This hotel exemplifies what staying at a Hampton Inn should represent Meticulously clean and comfortable Breakfast staff especially friendly and extremely attentive to details

Location ideally located to see several national parks in area As a last stay after 3 weeks on the road, and staying exclusively at Hampton Inns, our trip is definitely ending on a high note

Donald Williams

Very clean, well maintained property Management team and staff were all professional, knowledgeable and demonstrated true “customer service!”A true hospitality team! A model property for Hilton! Thank you for a great hotel stay experience

Madison Crawford

I have to say I went for a relaxing day with my family for my daughter’s birthday and everything was absolutely great The staff was friendly the rooms were clean and comfortable they put out fresh warm cookies in the evening and the breakfast choices were delicious They had everything from omelets to make your own waffles cereal and fruit for the kids yogurts muffin and bagel station even to go breakfast bags to grab on the go

But the hot tub wasn’t working and that was a big part of picking that hotel for my daughter’s birthday so I had emailed customer service and they actually responded the very next day and we’re very sincere with their apologies and wanted to make it up by refunding our room so we could take our daughter back to redo her birthday! And we will because everything else at that Hampton inn was super great But knowing that the people working in the customer service department actually really cared about my daughter’s birthday vacation not going exactly as planned and making up for it is not something you get with all businesses and it makes me truly appreciate this company even more I would recommend the Hampton inn in Charlestown to anyone looking for a nice comfortable places with all the right amenities!

My husband and I recently spent a 3-day weekend at the Inn made for the perfect get away Convenient from the suburbs of Washington DC, a one-hour drive took us to this wonderful spot along the Potomac and the beauty of West Virginia Everything was first-rate and provided a perfect setting to rest, relax and enjoy good food and a relaxed atmosphere

The rooms were spacious, the staff extremely welcoming and helpful, the wait-staff was every bit as good as the food, with a varied menu that didn’t try too hard and did everything we tried very well The pool was a big favorite and the bar and setting exuded a vibe that screamed “relax and enjoy” We did!! For such a laid-back setting it was apparent that the place is extremely well run, with great attention to detail, and did I mention that the staff was just outstanding – attentive, friendly and efficient We even enjoyed views of two different bald eagles from our room and the pool The guests ran from young couples to middle-age folks, reflecting the wide appeal of a well-run resort for those simply looking to get away and chill Perhaps most impressive, our stay coincided with a very large birthday party but the level of service afforded to all guests didn’t miss a beat What a find!

Shirley Stinchcomb

We had an awesome girls getaway here! All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating! We had a gorgeous view from our little balcony overlooking the Potomac! Everything was clean and the view in the pool is beyond words! Food in the dining room was excellent as was the breakfast and the crab pretzel poolside! A nice walk to the park and to town for lunch and only about 15 minute drive to Harpers Ferry Beds were super comfortable too! This will definitely be a repeat experience for us! Highly recommend!

Linda Caricofe

This is one of our favorite get awaysThe Chalet we enjoy has a whirlpool bath, well appointed bathroom with folding door entrance, double vanity sinkKing size four poster bed, a gas fireplace , even a little sitting room sectionThe balcony views are amazing

We dined there for dinnerThe menu has changed since the last time we dined thereWe could not really see any entrees to interest us except the crab cakes, which were excellentThe Triple Sec cheesecake dessert was best of show yummy !Breakfast the next day was beyond wonderfulWe both think this place is well worth many repeat stays in the future

The pool was over crowded with teenagers and no parents in sight Went in the hot tub for a few minutes but it smelled like a swamp It must have been pool closing time because they turned the hot tub off after we got out and the water was green! It looked fine while the jets were on because all we could see was the bubbles

Would not recommend this place if your planning to use the pool or hot tub

Christan Govich

Hotel was located in a mall parking lot which had stores and restaurants that were walkable Nearby Target was a plus to stock up on necessities The room was large and clean

The bed was comfy and the TV was adequate The room had a mini fridge and microwave which was a nice plus The noise from the nearby highway was loud Rooms facing the back of the hotel were definitely louder, but the sound was noticeable in the front as well They had free breakfast in the AM, but very limited selection Cereal, oatmeal, eggs, some fruit The same every morning

Raymond Wall

Rooms are nice, clean Check in was a little problematic Breakfast was not so good

6-9 but they started cleaning it up at 8:52 Even worse they didn’t stock it so they wouldn’t have as much to clean I’m guessing I got there at 8:20 and there were two yoghurts, only two milks and some low fatThe worst part was the woman ran a cart at me and made me jump out of the way or I would have got run over Never seen such rudeness!Pool and hot tub were out of order a sign said Just saw a review from two months ago that the pool and hot tub were not available and they stated that it’s supposedly been out of order for monthsGo some place else! There’s others right around here!

Beautiful inn with lovely service and good location! We stayed for three nights, and overall, highly recommended We stayed in suite 1, which was very spacious: high ceilings, double closets, and a great bathroom with double sinks, jetted tub, and separate shower Breakfast was delicious each morning, served with a smile and the offer for seconds

The location is nice with off street parking and within walking distance of Lower Town – just bring your walking shoes for the uphill trek back! The only thing holding this back from being a five star review was the cleanliness While the bathroom was very clean, there were multiple areas (moulding, lamps, mantle) that were clearly not dusted well in the room we stayed in Not a huge thing, but not optimal as it kicked up our allergies Overall, a lovely stay!

Beautiful inn, ideal location, friendly & helpful staff!I booked the Light Horse Inn for 3 days while doing day hikes & historic tours in the area What a great stay! Works well if you’re car free, too (see below)I usually don’t pick inns or b&bs for two reasons: often, they don’t offer as much privacy as I’m comfortable with, and trigger my dust allergies

The Light Horse Inn was perfect in both regardsMy room: it was big, light, airy, and attractive The bathroom was huge and had a jetbath, which was awesome after a day hiking I was alone, but the room was absolutely big enough for a couple to stay comfortably, with two closets, two sinks, and plenty of floor room It felt downright luxurious to be there alone The decor and furniture were nicely done and sensitive to the history of the house– this was true of the whole property Because of my dust allergies, I was happy to see that they didn’t have a ton of tchotchkes, which has been my downfall in other inns The room was clean and in good repair (allowing for the fact that any 200+ year old house will never be in perfect shape!) as was every room and space I sawThey had a self check-in system, which was nice– frankly, after a long day traveling, I wasn’t up for small talk While the inn isn’t soundproof, noise from other guests wasn’t loud or disturbing My room was on the street side of the house and I barely heard trafficFor breakfast, guests in each room have their own tables While everyone was friendly and pleasant, we all respected each others space as well The rooms lock, and the entry doors require a passcode, so I never worried about leaving my valuables (not that I had much that’s valuable) all dayBreakfast was delicious, high in protein, and BIG, which was wonderful because I was walking all day The inn provided early morning coffee, and snacks throughout the day, including granola bars I threw in my backpackAs I was there a little before the official tourist season, not all of the local restaurants were in full swing with their summer schedules It didn’t matter– I never had a problem finding a delicious meal when I needed one The Rabbit Hole in Harpers Ferry proper and Snallygasters next door to the inn were my two favorites They both have great beer choices :)Unlike most visitors to Harpers Ferry, I did not bring a car One reason I chose the Light Horse was because of the location From the Light Horse, I walked to the National Park Service park on Shoreline Drive in less than 25 minutes, and to “downtown” Harpers Ferry in about 20 minutes A bus connects the two There are plenty of restaurants, the Appalachian Trail Visitors Center, Storer College and other historic sites, and a 7-11 in walking distance of the inn Amtrak and MARC both serve the Harpers Ferry train station An inn staffer kindly offered me a lift to the train when I left and I was happy to take him up on it, but it’s walkable in both directions as long as you can carry your luggage and don’t mind hills and steps(Lots of AT through hikers stop in Harpers Ferry so the town and local businesses are ready to accommodate pedestrians That said, I would describe the area as accessible without a car if you are in moderately good shape, but not easily so if you have mobility challenges)The staff was absolutely wonderful Nice, and able to anticipate what we may need They kept everyone happy and made it look easyIf I come back, I will book here again!FYI: TMobile coverage was spotty in the area The best signal I got was in the historic township The inn and the restaurants I mentioned all offer wifi, so that helped fill the gap

D’s Auto Repairs Dinges

To say we had a perfect experience is understanding it drastically! Thank you Jen you made my wife and I so comfortable and we felt like honored guests The breakfast each morning was amazing and the care to attention with each day is what made our experience better and better Jennifer had a smile every morning to match the amazing B&B of Light Horse and I highly recommend staying there

Again thank you to Jen and the ladies behind the scenes! Suite 4 was everything we expected and more

Wonderful hotel I flew in from Texas for a funeral, and booked a room next door at the Red Roof Inn, which was a huge mistake (see my review on THAT place) It was absolutely awful, and I was going to be in town for 5 days in a high stress situation

I needed better accommodations at the last minuteIn desperation, I walked in to the Holiday Inn and was greeted by a very friendly young man by the name of Teddy I explained my predicament, and Teddy saved the day He got me a very nice, quiet, clean, modern room at an excellent priceand I was able to get out of that dump next door I can’t thank him enoughThe Holiday Inn was very comfortable Everything worked great, and the location was perfect for everything I needed to get done The whole staff at the Holiday Inn Martinsburg were friendly, professional, and helpful I couldn’t have asked for anything better Next time I come back this is where I will stay

One of the nicest Hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in Staff was awesome, restaurant inside has the Best emoyees, Sam & Gabby, good food any time of day My room was very nice, the bed was one of the best and most comfortable I have slept in so far ! Rooms are very modern, spacious, nice size TV, safe in closet, great hot water pressure !

Stayed overnight and our experience was highly enjoyable Parking was plentiful and the hotel itself was situated in the perfect location being right off the highway and less than a mile away from a Walmart and any restaurant or store one could imagine Our favorite amenity was the indoor heated pool

The pictures of the pool on the hotel’s website honestly do it no justice The pool itself is much larger in person and is located in a more remote part of the hotel The pool area requires a room key to gain entry making it feel more secure The pool area has towels for guest use, a bathroom, shower and ample seating The pool hours are also very generous, 6am-11pm The unique design of the hotel (built on a hill) and the private second floor entrance makes getting to rooms on the second floor painless No having to worry about walking through the lobby or taking stairs or an elevator This was our first trip to this hotel and the Martinsburg area but will definitely not be our last!

Stayed here for an overnight stop on a long distance road trip Hotel was very nice! It was close to the highway without being right beside it so there was no road noises The hotel was close to many nice restaurants and shops

The hotel and rooms were very clean and updated The room we stayed in had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, plus a great kitchen which was wonderful for the 3 of us that stayed in the room Breakfast had a great assortment of items, however would definitely recommend that they get a second waffle maker to help with the wait As a plus they also have a guest laundry which was really helpful because we had a lot of laundry to do from our trip I would recommend that they install more ice makers on each floor as well, the only one we could find was on level 1 on the other side of the hotel

James redneck

Close to hiway Room was perfectly cleaned Tip of the hat to cleaning staff

Mark was working the desk and was great Took his time and went beyond to make me feel welcome This has never happened to me before but about 20 min after I checked in he messaged me asking about the room and was I satisfied with it Now that’s service Hopefully management recognize his efforts and steps up If your looking for clean and Friendly staff definitely stay here

Julie Moran

Five star accommodations, four-star value

I was given a truly spacious, comfortable and well-stocked room (with one exception — one tiny pair of shampoo / conditioner bottles, necessitating a trip to the lobby to get more) The hotel is conveniently located off I-81 and offered a decent breakfast and good front desk service One sour note: While it didn’t affect my one-night stay, room cleaning and servicing takes place every four days At a total price exceeding $200 for a off-the-highway hotel, I would consider that a rather lousy value

My husband and I stayed her over the Memorial Day weekend and we had a great stay The property was nice and clean, staff was courteous, and there were plenty of places to get a decent meal Although the hotel has a full hot breakfast

Will definitely stay again!PS: I hope Ms Jackie’s leg gets better soon – thank you for the hospitality!

Weekend Warrior

The hotel itself was nice, except for our toilet paper holder being broken on one side causing it to tilt, but the staff is the real issue On our 2nd day they had removed our card access even though we had two nights The 2nd day breakfast had a hair in the potatoes and the vegetarian and non vegetarian eggs were placed side by side which really defeats the point

There’s some definite training that needs to happen

Clean and modern feel Staff were very friendly and accommodating of questions and requests Nice lobby area with kiosk PC and printer

Pool was small but clean and well setupRoom was very spacious with kitchenette, sofa and ottoman, king bed LED lighting was bright and not harsh like those awful CFL things most hotels useOnly small negative is that I need an early out and breakfast does not start until 7:00am, but they sent me over to the nearby Hampton Inn that starts serving at 6:00I will be up in the area a bit more often, and will try to stay at this hotel

Vicky Alexander

Our new hotel! It’s so clean, like smells like you just cleaned your house clean, not bleach clean If you’re in Charlestown, don’t even look anywhere else! I can’t say enough good things about this place, super friendly staff We’re here to try out the casino and it’s right there beside it

Stayed here for a few nights while my house was being worked on and it was comfortable The complimentary breakfast was amazing There was a large selection and the food was genuinely good

The bathroom in the room needs to be deep cleaned and renovated There was a mystery stain on the ceiling above the shower and the caulk was peeling and gross in many spots The wallpaper was also peeling and damaged in a lot of spots The room was really humid and no exhaust fan in the bathroom I would probably not stay again due to the bathrooms

We stayed here for a weekend trip to see a concert at the Maryland Theatre The hotel is conveniently located to the downtown area and had lots of shops and restaurant options I was impressed by the cleanliness and newness of The lobby, and our rooms

The complimentary breakfast was excellent with options for everyone The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and they were able to quickly add an adjoining room to our suite when we needed more space for our autistic son I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone in town for business or pleasure

Paige Franssen

Stayed for a wedding in the area, rooms were clean and comfortable! Conveniently located with a friendly staff One staff member even gave us some extra cold waters when we returned after a night of dancing After driving 7 hours home I realized I forgot my makeup bag and they had it shipped back to us in just a few days

Only complaint was a bit of a wait for the elevators, I think only one was functioning during our stay

While everything was goodand the rooms were mostly clean, the TV was one of the old LG clunkers and I couldn’t use my fire stick with it As well, the plug-in ethernet did not work And there was the fact that we didn’t have any shampoo or lotion in the room and had to ask for it

For the price we paid, it should have been a lot more However, the staff was awesome and the location was great

This hotel is near restaurants and the small town mall Good location The service from the staff was good

Melissa the bartender was amazing, she was a one woman show and kept an amazing attitude! The young man at the front desk was AMAZINGhe ALSO was a one man showchecking us in, getting extra towels, lightning the fire pit, etc handling the entire hotel aloneoften having to put up a ‘be back soon’ sign to just to go to the restroom This hotel is severely understaffed and putting good employees under undo pressure Rooms were clean upon check-in, but no housekeeping Lots of confusion about reservations and we were overcharged Over $2000 for 4 nights????? ( rooms @94/night???) Do your research about current staffing and check your bill

Ken, Jason and Kaitlyn (just for starters) are absolutely amazing!! I stayed here for 6 months and these are some of the best people I’ve ever met in the hotel industry Anytime there was ever a concern it was immediately resolved The hotel was kept immaculate and the staff were highly professional and pleasant to deal with

If I ever need another hotel in Martinsburg area there is nowhere else I would ever stay!!! Thank you guys for truly making my stay my home away from home!!!

Christian Harshman (Pearls)

Highly don’t recommend, first night in the hotel room and had 2 fleas in the bed b4 I even laid down Bedding had a lot of snags I’m aware they allow dogs in their hotel which is absolutely fine

The dogs behaved better than other customers Some of their employees are rude I had a situation and one employee told me one thing and another told me different There is absolutely no communication between staff I also had the do not disturb tag on my door and the cleaning staff came right in and of course said house keeping and I said I was in the room she apologized then said your not on a late checkout time I said I’m aware it is only 11am and my confirmation email said check out at 12pm Never again will I support a Hilton hotel! Only thing good about it was the location

Rodney Sweat

We just stayed here and loved it! The rooms were immaculate and tastefully decorated The sheets on the bed were so soft that my sister and I both bought a set The bacon and sausage at breakfast were the best I’ve ever had

Chris and Amy were both very hospitable Chris actually led our tour and was very knowledgeable I highly recommend the Antietam room because of the wonderful second floor porch We also loved the gift shop on site They had a great selection of items very reasonably priced

This as a terrific inn in every waylocated in historic Sharpsburg, the inn has been lovingly restored We had one bedroom with an adjoining suite as there were five of us

The space was perfect Beds are extremely comfortable and the sheets are the coziest I have ever slept on Breakfast is a feast We sat out in the yard each night and had our own cocktail hour after a long day of touring the area The inn is a perfect jumping off spot for Harper’s Ferry, Antietam, Gettysburg, Shepardstown, Boonsoboro etc There is so much to see here Your hosts at the inn are terrific Chris is in charge of the guides at Antietam, so try to ask for him if you opt for a private tour All in all, this the Jacob Rohrbach Inn will not disappoint on any front
