I saw the reviews after booking and it gave me pause We did not have any of the negative experiences that have been mentioned here The outside of the building could use a refresh, but the inside looks great

The staff was friendly and helpful and our room was clean with a great view The pool area is really nice and spread out, with two pools and a large hot tub One of the pools is salt water and the other has swim up bar and a slide Considering the price of some of the other hotels nearby, I think this was a good value and would enjoy staying here again

Vidal Sanabria

The service and location are definitely where you want to be If you book an ocean front room here, it literally is facing the ocean Our room was so close to the ocean I could have thrown something in from our balcony if I wanted

The rooms were stylish and simple The only issue we had was the cleaning staff could do a little bit better cleaning the floor of the rooms We would definitely stay here again, as it is close to everything and a beautiful location

45Came with my girlfriend and we had a wonderful time The check in process was quick easy and the receptionist, Melany, was very polite

I recommend asking to be upgraded as soon as you arrive it’s a slight upcharge (we paid about an extra $35 per night), but its totally worth it So if you have the option request the ocean view side From my understanding the side that faces the bay is an older building and not as updated We got an upgrade and our room was much larger with a nicer bathroom The pool area is nice and the beach is a public beach but they will give you chairs and an umbrella Lots of restaurants, shops and other things in walking distance Would definitely come back!

We loved our stay here! It was right on the beach (the highlight of hotel), convenient to local stores, restaurants, and bars (all within walking distance), and the staff was very friendly and super attentive- anything you want was a easy text message away! If I had to give any recommendations for an improvement would be better ventilation in the rooms The rooms are really small (which is standard for a boutique hotel) but because of that the room felt moist and stuffy at times (especially if the air conditioning wasn’t on) My other recommendation would be a separate sitting area outside for hotel guest! The restaurant inside the hotel has seating for restaurant patrons only, but as a guest it would have been nice just to sit out on that balcony area and enjoy the nice weather

Yusimy Reyes (Yusi)

Hotel personal very nice Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful However, rooms are not as cleaned as expected

Rooms need a little maintenance to make them look as they are promoted within their website Sink was loose; from the wall Toilet seat was not the size the toilet bowl required (oversized) Bed sheets were not changed during my 5 day stay It would have been nice to have had at least every other day; room service; done to the room and clean towels placed Otherwise, my rating would have been 5 stars

Luis Mercado

This is my 3rd time at The Tryst I love the location Super clean, with a beautiful ocean view

Small rooms, but I’m good with it The restaurant is A+ The staff is excellent and very friendly They always have helped me a lot In this trip, Alex Vargas made the difference helping me with some technical issues I had to work from the hotel Thanks to him, I could Thanks, amigos!

We needed an extra night’s stay and found this fantastic hotel through AAA The room was absolutely stunning From the amazing decor to bright and spacious bathroom, every detail was beautifully curated for a boutique hotel experience

We had an ocean view room and was not disappointedI have never had such a phenomenal view of the ocean before Absolutely stunning The staff were so friendly, accommodating, and helpful And the pool area had a great view with an awesome bar/wait staff, not to mention easy access to the beach area I really enjoyed my stay Such a great find!

Ashley Adams

What a nice place with beautiful views! We enjoyed our stay for my boyfriend’s birthday The staff was extremely friendly, the pool, deck, and cabana were a great time and the food was tasty! We will definitely be back! Only giving 4 stars because we had to ask for our room to be cleaned and when they came to clean, they didn’t clean the bathroom or give us fresh towels and wash cloths But, everything else was great!

Krystal Champagnie

The view in the ocean room was beautiful but the room was oddly and very moist The accent carpet was not clean and also moist and disgusting You can tell the room was lightly cleaned and not deep cleaned

The bed was too soft in my opinion The shower is also very odd because there is no shower door and it felt like taking a shower with the curtain open You have to steam the entire bathroom first to take a comfortable shower Also, there is no microwave in the rooms or on the property of the hotelso say goodbye to your leftovers Hotel is close to everything and the beach is walking distance The beach and view os the hotel’s saving grace The service at the restaurant was excruciatingly slow and the food was overpriced Overall, it wasn’t the worst but I expected much more for the price point The pool was always packed but no complaints about the atmosphere The staff is very nice but I definitely feel like I could’ve spent less

Our stay at the O:live was a dream come true! The aromatic entry was amazing to walk into and the atmosphere felt so relaxing, romantic, eclectic and unique The front desk staff was exceptional! Vincent, along with two young ladies at the front desk were so kind to suggest local hot spots as well as helped book us a car rental when we got in a last minute bind Hands down some of the best costumer service we have had in a long time

Our room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable! I couldn’t say enough positive things about this beautiful hotel We also did the roof top couples massage and it was lovely The only (and I mean ONLY) let down was that the stone tub did not get hot enough to actually soak in and it took a while to fill up Never the less worth the stay! We will be back!

Dani Szafran-Reeder

My husband and I came here for our delayed honeymoon because we got married during COVID lockdown, and we already are making plans to come back The hotel is so clean and beautiful, and the people working there were incredibly hospitable The level of detail that they take care of to make sure you enjoy your stay shouldn’t go unnoticed

We had the Mediterranean Oasis suite and I never wanted to leave!

Josh Vega (Josh Vega)

The hotel is beautiful and the staff are great but we had a few issues… We specifically booked the romantic room with the hot tub but it turns out the water isn’t hot and you have to fill it up yourself with a hose which takes hours I tried to fill it up after a night out and it just took to long so it killed the vibe Third night I asked the staff to fill it up for us so it would be ready when we got back but it was only filled up a quarter of the way (possible leak)

Also our AC unit kept turning off on its own so I had to wake up at least 8 times a night to turn it back on

Emma Fabre

The rooms are spacious and clean, the pool is great too Breakfast was really disappointing, especially for the price you pay Moreover, they mistakenly billed us two nights instead of one, rather unprofessional for a hotel that would like to be seen as high-end

They indicate they have a 24/7 desk but, despite telling them in advance we will be arriving around 3AM because of our flight, we got a « no show » and two nights billed (we stayed only a night) Issue was quickly solved though

Alixandria Warren

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and feel the other reviews are very deceiving The hotel is outdated, smells weird in general areas and rooms I went in three different rooms and found issues around cleanliness, quality of room, loudness of air unit and extreme dust

They also allow pets which is fine but I’m not a fan There is no microwave and coffee machine outdated There also seems to be mold growing and appears to be painted over or dirt There is also rust of a majority of furniture in room I think the staff however are amazing They are kind, friendly and extremely helpful I think this might be what gives the hotel such high ratings Overall the hotel is outdated but with great staff

Bill Westervelt

I was impressed with the staff at this Hyatt Check in took a total of 2 minutes, folks at the cafe/bar were very helpful and the bartender made a great margarita The room was showing its age a bit but they had a full complement of accessories (including an extra blanket), a modern HVAC controller, and it was relatively quiet – even on a Saturday night

There is not a lot around this hotel but it is in a nice area where you can go for a walk or a jog and its convenient to the airport The only real negative is the lack of restaurant choicesI would definitely stay here again

I have been coming here for a very long time If you stay for a few days you for sure won’t be let downGreat location Everything you need was within a 10 minute walk or less Beach was 15 minute drive

Sarah Bancroft

Room was so coldI constantly had goosebumps Had to sleep in clothes and a hoody

I called maintenance and they were very prompt, they tried to fix it but couldn’tHe changed settings on the panel and told me to keep it as he left it and it would warm up but unfortunately it didn’tHotel is dated and in need of renovationsStaff were however very helpful and friendlyLocation was great lots to do and see just a short walk away

Ana Crawford

Waste of points The lobby and staff were nice but that’s where it ended Loud, dirty and run down rooms

Moldy smelling hallways An upgrade to a “balcony” room was a joke as you can’t even fit on the balcony The headboard leather was torn There was mold on the carpet by the balcony There was a layer of dust on the bathroom shelves Super disappointing and a total waste of my BonVOY points We would have changed hotels but only stayed one night prior to departure from the airport

Michelle Richard

My husband and I stayed at Casablanca hotel June 16-19, and I wanted to post a review because there were a couple of negative reviews that made me question our choice before our trip Let me say that this hotel is gorgeous, comfy, and in a great location and those reviews do not do the hotel justice It is what it is, a boutique hotel in a historical building, but it is so full of charm, and the owners have done an amazing job of using the available space

We stayed in a king bed room on the second floor, and it was very roomy, much bigger than a normal hotel room, with a sitting area Our “windows” faced the interior (enclosed) courtyard, but let in plenty of natural light, and the shutters could make the room as dark as night, which made for great sleeping-in time The bedding was soft and thick, and the air conditioner in the room let us keep it nice and chilly There was not a closet, but there was an area to hang our clothes The bathroom itself was small, but the shower was hugeThere is a Cafe and bar in the hotel, and you are steps away from dozens of shops and restaurants There are TWO rooftops- one with soaker tubs and the other with three partitioned Jacuzzis, and plenty of lounge seating on both, with gorgeous views of the cityParking is two small blocks away, and you get a discount from the hotel, it is only $14 a night When we take our next trip to Puerto Rico, we will definitely stay here again!

Lauren Vaughan

I can not wait to return (I am very lucky to live in Puerto Rico) The service was amazing (front desk), the room was extremely clean (very comfortable bed), and the 3 hot tubs on the roof made it the perfect Valentine’s Day/Night stay cation The room was worth the price (around $130)

I did not get the chance to try the restaurant, but the food looked good The location is also perfect and the parking garages (public) are the next street over

Michael Henne

This location is fantastic The hotel has hot tubs and deep bath tubs up on the roof that were great late at night They also have an arrangement with the nearby parking garage that’s only $13/day

Breakfast was charged separately, but very good They have a small bar that opens at 6:00 pm But what makes this a 5 star is it’s location

Carlos Resendiz

The hotel was nice Loved the historic feel to it The staff was nice and accommodated to our needs

The view from our room was amazing Only thing I noticed was the hot tub wasn’t working, but when I brought up to the staff, they called someone to fix it Would recommend Would also recommend the bar at the first level, the bartender “Ricky” was great and always had a good attitude and conversations

Danielle W

So very beautiful! we loved staying here! right in the heart of old San Juan, there was so much to do the view from our window was just so gorgeous Our bed was remade each day we left and came back

Even though the floors are tile or Brick (something old and beautiful) it was not dusty, or dirty to walk on good size for a couple Hospitality made us feel like we were at home its an old Nun Convent so we enjoyed immersing ourselves in the whole experience the water in the hot tub was not hot but there was so much other things to do we didn’t mind! I would definitely recommend staying here Also, this place is pretty popular for weddings so it was a party every night we were there you can really feel the love 💘

Jonathan Pena

Location is a little difficult to reach because of the hills and very narrow roadsThe hotel is amazing, beautiful, and next to a Church where many wedding take placeThe service was also amazing, i was working out if the bar area and the fans were not working, they sent someone over to fix it ! It definitely took some time but I’m grateful they were willing to fix it just by asking if the fans could be turned in to avoid the mosquito from eating me alive

Overall would definitely visit again in the future!

Its a nice place but I will never come again They have hidden fees that they charge to your card after your stay When I asked why I needed to put my card information in he told me it was for incidentals such as food from bar and room service

When I left I got an invoice for $203 (an amount that excludes what we were aware of spending) I called and was told even if he didn’t tell me it was in the paper I signed so be careful

Jacob Wilkowsky

The location for this hotel is great and the rooms are nice, but it’s located next to a “party” center and they blast music until 12/1AM I can hear the music loudly in my room and there are no room changes available I’m shocked that this hotel has as good of a rating as it does on google and would not recommend it

If you do choose to book here make sure to get a room away from the “party” center

Mingke Li

I wanted to give 5 stars for the front desk lady who helped me a lotBut —==========I contacted the executive team and got my item shipped out, so I raised the stars back to 3Something to think about: to get my item back, I called the front desk 32 times over 20 days, and I think I was on hold for at least 2 hours in total, I can even remember your hold message now

Then I got impatient and called the executive team and voila! I got my item back in just an hour!==========I lost an item at the hotel, they have found itTo get the item back, I made 20 phone calls over the past monthAnd I still have not got it backShip the item you found back to me and I will change my review Thank you

Writing my review while I’m still here This is such a beautiful and simple hotel It’s in the middle of everything so walking to the grocery store and food places are short walks

The scenery here is beautiful and the room was perfect for me and my friend’s needs Also, a woman by the name of Claudia who works at the front desk is Heaven sent She gave us amazing food recommendations and was just overall super helpful We went to a beach club we found online and found out we actually couldn’t enter because we weren’t members I called the front desk at our hotel for a recommendation of where to go and she told us we actually had a day pass to a nearby hotel’s beach and related items She texted me the pass immediately It was built into the price of our stay and she honestly saved the day and made my birthday special Claudia thank you so much for everything You were so kind and went above and beyond for us

Had a great 5 days here with my wife recently I understand it might not for everyone but it’s a hotel definitely worth more than 1 starWe had room 510 and it was great

The bathroom is huge and the lighting, balcony and the finishes of the room are for a 4 star hotelThe rooftop pool is amazing Very quiet every morning and we had a relaxing time ordering and bring our own drinks from our roomThe restaurant on the 1st floor is absolutely a must Must make a reservationWe also indulged in the sunset champagne lounge in the bay A little pricey but honestly not a lot of places where this is available

Michelle B

Pretty bar overlooking some of the city I didn’t stay here but wanted to visit the bar Hotel is gorgeously decorated 💛Was able to order drinks , but wanted to order food and they never came around

This was for several tables A few people were having to almost walk out before the servers saw them and charge for their meal/ drinksThe servers were working but there just wasn’t enough And they looked like they were also working above in the pool areaDidn’t make reservations *

We really enjoyed our stay at 352 Guest House The initial welcome by Freddie at this family run boutique was warm and informational The inside of the building is beautiful and truly has old San Juan architecture

The attention to detail is amazing, even the lock pad greeted us by name when we used our key card We had a balcony room and enjoyed watching the activity on the street with our coffee and late in the evening If you don’t have a balcony room, the rooftop is a lovely place to sit at a shaded table or use the hot tub It is a very pleasant and charming place to stay

I would not recommend staying here There were various problems throughout my week long stay The biggest gripe I have for sure is that my bag of souvenirs was missing

I reported it and never heard back, when I followed up I was told that it was never reported but it was most likely accidentally thrown out by housekeeping and in the dumpster The next day I followed up again I was told there was never a report despite the person I spoke to standing right there! The person at the desk went to talk to somebody and came back and said after an investigation it was determined there was never a black bag in my room so I cannot be reimbursed 1)The bag was white 2) How did they do an investigation if they just said it was never reported? 3) How could an alleged investigation determine it was never there when the one item I took out of it was still there? On top of that, there were other problems Our rooms were not ready at 4 PM like we were originally told check-in time was The 7th floor smelled like what I can only describe as wet clothes and stunk up the hallway and bedroom None of the computers worked in the business center either The washers and dryers were also bad the clothes did not dry at all and had to be hung out The hotel is nice aesthetically but that is about it I feel bad writing this review but I felt that I had to say something

We liked this Hyatt Why 4 stars? When we checked in we had to wait past 3 pm for our room (503, a handicap room) even though they were not full Also, the room seems to have a problem with the AC- it always felt humid and the sofa felt wet

We remarked this and they changed the filter but that didn’t help But, kudos to their maintenance guy who was friendly and professional NOTETO THE MANAGER: the breakfast staff take out a large amount of food just prior to closing, is it because they are allowed to take it home if uneaten?

The hotel was not forth coming on all the fees They nickle and dime you And don’t like being transparent

I asked what the fees were to park, when setting up I couldn’t get a clear answer Then i was told $1100 a day They charge a daily incidental fee And it broken down with surcharges Its not like a $15000 a then fees They’re also taking that fee with a municipal fee, and surcharge fee Question ask them?

We just returned from our trip to PR and cannot say enough amazing things about this hotel! Perfect location, classy style, open bar and friendly staff The air conditioning was on point, the mini fridge was convenient and the private balcony included with our room was a perfect place to enjoy the sounds of nightlife and relax Great place at a great price! Would love to return one day

As a corporate pilot, I travel a lot, and see lots of hotels For a resort hotel, it so far has been the best balance of things to see, do, play, eat, work, and sleep Really enjoyed the the peace and quiet, listening to the ocean, when I needed to work and sleep

When it was time to venture out, there is plenty to offer Hotel is clean and air conditioner works well The room is well provided with space and amenities The beach is beautiful and would be great if my family was here Lifeguards are on watch Staff is very polite and attentive Check in was super fast Cons- Prices are high as you would expect for Spring Break Food and drink are expensive as well, but plenty of cheaper alternatives within walking distance if needed I would definitely stay here again

This was my first trip to Puerto Rico, definitely not my lastThis hotel was okay but I expected more The lobby was always clean and refreshing

The staff out front that checked my bags were friendly and welcoming on arrivalThe only option to reheat a snack I had just purchased for breakfast from Starbucks down the block was to wait for the restaurant by the pool to open up at 11AM I purchased that item at 7AM specifically to eat by the pool rather than in my room Before my first full night, I had to alert the staff that my key card was not working I ended up five floors above mine while riding up with another hotel guest I assumed there was something wrong with the elevator I had to walk all the way down to the first floor since I was not able to use the elevator I booked a junior suite with an ocean view The ocean view was by far not much I wouldn’t even call it a partial ocean viewOn numerous occasions calls to the front desk went unanswered to the point I had to call using both my cellular device and hotel room phone at the same time I gave up at that point and had to leave my room on a few occasions to physically present myself to the front desk with my inquiriesThe day before my flight after scuba diving I attempted to shower on my return to the hotel The drain was clogged so I sat for 2-3 hours while maintenance staff tended to my issue I had to wait since I planned on showering all saltwater off of my body before souvenir shoppingThat same day during my final night there I attempted to use the jacuzzi which I had issues with and had to call staff around 8PM I fell asleep while waiting By the time they arrived and fixed the issue, I no longer wanted to use the jacuzzi and decided to go back to sleepOverall I expected better from this hotel during my first trip to Puerto Rico For the cost I paid, I was quite surprised

This was our second time at this hotel and the second time we had issues staying here The first time they messed up our reservationWe frequent PR a lot because of family but we won’t waste our money staying here again

It’s not worth the priceThe second we got to our room the air conditioning was broken and it was 80 degrees – maintenance came to fix it- confirmed there was a problem so we asked the front desk for another room since it was our honeymoon and we had plans pretty much immediately after arrivingI chatted the front desk- they said they’d look into it and then never responded Instead we waited 2 hours for the AC to be fixed – canceling our plans and wasting our time sitting in the room with the engineers The rooms are outdated and half of the “amenities” didn’t work- like the phonesWe stayed at a cheaper hotel on the strip a couple of years ago and had a better time – with better front desk service We spoke to the front desk on 3 separate occasions and there was no resolution or follow up On our last day the water went out Which is understandable but since we couldn’t get ready to leave without water we asked for a later checkout and they could only offer an hour extension For a fairly new hotel I’d expect a little more The staff outside of the front desk were all awesome

This is quite an interesting hotel! My husband and I booked an “Artist Room” as that was the only option available for our dates, and we stayed in the “Brown Room” Our room was fairly accessible, located only a few steps from ground level near the front desk That cannot be said for many rooms on the property- Some rooms are accessible only via steep stairs/ spiral stairs

Our room was small, as expected, and windowless The slatted door was surprising to us, but made sense due to the lack of windows The bathroom was located in the room, but up a small set of stairs and was tight- not much room for toiletries The AC in the room was great- The room temperature was well regulated the whole time The bathroom was not well ventilated, and did get fairly sticky- The door to the bathroom didn’t close all the way, probably due to the wood swelling, so we didn’t have much privacyI would caution light sleepers before booking this hotel- Our room, while internal and windowless, was loud due to the neighboring room and their guests We could hear every conversation in the lobby and the screaming of the kids in the room next to us until well into the nightThe hotel is old and funky, but was comfortable and generally clean Due to the open-air nature of the hotel, there was some dirt on the floors/ in the room, but I am very sensitive to dust and mold and was totally fine in this hotel, which is rareThe location is unbeatable and the views from the rooftop are very unique

From booking to checking out this was a wonderful place The staff is amazing and always willing to assist in making your stay memorable and as comfortable as they possibly can Before we arrived for our birthday vacation I contacted the guest services and had a few special requests and they worked with me to get them taken care of

Our suite was gorgeous and the view, there are not enough words to describe it Thank you to Nadia, Sophia Leanne and all of the wonderful staff at The Gallery Inn A special thank you to Edwardo who provided not only security but also assistance with parkingThis is not a place for everyone, if you love history and classic old world design If you like the idea of sleeping in a place that has a story in every nook and sings loudly of tradition then this is the place for you There are no elevators so if you have physical limitations that keep you from climbing stairs then you may want to reconsider this property If you are looking for “shiny and new”you should definitely reconsider There are no TV’s in the rooms either But if you love art, music, history and have a open mind then this is the place for you… I promise you will fall in love… the cherry on top is the beautiful garden and sitting areas and the birds are a huge part of the uniqueness that is The Gallery Inn Kudos to the owner Jan for creating an environment that takes you back in time and allows you to truly embrace Old San Juan in all its glory

A true 5 star The Gallery Inn is a true gem within Old San Juan We stayed in the family suite with another couple

The rooms had comfortable beds, the art was beautiful, and the roof top patio had amazing views of the ocean and the city The pool isn’t your traditional swimming pool and instead an artistic wading pool The outdoor areas were covered in vegetation and well maintained The attached restaurant had the best food we had our entire trip and the staff was friendly I hope to return here again and I would highly recommend
