This is the second hotel stay I’ve had in the Richmond area (previously stayed at the graduate) and for the price, I must say this is the better pick It’s a quick drive into downtown Richmond, the immediate area did not feel threatening for two woman travelers and the hotel is well maintained and cleanIt is atrium style so I will say you can hear the lobby and bar area but honestly it wasn’t too loud as to be an issue

We got the two bedroom with the pullout and it was perfect for our situation The pullout was nothing fancy but I wouldn’t say it was uncomfortable by any means The bathroom is quite small but did not pose an issue to us Having a door between the two bedrooms was perfect for privacy and both rooms were quite largeThe lobby was great and even offered a nightly snack, we didn’t partake but I believe it was things like a vegetable and meat and cheese tray Contrary to other reviews there is definitely a bar, pictured belowMy only issue and one that definitely could have been avoided with a question on my part was the deposit being the same price as the the entire stay so you’re essentially having double your funds unavailable at once Not an issue for everyone but definitely something to ask about or keep in mindThe front desk staff was very friendly and helpful although the housekeeping staff did knock multiple times one morning when we had a do not disturb sign on the doorOverall I recommend this hotel and I would stay again next time I’m in town

Leslie Theodorakakos

First I would say the front desk staff was very nice…always smiled and greeted us The breakfast was also very nice We were in town for a graduation and it was Mother’s Day weekend, so the hotel was crowded and VERY noisy on Saturday night

We went to graduation on Sunday and when we returned, our room had not been cleaned When I called the front desk for towels and coffee on Monday morning I was told that, since the start of the pandemic, rooms have not been cleaned daily because staff shortages I understand, but there are no signs in the room letting guests know The rooms are comfortable but quite outdated No bottled water was provided and only shampoo and conditioner as far as toiletries were provided The bathrooms are extremely small For the price we paid, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel nor would I stay again

tideroll55

I read several reviews and decided to stay here to see how it was Overall experience was EXCELLENT I would definitely stay here again

Jason the guy who checked us in went above and beyond They even started up the two free drinks at 530pm Indoor pool was fantastic Continental Breakfast was AMAZING Even though its a fancy hotel, I think to go plates for breakfast would be great

Room was very comfortableHowever, the bathroom door did not close There was gunk all over the bathroom fan

There was hair stopping up the shower drain that I had to remove to get the shower to drain at all (eww) No soap for the dishwasher in our room at allHardly any toilet paper left on the roll and no backup rolls in the room so I went down to get more There was no one at the desk, which I understand, they can’t be there all the time, but there was no way to contact anyone and calling the phone just rang the deskwhere there was no one All in all had to wait for 15 min for toilet paperI mean, the room was very comfy, and we had a good time on our trip, but for $200+ a night before taxI really feel the details were lacking Especially the bathroom door that wouldn’t close There’s just no way someone didn’t know about that

Dawn Ohlendorf

Stayed here unknowingly on a Friday night as I was passing through on a family trip There is a nightclub at the hotel next door and you can hear it like it’s right beside your room until they close! I am a bonvoy member and this isn’t the standard I’m used to with Marriott I called down to say something and was told the girl was the only person there – and she couldn’t do anything about it or provide points as a concession for the noise

Don’t stay here on a weekend

I asked about breakfast and she said it wasn’t complimentary, you had to pay to order One of my favorite things about going to a hotel, is the free breakfast before starting my day Te hotel is in a great location

We checked in and walked next door to have dinner at Red Robin There was also a dollar tree next door We walked to the movie theater just to get a tub of popcorn and return to hotel for movie night The kids enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi There were shampoo and conditioner in the shower which was a plus I would stay here again

I dont give 5 star reviews They must be earned This Courtyard by Marriott earned it

Every member of the staff that we interacted with was professional, friendly and very courteousThe room was very clean The bathroom was clean The bed was clean and very comfortable so that I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud and woke very well restedThe rates were very affordable Check in and check out was easy The young lady that checked us in went out of her way to be helpful but I failed to get her nameI highly recommend this Courtyard to all travelers

LetsGoBrandon

Hotel is outdated Rooms are old Wallpaper peeling off the walls

Rusty sprinkler head falling off the ceiling No hot water in the shower I told the GM about it Nice guy, but he seemed to be surprised It’s interesting to see that other people posted about the same issue though This hotel is not up to the typical Marriott standards in my opinion I’ll stay somewhere else next time

I got married here 4 years ago today and when I say it was the most wonderful experience of my life I’m not exaggerating The staff was absolutely amazing and there isn’t one detail about my wedding or reception that I would change I relive this day with my family and friends all the time and to this day I get compliments on my wedding the location how accommodating the staff was and how wonderful and clean the entire hotel was

Everyone I worked with there was extremely professional and friendly And the Fragrance the minute you walk in is amazing and it’s all over the hotel Most of my guest spent the night and enjoyed their stay My husband and I had such a marvelous experience that we went back for our first anniversary and plan to book again next year for our 5th wedding anniversary You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay a night, a weekend or make a lifetime memory! Thank you indefinitely to the Marriott Short Pump staff! I am forever grateful!

This was nastiest Marriott I have ever stayed inWhen we walked in the hotel room it was so hot the ac was on 60 in the room already set to that before we came in and it was so hot but I’m pretty sure the ac was broken in the entire building So walking into the room all the lights in there where extremely dull and dark could not get any bright light

The room smelled musty and unclean The couch in the room was tears and rips and stains all over it The towels where so old and gross that there seriously ripping in half it was like paper The wall paper was ripped and stained all over the room I felt like I was in a motel not a high end Marriott I would never ever stay here again Not up to the Marriott standards for a hotel More like a remodel that ran out of money If I did not check in at midnight I would have gone somewhere else but it was way to late and I was way to tired

Jeff Glancy

Terrible experience We had to change rooms because the bed was so bad in the first room Also we booked online with rewards points and they double charged us and also charged the card we put on file for incidentals for the nights we already paid for

We have called 10 different times and each time they acknowledged the double charge and told us we would be refunded It has now been 3 months and no refund We had to dispute the charge with our credit card company and have provided proof of the double charge and they are fighting the charge back This also happened to another couple in our group We feel like this hotel is committing fraud Do not stay here

A solid 45 stars Pros: the shower is absolutely amazing!! A rain shower waterhead with tremendous water pressure

The rooms have extra large windows for a great view The beds are super comfy and the pillows are like sleeping on a cloud Very clean hotel with complimentary shuttle and complimentary bottles water (total thumbs up on that) The true jewel at this hotel is the friendly and helpful staffCons: The a/c in my room did not work well, the bartender closed early one night and would not even allow me to get a couple of bottles of beer to go because he already settled his books for the night and parking is an additional feeOverall it was a very pleasant stay and I would highly recommend this hotel

Tracey Greene

I went here for a tax lien conference that they were having The hotel staff was exceptional When I asked for directions to where this conference was being held everyone was exceptionally friendly, and the attire of the staff very clean cut

I was very impressed with the hospitality that they showed me I had issues with the parking ticket I don’t go to hotels like this often so I ended up placing the ticket in the machine when I was supposed to just take the other ticket they gave me and scan it at the gate but anyway the young lady took care of everything and straightened it out for me I thank you for the great experience that you provided I just want to say each and every person that was at the desk was phenomenal And the doorman I really like him Very friendly individual Thank you all for the great experience maybe next time I can get a room and just kick back and relax

It has been a fine experience staying here for a couple of days during our running around Richmond The room is comfortable without feeling cramped The amenities offered are in line with some of the other brands with the Marriott family and the parking has been an added value to the stay

If you are a business traveler especially if you are doing business in the Downtown area of Richmond then the Delta Hotel should be an option for you

Great location, walkable to restaurants and stores Super cute, updated but kitschy feel to this old building The decor is super cute

Fun bar area, and the rooftop pool is perfect for lounging although you may need to fight someone for an actual lounge chair! Also I wish the walkway between the pool and rooftop car was actually usable but it was locked Rooms are cute, bathroom is absolutely tiny, as in, only one person can even fit at a time but also cute

We checked into Graduate Richmond on 8/4/22 to attend a Conference Upon checking in and arriving to the room, we knew it was not going to be the greatest experience The carpet was filthy, the shower curtain had stains and the room just looked old and dated

We cleaned the room ourselves because it appears as if housekeeping was lacking All of the furniture in the room was completely dated and it was just dusty The building appeared completely dated We figured we would be there for only 3 nights, so we attempted to make the best of it Our party had headaches after the first nights stay which leads us to 8/5/22 Our party had headaches all day long When we returned to our room the night of 8/5/22, our carpet was completely wet We all woke up again on 8/6/22 with headaches and it was just unbearable the night of 8/7/22, so we called the front desk to inform Nicole that someone in our party was really sick and we needed to check out a day early Nicole’s response was that we would still be responsible for the cost of the stay No offer to solve the issue, switch rooms or anything So we loaded up and went downstairs to check out I asked Nicole if there was an issue with mold in the hotel and she then stated that she would send an engineer up to our room to inspect It was only after I mentioned mold, Nicole mentioned possibly finding a replacement room disregarding a person in our party was really sick Nicole mentioned that someone would be in touch? Please be mindful of some of these issues mentioned before booking here The hotel hallways are not clean, the carpet is in need of replacement and it smells bad As of this time, no resolve

Hannah Peters

I booked this hotel during the $30 deal and I definitely would not go at the normal prices When we arrived, it took about 30 minutes to get checked in We had to wait for the desk attendant to find a room

The room looked nice when we came in but we soon found there was no way to adjust the thermostat on the wall and the one under the window sill didn’t work well at all There were beads like from a kids necklace and sequins all over the carpet as well as a discarded sock It seemed like it hadn’t been vacuumed The beds were nice and comfyWe also had only three towels and no hand towels or washcloths in a room with two queen beds The soaps on the shower wall, one was missing a spout and was moldy insideWe went up to the pool which was fairly small and a guest was cleaning it out with the net because it was so dirty There were also no chairs! There was one lounge chair and two tables All of which were taken (some of which occupied by employees) There was plenty of space for more chairs there just weren’t any A kid ended up offering us his chair and some people who came after ended up just laying towels on the groundThe game room was fun but most of the games were broken or missing pieces If we had payed any more than we had, I would’ve been mad

Great stay Rooms always clean (as expected), Hilton brands have never let me downStaff very friendly & accommodating

Location great with shops & restaurants right outside the back door There is a fountain with pond and ducks-Will definitely be staying there againI might add they are a pet friendly location which I personally think is great for those traveling (I am an animal lover) They have a certain floor dedicated to pets so if you are concerned about staying in a “pet friendly room” you can always request another floor Absolutely all the animals I saw while there (3 days) were well behavedThey even allowed me to check in early (like early early) lol because I was fighting storms & tornadoes all the way in so I arrived earlier than normal trying to stay ahead of themLess than 10 minutes after I unloaded the truck the skies opened up I am truly appreciative of them going above and beyond to help me out

iandi Boats

I am currently staying at this location Really nice facility and I usually don’t post negative comments but this is a location that business travelers should avoid So all went well during check in, I had a very nice dinner at the restaurant

Then I came to my room to clean up and get ready for bed As I completed “doing my business” in the lavatory, I went to reach for the toilet paper, There was none! I managed through the “awfulness” and called downstairs to the front desk I informed them there was no toilet paper in the bathroom The gentleman at the front desk said “there’s some for me at the front desk” I asked to clarify “you want me to come and get it” He replied “yes!” If you’re used to quality customer service avoid, at all cost, this location

love is

My stay was great there is something that I think needs to be addressed and that’s the accessibility of the hotel there is ample handicap parking spaces but I noticed there were times during my stay they were all occupied by cars that had NO indication of a pass or marked tag or window placardsAllowing those cars to remain there while guest that really need the spots was very disappointing and inconvenient There were two cars that never moved and after observing the leaves and other indicators of long term weathering collected on the two cars it was clear they had been parked there for so time, they were probably parked there and left that they weren’t even current guess if the hotel

Please monitor that situation to ensure that there is accessible parking available for those who really need it

We planned to celebrate with friends and decided to lodge here per a recommendation Our party of 6 (3 rooms) stayed three nights The valet team was kind, informative, and efficient

The checkin staff was thorough We had an issue with our room and the manager assisted us with a room change The rooms were clean, the penthouse level rooms offered spectacular views, and the hotel is quirky The lounge level bartender staff recognized us and greeted us, even when we were not stopping in for a drink Our only problem was that we were constantly being stopped and asked if we had reservations to access the rooftop Numerous individuals walked into the hotel, however; upon observation, we were the only group stopped when entering the side door or getting off the rooftop elevatorI recommend this hotel because it is a beautiful building In fact it’s the first fire containing/fire proof building in Richmond I hope that the staff’s keen awareness to minority groups was just a fluke

Tanisha Morgan

This hotel is adorable and perfectly named! So much pink it should be nauseating but it is not The decor is welcoming and refreshing and the rooms are nice Our king room was ready and clean when we arrived

The lobby bar has good hours There is a small gym on the lower levelValet parking only – $25 per night

Sarah JaQuay

It’s a quaint hotel It’s old school with some modern designs What I didn’t like about the hotel is that there are wood floors in the rooms as well as outside of the rooms and at night the noise from people walking in the halls sounded like they were walking inside of your room

The floor creaked and squeaked all night and it’s jarring to sleep thinking someone is walking in your room The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming I ordered food and wasn’t impressed at all It’s like when people try to do to much and ruin the entire meal It was just a salad that they ended up ruining It’s located in the perfect place A lot of restaurants surrounding that are in walking distance There is Valet parking The rooms are spacious Staff was very attentive The bed was comfortable

From the moment we walked into The Berkeley Hotel, we felt welcomed Alfreda greeted us so warmly, I felt like I was staying at a family members house The woman who helped us with checkout was also super nice, but I didn’t catch her name

The hotel definitely has a vintage feel, which my husband and I really enjoyed The room was clean and comfortable and had such a charm to it The location was fantastic We utilized a nearby parking deck and walked where we needed to go; there are a lot of cool places to visit on/near Cary Street We really enjoyed the vibe of The Berkley, and will definitely stay there again when in Richmond!

Mingxing Zhou

My boyfriend and I liked our stay here We arrived here on Tuesday and stayed for a night I have a service dog with me so the front desk lady got me a corner room which is quite spacious

The room is clean and neat Bathroom is huge The bedding was very comfortable too It’s nothing like a motel I was on a road-trip and definitely experienced what a motel is like This is way much better than a motel… Berkeley may be a bit old but is totally comfortable The location is good too Many restaurants close by We had no issue finding street parking here during our stay

Laurie

My husband and I stay in Richmond 2 or 3 times a year Just stayed in the Berkeley Hotel for the first time We will definitely be back

The woman at the front desk was helpful and courteous We were allowed a very early check in with no problemsThe location is great – close to restaurants and shops Within walking distance of the riverThe room was clean and the shower had plenty of water pressureSome of the fixtures were slightly worn, so I did not rate the hotel as 5 out of 5, but that would not prevent me from booking this hotel again

I love this hotel! My stay was very luxurious, clean and every amenity was available for use The room itself was decorated very well and very functional for working and relaxing I love that there’s an indoor pool and jacuzzi and access to a washer/dryer to wash my clothes during my visit

I was able to use the computer to print with great ease Hot breakfast was available, but my only suggestion to offer other meat options other the pork and having a small amount of vegan cheese available upon request I was very limited to what I could eat to ensure a hearty meal because the main options were pork

Amber S.

Stayed for the weekend, Friday night to Sunday Greeted with a smile and staff was very helpful Was allowed to change rooms upon arrival then previously booked (2 beds not available when booked)

Enjoyed the breakfast but beware coffee was very hot Hotel was clean and comfortable, worth the money Blankets on bed were a little light, if your cold natured I recommend bringing a blanket My friend and I did not get to enjoy the pool or hot tub due to hours Wish it was open a little later, maybe 10p to 11p for Adults only It would be nice to relax in hot tub after spending the day exploring And pool/hot tub were closed on Sunday which was a bummer because we wanted to use hot tub before checking out since check out is 12 pm (which was great) It’s near many local restaurants and bars so we loved its convenient location Definitely would recommend

Chad Desorcie

We stayed here 4/4-4/5 2022 I would recommend this place to to anyone that would love to kick back and relax go for a swim or maybe use the hot tub The room was big with everything you could ask for Was trying to hook up Xbox for the kids and they sent maintenance right up and he took care of it

Great job Breakfast was great and place was clean Great job to All of you that make this happen keep up the great work We will be back

I have stayed at the Linden Inn on previous business trips I much prefer the classic feel of the Inn as opposed to more corporate options The Inn has a charming and unique feel to it, and the rooms are dressed and decorated accordingly

The rooms themselves are huge in comparison to any hotel in which I have stayed My room had all the necessities – coffee maker, fridge, microwave, iron & ironing board – and was quite charming in appearance The hot water pressure (a personal pet peeve of mine) was excellentI had minimal interaction with the staff, but they were all very polite and helpful in terms of advice on parking and restaurantsThe Inn is located in a very pleasant neighborhood, and is in close proximity to everywhere I needed to beAll in all, a great experience, and one that I will repeat the next time I am in Richmond

The staff was super friendly and very polite The hotel itself is super adorable It’s not as polished as newer hotels chains but the old building is very nice

The beds were comfortable, the restaurant down stairs was yummy The only thing holding this back from being 5 stars was the AC They tell you not to set the AC below 70 due to it freezing the system, so we had ours set to 71 The room never dropped below 77, the high outside for the day was 78 With the being said, we will definitely be back next time we’re in Richmond

First time in Richmond Even though we only stayed one night this is one of the best Hotel experiences I’ve ever had The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable

They are more than willing to go out of their way with whatever you need as soon as you check in I talk about atmosphere in my reviews a lot because I think it’s an important component to any location you visit, whether you’re staying the day or for the night Walking into the Linden has the feel and familiarity similar to your own homeI also wanted to mention a member of the staff who helped me out the night I stayed here I couldn’t get the vending machine to work and was about to give up when she called me over and handed me four of her own fizzy drinks, free of charge It might seem like a small gesture to some but was incredibly kind and totally unexpected Where I live things like this rarely ever happen, back up North The people here, and in general in Richmond, are really one of a kind I can’t wait to visit again someday Highly recommended Thanks for a great stay 👍 👍

Very nice front desk staff and lobby felt clean The hallways do smell like smoke a bit, but rooms are smoke-free The rooms themselves felt a bit dated

The first floor is ground floor, so expect that there may be some dead bugs around windowsills We did find a spider on our ceiling, but “they kill other bugs”Very small fitness room, but at least there was one! Great mirror wall and water dispenser there with clean towels The location is good as long as you have a car It’s near shopping plazas and retail food chains but not walkableOverall a good stay, but you kind of get what you pay for

So so pleased with this hotel! Stayed for one night while passing through town with a toddler and a dog The hotel was clean and updated, the staff were extremely friendly, the room was quiet and had a balcony so I could easily see my car, and the pool/courtyard space was especially lovely It was in a nice part of town and I felt very safe

Will definitely stay again when in Richmond!

They have a nice small commons area, complete with a bar that serves breakfast and a light dinner Rooms are small but adequate, I liked the pull out desk and sliding door to a small patio From what I could determine, there was no complimentary coffee in the lobby but during meal times they do sell Starbucks

I am not a fan of the surrounding area but it was easy to get on and off the road making it a quick drive to a restaurant or to the Interstate Service was friendly and the room/area was clean

The hotel shines like a jewel in the heart of Richmond I thought the opulence of the entryway, along with the small museum showcasing the history of the building were well worth the lookWe came in for tea which we reserved 4 months in advance for Valentine’s weekend

The tea was pleasant and the ambiance was particularly upscale Wait staff wear masks which was appreciated! We were told that wait staff isn’t allowed to take pictures, the hostess also declined No problem The dill and cucumber sandwich didn’t really feature any dill and was watery The spinach tomato wrap was dry and cakes were pretty basic The sandwiches with ham were afterthoughts, why not add a mustard on that? You nailed the chicken salad and the savory scones were fantastic We were told that everything is made in house which I can see, but the execution on the sandwiches needs work 3/5

The afternoon chocolate tea was amazing Plenty of food for two people and a great selection of tasty treats Our waiter was very attentive and answered all of our questions

I received a special treat for my birthday, which was a surprise The hotel is gorgeous and they have lots of antiques and memorabilia that you can see Everyone was very friendly

The center piece when you enter is the grand staircase It does not disappoint Take some time and stroll the main lobby area and alcovesThey also have a nice restaurant (“Lamaire”) for lunch, dinner or just drinks/cocktails

Best hotel I’ve stayed in My wife and I could not have been happier Quiet rooms, well equipped, outstanding staff – everyone we met was super friendly, including the maintenance staff! Great breakfast, and the hotel offers a free dinner experience as well as drinks

The entire atmosphere made our stay so enjoyable We shall return!

Exceptionally pleasant check-in with a personable young man who I can only identify as a student at Liberty UniversityFull disclosure: I was more than taken aback and worried about the safety of our vehicle and a quiet night due to people hanging around at the back entrance drinking and smoking the intoxicating stuff and who repeatedly yelled at us until we acknowledged themOnce inside, the din of children at a pool party also had me worried because sometimes those parties continue late into the night in guest rooms

Not to worry Our hall was quiet Our room was quiet and restful Most important—the room and linens were sparkling clean!! We slept well and enjoyed a hearty breakfast included with our room When I requested a late check out, the staffer was more than agreeable

I am SO impressed with our stay here I picked Aloft because I was staying with my dog and I would definitely choose to stay here again First of all the staff was so friendly, accommodating, and helpful

The room was clean and a great size with spaces to get work done! It was so easy to park the car in the garage (and free) Last but not least the location was awesome Right outside the hotel is green space and a dog waste station There are a ton of restaurants to walk to or to just get exercise since it is in a mixed use community We LOVED our stay here!!

When my family and I arrived at our hotel, we were quickly checked in and given a room When we went up to the room, it was still dirty from the previous guest We immediately returned to the front desk and reported what happened

There was no apology for the inconvenience but, we did quickly receive a key for another room Unfortunately the breakfast supplied by the hotel was quite expensive! A single banana was $125 and small cup of oatmeal was $350 My family requested more towels the second night of our visit and the staff reported they did not have any clean towels to give us In the morning, around 6:30am, we went back to the front desk in hopes to receive fresh towels but, staff explained they would not have any clean towels until 9:00am I would not recommend staying in this area with young children as the hotel and close by restaurants play loud music at night that can be heard from even the top floor Nice workout facility!

I’ve stayed before and I like the hotel, however when the reservation is paid for in advance and I arrive to check in only to get charged almost the identical amount of reservation(5 dollars less) for “incidentals” which are usually a $50 charge, even the front desk employee said so, when I ask him about it and show the amount being charged he’s just dumbfoundedNormally this wouldn’t have been such an issue but this money is well was for my daughters birthday party tomorrowShould this incompetence affect my daughters birthday this will be my last stay and will never be recommending this hotel

Highly recommend to stay in this beautiful old house with huge garden and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere here The room and bed were cozy and comfortable and the homemade breakfast alone was worth the trip! The host was so warm and welcoming and has a lot of great tips for trips in the area and beyond We even got delicious homemade carrot cake for our journey home

Absolutely loved it here and hope to be back for longer next time!

We wanted a quick get-a-way to have some fun and laugh! My husband and I selected Virginia Cliffe Inn We went to James River Cellars for dinner and a great band! We danced, enjoyed a food truck, and headed back to our lovely room The bed was comfortable and the decor charming and so cozy

We had some questions come up and Judy was responsive and quick to help Pat, the chef, cooked a breakfast that was savory and delicious We also were able to talk to Pat and enjoyed her company The grounds are beautiful and well kept Little things like clean room, temperature, and “smell”–it smelled cleaned and well kept–were important to us We also had access to the kitchen which was nice for little things we needed We will be back!

Shannon Hepp

My sister had her wedding here It was a beautiful venue with lots of places for pictures! The coordinator wasn’t super helpful until right before the wedding, but our family pulled it all together We also made all the centerpieces, flowers, and other decorations

Also as a note for future brides and bridesmaids, the bridal cottage is quite small I wouldn’t recommend more than about 7 members of the bridal party in there during hair and makeup And keep the limited space in mind when you bring in your things/plan what kinds of foods or activities you want to do as you’re getting ready The groomsmen didn’t have this problem and said they had much more space in their quarters
