BIG BOPPER

A review of my recent stay at the Eagle Nest Resort, Marco Island, FloridaThis was an exchange from our property on Key WestChecked in: July 22, 2022I give this resort only a One Star out of Five

My wife and I looked forward to visiting Marco Island and the Eagles Nest This was our first time staying in this area The resort itself is very nice grounds and building are well kept, although dated in some areas The rooms were clean, and the staff were very courteousSo why the poor review? This property is NOT handicap friendly Both my wife and myself are in our late 70s and have trouble walking I have a spinal problem, and my wife must use a cane because of a cancer issueI purposely called the resort after the original booking, and again just prior to the move in date I wanted to confirm the walking distance to the beach We do enjoy the beach, but I was concerned about our ability to walk the property Both times after explaining my concerns, I was assured it was just a “short walk”After we arrived and checked in, I found out the “short walk” was the equivalent of two football fields (Verified by google maps) Half the distance was through a long cobblestone courtyard with several short stairways to the pool area, and the other was across a vast beach area to the shore where chairs and umbrellas were available We actually tried walking to the pool area using the walkway stairs, but couldn’t chance going any farther onto the beachAfter check-in, I mentioned our concerns to the woman managing the elevator crowds, but was told nothing can be arranged, even if we were willing to pay for special accommodationsI could have made a different resort selection if only the staff member called was above board and open about the walking The only two attractions to this resort are the pool and beach For those that can easily walk, the property is great For us, we had virtually nothing to do but stay in our room, so we left after two days and headed homeOn other issues, the resort has two elevators, one of which has been out-of-order for a long time since January Prior to coming, we were made aware of this issue, but were told it would be repaired by June 2022 We are now going into August Being aware of the problem, and actually experiencing it are two different things Check-in was tedious since only a few new guest and carts could fit on the elevator at one time The wait time for the elevators was in many cases over 10 minutes each time Only one elevator for 70 units on 10 floors, we all tried to have patience There were no places to sit while waiting for our next turn on the elevator The daily experience was frustrating and back breakingAnother issue are the large 6 inch metal plates that go across the sliding balcony door Understandably they’re there to prevent rainwater from coming into the unit There are no caution signs on the glass, nor any notices Our first day there going onto the balcony focused on the ocean view, I almost fell tripping over the plate This is a serious tripping hazardFinally, only 3 handicap parking spaces available in the lot One was so covered by shrubs and bushes, it was impossible to useMy wife and I are fairly mobile, but considered this resort a real challenge Never again

Extremely satisfied with my experience touring the property It’s beautiful I’d like give recognition to a stand out employee/representative of your company

Lisa Seymour is a true professional and went above and beyond to ensure my experience would be a positive one She is detail oriented, patient and very personable I would definitely recommend Eagles Nest to friends and family

Jonathan Miller

This is a beautiful resort It’s so much better than going to a regular hotel We stayed in June of 2022

We stayed in a two-bedroom villa in the tower on the 10th floor You cannot be the view I didn’t realize just how much more ocean you can see from 10 floors up Then you can standing at the edge of the ocean on land Stunning The resort is also very pretty and very clean Staff is very friendly The location is perfect I highly recommend

I have never had an experience like this at a hotel before, I felt like royalty staying here Room service came at least twice a day, everybody was so friendly and accommodating The staff there is absolutely wonderful, always very helpful and informative

The view was wonderful, and I love the covered path all the way to the beach, with friendly little lizards on the way The pool was excellent, the bar being right there was perfect I have heard other hotels close by have good reviews as well but I have no desire to venture out I will be coming back to this hotel every time

Ken Miyakawa

The room have a nice view of the beach even is not right in front Is in a very close distance from the room to the beach loved the sand is white and very thin Many water sport activities to do like jet ski, para sailing, kayak and more

Also close by you can go to pick shells like the sand dollar I will recommend it for family trips and friends why not

vasquga30

Property is in need of TLC Elevators in parking garage were run down and dirty The actual building is elegant but is in need of some maintenance

Property is located in a very nice area of the beach on Marco Island Furthermore the beach is not very crowded in this area which is great Just 2 blocks north is the JW and Hilton and that area of the beach is really crowded If property were better taken care of this could easily be a 5* place

This place ended up being great for our family of 4 (including 2 toddlers) We booked the 2 bedroom It was great to be able to find an affordable option on the island

The room was clean and roomy Loved having the in room washer and dryer Had a nice lanai to hangout in the morning and evenings Pool was warm and great for the kids 5 min drive or less to several great beaches and restaurants Staff was very friendly Will definitely recommend and book again if we visit Marco Island again

John Hurley

DisappointingIf you want to feel like a deer on a lonesome highway with a pair of high beams coming at you- this is your place The light was so brigh outside of the bedroom window that it lit up the room with the blinds drawn

Even if the blinds were not broken there would have been no way to block out the light This could be easily fixed by adding some black out curtains or turning the rope light off that goes along the whole walkway

Toya Does It All

I give Marco island lakeside inn 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because the staff is amazing 🤩 but more overall the rooms are very very nice and cleannnnnn, the sheets are white and cleannnn the bed is extremely comfortable and the towels are very very white and cleannnnnn ❤️ you can also save some money buy cooking there because you have everything that you need in your room🤑❤️ overall for me I did not expected what I got for the price and I go all over the world and stay at high-end resorts, and hotels

There are so many rules at this property and I have never seen anything like this At checkout, you have to take out your garbage, run the dishwasher, and set the thermostat to a certain temperature If I wanted to do chores I would have stayed home

You are provided with a limited amount of toiletries and paper products – there is a sign directing you to the 7-11 should you need more The location was good and they had beach access

Greg N

Booked here last minute The front desk staff member Nora was very nice We booked a 2 bedroom condo and were pleased

That’s right, condo They do provide limited amounts of toilet paper, paper towels, tissues and soap, but do provide plenty of towels However, if you’re looking for room service and daily turn down service this is not the spot for youProperty offers plenty of parking, private access to beach (beach is a short walk across a very very quiet road), outside shower and hose to rinse beach equipment, short walk to dining and shoppingEvery room has a large balcony Our room came with smart tv and wifi, washer/dryer, full size fridge, electric range/oven and dishwasherI would stay here again

Katie Normet

Nice, clean, cute, well appointed unit Pool area is very niceWe thuroughly enjoyed our stay and would return

We stayed in 216 Talking to other guests, it seems that our unit was slightly nicer than othersWe would come again for sure! Definitely the right priceOnly reason I didn’t give a five star was because of the view We couldn’t see the ocean, but the beach is just a short walk across the road

What a great stay! Nigel and the rest of the staff were so polite and really bent over backwards for all the guests The pool is beautiful – always warm and clean 💙 the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked and had everything we needed for the week The free breakfast is not great, so we stocked our room and ate up there before heading out for the day

I also purchased coffee filters and our own coffee for the full size pots in the roomWe didn’t enjoy the coffee packs that were provided All in all I would absolutely stay here again! A modern and clean hotel for an affordable price 👍 Thanks Staybridge Naples team!

Alsa V.

Great family friendly hotel We stayed in a 2 queen room The rooms are spacious and could even fit a roll away if needed

The restaurant’s are great and the staff is so friendly The water slide pool is so fun for the kids The main pool is great too The only thing we didn’t like is people line up at 8am to save chairs at the kids pool with towels or personal items and then never show up We never had a problem finding chairs and an umbrella at the beach

Laurel F

They have the best beach access (and nicely manicured sand) The room was spacious, a nice sized bathroom for two The door didn’t always latch shut – so be sure to double check yours! The catered events had phenomenal food

The staff were helpful when there were questions The pool area is quite loud/full of energy If you are craving peace and quiet, try the quiet pool by the spa (they have rules to be quiet – no phone calls etc)! It would be great to have more affordable indoor meal options during the day A convenience store (and other stores/shops) within walking distance was a plus

Vanessa Velasquez

Every time I’ve stayed at this hotel, I’ve had a fantastic time! The pools are great and the beach isn’t too far of a walk It’s a very family orientated hotel so there’s many activities for kids to enjoy My only complaint is that there’s not an ice cream store on the resort

Overall, this is a great resort and I highly recommend staying at this hotel

Adam Heist

This place was clean, quiet, and beautiful The only negative thing to speak of was that during our five night stay, housekeeping never visited our room So by day three we had to set our now full trash bag outside and when I call the front desk no one answered and I was not able to leave a message so I went to the front desk and requested a new trash bag

But other than that issue we really enjoyed it and would recommend again

Ansley Odell

For the past 4 months, we have called Olde Marco Island Inn on average once every 2 weeks looking for information on a room block for our upcoming wedding We have also stopped by in person 2x Each time, we’ve received the answer that “the manager will get back to us” but unfortunately, that has never happened

We are Florida residents and used to live on Marco Island so we’re very familiar with this hotel and used to recommend it However, I have never had such bad customer service The last few times we called we just asked for an answer – a) the hotel does not do room blocks or b) yes and here is the informationMoral of the story – they obviously do not care about making money nor do they care about your time and hard work Shocking that it’s still in business when they’re treating people offering to spend thousands of dollars like this I can’t recommend this establishment to anyone What a shame

Todd Austin

Room was clean, A/C and hot water was goodOtherwise don’t expect anything else Advertised as a “Boutique” Hotel

There is 0 service available NO: Breakfast, Pool Drinks, Gym, Luggage Assistance, Front Desk Service, House Keeping, (though you will be charged for it)The pool was ok but the grounds are not well kept This place is ok if you are just looking for a place to sleepThere is more service at a Fairfield Inn so you should only pay a rate a Fairfield would charge

From the time we walked in to the resort, to the time we left, everyone made it the best stay The team there was so tentative and willing to assist in any way possibleThe resort itself was in great shape, the three bed two back we stayed in was very spacious and comfy

The pool and patio was clean and enjoyableWe rented a boat with the assistance of the front desk, and had docking just off of the pool deck on the canal just 10 minute boat ride the the gulfJust across the street there are three great restaurants and boutiques in walking distance and groceries next doorA great 5 min shuttle ride right to the beach area Thanks for a great stay

Wim Harris

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay We had a 3 bedroom with full kitchen, laundry, and a deck Downstairs the kids loved the air hockey, table tennis, and outdoor pool!! It kept them busy while we could relax and enjoy some rays!!!! Grocery store is right next door so that was very convenient

Hotel has bikes you can use so we biked to a local mini golf place and to the stores to do some shopping Everything was close and very easy to get to Hotel shuttle drove us to Tigertail beach, gave us lawn chairs to use and picked us up when we were done Great place to stay!!!

Ava Gnecco

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at! The staff is so accommodating and they provide anything and everything you could need! Free beach chairs, coolers, beach toys, bikes and more that you can rent for the day The pool is right on the marina (not on the beach but the view is still gorgeous) and the rooms are so clean! The game room is also one of the great amenities along with the free beach shuttle service! Highly recommended this hotel my stay here was one of the best with no flaws!

This is the 1st time I have used my unit since I have owned it for over 30 years I usually let a family member use it It was absolutely wonderful

It is so relaxing sitting on the dock and watching the dolphins go by The rooms were comfortable The staff is very friendly and accommodating The only problem is that they let a scuba diving company used the pool I believe on weekends and a keeps the guests from using the pool until they leave It is usually for a couple of hours Other than that it was a wonderful week at sunrise Bay

Sebastian Kukla

This is my 30 year anniversary of coming to Sunrise, my parents are owners, we are owners and now our kids have been coming here every year since they were born The private dock with a covered shelter into the river is unique on the island and there are multiple loungers, two picnic tables and chairs You can fish, sun, or just watch wildlife and boats being in the middle of it all

There is no better place to read a book and only steps away from the condo All the water of a beach without the sand in the nether regions The property has been meticulously maintained by the same manager, Paula for all those years The balconies overlooking the pool and the river are a great spot to eat breakfast and watch the sun rise There are multiple dolphins per day to see, manatees in season, rays, pelicans and we even had an osprey eating a fish in the palm tree over the pool The rooms are one bedroom, two baths King bed and en suite bath plus queen pull out couches with nice mattresses The -01 units are larger with a second pull out queen There is a pontoon boat available for occupants at the dock plus 5 additional slips if you bring your own There are only 20 units with Max four people (6 in the 4x 01 units) so if you value privacy this is the most private set of f condos on the island Less than three blocks walk through everything from dive bars that the best restaurant in the island

First time visiting Naples, I booked this place for a weekend getaway for my wife’s birthday Everything is pretty much within walking distance The rooms are clean

The host is very atentative If needed they have a golf cart that is used to drop-off and pick-up there guests from the beach (long as you’re with the hours of business operation) I would definitely stay here again as a couples getaway

Louis Dunezat

Fantastic place Nicely refurbished motel The feel of a 1950’s road motel with the aesthetics of an upscale boutique hotel

Keble, the owner, took very good care of usThe offer is very generous: complimentary parking, washer and dryer, beach chairs, towels and umbrellas The best hotel of our 2-week trip across Florida!

Alia Mohsen

Our four-night stay here was wonderful! The Inn is in the ideal location — right near 5th Ave, the beach and Old Naples shops and restaurants We parked our car (for free!) and walked everywhere! Beyond this, Keble and his wife (and the lovely staff) were incredibly accommodating They provided beach chairs, towels, water bottles, an umbrella, a cooler and even golf cart rides to the beach! They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable

The rooms were large, comfortable, well air conditioned, and clean We also loved having a small kitchenette to make sandwiches for the beach and pre-dinner cocktails This will be our go-to place whenever we stay in Naples Thank you for the hospitality!

This isn’t a four star resort There is no room service available There is only a small food/drink service cart at their beach

Rooms are sparsely furnished and decorated Rooms have zero soundproofing between neighbouring rooms or the hallway Signs posted throughout the building are printed on computer paper and taped up instead of real signage, menus at the single restaurant are old, folded and with peeling lamination Bar staff could be either downright snotty or nice depending on the server We paid for “ocean view” and received a partial view only The beach umbrellas were coming apart at the seams, sometimes with loose pieces dangling from all sidesBut the housekeeping staff kept the room immaculate, and the location is nice Front desk staff was polite and it was easy to check in/ check outDefinitely not worth 800 dollars a night, and more accurately could be listed as a two or three star place Based on this stay I will not be choosing a Hilton property again

Colin Davis

I felt compelled to send a review as myWife and I are not the “causal” Marco island vacationers, but had to save and plan for our vacation here So from our perspective itHas been top notch Wait staff has been patient and accommodating

Dinner at the in houseRestaurant has Been great and they were super attentive (weekday stay FYI) Beach access and set up was very easy and simple as long as you’re good at Reading and following directions Drink carts were a bit inconsistent but seriously…walk to the hotel if it’s not coming around I get everyone will cite the price but I was seriously happy with service, attentiveness, and overall costumer engagement Can’t speak to any services in the facility as we didn’t use them 10/10 please do your homework

Demi Aloisio

Highly would not recommend staying at this hotel For spending 500+ a night, you would expect a high quality hotel Not the case at all

Upon arrival there wasn’t any bell hop, then we check in and the lady at the front desk states there is a “$35 charge per day for beach towels and chairs” even if you don’t go to the pool/beach I ordered chicken tenders by the pool and they came out soggy and not cooked all the way and the fries were cold and stale when I sent them back to have them cooked more the lady came back and said “the cook said that’s the best they could do” and kind of brushed it off like it wasn’t a big dealif they weren’t almost $20 I wouldn’t care but come on Everyday room service didn’t clean our rooms till past 4pmtried getting clean towels sent to the room, they didn’t show up till an hour and a half later, so I ended up using my dirty towels (which were hard – when they were clean) again so I could make my dinner reservation on time The only reason why they are getting 1 star was because of the beach guys at the hut-(especially Sergio), the waiting staff and the guy who cooked my omelette at the buffet (he was actually my favorite-super nice and friendly) The spa was the highlight of my trip, the guy at the front desk was SO NICE The hotel location was nice but the room seemed old and dirty, things were not even wiped down in the bathroom No room service was available- said if I wanted something, to walk down to the barjust please believe me and all the other people that left honest reviews Don’t waste your money here Not worth $500+ a night at all Super disappointed

My family and I loved this place and would recommend it to anyone traveling with kids The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 was because of the Concierge I reached out to the hotel 2 weeks prior to my visit in order to book boat tours, pool cabanas, etc

They told me not to worry about it and just book when I arrive When I arrived, I was told all cabanas and boat tours were filled up We were all very disappointed Otherwise, it was a great stay!

We enjoyed the spacious 2 bedroom/2bath condo It was a very nice home away from home Having a full kitchen, 2 livingrooms, and enclosed balcony over looking the golf course was great

The master bedroom has a king size bed and the 2nd bedroom as 2 single beds The single beds were very small for adults but we made it work For our party of 3 adults, it was almost perfect We also had a washer/dryer too We stayed in unit 324 The location was great because its close to both Naples and Marco Island We plan to come again in the near future

Update: If I could give zero stars I would, waited on a so called Manager-Samantha to respond to our plight since she was not available on the day of the incident-July 4th, imagine they had to one in charge on a holiday to assist guests…we arrived home and I called her the next day, she showed no compassion or empathy for us, never apologized and seemed to be more concerned about my REVIEWS, when I asked her if she was aware of our situation, she responded by saying, she was, she couldn’t miss all my reviews I posted, I told her I was prompted to by the extreme dangerous situation we were faced with and we had no assistance from their office and at the time I wrote how I felt from my heart and the circumstances surrounding us, I explained everything that happened to her and Samantha said she would look into it

She called my son on the following day, which is today and said there was nothing she could do, she mentioned my REVIEWS AGAIN…CASE WAS CLOSEDWe paid a lot of money to stay at Green Links, this whole situation was very deplorable, I’m very upset and disheartened at the same time that no action was taken, black families like ours should be treated better and be respected!!I hope this will prompt the Owners, Managers and Staff to make the necessary changes and training
