parking and a parking garage plus valet parking If you just need a place to walk around to get exercise this is a good spot Lots of bright lights and inviting atmosphere Go see and enjoy!

I’ve been staying here for years If you decide to stay here you definitely won’t be let downMy experience attending Westin is always so great I work at the hospital near by and sick children still need me to go yo work no matter what the weather is , so when road conditions are not drivable , I stay at the Westin I get the BEST sleep of my life here , and the rain shower is so relaxin It melts away the day The pillows are perfect and the nice heavy without being TOO heavy duvet is just right The bed HOLDS you The urban bar and grill downstairs has always been too busy to get service, however I did not know until I was leaving that I could have ordered food to my room , which I wish I had known There is access to crown center shops and restaurants without going outside during open hours The waterfall and garden area near the lobby is a favorite place of mine to get family photos

We had a lovely stay here for two nights Our room was large and well appointed, and the bathroom was big and all marble, with a no- fog mirror The hotel was beautiful, very clean, tastefully done

The online check-in was quick and easy, same for checkout There was music in the bar, which was lovely, and the bartender, Robert, was delightful We really loved having a balcony and a nice view of country Club plaza, and we were close to everything The beds were really comfortable, with one firmer pillow and one that was soft and comfy The restaurant was great, and our breakfast was really nice All the hotel employees went out of their way to do whatever they could for usWe did have an issue with the A/C, since I’m always cold and we could not get it warm enough, so we just turned it off The only thing I could suggest is a towel rack in the bathroom by the vanity, that would make things easier, but overall everything was amazing We’re planning on returning, and possibly staying at the concierge level next time Beautiful hotel!

First stay here Hotel is beautiful and spotless Staff are personable and professional

Although requests weren’t spot on the first time, either wrong room or forgot something, every measure was taken to ensure requests were fulfilled Wait and cleaning staff were especially top notch with care attention you’d expect in a five star resort Salad at American Slang restaurant was perfect Rooms were above average, with robe and slippers Management seems somewhat new in the profession but adapting Overall a great great experience

LaRhonda Boone

My husband and I had an impromptu date night The room and staff were amazing I highly recommend the concierge package so you can have access to the VIP lounge

Don elevated our experience to make it an unforgettable night There were several people waiting to check in and Jacob, who was walking out the door for the night, stepped in and helped everyone get checked in quickly We cannot wait to stay again

This hotel was sufficient I’ve definitely stayed in better Marriott properties in other cities The staff were very helpful and the venue lobby was newer

There was a police officer posted in the lobby which was a first for me The hotel & area didn’t look sketchy at all but leaves me to question Why the police presence?Would stay again

Very disappointed I reserved a king room weeks before On arrival- my wife and I were greeted by a gentleman behind the checkin counter

He first asked if we wanted 2 rooms When we said 1, he said “ then you’ll want 2 queen beds I said- a king He laughed and looked away Our room was spacious and clean- much like Holiday Inn There was no microwave in our room , so we had to go down 20 floors to warm up some leftovers The 3 men behind the counter were not helpful at all When we asked where we should go , they just pointed down the hall However they were quite attentive to a fashionable man asking for waterThe experience we encountered was inexcusable One would think a Marriott would have higher expectations in its employeesWe travel quite a lot for business and pleasure Marriott will no longer be our hotel

Where to begin! We had a banquet part with my company down here We were really looking forward to staying at the hotel and enjoying ourselves at our company event However upon arrival we were told by Valet that the parking garage was full and that we should go park in a garage 2 blocks away from the hotel

Parking was suppose to be validated per company invite However there was a different garage in which Midway was suppose to park but we did not find out until 2 hours into the event We paid the $10 to park in garage 2 blocks away and then moved vehicle to the correct parking garage we were suppose to use and the next morning (after our stay at the hotel) paid another $24! The receptionist at the front desk was very rude while checking us in No smile or courteousness at all! He could not tell us were exactly the event was that we were trying to get to We had to roam around until we found it The hotel refused to validate parking even though they were the ones that had miss informed us and told us were to parkNow that was just the nightmare with parking We we arrived to our room it appeared to be cleaned Then we were to shower after the event and the bathtub has rust around the faucets and someone’s dirty rags were still hanging in the shower(Gross!)!This was my first and my last time staying at this hotel There are much better options out side of the downtown area that are much better at cleanliness and customer service!

Easily a lovable experience The room (129) was excellent! Cleaner than any I’ve stated

the bathroom and shower was outstanding That is actually the feature I enjoy most at a hotel stay and compared to the Argosy, none hold up Dual head shower, easy to operate, excellent lighting, plenty of room the only reason I didn’t rate a 5 was one particular desk person was not friendly or engaging There was no microwave or blow dryer but there was plenty of outlets for electronics!! Best room experience I’ve had in my travels and dozens of hotels!!!

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any stay This website will compare hundreds of booking web sites and normally will have rates much cheaper than others! You’re welcome :)! This hotel is one of the best in the area

I have been staying here for a very long time If you stay for a few nights you definitely won’t regret itThe Argosy is hands down my favorite Casino in Kansas City! The gaming floor is fantastic, but the hotel rooms, well they are just amazing! If you haven’t stayed here before I highly recommend doing so! You won’t be disappointed, the showers alone will have you singing the Argosy’s praises!!!

The hotel and restaurant staff are all super friendly and very accommodating The hotel room was nice, with some extras, but nothing spectacular In the traditional sense, there is no room service- just “brown bag” lunch between noon and 5 pm

If you want an actual meal, you have to go down to the concourse and wait for a table However, the food is delicious and the restaurant staff is excellent!

We loved our experience at The Truitt Hotel! The hotel is small and feels like you are staying at your best friend’s amazingly redecorated historic home We had the honor of staying in the one bedroom suite and our jaws dropped from the first moment opening the door The decor, art and style are impeccable!! The little details such as a handwritten note, local chocolates, espresso machine and snacks made us feel warm and welcome

The outdoor sitting area is SO CUTE as are the library and neon sign in the main house! The main house rooms are just as amazing! Very spacious and stylish! The only thing that made me want to get out of the super comfy bed was the thought of getting into the AMAZING shower We felt pampered and welcomed and will be returning on trips back to KC Thank you so much for creating such a gem!

Kaela Varberg

The Truitt was the perfect place for our staycation! The check-in was easy and seamless The grounds are beautiful and the main house/guest rooms are unique and inviting We really enjoyed the decor, the comfortable king bed and the nod to local KC vendors in the snack options

We stayed at the 21c Museum Hotel the second weekend in February 2022 We chose this hotel for the art, atmosphere, and the proximity to Knuckleheads Saloon, as we attended a concert that weekend as well The staff at the hotel is approachable, accommodating and very helpful

When we arrived, we were taken care of very well by Jonathan We also received a sweet, impromptu tour by ShellyThe rooms are what you would expect from this brand We needed a refrigerator, so we called the front desk, and received one right away The hospitality at this hotel is beyond their price point honestly Some more expensive hotels could really learn a few things from them They have some really great people working here The hotel is in a great neighborhood with great food choices in walking distanceIf you visit on the weekend, depending on what’s going on, you can find free parking on the street We will be back! Also, hopefully the penguins will come out of quarantine soon, but you can still take pictures with them where they stand The hotel staff also said they will have a completely new exhibit in April Very much looking forward to this

The only reason this hotel got 4 stars instead of 5 is because of noise The walls seemed pretty thin, so we heard a lot of outside noise and a quiet conversation in the hallways sounded like they were right next to us in our room Otherwise, all of the staff was very helpful, the location was perfect (near everything we wanted to do), and the hotel was clean, comfortable, and homey

Don’t forget to have your parking pass validated if you keep a vehicle on site!

Always a great stay Hotel is clean and mostly quiet A bit of inside work is going on right now

There were workers in the lobby and outside my door for most of my visit I wasn’t disturbed The bartenders were great Especially the gentleman I hate I didn’t get his name Great outside patio with fire pits Location is safe and quiet I stay here often for business

Anthony Tripp

Booked this hotel because its fairly close to downtown Nice hotel and they seem to be doing work to renovate it Was disappointed in the bed and the pillows

The mattress was very firm and the pillows were not Bed is a personal preference so my rating isn’t based on that My 3 star is because the rooms don’t block out much noise We could hear conversations next door as well as people in the hallway and this was during the night Disappointed that the pool and hot tub were down for maintenance Will probably stay again once the remodel is complete

I have been staying here for a very long time If you choose this place you for sure won’t regret itWe are here every year for the Villain Arts Tattoo Festival and I have not been disappointed in 8 straight years! The area is clean, rooms are comfortable and they meet all of your needs I can’t say enough good things about the staff, each and everyone of them The concession workers for food and the bartenders for our show were and are always polite, friendly and just awesome workers I would recommend staying here for one night or a week every year like us

The Boss Babe

This hotel is lacking in amenities It should be ranked as a 3 starThe rooms are spacious, clean, and come with a view

Staff was very helpful and friendlyRegarding the amenities and the remaining stay…It was very difficult to grab a quick drink or cocktail as there’s no clear direction on restaurant services I don’t know if anything was even open The pool is antiquated and very disappointing It is not close to the rooms The hotel provided 4 pool chairs for their guests The rest of the guests were sitting on the concrete No poolside drink or food services I would not consider this area/pool of the hotel accessible to those with physical disabilitiesThe hotel appears to be better suited for conferences, corporate stays, or maybe weddings It was not a good fit for our needs
