From start to finish, our stay was phenomenal! The Christmas decorations were soooo beautiful Our room was unbelievably cozy and the fireplace was that touch that put it over the top The amenities and personal touches were just right

The breakfast quiche was delicious And that sauna?! Even chatting with the owners and the general manager was delightful We were so well attended Even though we all live locally, it was like being out of town without having to travel out of town Couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot for our girls weekend getaway My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer, but we will definitely be back soon!

Staying at Doone’s Inn at Oakmont was such a treat! The Inn is beautifully appointed and the rooms are spectacular! We took advantage of the warm, cozy fireplace and our only disappointment was that we were only staying there one night The dining room showcases so many personal and prized possessions and it was fun to look at everything during our delicious continental breakfast Glenn paid attention to every detail and made our stay extra enjoyable

Would highly recommend and hope to stay there again soon!

Wow So disappointedOur reservation, made months in advance, was changed without notice, leaving us short on rooms for a family get-together

Suites were dusty Wifi went down at one point Carpets weren’t clean Keys didn’t work Mattresses were saggy And, two credit cards were compromised after being left in a room for the dayCome on, Marriott You can do betterI’m giving it two stars because at least the manager and desk clerks were polite and tried to help

There is no way to describe how incredible this venue is! It is a family run business that gives 200% throughout the entire wedding weekend My son and bonus daughter hit a home run when they picked The Grand Estate Everything start to finish was perfect

So beautiful I am still pinching myself Thank you so much for giving Jake and Lakyn such an amazing and memorable experience I wish I could give you 100 stars!

The Grand Estate is everything we needed it to be and more The location was perfect The ease of having our wedding there was perfect

The family is amazing There is something about a family owned business that just makes everything better They have so much pride and history in their venue The treatment we received for the weekend we stayed was top tier They treated us like family and gave amazing advice about wedding plans and life itself If you’re looking for a perfect venue… look no further

Calsey Holshue

The Grand Estate is a venue like no other There is a completely different state of mind when getting to celebrate your wedding experience as a relaxing weekend We were able to enjoy the beautiful estate property in preparation for our big day

The staff is incredibly accommodating and made sure that even with a slight chance of rain we were prepared to have our rehearsal dinner indoor or outdoor as well as our ceremony We had a chance of sunshine during the time of the ceremony and nobody stressed out the bride about the possibility of rain but luckily we chose to have the ceremony outside and the sun shined through when we were speaking our vows We knew at that moment that we had the perfect wedding dayThe estate family works so hard to make every event go so smoothly Everyone who helps there is so kind and accommodating I enjoyed getting to know Jerrica and Tia throughout the process, they are so sweet and made sure we enjoyed our stay The chandeliers at this venue are iconic but the reception tent was always my wedding dream! We were even able to bring our antique car to park in the yard because this family has a love for classic cars just like us It was very special that we could have our family car there with us and the venue even had a garage space available for us to park it inWe look forward to coming back to the Grand Estate for an anniversary and for a reminder of where we said our vows We want to genuinely thank the Grand estate family for everything they did for us to give us such a beautiful and memorable wedding experience

My wife and I stayed here while we were in town for a wedding over Memorial Day weekend and loved our stay Our room was nicely furnished, extremely clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable The breakfast was delicious and filling, with several options to choose from- they will also serve breakfast outside on their outdoor patio weather permitting

We also enjoyed the complimentary wine in the evening (served 4-7ish on weekends), cheese boards, and tea This is all in the context of nice and welcoming service We had an issue with our shower drain, but it didn’t detract from our overall stay Overall, I would recommend as a great B&B

If you want to experience a ‘High Tea’, The Inn on Negley is a wonderful option This excursion was a birthday present for a friend Everyone had such a great time

So much so that they will most likely return in the winter to stay a few nights and enjoy all the perks the Inn has to offer They want to see how everything will be decorated for the holidays Everyone (especially our server Carol) was gracious, friendly and attentive I didn’t know what to expect and it was pretty fun Completely enjoyable experience The Inn is adorable and elegantly decoratedThe teas are delicious and there are so many to choose from, you can’t possibly try them all So cute

This is the one you want The staff was amazingly friendly, the room was very clean, and the process was just comfortable start to finishThe WiFi is capped at about 6mb, but it’s stable, so you’ll be happy if you’re the person hooking their laptop up to the TV for YouTube/Netflix

The breakfast isn’t worth it Go to the Burger King next door or Denny’s down the road if you don’t mind payingThere IS rail nearby, and I heard/felt it on the morning I left Pack a white noise machine from AmazonIt sounds like this was a mixed bag, but it really was great compared to other options in the neighborhood I’m sure there’s better/more expensive options in Pittsburgh, but this was close to the location of my meeting and I have no regrets whatsoever

Why was our stay great? Brandi! Your front desk, maintenance, hospitality, teaching, housekeeping, photography and asst manager Brandi took care of our every need from fixing broken lights, instructing us on TV and coffeepot usage, getting clean towels, making new keys (hourly?), and keeping that fire pit going! Stayed 3-4 nights with our kids and grands for family wedding, allcoming and going at all different hours Brandi helped us make this seamless

my husband said on the way home “I dont know what they pay her, but it’s not enough”The only thing she couldn’t fix was the unappetizing breakfast No hot eggs and meats anymore for Marriot customersjust prepackaged quiches and sandwiches served and heated in their wrappers, no cut fruit or yogurtjust green bananas, bruised wrapped apples, and tiny oranges Maybe you should hand one more thing to Brandi!

Stacy Craig

For a non smoking facility Our room stunk like old cigarette smoke I liked the room but the smell was over bearing

I’m glad it was only for one night stay I should have asked for a different room But, they looked like they were fully booked Our room was 405 If you reserve a room for here avoid that room Other than that the pool was warm and clean Breakfast was good also

We booked a block of rooms for our wedding The room was great, and the staff were helpful and friendly The bar closes fairly early, so we had to move our after-party elsewhere

If booking a block of rooms, note that a very steep fee is charged for unused rooms, and they are unwavering on it We had multiple cancellations in our block due to the travel issues and COVID, and these rooms were ultimately charged to our master account This policy is very different from other hotels in the area, so just be sure you can meet their minimum requirements I would definitely stay here again, but there are probably more flexible options for wedding blocks in the area

*Update to reply to the manager’s reply below*If you truly cared, you would actually call me back I’ve literally left 2 voicemails and my information with two other staff members, asking for a call back There is absolutely no excuse to not have called me back to resolve this

Baffling how a simple task such as shipping a small item back seems beyond your capabilitiesThe hotel itself was great, but the staff has been absolutely incompetent in following up with a simple lost and found request We let the front desk know we thought an item may have been lost in the hotel We received a call a few days later saying it had been found and to fill out a form on a website, which we did We then heard nothing I placed three calls to the hotel, leaving a message on housekeeping voicemail once and speaking with a front desk representative the other two times I never received a call back from anyone I filled out the form on April 3rd and finally received notice on May 23rd that they had my item (which we already knew) and to fill out a form for shipping The shipping rates for a hat and gloves are $37 at the cheapest and $54 for the most expensive, which is absolutely outrageous for an item to be shipped 3 hours in-stateI now cannot get through to anyone at the hotel and am on hold with Marriott customer service Incredibly disappointed in what should have been a simple request to ship items back to a loyal customer

Doug

The only place I will ever stay when I come to Pittsburgh is The Oaklander Gorgeous rooms, a beautiful rooftop bar and steps from many great restaurants My only gripe is the staff is 50/50 here

Sometimes you get super friendly people and other times they have been very standoffish but the rooms and views keep me coming back! Super friendly valet staff too!

Had my daughter’s wedding shower in the restaurant on the top floor Absolutely beautiful view We couldn’t open the windows or really utilize the outside space because of the weather but was still great

We had buffet lunch – 6 different small bites items and each was tasty Loved the cream cheese cucumber sandwich especially Lots of staff dedicated to us and everyone was very friendly and helpful

Brett Wilson

The location of this hotel is fantastic Hotel parking is valet only and it’s $25 We asked for extra towels when we checked in and never got them

We stayed in a deluxe king room The room was clean and nicely appointed, but small I shudder to think of what the micro rooms are like size wise I don’t know what size the bed was It was larger than a queen, but it definitely wasn’t a standard 76″ wide kingThe weeknight price wasn’t bad for the room But I’d drop dead before I’d pay what they’re charging for a weekend stay

Victoria Morningstar-Poole

I really enjoyed my stay here It was only for a night but I had wished it was for a bit longer afterwards There is so much to do around this hotel and get to experience from shopping to great food

My room was clean and had everything I needed I loved how nicely stocked the coffee and tea was I also thought it was nice they had a bottle of water supplied Everyone was so helpful and kind at the hotel and checkin was very easy as well as understanding the valet parking that is offered

The ice machines weren’t working so you had to have the front desk get you some from the Cafe The breakfast is made to order and is NOT included with your room cost Coffee and fruit are offered free however

The hot tub was out of order and the pool was too cold for my liking so we didn’t utilize that amenity Also the guest laundry feature was out of order Check out was noon and I was able to have a late checkout til 1pm without extra charge Beautiful back yard with large gas fireplace over looking the river made up for all the other things out of order though Very nice Service from staff was excellent

The Mainstay is truly a gem Our family reserves the entire Bed and Breakfast for our reunions, and Jim treats us like we are part of his own family The B+B itself is charming and comfortable, and Jim makes our experience perfect in every way
