My family and I were looking for a place to stay as a “pit stop” on our road trip from Minnesota to Texas I googled the safest cities near KC and Prairie Village was it! We enjoyed it so much we booked 3 nights on our way back homeOur kids loved fishing on the lake as well as the playgrounds across the way

The staff was friendly and accommodating We liked that a room key is needed to access other floorsRoom was spacious and smelled amazing, the lake view was cozyGreat location, too! We felt right at home

Beautiful hotel and great property We enjoyed having several options to eat it The market had a grab and go section so a larger fridge or a microwave in the room would’ve been nice

Not a big issue though, would highly recommend There was a large post wedding party at midnight in the room next door and by the time I dialed the front desk they had already resolved the situation which was much appreciated We would definitely stay there again if we’re in the area

Stephanie Erisman

We recently stayed at the Inn at Meadowbrook for around a week and all I can say is that it was absolutely magical in every single way The rooms were gorgeous and extremely comfortable The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were having a wonderful stay

The amenities were amazing and the food options were delectable The staff made us feel completely at home and even brought out small gifts for my toddler who was over the moon It was simply magical and we will never forget our stay! We have many staycations already in the works for the upcoming months and we couldn’t be more excited I would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone, its top notch and you will have the best time ever!

This was an excellent place to stay Most places lately are a let down with customer service, but I am happy to say that is not the case for this staff! They checked all of the great customer service boxes, from the front desk staff to the wait staff in the dining room! Then there was the amazing breakfast they offer in the morning It was quite a spread and omelettes made to order as well

Again this was an excellent pick!

By far, the Worst Embassy Suites we’ve been to and we’ve stayed at many all over the country Even the ES in Overland Park that is so much older is run better than this one For any sports teams visiting KC for tournaments, STAY AWAY from this

The hotel only cares about rooms sales and they do not care or welcome their guests 1 There’s no coffee after 9:30AM There’s no coffee shop or cold drink, tea or smoothie place at the hotel at all Never seen such an empty bare hotel Guests have to drive a distance to get a drink Even Hilton Garden Inn has cold iced water, tea and coffee pots placed throughout the day in the lobby Here – nothing 2 All hotels typically when they have guests and busy weekend accommodate with food and drink service There are at least 100 rooms taken during this weekend for softball tournament just from our club Parents and kids eating at the restaurant last night, watching Stanley Cup playoff game The restaurant is full, people ordering food and drinks from 5pm, tens of thousands of dollars to be made in revenue this weekend The lady working at the hotel restaurant literally turns off the TV at 10pm and basically tells everyone to leave because they’re closed People are still eating their food and having their drinks, she hands them the bills and demands they pay immediately because they’re closed Never seen anything like this All the hotels we’ve stayed at, accommodate their busy weekends of guests by staying hour or so to wrap it up 3 The rooms are very small, no room for luggage, the drawers are so small, can only fit Barbie clothes The plumbing is terrible with sinks not draining, water pressure so low that cannot even wash your hands STAY AWAY from ES Olathe!! Take your money elsewhere! There are tons of hotels in the area esp Overland Park that know how to operate and accommodate busy weekends of full capacity and treat guests with good customer service

Just finished a three night stay with a youth group of 100! This hotel far surpassed my expectations The suites were clean and spacious The kitchens were fully stocked

The breakfast area was large and comfortable with plenty of room I’m picky about my breakfast items, and the selection was large and the eggs were real! The staff went above and beyond making sure our stay was comfortable I highly recommend this location as well as other Residence Inns

Rayleen Pirnie

Stayed here based on location and needed a suite with a pull-out bed but the next time we need a suite in the area we will book elsewhere Overall a very old, used feel to the room, along with an odd smell and VERY noisy fridge that disrupted sleep They need a remodel

Wouldn’t use the pull out part of the sofa-bed due to a big, black nasty spot in the middle of the mattress that looked like mold (just slept on the couch instead) Breakfast was ‘meh’ at best Nice staff

Mauricio Flores

Room was great, ladies at breakfast great Everything went down when I requested full housekeeping in my room since my stay was for 8 nights they do it for you I scheduled after my 4th night

The surprised came when I came to my room after a long day of work at 8pm, and my room still not cleaned I visit the front desk and told the guy that my room was not cleaned, he apologized and told me that for sure the next day was going to be clean Well, the same story repeats on my 5th and my 6th night They never came to my room to be cleaned after every person at front desk promise it was going to be ready the next day It’s not gratifying when you get to your room after a 12 hours shift at work, tired and find your room undoneParking needs to be expanded, all parking slot were taking when I came back from work at night

I was very underwhelmed by the Fontaine I had hoped it would live up to its “4-star” reputation but it’s way overpriced and needs more updating and maintenanceAn issue I had was that they advertise the prices to appear really low on Google

I was seeing in generic searches $112 a night That is absolutely not going to be the case We recently stayed 2 nights in a basic room and ended up paying $630 (including parking)As others have said, for the price, I would’ve expected more amenities They did have a rooftop bar which was nice, but the rooftop pool is really tiny No spa, very limited dining options, no robes in the rooms, etcThe lobby is nice and the shared facilities look the best But the individual rooms themselves need TLC Chipped paint, scuffs, rusty metal items…again just not what I expected for the star rating and costI don’t mind paying for excellence, but I wouldn’t stay again unless the rate was substantially decreased The value just wasn’t there for me

Ashley Lardino

You are only paying for the convenience of the location The lobby is beautiful and gives the illusion that you are staying at a very high end hotel The staff was very friendly

However, the room is very very basic And as in other reviews, our room was dirty The fridge had not been cleaned and had what looked like chocolate milk all over the inside It was dusty and the floors were dirtyThe only “luxury” was the walk in shower with the rainfall shower headThe rooftop pool was so small and the whole area was cramped It was hard to move around and uncomfortableI would not recommend this hotel if you are wanting a getaway for a special occasion Incredibly over priced for such an under whelming experience

Allen Pepito

Today, I planned a surprise reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday which is not for couple more days I’ve been in contact with Micheal Wallace in preparing for that day He has been kind and quick to respond to All (yes there were multiple interactions) my emails

The Fontaine hotel is mine and my boyfriend’s favorite stay-cation spot We have chosen to stay there 4 times now because of it cleanliness and beautiful rooms They also have an amazing rooftop pool and restaurant/bar The location is incredible since it is close to multiple restaurants and store at the plaza The parking is easy to find in the parking garage which has access to the hotel through an elevator Anyways, the customer service that I’ve receiving from Micheal in just planning this special night has been exceptional I just want to give a BIG THANK YOU to him for everything he has done

Large clean pool in a very shaded area

Sarah Carter

I have been staying here weekly since 11/1/21 & it has been phenomenal I travel for work & this was hands down the best place to stay Staff always welcomed me by name & were very professional

Food and bar in the lobby was great, rooms are updated and nice If you are working in healthcare on the road it is minutes away from KU med, Childrens Mercy, Menorah Medical Center and many more 10/10 recommend

Georg Kaufmann

Hair in sheets upon checkin and replacement sheets provided had holes in them Pool was a greenish color that smelled of urine Hairs around sink on counter and a dried up contact in front of toilet

This room by all accounts was not cleaned prior to our arrival A shame considering this was a Hyatt Got our money back and found another hotel at 8pm at night 👎

Service was great Di went out of her way during the breakfast service every day to make sure we were happy She found out I liked regular Lipton tea and not only found me a tea bag but she recognized me each morning and would go get me a couple of tea bags during that time

You could see her going around and giving that same level of service to everyone She really goes above and beyond and takes pride in what she does

Elise Masters

This review may be confusing as I did not actually stay at this hotel I stayed in the Marriott that was in downtown KC but needed a place to hang out for a couple of hours until a friend could come pick me up When I explained the situation to the hotel staff behind the counter they were so friendly and accommodating and made me feel so at home even though I was staying in a different branch of the hotel

The atmosphere in the lobby was wonderful as well They had aesthetic areas to sit and classy music My few hour stay was very enjoyable and I wish I had caught the name of the staffer behind the desk so that he could be recognized

Mathew Johnson

The room was clean and comfortable with excellent wifi available Deducting one star as the breakfast hot food offering was not hot Even items from the bottom of the various serving dishes were, at best, lukewarm with the top often being cold

Didn’t try any of the lunch and evening food options so no comment thereWindows could have done with a clean as wellBut in terms of priorities which were somewhere comfortable to stay with friendly staff – these were met and exceeded so would stay again

The room itself was clean and the hotel was peaceful, bed was nice Our stay was great However there was a price discrepancy that I needed clarity on so I called to figure out what the charges were and NATASHA the morning cashier didn’t even let me finish explaining the issue before she began to cut me off and talk

I kept asking what the extra charge was because it was showing in the bank account but it wasn’t on the receipt She continued to say it was a beautiful Saturday and she wasn’t in the mood to argue with me Talking about she doesn’t get paid to get talked to like that, MIND YOU, I NEVER got upset UNTIL she started making smart remarks and cutting me off, being sarcastic and whatnot So I gladly broke her off a piece and asked for a manager She hung up on me and I called back I’m being polite asking legit questions and she couldn’t even CLARIFY that it was an incidental charge The clerk that was there the night before said the incidental charge would be $20 but it ended up being more That’s where the confusion and miscommunication was However she was rude As h3ll Once I spoke to a manager she explained everything and it made sense I probably wouldn’t go back just off the strength she couldn’t explain something simple Maybe if she had listened before she started running her mouth I wouldn’t have snapped on her And the lady from the night before shouldn’t be telling people prices if she doesn’t know what she’s talking about

Room was clean, beds very comfortable We stayed here for 1 night with our whole family so we booked 3 rooms My only complaint was the pool

filter was not running and hasn’t been for sometime The water was cloudy and there was so much built up scum on the pool tile that people were able to scratch their names on it Yuck There were no towels in the room and it was obvious no one had swept, mopped or even checked the pool room in quite a while (Ex Food on floor, dirty, wet floor and towels/goggles on the floor) We paid quite a bit to stay here and the pool was the deciding factor as to why we picked this place Not to mention the pictures of the pool are misleading, there isn’t even a hot tub as shown

Brad Kosar

3-star facility 5-star staff The property is aged but the staff were very friendly; everyone greeted me with a smile

The owner needs to update the property It’s old The dining area looks to have been updated in the last few years but the rest of the property has a late-90’s vibe to it Now although the decor and property are outdated the property was clean and seemingly well maintained Also, the area in front of the bathroom sink was carpeted–that was gross; we all know that carpet will never really fully dryThe desk staff were amongst the most friendly I have encountered in awhile at a Marriott property Management has clearly hired the right people and trained them wellHowever they were short-staffed; as is common in the hospitality industry today We needed maintainence for a ‘plumbing issue’ in our room The front desk attendant said they were short staffed but said she could provide us a plunger and rubber gloves to perform the service ourselves Frankly I was impressed and grateful for not only the honesty but the solutions-focused action of the staff My Midwestern sensibilities embraced the opportunity to solve a problem quickly by doing a little work myself but I could see how that could be a turn off to some guests Overall I consider this situation to be a positive because we felt like the staff were being creative in a tough situation to solve our problem Well done teamAlso, nice courtyard area off the lobby

Thank you Bo for your kindness and gentle smile Bo took excellent care of me and my significant other (Concierge in the Club Lounge) He deserves a raise and a bonus!!❤

This is a really nice hotel, only a couple of small issues I wish there was a microwave in the room, and when I arrived my shower drain was super clogged and the first shower I took I was basically standing in standing water at the bottom of the tub That said I did request this maintenance from the front desk and it was taken care of quickly

The shower head wasn’t that nice either, it was spraying water in several different directions, but I got the job done Several other people I was traveling with mentioned that they did not have soap in their room when they arrived, it wasn’t just one person, so that also doesn’t look good I also wish the breakfast menu down the restaurant had a few more options But The Omelette was really good so no worries I suppose Otherwise the look and feel the place is super nice and I’d be happy to stay here again I also forgot my iPhone charger and one of the front desk attendants was actually really helpful in letting me borrow one

Rachel Brown

Hotel stay was great Lexi with sales was GREAT to work with We were with a baseball team and they put all those that scheduled timely on same floor which worked well

Noise was minimal from other guests Rooms are a bit small for families larger than 4, BUT expected when they are attached to conference center and mostly cater to businesses vs an actual family stay Hotel was updated, clean, fresh Super accessible to all things and the highway Our family had dual tournaments…Lenexa and Lee’s Summit it was PERFECT location for both

This hotel is beautiful, its staff friendly, and its location great I’ve stayed here twice now and plan to stay again as often as I can The rooms have a classic look and are immaculately clean

The building has an old soulful feel to itDuring my most recent stay, I presented a tax exemption document to the front desk at checkout time No hotel likes dealing with these, but Charlotte was patient and thorough in seeing it through, multitasking by helping other guests while she adjusted my bill I could not be more pleased with my experience

We loved our experience at The Truitt Hotel! The hotel is small and feels like you are staying at your best friend’s amazingly redecorated historic home We had the honor of staying in the one bedroom suite and our jaws dropped from the first moment opening the door The decor, art and style are impeccable!! The little details such as a handwritten note, local chocolates, espresso machine and snacks made us feel warm and welcome

The outdoor sitting area is SO CUTE as are the library and neon sign in the main house! The main house rooms are just as amazing! Very spacious and stylish! The only thing that made me want to get out of the super comfy bed was the thought of getting into the AMAZING shower We felt pampered and welcomed and will be returning on trips back to KC Thank you so much for creating such a gem!

Allison Domingues

I don’t even know where to start Everything about this place is incredible The historic home is gorgeous, the garden/grounds are magical, and the details and decor are perfection

Ryan and David have thought of every single detail to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable, whether you’re a local staying for one night or whether you’re coming from out of town for a longer stay My husband and I have traveled a lot and have stayed in many places, from small bed and breakfasts to large hotels, and everything in between Staying at The Truitt was one of the best experiences we have EVER had Hands down We will definitely be back and will recommend that all of our out of town friends and family stay there when visiting KC!

Kaela Varberg

The Truitt was the perfect place for our staycation! The check-in was easy and seamless The grounds are beautiful and the main house/guest rooms are unique and inviting We really enjoyed the decor, the comfortable king bed and the nod to local KC vendors in the snack options

The personalized touches including the welcome note, local treats, etc made our stay extra special! Highly recommend if you are looking for a great place to stay in KC!

We were only spending the night as part of our mini vacation We checked in at 4:30 and went our for a steak and lobster meal at a location close by I wanted 2 queen beds but, none were available

They said they could get a suite with a king size bed and a divan that opened up to a queen size bed Perfect! It was very comfortable! The ultra bedding for the divan mattress was immaculate and the bed linens were fresh and and smelled so good! The breakfast was Outstanding and Delicious So many choices My eggs were cooked to my specifications and there were more choices on the buffet to choose from!! They went above an beyond to cater to our every need Love This Place!!!!!

Holly Graves

I had booked at the Aloft, but was relocated due to a plumbing issue at the hotel I was grateful for a place to stay but the courtyard is nothing like the Aloft Nothing within walking distance and the hotel bar is reminiscent of a walk up counter at the airport rather than a place to relax at the end of a long work day

Room was clean, but there are no usb charging ports which was inconvenient and unexpected Staff was fine Overall this place left no impression on me and I wouldn’t stay here again unless it was the only option Great if you plan to drive somewhere for dinner and then go straight to your room and sleep

Paul Corley

Very much enjoyed our stay hereCorey (manager) was gracious & helpful He went out of his way to help us during our stay!! Room was very comfortable and spacious! Ella kept our room very clean & neat! Also it was a very safe & great location

I wish I could give this place more stars, but the breakfast was underwhelming They’re still serving COVID-style grab n-go sandwiches and cereal foods, when a DC restaurant I just stayed at is a fully open buffet style The milk was frozen, and options limited

The rooms were very very nice and I would still recommend staying here

Hotel is nice enough, but getting here right now is a pain The exist off the higheay is closed, so you have to go down one more and come back up through a street with like 6 roundaboutsLobby is nice, reception was okay

Will update after breakfast tomorrowWeird stain/dirt on couchI think a 4-star review is adequate, but pushing lower

Some staff was great and some staff wasn’t helpful at all The pool was very dirty and the pool area was not serviced before 8 am

A complete mess The room had previous guests used towels We couldn’t change rooms because we were told the hotel was full No compensation offered, so I thought I’d write a quick review I only took a video, so no picture to post

Great hotel! Good rates that were only a few dollars more than the typical mid range chain hotels we normally usedAs many others have mentioned, the breakfast is a particularly good highlight Good variety, staff attends to the dining area well to keep things filled and clean

Eggs weren’t watery, potatoes were crispy and seasoned wellBeds were comfortable, decor nicely kept up Cleaning was done very well and the staff courteousDon’t know what else you’d want in a hotel! Will definitely be back for future trips

Truly exceptional service I had a late check in and instead of checking me in and sending me on my way the front desk 2 employees (i forget their names but it was 10-11pm this past Tuesday) took the time to explain everything they have to offer as amenities and had some unrelated friendly chit chat! Awesome personalities from the both of them Honestly all the employees I met were helpful and friendly

Even just walking past anyone working there would say hello as I passed by The food and drinks are amazing and the upkeep as well! One of the best hotels I have stayed at in my many years of travels Outstanding work! The happy hour food and drinks were also amazing! This was what I picked in the kitchen and bar on Fridays their “5:30 pm kickback” (see photo)

Very clean, nice, like new hotel near all the shopping areas! It’s a little further away from Country Club Plaza but I don’t mind driving 20-25 min to get there I enjoy having a small kitchen with my king bed studio Highly recommend staying here!Stuart and the other front desk lady were super friendly and courteous!

We had recently had to stay at a hotel for a little over a month due to water damage and this place did not disappoint The units are clean, had up to date decor and were very comfortable The staff was excellent! Very friendly and helpful

The daily breakfast was amazing Fresh, hot waffles, bacon, sausage and eggs plus a large selection of cereal, fruit and pastries What more could you ask for?! The on site laundry was free to use! I know, free!! There was a very nice gym and a nice indoor pool They really made our stay comfortable and happy A refreshing change from the horror of the Ameristar but that’s a different review Lol

Clean hotel with friendly staff There is 1 major issue: the indoor pool The tile around the pool is crazy slippery! Someone is going to get hurt badly

Walking very slowly and carefully was still very difficult to keep from slipping and falling Please put a coating on the floor before a disaster happens I managed hotels for many years and had to do this myself when the wrong tile was laid in a new construction Other than that, the pool area is very clean and adequate pool towels provided We will definitely be back but will bring water shoes! 😉

This location accommodated our entire softball team for a week, setting up a block of rooms was a snap! The rooms were sizable and very clean! All of the staff were extremely friendly & helpful, there wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for our group, including providing complimentary breakfast every morning without us even asking! The location was also great, super easy to hop on the interstate and many restaurants close by Nice pool & bar area to relax in This was a top notch stay!

Kylene Littrel

The beds were insanely hard I only give it two stars because the staff was friendly and the room was nice and clean The main thing I look for in a hotel is my ability to sleep comfortably and that did not happen

I even tried sleeping on the couch which was more comfortable than the bed Also, paying an extra $10 per person for breakfast is ridiculous

This is the best hotel breakfast I’ve had since COVID started! All the food was warm, fresh, and ready It’s real breakfast with lots of options- not just those yucky bagged breakfastsIn addition, when you walk in the lobby, it’s smells amazing! If I could bottle up that smell and bring it home, I would! This is a very comfortable hotel

It’s nice and clean The staff is professional We loved the pool area We would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the KC area!

Jack Okubo

Room was well cleaned when we arrived Everything looks new The TV had our name on it which was a nice surprise

I had no problem connecting to wifi Just a heads up if you are planning on watching Netflix or Amazon prime movies in your free time, you need to have your own account information The hotel does not have a login The breakfast had slightly less variety than other hotels but still enough

Heath Chambers

It was a nice fancy hotel High tech Had issues trying to connect to wifi

I did not succeed The bed wasn’t as comfortable as it should of been It did have a bar downstairs and a swimming pool And a little store to get snacks from and drinks As far as breakfast goes the juice dispenser had a few options that was a plus It had sandwiches in plastic that are pre heated in a microwave and then put in the hot plate to keep warm I had the turkey backn and gouda cheese sandwich For the most part it was good but then I bit into a hard spot the size of a 50 cent piece that’s a good quarter size of the sandwich so that turned me off It was bad enough of the semi soggy bread from the moisture in the bag front desk and bartender were awsome and very knowledgeable will I stay at another place like this probably not
