Friendly staff made us feel very welcome and had helpful suggestions for food and fun nearby Very accommodating, and beautiful, serene setting Lots of activities to enjoy with the family/the pool, shuffleboard, campfires on the shore and kayaks were some family favorites

Surrounded by all sorts of birds, and lots of chances to unplug and enjoy nature The cabins were great, fully stocked with all basic needs, and then some, and our experience was delightful, especially our daily check in visits from Frank & his good buddyTucker Would recommend whole heartedly to anyone looking for a great place to relax Oh, and catching the sunsets in the adirondacks down on the shore is a must

C Rodgers

Overall our experience was very pleasantWe stayed in the Sunset Cabin near the officeThe cabin itself is rather dark inside, especially the downstairs bedroom

The largest beds were full size and at least a queen size would have made two person sleeping much more comfortable (kind of important for enjoying a vacation) The bottom sheets elastic was worn and I kept waking up (nightly from discomfort) and found myself laying on top of the mattressOther than that, we had a great time

We stayed for a week at Hobby Crest with our daughters, sons-in-law, and grandsons (ages 7 and 3) Such a wonderful place for all ages! Christy and Randy truly have a gift for making everyone feel welcome, like part of their family They are excellent hosts, very accommodating, and prompt & gracious in answering all our questions

We stayed in Captain’s Quarters, which was an excellent layout for our whole family, and right next to the playground! The boys loved swimming in the lake, jumping on the water trampoline, playing in the sand, and hanging out on the playground with the other kids at the resort We also rented their pontoon boat for a day and had a wonderful time The cabin was very clean and well-stocked with necessities The beds were comfortable too – I slept better here than I often do at home! The location of the resort is perfect too – walking distance to some of the Ludington State Park trails & dunes, a short drive to town, and is nestled in a beautiful wooded area Truly a slice of heaven!

Lori Boright

Our family of 4 truly had one of the best weeks enjoying the beauty and splendor of northern Michigan in the summertime at Hobby Crest Resort There was truly something for every member of our active family, that includes one tween and one teen The resort is well appointed with 2 beaches, a fun swim area, lots of space for activity and lounging

The resort location and ability to hike into Ludington State Park, especially at sunset, was wonderful! We took advantage of the pontoon rental and had a great day exploring Hamlin Lake and Ludington State Park from a one of a kind vantage point! The cabins are expertly crafted, well stocked with essentials, and very clean The owners are very friendly, responsive, and truly committed to providing a top notch vacation experience We are already looking forward to our return next summer Thank you Hobby Crest for EVERYTHING!

We have been visiting Ludington for years and only recently discovered this hidden gem We spent a memorable week with our daughter and 2 grandchildren in the Sunfish cabin The craftsmanship and attention to detail in the cabin is wonderful

Everything is new, fresh and current The beds were wonderfully comfortable We never tired of the view of Hamlin Lake Each cabin has a patio, a gas grill and a picnic table The well outfitted kitchen allowed us to enjoy meals as a family with the convenience of having everything we needed at our fingertips There is a brand new playground that the kids enjoyed every day One of the highlights of our stay was the ability to use the pontoon boat for two days The boat gave us the flexibility to visit the state park and experience the dunes in a new and memorable way We packed picnics and drinks and blankets for the dunes The grandkids are still talking about it I would highly recommend you add this experience to your stay Christy and Randy have created a wonderfully family oriented resort that we will definitely visit again in the future They are wonderful hosts focused on ensuring you have and build wonderful memories as a family

Under-impressed after reading all the raving reviews and staying there One of the reasons we booked this was the photos and raving reviews of the home made breakfasts, and wine tasting in the evening There was neither

You can’t cancel for a refund less than 72 hrs before stay, and we received an email 24 hrs before “sorry, we won’t have breakfast for you, but there will be muffins and coffee” We had a garden suite which was very clean, but it’s definitely a dated motel with uneven floors and a rose tub with a stained bottom One washcloth for two people On a bright note check in is easy They ask your name and hand you a key That’s it Check out easy Put your key in a bucket outside the door (I honestly felt they wanted very minimal contact with guests) The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable with a nice comforter We shared our room with several flies which was annoying, however Overall a fine place to rest your head for a night, but I felt almost $300/night was a bit much for what we got

Scott inelmgrove

WONDERFUL experience The hotel is adults only, and kids have to be 16 or older, but we saw none VERY quiet

Great Retro rooms with updates Very attentive staff tranquil setting Nice nooks to sit and read We were taking the SS Badger in the morning, and the hotel is just a few blocks away Nice breakfast in a mid-century dining room Would certainly stay there again and again

Kathy Schauer

We chose Summer’s Inn because of the good reviews and it advertises as a place to rest We were very happy with our accommodations The staff was very friendly and our room was very clean

We especially enjoyed the quiet park like setting with the koi pond and waterfallAnother bonus was the delicious freshly cooked breakfast We would definitely recommend!

We stayed 2 nights here and had a great experience The lady at front desk was very friendly and helpful Check in was speedy and the room and hotel was clean which was most important to me

Breakfast was a good assortment of hot food, bread, bagels, yogurt I also appreciated the 24/7 hot coffee available in the Cafe area My only complaint is that our bed was pretty firm so it was uncomfortable however the soft pillows were wonderful I will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area

Christopher Wilburn

The most important part of any Hotel in cleanliness and service This hotel had plenty of both Amanda made our check in super easy and was super friendly

Suite was a great set up for our family of 5 Clean on arrival Beds comfortable

Friendly staff Breakfast was typical but fine Only complaint is the whole hotel is very dark Bathroom set up was odd with water designed to leave shower stall and drain in a second drain in the floor in the bathroom Made floor very wet and slippery which would be especially dangerous for handicapped guest

Lyndi Ramos

I was absolutely surprised this was a Best Western It was clean, comfortable and had a great breakfast with the warm options of waffles or breakfast sandwiches The pool area was clean and the hot tub was also clean

I saw this area being cleaned by staff twice in our one night stay This location offers a playground, grills and patio area to hang out in We cooked out dinner and ate right outside This location is close to the beach and downtown Well worth the price

Liz Seeber

The room was clean, but cramped No counter space really in the bathroom Plus, there is a large window facing the hallway, and a tiny window facing the outside

Lots of hallway noise heard throughout the night from other guests The thermostat was not functioning and had a sign made from tape over it, indicating to use the wall unit Only half of the wall unit controls worked, and it sounded a bit unhinged when it was working The breakfast in the morning was mostly cold foods with an option for waffles BUT the location cannot be beat

Going again to Ludington this April This will be last place I stay Went last September 2021

Thermostat in room needed batteries we had to fix There a week, no one cleaned Garbage in hall Had to get own toilet paper and towels We understand no help but the price was the highest we ever paid The breakfast was hardly nothing It made us mad to pay more money for much less amenities We should of been paid for a week worth of house keeping and maintenance We walked by a no housekeeping sign on floor for a week We left it there just to see how long it look for someone to pick it up The workers there were worth less I have pictures, wish I knew how to posted them I hope it’s now better, but they lost our yearly stay

Wendy S.

Really clean, well maintained hotel Front desk receptionist was fantastic Dog treat bag was so thoughtful

I appreciate that! Great selection of breakfast foods Super attentive breakfast attendant We weren’t given a crummy room just cuz we had a dog Our dog is well behaved and well groomed so I don’t like how hotels give out the worst rooms to dog people Our room was just fine And the dog fee was super cheap — $10! I would highly recommend this hotel and definitely would go back

Mobile Notary Indiana

Excellent service, impeccably clean rooms and hallways, very comfortable beds, well maintained pool, arcade and kid spaces and delicious breakfast choices make this the very best value for your travel Their attention to detail reminded me more of luxury accommodations than the usual family value facilities This is a FIVE-star place for a much more affordable price!

NO POOL or HOT TUB Not sure if it’s a Covid thing, but these are “under maintenance” with no maintenance effort visible Room was smaller than expected based on Priceline description

If you book a stay here, it’s for the location only Very few amenities/services available No closet, just a small rack on the wall No bathtub, shower only No room service No iron or ironing board No microwave But you do get a partial roll of toilet paper! Room was clean, towels aplenty Hot water instantly in shower Proprietors are friendly and helpful

My husband and I have stayed here twice now Both times were a lovely experience We stayed in Room 1, we love the en-suite jacuzzi, the fireplace, and how spacious the room is

Bob and Ellen (the owners) are very sweet and attentive The decorations suit the style of the house without being over-the-top, like some bed and breakfasts Also, the breakfasts here are amazing! We like that the tables during breakfast are set up individually, so it’s up to you how much you interact with other guests or keep to yourself Great walking distance from downtown

Jill McKerr

My husband and I wanted to get away for the weekend, and we chose the Ludington House because it was so quaint Our hosts, Bob and Ellen were welcoming and accommodating We were on the third floor in the Wicker Room and our room was immaculate and very comfortable

The location is great and many attractions are within walking distance Our breakfast was made from scratch and was a gourmet delight! Our experience was very positive and we look forward to returning in the future

Rick Carlson

My wife and I have stayed at the Ludington House many times with our favorite room being the Rose room, which has a very nice shower and comfortable room Of the 10 or so different B&B’s we’ve stayed at in last 17 years Bob’s breakfasts, at the Ludington House, are the best Great flavor and hot

They also serve the best French Press coffee We will definitely be back again

I LOVE historic buildings, so this was a wonderful place for me My room was spotless and smelled fresh and clean The bed was firm, yet comfortable

The location was perfect! The only (minor) disappointment was that the “breakfast” was prepackaged muffins, and they don’t offer decaf coffee Also, the coffee is put away after breakfast Many other hotels and motels offer regular and decaf coffee all day longNot a huge deal I was able to purchase some decaf down the street and store some extra in the mini fridge for the next morningOverall, I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back

Jason Poeske

This place was great Easy to find and located perfectly for our trip Room was clean and comfortable

It was on the small side but we were not there to hang out in the room so it worked for us Staff was friendly All the decor was straight out if the past but well maintained Can’t stress enough how great this place was We would stay there again

Bill Frederick

This hotel is great Living in a 180 year old farmhouse it has the same decor The rooms are super clean and the beds are comfy

Because it’s old we never heard any noise as the walls are much better than other hotels You can’t beat the price and it’s close to everything We are having a house built in Ludington and we have been staying here on and off as it’s convenient and a nice hotel Highly recommend as it’s a different experience than staying in a chain hotel Nice staff as well

This cabin community is the perfect place for our extended family Some of the cabins are rustic, but it is clean and well kept and the hos family is welcoming and responsive It a a beautiful site overlooking Lake Hamlin and a short drive to the large city beach or state park, both on Lake Michigan

We also used the pool and playground extensively

Jason Struve

This is a quite family oriented resort in Ludington When I booked our cottage in February looking at their interactive map on the website it appears to be directly on the water, in fact we were under the assumption that we would be able to watch our kids fish from the porch of our cabin because the map makes it appear that way The first thing we noticed on arrival was there is a huge Clif that separates all the cabins from the water and there is no swimming on the water front they do own

So here is the goodFamily friendly,Gorgeous views, close to the city and state park, boat rental on premise, well maintained pool, clean laundry facility, beautiful sunset views and our cabin had a new shower We were in Cabin 20 the bad decor Is from the 50s-70s, mattresses are very uncomfortable, sleeps 8 but can only sit 5 in the living room, cable was horrible service, each cabin does not have its own fire pit so you have to make s’mores with strangers, the cabin sits on a slant so the doors swing open and shut on there own, there are drain flies and many spiders throughout the cabinOne of our outdoor chairs was broken, the fridge would leak on defrost, a random cat would come over, the window leaked when it rainedOverall it was a fun family experience and will probably stay again

Chose this place on internet because it looked cute No disappointment, it was cute, quaint and very clean Walking distance to downtown and just 2 blocks from the water

We were only there for 1 night, took US badger over to Wisconsin and it was perfect Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, it’s very nice, and manager Muriel is very sweet Will definitely stay here next time we are in the area

Katie Kovalenko

We stayed in the appartment on the second floor of the house My biggest point that it is totally not worth $230 a night especially off season It is spacy but everything is very old

Floors were squicky and kitchen floor was very sticky No napkins or paper towels There was a open glass bowl with something in the fridge probably left from someone TV is super tinyPros: Excellent location Close to EVERYTHING and just steps from the lake A lot of room for a family of 4Cons : Everything is very old Didn’t have the clean feelingThe bed and the floors are squicky Train horn woke is up every morning

J Talls

The woman I spoke with was incredibly nice and it’s closer to the beach, which is great as well But to show up on a hate day and to not even have the AC moon was a tough start following a long drive After turning on the window unit, it’s immediately clear it is not cold at all and barely blows on high

I’m very thankful I brought my fan or it would’ve been intolerableEverything in the refrigerator was frozen which took care of the leftover pizza we brought inThe bed was old, broken down, and uncomfortableI’m not sure we would ever stay there again unless in a real pinch
