Great location, amazing service and an overall beautiful stay The inn is vintage and very clean; antiquated in some areas, but to be expected and enjoyed Free appetizers and wine in the evening, free breakfast in the morning

There was something wrong with the radiator in our room, so management gave us a free upgrade to one of the top-tier rooms The two men working on 4/16/22 (James and Jeremy I think?) deserve a raise — their service was THAT good!

H G

Comfortable weekend stay, loved the views and atmosphere of the property Yes, the rooms were “dated”; they’re meant to be and worked just fine Great breakfast service! Parking in the hotel lot can get a little crowded, but you can also park on Ocean View, or even on 4th – there’s a side door with keypad access into the hotel courtyard

Greg Weir

Our room had a perfect view of the waves crashing against The Rocky Shore As we sat with our complimentary wine and snacks four deer came up to the window and ate the grasses in the yard Along the shore there were sea lions basking in the sand

We were told they were just about to give birthThe common area on the first floor also has a very wide view of the sea A big breakfast made to order with table service was served there with fresh baked muffins or Apple bread every morningIt’s a charming Victorian home built in 1899 , furnished with antiques a billiards table and even a grand pianoA Pedestrian/ bike path leads to downtown or Cannery row and in the other direction is a monarch butterfly refugeThe stack seem to always be available to help us with anything we needed It was a very charming and romantic three nights stay

We are finishing up a 20 day west coast trip We stayed at Marriott’s the entire time – of varying quality and brand This SpringHill was lovely and about mid way through our trip

The staff was friendly and the rooms were big, clean and updated (hotel looks new) The hotel is a bit off the beaten path from Monterey but a good location for an overnight and nearby many box shops as well

M C

Some confusion at check in was really upsetting especially with a cranky toddler on your hands… check in was at 3… we arrived at 4 and was told a 45 min wait… hotel front desk said our room wasn’t ready I said well I’ll take a complete refund and I’ll get outta here… 5 minutes later and what do you know our hotel was “ready??? “ seemed suspicious I’ll sitck to Monterey bay inn

I was excited to stay here after booking with a very nice gentleman on the phone who was very helpful in my room choice The property is lovely, the view is beautiful, the beds and pillows were comfortable, and the staff are very nice and welcoming It’s first come, first serve, on nearby street parking

They have 3 very small parking spots on-premise, but my large Tesla wouldn’t fit in one I was very disappointed to learn no one would help me with my bags If you’re paying over $700/night all in, you expect valet service, even if they cannot enter your room given their COVID protocol Also, you’ll not receive maid service, which they state on their website and let me know when checking in My room appeared clean at first glance; however, I noticed hairs on the bathroom floor in numerous places that were not my color/size (and I hadn’t been in the bathroom at that point) and also hairs on the left sitting chair by the window There were enough hairs on the bathroom floor/baseboard that I felt like it just hadn’t been cleaned properly and didn’t feel comfortable taking a shower the next morning I went to the complimentary breakfast the next morning and was not impressed For the high prices they charge for rooms, you expect higher standards I checked out early and wasn’t asked if I enjoyed my stay or anything else I believe they might have generated an auto text after I left, but that’s really not the same as being personally asked I left very disappointed and felt overcharged for what I received

Trish Equinoa

This place is wonderful! The grounds are very well maintained and the accommodations are so comfortable The location was perfect, it was about a 20 minute walk to Cannery Row from the inn which goes by fast because the walk is so easy and gorgeous We came here to get away for the weekend and I couldn’t have come home more refreshed

It was exactly what I needed 😊❤️

Jim Hytken

Superb bed and breakfast More like a very small intimate hotel The room that we stayed at was right next to very good street parking so we only had a few steps to get to get to our room

PROs:Well furnished room with upscale decorationsNo TV (relaxing)Excellent staff and helpfulBeautiful groundsOutstanding full breakfastMuch better than any hotel I have visitedWalking distance to restaurant and running walking pathCONs:No TV (if you really want one)Small room (but perfect for a couple)A bit priceyStreet parking for the most part (easy parking though)All in all worth a return visit if I’m in the area

Stayed at The Old Monterey Inn over this last weekend with my husband for a romantic getaways from our busy day to day Arriving at the inn I felt like I was transported to another world The grounds are spectacular and the inn itself is stunning

There was ample parking and the inn is away from any main roads making it quiet and peaceful We stayed in the Dovecote room on the third floor and the room was stunning From the ivy covered window to the cozy bed the whole room felt so welcoming and peaceful The breakfast each morning was delicious and delivered right to our room The Innkeeper Wendy was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed I highly recommended staying at this beautiful inn

Greg Wheeler

Where to start? That’s easy Wendy, the manager, was stupendously gracious in making us, my wife Linda and me, welcome and getting us set up in our room The inn is old and well kept – again to Wendy

The gallery does a nice job of giving you a picture of things The gardens are great to walk around and a fantastic place to have the daily wine and cheese – thanks again Wendy Breakfast in the dining room was definitely something to write home about – one of the best we’ve had, and we have stayed at a lot of inns So what can I say? If inns are your thing (even if they are not), a stay at the Old Monterey Inn will be utterly enjoyable!

E Tadeo

A must stay if you are plan to visit the Monterey Bay area Charming with an old world style, this quaint bed and breakfast is a great place to stay after a busy day of touring the area It is centrally located to Carmel, Pacific Grove and downtown Monterey

The Inn is tucked away from the hustle and bustle There grounds are perfect to have afternoon wine and cheese, read a book, have a cup of tea or just watch the deer that visit The cozy common area is a nice place to read a book by the fire when the Monterey fog rolls in The rooms are pleasantly decorated and comfortable The breakfast was tasty and filling and just the right amount to start you off on your day of adventure Wendy, the Inn keeper is kind and friendly She is truly the hidden gem of the Inn

Valet Parking : $45/ DayRegular parking 1 block away : $35/ DayStaff: Super friendly ! Very welcoming 👍🏻Location: is amazing! A lot to do within walking distance Bars, restaurants, great view, the aquariumHighly recommended, the hotel over all was very clean, the room was impeccable very nicely arranged

Will definitely be coming back Came for a conference and the conference rooms are great! The food they served was also very good 👍🏻

A R (Golfpilot)

Feels like a holiday inn with a good location with the Intercontinental brand and price slapped on top Everything here has its caveats Staff is friendly, but there isn’t enough of them

Restaurant is good, if you can get a reservation There is a spa, but it’s probably not open The room is nice, but it’s dated at least 5 years and it’s wear showsUnable to get room service Here 3 nights One day they promised it between 9-11 and showed up at 3 while we were in the roomTried to make a reservation for the restaurant 2 days in advance and we were told they were booked, but we could do room service “it comes from the same kitchen”The bed mattress is worn, not a great sleep Bathroom cabinets are water damaged and calcium deposits on the shower headAll these things are fine for a low end 4 star hotel But expect more at an intercontinental

Kim Owen-Cravy

We’re been to this hotel 2 times The first time was just a night and we had to force ourselves to leave the next day to make another reservation in another town We came to Monterey early this time so we can stay 2 nights this time

The ocean view rooms with balconies are AMAZING! The rooms are gorgeous and very clean and every staff, including cleaning, are very friendly and helpfulFrom our balcony, we’ve seen lots of otters, pelicans, and other birds We’ve also seen whales and seals The sound of the waves is very relaxing… hard to get motivated, but that’s the point of this vacation! Lots of great, nearby eating places that are in walking distance

You should stay at this B&B Don’t bother with the overpriced hotels on the waterfront This quiet themed hotel was an amazing experience

They serve a wonderful breakfast and “Jabberwock” juice every morning on the Sun porchThe atmosphere is relaxed and almost dream-like You can play bocce in the garden or read in the den with complimentary brandy I would give them a sixth star if I could

Marisa Smith

Wow! Amazing! This place is ridiculously charming between the whimsy decor and the beautiful property The inn keepers did an amazing job taking care of the guests and the owner was kind and welcoming Everything had a magical touch

A lively yet cozy place for a short getaway Loved the amount of seating and lounge spaces My room was comfortable and spacious

I appreciated how close the hotel is to Carmel and Pacific Grove When we needed anything in our room, the service by staff was great They were warm, attentive, and quick Plenty of activities to keep yourself entertained hereThe only area for improvements is cleanliness of the lobby where the space is shared with all guests The water dispenser with fruit in the lobby was rarely filled during our stay, but there are other water stations around the hotel to fill up water bottlesAnother perk: From what I saw, it’s also a very family-friendly place

Rose Y

This location has been our quick weekend getaway for about twenty years Before Covid, it was in desperate need of updates, everything looked so outdated (but we still loved the staff, food, service and the amenities) It was such a pleasant surprise to see it completely remodeled

From the bedrooms, to the lobby/ restaurant/ coffee bar… We loved the cleanliness, the staff, food and just about everything about this hotel Beautiful fire pits, pools, golf course, table tennis and so many other things for people of all ages to enjoy As always, we loved our stay

Athan Rebelos

We had a great couple of nights in in mid December The weather was stormy, which we anticipated but our room along* the golf course was was attractive, clean and comfortable The staff was excellent

Check in was pleasant and accommodating We are and drank throughout our stay at the resort, the bartender was wonderful and we loved all the fire pits We enjoyed the hot tub furthest from the lobby, it’s more secluded and there were no childrenOverall we had a refreshing stay and would recommend this resort to anyone who just wants a comfortable and refreshing break

If you are looking for a nice ocean view, don’t stay here All you hear is very loud road noise, no ocean waves even at night You have the view of a little lake/pond beyond the busy road below and a tiny bit of the ocean in the distance

For $350 per night on a Monday, it’s not worth the money The shower curtain does not fully contain the water so you will have an additional pond on the floor Oh, and don’t slide the pocket door all the way closed in the bathroom or you won’t get out It gets stuck I wanted to sit on the balcony and enjoy the “view” but it was just too noisy and I don’t mean crashing waves And the coffee in the room was stale and nastyagain at $350 per nightnoThe breakfast was good but again the coffee not representative of what one would expect for $350 per night The customer service was impeccable and the room was clean and comfortable but I can get that at a Hampton for way less money I’m thankful for the excellent customer service which is non-existent these days as the front desk rep took us to see the potential upgrade before upgrading It was a downgrade for me unless I had a few more people with me and needed two bedrooms The view was non-existent

Visiting the aquarium and expected to pay up for weekend rates because of the area Experienced pros and cons hereBooked two separate 2 double beds with pullout sofa for party of 10

All double beds were terrible and sunk in like a deep valley in the middle One suite didn’t have the security latch to stop door from opening in, while the other did Pullout sofa is fine for kids, not adults Weak water pressure for showers but the water was hot Loved the extra air purifiers in rooms inlight of the pandemic but don’t know how well maintained they were as far as changing out filters Ac worked wellFree parking and breakfast buffet as expected from Embassy Suites Big, open parking lot is a plus Staff bussing tables and dishes were awesome and quick at cleaning tables and clearing dishes They deserve a raise Plenty of food at buffet consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, apple, and orange Coffee drinkers in my group all said the Starbucks branded coffee was weak and watery Love the Minute Maid juice machine, especially the passion fruit juice Breakfast buffet seating is limited with our group size and avoid 8-9 am if you want a seat even if you have a smaller party Made to order omelettes, eggs and pancakes was a long wait with 12 people in front of me Both cooks were great and got all of the orders correct Management needs to provide more help with the rush It wasn’t worth the wait as my party had to wait for me to finish eatingOn side note, Hotel staff should either tell guests or have signs that show buffet setup has 2 serving lines Everybody was lining up on inside line with the bread facing the seating area but there was another serving line with the dry cereal and hot oatmeal that was completely empty I happened upon it while wandering around after my party had already got food and sat down to eat

Update: I’ve been here for over two weeks I haven’t seen the homeless issue again since the manager dealt with it That’s good enough for me

Really enjoyed my stay We were here for our work and anniversary Happy memories made Adding a star for management dealing with the homeless issue************Original ReviewPros: I’m currently staying here Mostly, it is great The customer service at the front desk is top of the line Excellent buffet breakfast also with omelets and avocado toast (certain days), and fresh pancakes made to order The chef, Jose, goes the extra mile to get the omelet perfect for me The rooms are nice They have chromecast so we can watch our channels and recordings from home From some rooms one can enjoy the ocean viewCons: Last night, a homeless person parked their basket between the two sets of glass doors and he was sitting in the main area and employees were permitting it We walked in and I started gagging and gagging from the stench I have a very sensitive stomach to bad smells He’s the same guy who looks into our vehicles in the parking lot There are a few other homeless who hang around the front entrance and parking lot, too Very unsafe for women or children to be alone I am very disappointed this is permitted I want to feel safe here and not gag when I walk in the front door

I absolutely loved this hotel for our trip! I studied a LOT of past reviews to get a sense of what to expect and I’m glad I did: The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable If you can upgrade, I recommend it Our room fit a very comfortable bed and a stunning bathroom and it was PERFECT for me and my partner

There wasn’t a fridge which I expected, so I brought an ice chest which carried us over There is no AC, but you don’t need AC at the beach! If you are okay with noise (which we were), you can leave the windows open and feel cool just by that Breakfast was fantastic, and the staff were just as great I appreciate all the help, and will return here next time we are in Monterey It was an easy walk downtown or to Cannery Road 10/10

Caribou John

We spent 2 nights in the 1110 and it is a great hotel The staff are very helpful and communicative The breakfast was a highlight of the stay, we tried the pancakes, the scrambled eggs and the musli They were delicious

We also had dinner and drinks on the roof bar, the food was great again and competitive with other places The hotel is definitely on the way up and can only get better in my opinion Would definitely book again

My first time in Monterey and I could not have been happier Staying at Hotel 1110 was perfect, easy to get to and located in a great area full of things to do and see The room was cozy and gave off a really good vibe, I felt so at home staying here

The people were just fantastic and the food was better than most hotels I’ve stayed at in the past Be sure to have a drink at the bar with others staying there and you’ll also enjoy great conversations

We had a fantastic two night stay at the Gosby House Inn We initially weren’t sure what to expect but when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised with our accommodations The staff was incredibly friendly and the place had a very charming vibe

The room we stayed in was the Victoria Albert which was spacious enough for a couple and had a decent sized bathroom as well Everything was clean when we arrived Every day, there’s a breakfast served in the common area, consisting of an egg based dish, plus plenty of other options including yogurt, granola, fruit, pastries, toast, and more Both mornings we had the breakfast, it was delicious and we were happy we stayed for it There’s also complimentary wine and cheese served each evening, as well as sodas and sparking water There is also plenty of free parking around the inn on the side streets with no meters and we never had any trouble finding any spots Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend the Gosby to anyone visiting the area

We enjoyed our time at the quaint and historic Gosby House Our room was small yet cozy, on the first floor near the kitchen It wasn’t ideal for sleeping in, but was quiet throughout the non-breakfast hours

The bed was comfortable, as well as the linens and pillows I also loved the window seat!Plumbing is definitely on the older side, so don’t be alarmed by the noise if you turn the facet on a certain way Everything was clean except the floor itself- while walking around barefoot, I had to dust the dirt off my feet before putting on my shoesTheir wine and cheese hour with cookies was a nice addition, and their breakfast was also well done I love the cookies, granola, egg dishes, banana bread, and muesli I wish there had been chocolate chip cookies, French toast or pancakes one of the days we were there, but I digressThe staff are very kind and friendly, and explained everything well They also have a fridge in the front room with complimentary soft drinks and water, and you can store and leftovers you might haveOverall, nice experience, but it could use some improvement to earn an additional star I’ve been more impressed by bed and breakfasts with similar price points in Santa Barbara, CA

We stayed in the TA Work Room It’s definitely a cozy room, but we managed to stash our luggage in the closet and dresser so we had room to move around freely I was really worried when I couldn’t find any pictures of the bathrooms on the website or in other reviews, but it was larger than I expected and more modern

Everything was clean and housekeeping visited our room each day to freshen up and replace towelsThe breakfasts offered a variety of items with an egg and another hot item each day (pancakes, french toast, or potatoes) We also enjoyed the cheese, snacks and wine in the afternoons They have filtered water available all the time as well as some other options in a mini fridgeThe location was convenient and within walking distance of the beach, shops and restaurants We also walked to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, it was a little over a mile but pleasant nonetheless We really enjoyed our stay and loved the area We plan to go back!

We were there for a three day board meeting for my husband’s work and we’re very happy with the hotel Helpful and friendly staff The hotel is located in downtown with a quick five minute walk to the Wharf

Quite a few shops and restaurants within walking distance We had three dinners there that were catered by the hotel and the food was EXCELLENT! We did have a challenge with the air conditioning in our room and they sent someone up immediately

This was honestly one of the best Marriott Hotels I have ever been to The property is so cleanly and the staff is very friendly They greeted us with a couple of complimentary water bottles and had a few extra water bottles waiting for us in the hotel room itself (you would be charged for these things in other hotels)

They gave us some great recommendations on places to eat and things to do The hotel itself has great amenities including a gym and outdoor pool area Thank you for a great experience and if you are headed to Monterey – stay here! The hotel is walking distance from so many great restaurants and other attractions Walking distance to the beach as well!

First impression was jaw dropping! Beautiful and comfy lobby with spacious hang out spots, the staff is VERY accommodating, even the janitors on site were so sweet The room was very clean and cozy, our favorite was our private patio with the ocean view! Lots of activities during the day then at night we sat around the bonfire as we watched the sunset with other families! The restaurant on site was perfect, we got a lot to eat/drink and there was nothing we didn’t like! It was all great! Woke up to breakfast in bed before we put an end to our mini vacation We have found our go to spot! We never even had to leave the property everything you need is on site

We will be looking into having our wedding here 2023💗

Absolutely LOVE this place! This was my boyfriend and my second stay here The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly Rooms are private and well kept

Their cottages are very intimate Love the robes in the rooms The dining at their restaurant Salt Wood is exceptional! 10/10 recommend this place it is forever going to be our romantic getaway spot Thank you for our wonderful experience!

My husband and I were married here right on the beach, so it will always be a special place for us We’ve been looking for an opportunity to get away this summer, but with conflicting work schedules and family commitments, we are only able to stay one night The property is undeniably beautiful

We enjoyed the escape from the heat of the value and the views of the beach I love how they do fire pits on the beach each night Our room itself was fine Next time I think I’ll go for the suite because the room was a bit small for my liking I don’t like that there are not thermostats, so it’s difficult to keep a consistent temperature The bath tub was extremely slippery, but it did look as if there was a nonslip mat provided We did have one major disappointment My husband and I love a good, hot tub This is a huge thing we look for when traveling At home we keep our hot tub around 102° comfortably When we arrived in the afternoon, the hot tub was an okay temperature maybe a little cold for our taste, but when we decided to go again later in the evening it was a miserable experience The “cottages” are quite spread out, and it was freezing that evening! We fast walked our way to the hot tub and got right in only to realize the hot tub cool to the touchprobably around 85° Now soaking wet we froze our a**es off getting back to our room We were super disappointed and cold! In the morning I called to the front desk to double check that we didn’t go in after hours by mistake and to make sure it was hot in the morning They said it was good to go, but when we checked in the morning it was still cold 🙁 That was a huge bummer for us I’m not sure if it was a maintenance issue or if the cold outside weather and windchill was making it too cold Regardless, paying $500 for a basic room should at least include a hot tub that can stay hot I’d love to come back for the views and memories, but honestly, I probably won’t unless they fix the hot tub issue

The website is a bit deceiving (may be old pictures), however my friend & I stayed in the back house so not sure about front house rooms It was clean but boring, old ugly furniture and we had to take cold showers in the morning We were not happy about that! We were excited and couldn’t wait to see this old vintage house but it was just a disappointment, expected more for price

The breakfast was good but nothing fancy Will not be staying there again I was also told money wouldn’t be taken out until check out but it was before we even got there Oh another big issue, no parking for guest and if you park on front street all night was told we’d get a ticket

I had very bad experience here, I haved called and booked the room, the receptionist took all the details including my credit card details When i went to check in she said the room that i booked was given to other couple and she said she confused which is silly because when assigning the room she has to check id, when she realized tat she made mistake she has to atleast inform me that room was sold out, i drove 2 hours to stay there 😭

This place is charming but not necessarily comfortable We were in the “Jennifer” room Think it said partial ocean view which was a stretch

The TV sits on a small table and is so low that if you watch in bed your feet obstruct the view The toilet paper requires a bit of contortion to reach and the step into the shower might be problematic for some (as might the narrow, steep stair cases in the Inn) The site where we booked said free parking but it is on street parking not a dedicated lot Staff and location were fine

Incredible view, so relaxing! We had a wonderful last minute trip here We were able to slow down, watch the sunset, spot otters from our room, and enjoy the fireplace! 10/10 would recommend to locals and tourists alike It was also thoughtful that they had a microwave in the common room so we could heat up food we brought with us!

Dock Holiday suite Comfortable beds Great water pressure

Great kitchenette (with full sized fridge and oven/stove) Very very very clean The couches are beautiful, but not comfortable for long-term lounging, but that’s OK because there’s a bunch of cool stuff to go do/eat/look at Easy to go get to, central to everything Nice owners/staff AMAZING landscaping Would definitely stay here again

This place was really amazing! A quiet inn in a quiet fishing town Very relaxing We stayed in Pelican Beach

Having a view from our room to the Salinas River was great All sorts of wildlife to enjoy including seals, otters, pelicans, and other birds Binoculars were provided which was fun The bed was nice, I slept really well No shower, but there was a shower hose in the large tubI was a little concerned that there was nobody onsite, but it ended up being a non-issue I was able to communicate with management via text with any questions that came up They were very responsiveSome snacks were provided free in the shared dining area But otherwise, we had to go to the nearby restaurants which were very close Just note that everything is closed by 7pm, so don’t plan to walk to a restaurant after thatOverall, this was a really great place to stay and we’ll hopefully come back Thanks!

I always read reviews in anything I purchase, whether they are things, services or hotels The rating on this hotel is high and the the reviews were accurateThe staff were very professional but warm and welcoming

You have the ability to choose your room and they will provide you with the floor planThe hotel was very clean, the lobby, hallway and your roomThe location of the hotel is great! You can walk to the Fisherman’s Wharf (about a mile one way) and 25 miles to the Cannery RowFood at the restaurant Pacific Grille) was good

Hotel is in good location, easy access to near by attractions Rooms are okay, clean, a bit old and nothing special Parking is 15$, continental breakfast (very limited choices, just bread and cereal) is 10$, menu breakfast is 16$

Customer service is poor, no special preferences to gold member in terms of the accommodation, upgrades, connecting rooms etc even after putting a special request before coming in I understand rooms are sold out, but I requested connecting room 2 days before coming in, and they didn’t put any effort in accommodating that I would suggest to check-in in hilton honors app and select rooms of your choice upfront and don’t rely on staff for any special accommodations
