We had a great time visiting the Switzerland Inn The Inn is well kept and clean The staff couldn’t have been friendlier

We stayed in one of the main lodge mountain view rooms, the room was clean and the king bed was comfortable The view from our private balcony was excellent We dined at the on site Chalet restaurant, the service was excellent and the Prime Rib was fantastic This is a hidden gem and we will certainly visit in the future Highly recommended

This place continues to impress us Have been in 4-5 times now for dinner or drinks when in Little Switzerland and it is always a tremendous experience The food is consistently quality (halibut is unreal), beer/bourbon/cocktails are great and the property is really impressive

We love to have dinner in the pub and then hangout at the fire pit A+ experience every time Thank you for providing this experience in LS!

Aubry Mears

My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay! We stayed in one of the little cottages that one of the staff informed me used to be the tea house long ago Every staff member we came across greeted us and we’re so friendly The views were incredible, the food was served quickly and was delicious

We enjoyed our massages, we stayed right next to the spa We are already planning on booking a trip for the fall!

I stay at Cboice properties all over the US, and I must say this was one of the worst 3 I have ever stayed in We stayed here for 4 nights on a short vacation I always ask for a room away from busy roads, but it was not granted

The highway noise was horrendous, as trucks going south apply unmuffeled Jake brakes right next to the hotel (Marion needs a law like Blowing Rock to stop that) After the first night, I asked for a room away from the road Without even checking availability, the rude young man behind the counter just said No, and walked away More on him later We ran the AC all night to block the sound I paid for a suite, which gave us about 8 more feet of room Quite a stretch to call it a suite The breakfast was the exact same each day The coffee was terrible, weak brown water Every morning, the rude young man sat in the lobby on his phone while the breakfast area had trash that needed emptying and spills that needed cleaning I know getting help these days is hard, but if he is the best that can be hired, it would be just as well to save the money and not hire anyone The only reason it gets 2 stars is the housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning and restocking the room I would never stay here again If you do want to chance it, get a guarantee of an odd numbered room (away from traffic) and don’t expect much

Amy Brown

We love the location as it is near family The hot breakfast is adequate A little disappointed that there was no longer juice offered at breakfast for the little ones

Room has the basic needs but needs a little attention to worn out furniture The thought of an indoor pool is nice but the last 2 times we stayed at this location, the pool was ICE COLD When I asked the front desk about why the pool is always cold, they had no answer and no hope of trying to find out the answer They actually suggested that I talk with someone else that worked more often than they did

We stayed 3 nights as we hiked and explored Mount Mitchell SP Albert’s is a little diamond in the rough My #1 priority when traveling is cleanliness

They get 10 ☆ for that The outside needs a little TLC and the rooms are hardly updated but they were super clean The owners are friendly and very helpful meeting all our needs Location is ideal 25 minutes from Burnsville, 30 minutes to MM state park and just down the road from MM Golf ClubIf you want luxury, this is not your place but if you want to meet necessities I highly recommend

B.

Debbie and Van is what makes this a really special place They’re super accommodating and even invited us to a sweet little backyard bonfire!!The property is a short hike from the roaring fork waterfall, which I checked out after a nice rainy day What an awesome sight! Oh the sunset view from the back of the lodge was pretty special as well :)Looking forward to next year!

Angela Parker

What a beautiful, peaceful hidden gem! The views are incredible, the location is perfect to go do multiple hikes, waterfalls etc And the owners Van & Debbie – incredibly kind, attentive and so welcoming! We absolutely can not wait to go back We stayed in the Birdhouse and it was immaculately clean

The only thing I will say is if you want to do a lot of cooking, the kitchen in that one is pretty small But they provide everything for you which was such a welcome and appreciated bonus (Paper towels, spices, garbage bags etc) Absolutely LOVED our time!

I was having a quick solo trip to the mountains to escape the heat The Skyline Village Inn was in a good location right by the Blue Ridge Parkway, and also had good reviews The Skyline is a really nice, older, historic motel with a fabulous view

The rooms are immaculate and I found the bed quite comfortable Mitch and Marla are wonderful managers who strive to make all feel welcome I ate dinner at the Inn and that was fun hanging out with the other guests As a solo traveler it made the trip more communal They also provide guests with a big country breakfast for a modest fee and it will send you off full for your day’s adventure I would recommend the Skyline Village Inn if you want a quaint motel with a great location run by friendly people

Chris Pittman

First of all, the location is great; great views, easy access to many points of interest via the Blue Ridge ParkwaySecondly, Mitch and Marla are the consummate hosts They make everyone feel at home, as though we’re (all guests) are part of an extended family

And the optional breakfast and dinner are always exemplary! This was my second stay but I will be back Soon and frequently!Chris Pittman

Mitch and Marla were so nice and welcoming! We had dinner the first night there and it was excellent – ribeye, corn, twice baked potatoes! Breakfast the following morning was delicious as well Room was clean and comfortable and the view was spectacular! They welcomed our dog and we saw a few other dogs enjoying their time there, too! We will definitely be back!

I stayed here on a Tuesday night, while on a motorcycle trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway The rooms are basic, but very cleanDinner is served in the evening, and is included in the price of your room

It is served dining hall style, so there isn’t a choice of meal for dinner Dinner was very good; The meal I had was turkey and cauliflower and another vegetable that I can’t remember They have water, soda, beer, and wine for beveragesThey offer a full made-to-order breakfast in the morning, also included in the price of your roomWell I was here, the clientele skewed to the elderly That may be because of the excellent service and the spectacular location I’m not sure I would recommend this place for small children, but couples and singles would find this place charmingIt’s a great value in a great location I highly recommend it

Chris Hicks

We love coming here The staff are very nice The little cabins are nice and comfy

You even get a breakfast and dinner each day when you stay The food is always good and they even have coffee in the morning in the reception area This is located near Emerald mines, Blue Ridge Parkway and other attractions Definitely a nice place to stay

Barbara Seleski

All I can say is I am glad that Big Lynn is still going strong I started enjoying my 2 weeks vacation there back in 1970 when The Reynolds owned it I introduced my parents to Big Lynn and they would book 2 months there to escape the So Fla heat

Then I started telling my friends, and they also loved it So much to do in the area Haven’t been able to get back in a few years but the yearning is always there The very best place to stay while in the mountains

Friendly, helpful, personable camp host Clean bath house and convenient porta potty by tent sites This beautiful creekside location is just a short distance from Catawba Falls and many other beautiful hikes (pictured is Roaring Fork Creek Falls)

Can’t wait to come back when it’s warm and relax in creek The camp store is well stocked and has firewood available for purchase There’s laundry facilities and even a friendly cat that runs around the place This spot was everything we needed and more However, it’s probably not for everyone Campsites are close together and there isn’t much coverage/ privacy Wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking to be secluded

Beautiful campground owned by the sweetest family Everyone was so kind and accommodating My boyfriend and I came here to tent camp for one night and ended up staying an extra two nights because we loved it so much

The bathhouse is extremely clean, there’s laundry on site, firewood/ice, a cute little shop, and they have tiny cabins for rent as well I’m so happy we stumbled upon this gem!

Rachel Webb

I don’t know where to start First called for a sight the owner was very sweet and friendly Gave us a tent sight close to the bathroom

Campground was so nice, clean, lots to do But most of all beautiful!!! Such a beautiful place to get lost in your thoughts and be stress free!! We got to meet the family that owes it So sweet Fire wood was only 500 and the bathhouse is so very clean!!! Checking my schedule when we can go back It is just beautiful Don’t forget to go to the coffee shop inside the gift shop so very yummy to start the day!!! Highly recommend!!

Absolutely amazing and I check every detail and still gave 5 stars They let us check in early so we could get to our activities Everything was so clean and refreshing

Room was spotless as well as bathroom AC keep turning the fan off so it got too quiet Breakfast was fine as everything was hot and freshSausage, bacon, liquid eggs, pastries, cereals and wafflesGloves were available but if the workers don’t wear them or masks what’s the pointGym was roomy and cleanPool and jacuzzi was great Not a chemical smell and water was crystal clear and they stay open till midnight Check is a great time at noon as wellCan’t wait to go back!

Kayla Byars

I HIGHLY recommend this hotel for any occasion My fiance and I stayed for 2 nights and we loved everything about it The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating! The pool was indoor and heated, which was very nice as it was snowing outside

We used the hot tub a lot and we loved it! Our room also had a jetted tub in it and we loved how comfy the room was The breakfast food was delicious!

Hank Holmes

Was a little worried when I drove up, outside is being remodeled, but the inside was completely done! New paint, furniture, carpets, etc, in the rooms, lobby and breakfast area Sign stated “hot tub was not working” but I was not going to use it anyway

Probably being replaced/redone as well Breakfast area great, good choices Only issue was bananas out were all brown, no yellow ones at all Overall a great experience! Thank you!

Spent a few nights here camping and it was very peaceful, even in the rain The campsite hosts showers/bathrooms and each campsite has a fire pit to have your own private campfire’s As always, be aware of bears as they will smell your food from miles away

So, make sure you put away all of your food back into your vehicle to be safe, no one wants to wake up to a black bear rummaging through your belongings Enjoy the camping! It’s a great place to bring your family

ÈÝ awakening

Loved this place because it was close to many different trailheads It has a rocky area for your tent at least at the site inwas on and its not very private but alot of spots are reserved and noone even shows up at the reserved spots alot of times which i think is bullcrap I dont like how you have to make reservations to camp online not being able to see what your camping spot is gonna be like

Sick of the Gov’t tracking every lil thing we do like camping The days of being a fugitive on the run are over but so is everyone else freedoms At least this place has furst come gurst serve spots which is the way it should be

Katie Foxx

Went here for the first time summer 2021 and stayed a week We loved this place!! Definitely on our list to return to Facilities were cleaned daily

We had a nice campsite that was right on a field that they had provided some activities ( volleyball net and ball, Cornhole, football etc) Lawn was well maintained There were hiking trails not far to go explore one even had a waterfall There was another waterfall with about a 15drive and a short hike to Mt Mitchell was just about a 45min drive Was a nice little day trip If needing to purchase ice and firewood I recommend going back to the main road to a little general store Firewood was $3 cheaper there, and the ice is also a few bucks cheaper Dog friendly however recommend shoes for your pups if they play hard in the water One of our boys tore up his pads playing on the rocks

Stayed here for one night last week and was very impressed Showed up without a reservation and was accommodated quickly and efficiently A dark storm was rolling in and the front desk let me park my motorcycle under the apron for protection

They also went out of their way to put me in a room away from a large group to ensure my rest would be quiet This location has two things I wish every hotel had and few much more expensive ones do; black out shades and thick windows The hotel is up on a hill and my room looked down and over at the nearby freeway I was initially concerned about noise but with that thick glass, I didn’t hear a thing Plus, the roll down shades are black out style and kept the room dark when I needed to sleep in after a long day riding In addition, the room was spotless clean as well as the rest of the building This is a gem of a stay for this area and I can easily recommend the hotel

Christian Schulthess

Passed some nights for a visit in Marion: extremely welcoming, nice and service-oriented staff! Rooms and baths are very clean Overall in my opinion one of the best I have seen so far of its kind and of all brands Will surely stay there again if back

Congratulation to this staff!
