My wife and I spent a week at the cottages June 9th through June 16th We stayed in the Honeymoon cabin It was clean when we arrived and we loved everything about this property

The cabin is very small, but we knew that when we booked the room The property caretaker Freddy was very helpful, even suggesting a couple of attractions we might want to visit It was a great place to visit and we look forward to a return trip sometime in the near future!!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the farm This place is absolutely peaceful and beautiful Our favorite part was going horseback riding in the trails

The staff is very friendly and attentive, they know how to make guests feel comfortable The farm animals are adorable and the view of the mountain from different angles of the farm is the cherry on top I highly recommend this place and will be going back Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Alexi Moutafis

Great for kids Operates like a resort with lots of fast paced activities Beautiful location

Staff is very nice and helpful The food is incredible The place, like everywhere nowadays, is short staffed and breakfast takes an especially long time to come out There is little to no cell signal The WiFi is spotty It’s obnoxious if you have business to take care of but otherwise it’s nice to disconnect

I have been thoroughly enjoying vacations at East Hill Farm for the past 25 years This is a unique Historic Inn with additional cottages The grounds are beautifully maintained and the peace and tranquility, nestled in the foothills of Mount Monadnock is exceptional

The staff is extraordinary and go to the extra effort of making one’s stay the best experience possible What is particularly enjoyable is the access to heritage breed animals and the liberal policy of being able to bring one’s dog, although my dog is a service animal and is exempt from room deposits The meals (three full meals a day) have all been of exceptional quality and there are outdoor buffets and barbeques as well There are so many features to fully enjoy: the interesting ambience of decorating with actual 19th antiques (even my rooms at every visit were beautifully decorated, not your standard, all purpose, dull and common typical hotel room), the two pools, one heated with also a hot tub, massages available, on site laundry facilities, the wonderful gift shop stocked with unusual local handmade items, the activities provided not only for children but adults as well such as a hand felting class for adults, a class on circle dancing with a live band performing Irish and Scottish music, multiple arts and crafts projects for children: milking the goats, collecting eggs to take home, volleyball games, and so much more I treasure every moment I have been to this extraordinary place and have retained many wonderful memories over the years I will continue to return since there is no other place like this on this earth I found the overall price for a single room quite exceptionally affordable considering the fact that the fee also includes the meals I would not consider going anywhere else in New England for a nice respite from hectic modern life

Fantastic stay and this wonderful boutique hotel The general manager checked me in and was super friendly and helpful and he gave me a free upgrade to a two-level suite because of my Marriott membership status, what a wonderful room The hotel has nice touches like exposed brick and has photos of the interesting history of the location as a former department store and hardware store, etc

The hotel is not run down at all as a previous reviewer mentioned, my room was spotless and up-to-date The hotel is in great spot right on main Street with fantastic restaurants nearby and a roaster coffee shop four doors down and another marvelous organic coffee roaster on nearby Emerald Street The Fairfield inn has a good included breakfast and also is attached to a good restaurant next door Can’t wait to visit Keene again and I will definitely stay at this hotel again

UPDATED FROM 5 STAR TO 1 STAR SEE UPDATE: Quirky art deco style hotel conversion, possibly an old bank or store, in a quirky town Expect flaws

Rooms are comfortable and clean In fact fixtures, carpeting, furniture was a little on the higher end Understand this building is probably 100+ years old So if a creaky floor is what you call run down, I wouldn’t stay here If you call it charm, this is your spot Not your usual Marriott Personally thought it was fantastic UPDATE: unfortunately I spoke too soon Breakfast buffet is guarded Of course I do not know what I want, hence the reason it’s a Buffet I am presuming it is for my safety, yet there is no mask mandate at this hotel, the tables are 3 feet apart in the room they are serving breakfast, and the person guarding the breakfast is not wearing a mask Also the coffee section is not guarded I do not want to lean over the counter and try to figure out what they have for breakfast Will not be returning to this hotel

Overall, highly recommend this very nice property in lovely downtown Keene Excellent service by Michael who was super kind and professional-he not only ensured my stay was a memorable one, he loaned me a charger The suite was nice, with Keurig, two bathrooms(!) and nice decor

I did find the mattress to be a bit too firm and the air conditioning a bit too loud The bedroom can also be improved with a chair Breakfast room and choices were good

Had a great one night experience here The room was impeccably clean, huge, and had a view of the river too! There was an issue with the TV not working but Ken made his way up and took care of it within minutes Just a reboot needed but it was great having that level of customer service

They also had a sleep number bed that was perfect I’ve never slept in one and it was extremely comfortable!

Lee D.

Had a great stay here for one night due to a snowstorm we did not wish to drive through We were able to book a room the day before with no trouble The room was very spacious and had everything we needed for our nights stay

Bed was comfy enough, not a huge fan of sleep numbers, but it did the trick If we’re ever back in the area we will definitely be staying here again

Meredith Passey

My boyfriend and I were looking to go away right as summer started, but didn’t want to travel too far or spend too much Found this place on a Google search and were blown away by it’s charm, cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff The view is amazing! The room is absolutely beautiful with hardwood floors and huge clean bathroom

It was in perfect distance to all the hiking, food, and beer we did while in NH/VT I could not recommend this place more!

We ended up using the Holiday Inn Express, for our guests to our 100 person wedding We had the unfortunate situation of working with an employee who was working during their two weeks notice, which caused us to not have a written contract with the hotel chain We fortunately were able to get a discount code generated for 25 rooms

Overall, this was a pretty stressful situation, which caused many guests to not be able to get rooms with our preferred rate, after the initial 25 rooms were bookedThat being said, the staff at the front desk, and particularly Alice who is a manager for the hotels around the area, we’re very sympathetic and helpful in trying to resolve the situation I truthfully believe that if we had worked with a different individual during our initial correspondence, we would have had zero issues I would use them again in the future, but I’d be sure to have something written and signed before proceeding Our guests also had very nice stays, and were impressed both with the cleanliness and the better than expected breakfast!

Need to advise future customers Older hotel Pillows are old and stained(very yellow)As if a 100 plus sweaty heads slept on it

I mean super yellow water marks It had such an Awful smell(BO)The room had a musty-mildew smell The AC made the smell worst There is carpet underneath the bathroom sink The room needs a major renovation The lobby is the only section updated/renovated Changed hotels after a nights stay

Jae-Woo Choi

Hotel could use some improvements1 Insulation is very thin

You can hear kids running around in the hallways all day and night2 There is no hot water And it’s not clear when it will be restored Looking at other reviews, it seems to be a common occurrence

This hotel has gone seriously downhill in the past couple of years We couldn’t sleep at all (our extended family had three rooms) due to the paper thing walls and another guest who kept the TV on full blast all night, the smelly rooms, hallways, and lobby, and the dirt/grime everywhere The general manager was extremely rude to my family member who asked for their room to be cleaned again due to finding someone else’s toenail and hair in the bathroom

The Quality Inn across the parking lot is one of the hotels who took in vouchers to house homeless people in the area, and reportedly owned by the same people While some hotels played an important role in keeping homeless people (slightly) more safe during the pandemic, the obvious lack of maintenance and sanitation shows you that these hotel managers only care about a steady paycheck, not providing a comfortable environment for their guests, with or without vouchers

todd shaw

Rooms have weak floors and walls!!! Very noisy!! Also car was gone through in parking lot and laptop was stolen Area is very very sketchy with many hotel dwelling transients in area This hotel doesn’t have those people but neighboring properties do

Computer location is showing Pepsi warehouse next door I’m assuming it’s in woods Be aware !!!

The Hampton Inn could not be more accommodating so don’t believe the hype ofany bad reviews I arrived at 2 pm with my 92 yr old mother and Jolene the GM let us check in early no problem She was extremely pleasant, friendly and courteous

Even tried to find us a better room on the first floor (not available) The next day I left early to do some snowshoeing and left my mom sleeping I called at 11 am saying I would be there in an hour or so and could they please let my mom stay in the lobby with my cousin and wait? And could they please bring down the shower chair i put in the tub? “No problem sir! Your mom is right here We will make sure she is comfortable and safe” That was Diane at the front desk Also extremely pleasant and accommodating The place is clean and up to date Well worth the money Convenient safe area And reasonably priced I will definitely be staying here again Thank you Hampton Inn Brattleboro!

Awesome place, would highly recommend! We stayed here in a double queen with our two kids (4m and 4y/o) and the place was fantastic The staff was so friendly during the whole stay The room was one of the cleanest of any that I have stayed in and had enough room for a pull out bed for the 4y/o

Loved the flexibility to have breakfast in the room or dining room depending on how the kids were doing Speaking of breakfast, it was awesome Fresh baked muffins that were the best I have had every morning with some great choices At the end of the night, the room was close enough to the restaurant to go to after we had the kids down to grab a couple drinks watching the monitor

Brigid Bowser

I stayed here for a wedding in Keene and could not recommend this Inn enough Everyone working the front desk was so kind and helpful The rooms are gorgeous – ours had a small deck and fireplace

Super cozy, clean and comfortable I think they even have dog friendly rooms! We had dinner at the Inn’s restaurant – our waitress was fabulous with such helpful recommendations and vegetarian accommodations The food was amazing! This is a must for a New England weekend getaway Looking forward to returning

Robin Faulk

The Chesterfield Inn is my “go to” destination whenever I need a getaway It is an easy drive from where I live in New England and consistently provides comfortable, inviting accommodations and upscale amenities Spending time in this lovely country inn is a true stress reducer for me

Rather than staying in the main inn, I typically select one of their pet friendly guest suites even though I don’t travel with a pet These rooms feature a king bed, private outside entrance, private terrace, and gas fireplace The staff members are immensely helpful and are genuinely gracious when dealing with guests Having a restaurant on the premises is also a definite plus and both breakfast and dinner can be delivered to your room Service is impeccable and the menu specials are updated daily

We had my parents stay here for a family wedding in Keene The room was great Big, clean, comfortable, fully accessibleThe staff were amazing

Every member of the staff was friendly and helpfulHalf of the family stayed in this location and raved about the comfort and friendliness versus the sister hotel across the parking lot that was horrible, unfriendly and unaccessible (Except for the woman who attended to the breakfast She was awesome)

Max Hotkowski

Fine hotel with a great location in downtown Keene Right near the center circle, there are tons of restaurants and stores to walk to and neighborhood by a coop groceryRoom was nice and big (1 king), fridge and microwave

The limitations of room service were slightly confusing as cause some minor hectics with getting clean towels and removing trash Nothing major Laundry only had one working washing machineVery small pool, but enough for young kids to play Workout room looked smallLimited breakfast, but did not partakeVery friendly desk staffSeems like it’s a pretty busy hotel considering the convenient location and low competition

Jay Ward

We’ve been staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in Keene NH for eight years starting when our daughters were attending school further east in NH Over the years we’ve made the Courtyard a regular overnight stay with favorable experiences every time The property is well maintained and is kept clean and neat

The rooms are comfortable I like the thermostat to adjust the heating and cooling as opposed to controls on the HVAC unit that never seemed very precise The staff is always prompt, friendly and accommodating The only downside during our recent stay was the the on-site bistro wasn’t operating The bistro was always a good option for a quick meal The Monadnock Food Coop right next door is a great option for food with their expanded cafe We’ll be back again and I recommend the Courtyard in Keene

We have always loved this Orchard until yesterday We brought a group of students that have disabilities to have a picnic The owner was driving by us and stopped twice to ask us in a rude manner what we were doing

She told us there wasn’t any swimming and we needed to pick up our trash when we left Both of these comments are reasonable but the rude way they were said was unnecessary to say the least She lost the business of the six adults that were with these students

Scottie D

Great venue in a beautiful location There are mountain views all over the property The recreation hall is big and comfortable with a lot of people in it

The orchard and the lodge we stayed in are both gorgeous plots of land My whole experience was awesome I loved every minute of it! Solid 5 stars, literally no complaints Not one!

Samuel Elliott

My favorite part about Allison’s Orchard is how breathtakingly beautiful it is Definitely a pretty popular wedding venue and it is fun to go pick fresh apples or peaches etc My only issue with it happens to be the prices and overall I think the land has a lot more potential event is being used, That being said, I know it’s for sale which is exciting

Allison’s is also an incredible spot to bring to our children or to go on a date if you wanted to spend some time outdoors

Honestly a clean, comfortable hotel with great staff Check in was super smooth Only downside was they were actually still cleaning our room so we had to wait a little bit but at least I can say without a doubt my room was immaculate

The evening/night staff, super polite and friendly Every time I left or came in they were there to say hello or goodbye and offer information on the local area and food options In past experiences with hotels the night staff is very anti people for one reason or another But that definitely was not the case here The nice young gentleman, was very helpful and always keeping busy It was nice to see such good work ethic from this young man

Louise Waugh

We mostly chose this hotel because it was close when we wanted to stop driving, but very pleasantly surprised A huge step up from the least expensive, but a whole different experience Friendly, helpful desk personnel, a small snack shop NOT machines but a real person takes your money at the front desk

Roomy accommodation, very clean, plenty of towels and similar amenities Pet friendly

Pamela Williams

Lots of plusses – roomy, has a microwave and refrigerator, some nice updates in the (small) bathroom – granite countertop and lighted mirror, great shower and it’s easy to leave the tap in position to recall the temperature you choose, (the toilet paper origami was a nice touch) There’s an iron and board in the closet, luggage rack, armchair, desk and chair, lots of storage No odor in the room but caught a faint whiff of weed in the hall

Minuses include the adjoining room door doesn’t seat completely in the door frame, some minor shabbiness, and there was some trash behind the nightstand (people need to stop being slobs Pick up after yourself for Pete’s sake!) Front desk check-in was pleasant They have luggage carts and the elevator was quick Haven’t tried the free breakfast or the restaurant yet This place has a gym, a business center in the lobby, and a pool

From start to finish probably the nicest bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in The Inne is a wonderful combination of both elegance and charm Our breakfast was served on English China and sterling silver

What a wonderful way to start a day Susan and her son David were so hospitable and helpful We can’t wait to go back Thank you for making our weekend so wonderfully memorable

Sam Hong

My wife and I stayed here for three nights to see the fall foliage We really loved staying hereSusan and David (owner and son, respectively) were excellent hosts

From the booking of the stay to check out, we felt welcomed by SusanWe stayed in the Slate room with an “en suite” bathroom It is situated directly above the dining area The room was clean and the bed was comfortable The house was originally built in the late 1700s, so it experiences creaks of an old home But it was very quiet for usThe common areas of the dining, kitchen and living areas (and the patio too which we used during a warm day this time of year) were comfortable and cozy There was a Keurig coffee/tea maker available 24/7, along with a tea kettle for steeping tea if you preferDavid made us breakfast for the three days we were there Although he is not a professional chef, he made us breakfasts that are better than 90% of places we’ve eaten for breakfast in restaurants David’s breakfasts were the bestSusan was the kindest and fun owner of a B and B we have stayed with Although we have not stayed at a lot of B and Bs, we’ve been to enough Susan and David really go the extra mile by learning who you are as a person When we introduced ourselves to Susan, I use a catch phrase for people to remember our names (Sam and Patty) by saying remember the fish salmon patty Susan joked and said she only had smoked trout She mentioned this to David and the morning we had a charcuterie plate, there were lox And in another conversation, we talked about how our daughter has an apple festival for her birthday and the last morning we had apple crisp How many places can you think of where they would do something like that to make your stay even more enjoyableIf you want a fun place to stay with the best hosts possible, this is the place to stay It’s close enough to many restaurants in Keene, but far enough away for privacy We loved it here

Patty Wenzel

Susan, the innkeeper, was very sweet, accommodating, and a wonderful hostess The inn is clean, quaint, and beautifully decorated Breakfast was excellent! We would definitely return to the Bridges Inn at Whitcomb House if coming back to this area

Susan suggested other things to do while in town, which we did on her recommendation; the covered bridge tour (about an hour by car), and “Maple Weekend”; when the sugar houses allow visitors to experience the process of making maple syrup (& sample it)!
