My family and I stayed at this location for 2 nights The customer service was second to none as you’d expect from Marriott The amenities that are offered across the street right on the beach are spot on

The complimentary drinks were delicious! Valet made life so easy especially considering how congested this area can get at times The breakfast was above average and if you weren’t feeling up to the breakfast included with your stay, downstairs is a great little spot to grab something at joe and the juice The pool upstairs was very clean and the view from the pool area was beautiful looking out to the ocean I’d say the only ding I’d really have for this location is the rooms cleaning standards didn’t seem as top notch as they usually are It was still more than acceptable, but I will say I know staffing at the moment is tight I brought this up to the hotel and not only was it addressed during my stay, but the general manager sent me a personalized message addressing any concerns The level of care, concern and pride that goes into the Marriott brand is so nice to see We’d definitely recommend staying

From the moment we walked in and were greeted by Ashley and Carlo at the front desk who welcomed my wife and I with a warm smile and made us feel at home For many years we were loyal St Regis Bal Harbor guests and we recently unhappy wanting a change As a titanium elite member, each day of our stay we kept asking ourselves, “why haven’t we stayed here before?”

Incredible top notch service Every team member must have had “customer service training” Par excellence Highly Recommend Joseph Fisher, the hotel manager You’ve done an amazing job This will be our new home in Florida Many thanks

Efraim Till

When my wife and I arrived everything was great When it came to check out everything changed The staff gave us attitude and wouldn’t stop calling and banging on our door at 11:00am to make sure we wouldn’t stay in the room an extra minute

Definitely not the service I would expect at a high end hotel especially when they charge $1,000/ night

Been coming here for many years, hotel is a really nice but the service has gone very very down hill Below are the issues that occurred during my latest stay:- Had many issues with my AC which took multiple days to resolve Room was 85 degrees

They sent a “engineer” to fix the AC on night 1, he said he fixed the AC Woke up sweating bullets, AC was not fixed Called back night 2 in the morning, they sent another 2 “engineers” who said they fixed the problem Got back to the room after being at the Day Villa we paid 650$ for to avoid being in a hot room & the AC was still not fixed, still 85 degrees I asked for a new room and they denied my request and gave me a 600$ credit The room was well over $600 a night so I find this very unfair I gave up at this point as I just wanted to try to enjoy my vacation My fiancé has asthma and was having breathing problems due to how hot the room was at this point We decided not to stay after night 2 even though we had 3 nights- Booked a 90 minute massage before arriving online Upon arrival we decided we’d like to get a couples massage so I attempted to call the Spa to change this They did not answer there phones for 2 days I called the front desk multiple times and explained the situation, they just forwarded my call to the Spa who did not answer the phone again and again Finally only 2 hours before my massage, they called The lady who called me was very rude and said they can move it as a “courtesy” however they only had one time slot available for a couples massage and we already had plans to leave at this point and go to a different hotel Because of this, I asked to cancel and they said they will still have to charge me the full price of the massage + 20% to cancel They said they’ve been trying to reach me for the past two days so it’s not there fault There’s no way they were trying to reach me, I’ve received numerous calls from the hotel which I’ve answered and had no communication problems whatsoeverI’ve stayed at many different St Regis hotels around the United States and I’ve never dealt with this kind of service St Regis Atlanta for example which I stayed at only a few months ago was an absolute joy, and the service was fantastic If you are vacationing to Miami, I highly recommend checking out other options as you will definitely be disappointed as this hotel does not live up to the St Regis brand

Beautiful large hotel close to the beach in Miami Stayed here before the pandemicThe good:- Beautiful, clean rooms with gorgeous views of the ocean

– Luxurious, tropical feel- Great location for visiting the beachThe not so good:- Service was below 5 star / 5 diamond standards- Pool complex could be biggerI know some people say the rooms are a little dated, but they are clean and well appointed If you want an ultra-modern hotel, you may want to stay somewhere else The location is amazing, as it is right on the beach Walk out from the pool complex right out onto the beachService was a little below standard for a hotel of this class The hotel didn’t seem all that busy when I stayed here, but getting a service request completed took a long time Also, the pool complex is nothing special While most people do go out onto the beach, the privacy of the pool can be enjoyable, especially at night I feel a little let down in that regardOverall, great location, gorgeous views, nice rooms, and lacking a bit in the service department I prefer this hotel over the Savoy For the price, you might be able to do a little better, but you could also do a lot worseRooms with ocean views are highly recommended

Staff is very nice Accommodations are less than Can hear kids banging the walls on one side, and a couple fighting on the other

Needed updating about 20 years ago And the “Bay View Suite” Yeah just cars racing down the road constantly Do not recommend Would NEVER have booked here, but used Hotwire for the first time in years First time I’ve gotten screwed booking through them

Evan Perri

The service and location was great But the room was not as good, the shower door didn’t fully close causing water to get all over the floor of the bathroom Every time that the air conditioner turned on it would make a clicking sound, you could hear everything that was happening outside your also

It might of just been our room though Other than that it was a really nice hotel

Pamela Lerch

I put 5 but 0, the worst hotel, dirty the balcony, the jacuzzi (also not working), the furniture, the carpet, the elevator and around the pool Expensive and they don’t give you any soap, everything is paid for, everything even the coffee in the room I pay only for the view $450 for one night

You also pay for parking and for using the pool I’m not picky but I have a 6 month old baby who was crawling and the dirt was very disappointing

Shoutout to the manager on this Saturday morning that works outside, putting out the beach set up! It was our first time staying at an AC hotel and I was impressed how impeccable our room was I liked the European less is more with tiled floors and very simple but pretty decor Excellent check in and the outdoor pool was great for the family to enjoy

The breakfast all you can eat gave you two options for add ons like pancakes, scrambled eggs sausage or bacon all for a reasonable price Check out was simple The one thing It did not well for us traveling with kids was that there was no security at the pool and some guest were smoking not respecting the no smoking sign at the door, which made it a bit uncomfortable for a non smoking family with children Other than that the stay was great and will definitely stay again

I really wanted to love this hotel, but the truth is, is just not there1) Upon check-in, my credit card was taken for room incidentals I had already paid for my room charges prior to arrival

I was NOT told by the front desk person who checked me in that a $XX hold would be placed on my card Not a huge deal, but definitely worth mentioning if you will place a hold on someone’s credit card2) The hotel is just noisy, we could hear hammers (I assumed) banging, staff yelling to one another, lots of noise from everywhere it was hard to determine which was more distracting I didn’t get any sleep while at the property3) Not only was my sleep disrupted by the noise, but the bed is so HARD Not firm, but HARD My joints hurt every single night (Wed-Friday)4) The last thing and the most egregious issue I found was the rooms are NOT cleaned properly at all On our last day, we noticed the cleaning techniques used Our room was cleaned within 7 minutes I took the time of arrival and departure Cleaning products are not being used They may be available, but they are not being used by the cleaning staff ☹5) Lastly, I spilled some water on the floor Used one of the towels to dry the water up The towel turned from white to a dark smokey gray As I said before in #4 cleaning products may be available to the staff, but it does not appear that they take the time to use them This is obvious in the cleanliness of the floor after a water spillVery disappointed in this property overall, I stay with many Marriott properties, and this is by far the worse in many yearsIn fact, I have another reservation at the Dallas (Galleria) AC Hotel; hopefully, this stay turns out much betterLots of work today AC-Aventura/Miami

The front desk staff are all so nice and welcoming They accommodated a room move quickly and easily, we switched from 2 doubles with a couch to a king bed studioThe rooms are nice, comfy beds

Only part that was a bit strange was the frosted glass door to the toilet

Sadly this hotel did not meet expectations Upon arrival my family and I became aware that we were next to a strip club The lobby was highly scented, which I liked but people with sensitivities surely would not

We came to understand why there was cologne everywhere when we got to the room The first room we were offered had a horrible wet musty smell I refused to stay in there The front desk staff was very nice, helpful and understanding offering us another room That room had a portable dehumidifier in it Clearly this hotel has water damage that is not being fixed I booked through a 3rd party and notified them and the front desk I would not be staying here and was informed by both the third party and the front desk that a refund would be issued when the manager, Juan, was back on property on Monday Juan gave the 3rd party the run around and made it very difficult to connect with him I then called personally No response Finally after much persistence on my end, that I just wanted a refund due to the fact we did not actually stay on the premises, it was resolved But NOT in a professional, timely manner Very disappointed

Jerry McCormack

I wish I could give this zero stars for the property itself and the manager Juan The staff is incredibly friendly so I feel bad for them but this hotel suffers from a moisture issue which is causing mold and mildew, and an unpleasant smell in the lobby and rooms To combat this, management is pumping in large amounts of perfume to mask the odor which initially is quite pleasant but becomes overpowering in a few minutes and caused us headaches

Rooms were full of mold in any crevace areas and had portable dehumidifers which was alarming to say the least Just don’t stay here, it’s in a terrible part of town anyway

mark malanowski

Stayed overnight with my loved one The room was clean but the lights flickered all night The ac was not working well and left the room completely damp feeling

The shower had no inside curtain The elevator felt like it would give out everytime someone came in The sound of it was really bad and loud Woke up to a homicide next door gun shots being heard at 5:30am definitely will not be back

We traveled to Miami are for a wedding, I booked at The Stadium When we first pulled up I was a little worried As we usually stay at Marriott when we travel

This hotel is well kept, a little aged but has had many updates The staff was amazing and you can tell they take pride in their work Our room was clean and there are staff constantly cleaning wiping things down in common areas Continental breakfast was nice and fresh, Everything tasted really good They have staff continually monitoring the hotel and outside area which made me feel even more safe and comfortable for a first time trip to Miami Pool was nice and they have mini golf as well Would highly recommend for a stay and would definitely return for a stay

R

Perfect stay during the F1 weekend! Staff was next level and went above and beyond for race fans Race decor was over the top in the best way possible and made the experience so much more fun and enjoyable Walking distance to the stadium, the best provided breakfasts fuel long days, and a place to comfortably sleep despite thin walls

Everyone working from reception, housekeeping, security, grounds, and even staff helping serve breakfast actually looked and were approachable in the sense that they were having a good time and were happy to be there or at least did a great job appearing to be! Everyone came off genuine and so nice! Absolutely loved all the posters/flags and decor from the columns outside, the hanging driver cards from the ceilings to the decorated breakfast 9th floor decked out Overheard presumably managers speaking to staff on what channels to have the TVs on and making sure things were stocked and clean for fans The small details and attention for the guests/fans So much so fans were given a complimentary clear bag permitted in the stadium with sealed waters and other goodies Completely unwarranted and sweet! The Miami GP was okay, but this place made the stay and overall experience much better Almost didn’t want to leave the review afraid that this place will skyrocket for the next GP, but all their effort over the weekend deserves the recognition – I can’t say enough This place knocked it out of the park on the FIRST F1 event held here Do note that walking distance may not be for everyone especially in the heat There were shuttles available that didn’t come across worth needing

Jean Begin

Very clean hotel The room were dating with some signs of aging but overall great We had a corner balcony and it delivered on the view

The resort kind of reminded me of a Disney All-Star minus the Mickey’s This one would be All-Star NFL has it is themed after the stadium located right in front Check in and check out were smooth Employees took care of our every requests Room service was not very efficient as we had to get our food order from the lobby but beside that hiccup, its a nice propertyThe breakfast is offered on the top floor with an amazing view It also offer an outside deck to have breakfast in the sunMy only downside and it is not one the hotel can fix, are the vehicles noise, it is very close to the highway and therefore you get the noise The streets around are also very busy which really doesn’t help The pool and mini-golf level are shielded from the noise and can be a tad more relaxing but on the balcony it was very loud at timesWe will be back as it is a great property I can’t imagine on game weekends, it must be crazy!

The guy at the front counter very nice, however according to him he was the only on duty that night Our room AC was set on fan and I could not adjust/change the settings (room never got cold), the TV would NOT come on at all, we unplugged it and try a different outlet and it never came on, they did NOT have toiletries as they were completely out (front desk guy stated) and we was never offered to change rooms Will definitely NOT be staying there again

Charissa

No hot water in shower or sink, called front desk twice- no answer- went down to front desk no customers around Front desk lady was unhelpful, unfriendly and acknowledged they knew that there are numerous rooms that the hot water doesn’t work Refused to offer us any compensation for our troubles, wouldn’t switch rooms when I requested it, stating, “ I don’t know what other rooms don’t have hot water…” she stated that other customers are having hot water issues as well

So they are aware, yet, not offering compensation for their problems Hotel old and dated, photos look better than in person, very loud room…next to freeway and loud elevator, mold in shower on ceiling and walls Dark, poorly lit hallways and rooms need attention and updating Outdoor pool is freezing cold Workout room is lacking, only one machine functioned (when I tried all four)Front Staff unwelcoming and unfriendly Didn’t welcome me or acknowledge me as a reward points member- I had to ask at check out if I was given my points Not the greatest area, very far away from the airport & no hotel shuttle as advertised on their website For the price we paid, very poor value Would NOT recommend staying here Worst Holiday Inn property we’ve ever stayed at, we are frequent travelers I choose Holiday Inn properties for their reputation, this hotel doesn’t fit the Holiday Inn standards Find someplace else

shannon Conway

This hotel service is terrible Do not recommend staying here You should not put your diamond elite customers in the rooms that have no hot water

Then tell them oh sorry it’s something we can note, but there is nothing we can do Then when you ask for a hair dryer 3 times and you say ok no problem and it never comes I don’t usually post bad reviews but I do expect a hotel to make traveling for work suck less, not more I don’t think that’s asking too much

My fiancé and I visited this hotel to see the venue there We are having our wedding there and seeing the venue in person made us very happy with our choiceWe stayed in a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen, dinette, living room and spacious bathroom

The hotel is very clean which is extremely important to me The staff is so helpful and friendly Director of Sales Melanie gave us exceptional hospitality, we felt so special on our entire stay! The Chef- William, was also Amazing and his food was absolutely delicious! We can’t wait to be there in July for our Wedding, we know that we will have a great team from The DoubleTree helping us to make our special day extraordinary!

Grace

Rooms are very spacious! The hotel is clean, although needs renovation and the “pool” is really a kiddie poolbut! The location on the beach is priceless!!! They have a tiki bar and small food shop downstairs, plus great service at the beach, very convenient and hustle free

And, there is Starbucks, Cuban coffee, full supermarket and many more food options across the street on Collins and within walking distance You really don’t need a car in Sunny Isles

Anna

This is a rear thing when I’m writing a negative review, but this one should be written as my experience at this resort turned out unpleasant1 The rooms are not prepared for visitors

The a/c did not work It was super loud and did not cool down the room as expected2 Another room they moved us, in did not have the extra lock which was suppose to be there3 The sink was leaking which caused the constant noise, but never fixed during our stay4 Umbrella costs extra $20 a day and is not included in the resort fee5 The staff is not welcoming, neither helpful, I tried to call to service desk many times to resolve the ongoing issues described above, but had to go downstairs as they did not pick up6 No restaurant on site No breakfast7 I didn’t have a chance to use them, but tiki bar is closing at 5 pm so might be good to know for those who don’t drink earlier :)8 Dirty hallways See the picturesAnd so on and so on…I am a Hilton honor member Believe me that worth nothing at that resort Not worth the money

We loved everything about the JW Turnberry The moment we walked into the property we were welcomed by the friendliest bellhop He guided us to our room and gave us a great tour of the amenities on the way

We had one very small concern about our room and they sent housekeeping immediately Once again, the staff was cordial and niceThe Tidal Wave (water park) was fun It was a adult only trip and even we enjoyed it But I will say, the adult only pool with towel service was my favorite part (and their staff was amazing too)! You know it’s a great stay when you don’t want to leave This resort truly knows how to treat their guests and maintain a beautiful property I have no doubt we’ll be back again!

Don’t waste your money if you’re going for the water parkThe entire reason we stayed at the Turnberry Resort was to enjoy the water park with our eight year old son We were in town last Thanksgiving and stayed off-site, but visited the park twice and had a wonderful time

Unfortunately, for a park with a capacity of over 3800 people, it is apparently acceptable to have only fifteen tubes for the upper two rides We spoke with management, who didn’t seem to be all that concerned and even said “that’s the way it’s always been” When we in formed him it was not our first time at the resort, the response was “well, that’s what it is”At this point, I don’t believe we could recommend Turnberry for that reason alone It is quite more expensive than other hotels in the area and when you can’t even use the main attraction, it’s kind of pointless Also, the staff seemed more concerned about pleasing the special parties each day than addressing concerns of patrons who were staying at the hotelThis was one of my worst experiences with a Marriott to date

Annette Herrera

We have stayed here twice and have enjoyed their water park both times & absolutely love it here! Looking forward to being back soon The pools, the slides & the lazy river are great too Hotel and Pool/park area are well maintained & clean

All staff members have been welcoming & accommodatingThe only reason why I am giving them a four star is because I feel like there should be a different system for outside guests The first time we went, there were so many non guests in the pool area that a lot of the hotel guests had nowhere to sit I feel like hotel guests should have priority

I’ve already stayed twice here and I recommend it to everyone Really fast service and check in/out process People are really nice and the hotel is extremely clean

Location is 10/10! You have so many restaurants, workout places, spas and more around the same block It feels really safe, the rooms are big and they allow pets! They will certainly see me again!

Laura Clinansmith

we were there for a few days at the beginning of March and just want to warn new visitors about a couple things – first, the only bar on the property doesn’t open until 4pm Not great if you were planning to drink at the pool Speaking of the pool, not sure what was going on with the water but getting my hair wet resulted in a disgusting residue that required multiple shampoos to remove

Other than that, the hotel is adequate, but nothing special Oh yeah, no microwaves in the room, which is unusual and inconvenient

Zae Dareus

Associates at the front desk told me that I was good to go with parking, and now after my trip I see a charge for parking I called the business they advised I CALL THE LOBBY & speak to the manager about it Manager basically acted as if I was lying about the charge

She claims that her associates did tell me that parking is a charge when in fact they did not So I asked basically I have to pay the charge even though the associates did not inform me of it She said blankly “yes” This is poor customer service, the room had not microwave , barely any air

Positives: This place is absolutely beautiful Clean Housekeeping and front desk were super nice

Pending the laundry issue, I would definitely stay here againNegatives: no microwave in the room and the laundry for guests is broken We were staying as a family of 4 for a week So this absolutely disrupted our stay I had to lug loads of dirty laundry to a friend’s house one day Between kids, beaches and the heat, accessing laundry was an absolute must Had I known this before booking I would have honestly stayed somewhere else The restaurant was INSANELY expensive We caught a red eye and checked in off our flight (not early, we paid for the room the day before), I purchased on side of pancakes and one bagel it ran me $30!!!! First and last experience at this restaurant I was so tired I honestly didn’t feel like questioning why it cost so much more than the menu stated, I just needed some sleep

It’s ALWAYS a great experience when I come to town and stay here!!! After a lengthy extended stay, I am throughly impressed, and very grateful to the Serena staff They provided a comfortable and pleasant stay for me and my family over many days Even through the height of the pandemic—it was challenging, but I can appreciate their safety and management

Firstly let me say the hotel is BEAUTIFUL! I was met with a dilemma, and it was quickly resolved! Major kudos to the front desk staff Tina and Julian, as well as housekeeping staff whose names were Barbara and Eddie I love the hotel and the atmosphere in there is so calming Phenomenal job through my entire weekend there! I did not want to leave

They made it so easy to check in and check out

TheaLynn K

This hotel is located in a sketchy area There is loud construction across the street and in the neighborhood Do not stay on a higher level as the night club noise will keep you up all night

My room smelled like mildew My room service was cold and soggy tacos that fell apart The guacamole looked pre-made There was a used, dirty mask behind the night table This place is WAY over priced I had to ask for a glass of sparkling wine that they are supposed to offer me They did not acknowledge my status as a Hilton member

Took my wife here to celebrate her graduation We walked into our room after check in and found a repulsive giant toe nail on the floor First night here the hot water didn’t work until after 11pm

The rooms look nice from pictures but when we got into our room there was cheap vinyl flooring which was coming up and the shower had poor pressure The only staff we encountered that was actually pleasant was a woman at the lobby bar On the positive note, location is pretty great, mattress was super comfortable and the property itself is beautiful

Rosa Menendez

Our staycation at Grand Beach Surfside was phenomenal from beginning to end The customer service is really spectacular Tyler at the front desk is superb and so kind, she really understands hospitality

She made us feel so welcomed and set the tone for our marvelous stay Our room was perfect- two balconies and ocean and city views The beach was awesome as were the pools The food was so delicious, we ordered room service and dined at the restaurant as well The shrimp cocktail and crab cakes were incredible as were the pasta and breakfast items We are counting the days until we return Tyler, Tyler, Tyler!

The hotel is lovely but the staff is lacking We received two text messages welcoming us to the hotel and inquiring about our stay so far When we got to the hotel (after 4pm check in time) we were told our room wasn’t ready

We waited over 2 hours for our room, and when I asked if we could check out late for the inconvenience we were met with lots of resistanceWe finally got a 2pm check out it experience poor service at the beach, couldn’t never get room service on the phone and one day a random person was in our room looking for housekeeping/toiletriesAlso the sink in the room is terrible The basin is very shallow and the water pressure is on high, so every time you turn it on you and everything around the sink gets soakedThey appear understaffed but for the amount of money they charge a night it’s unacceptable I spoke to both Nia and Carlos and they weren’t helpful at all Don’t stay here

I really liked the hotel once we actually got our room Very nice scenery around hotel but the weather was bad and we didn’t get any pictures The cleaning staff took to long to clean the rooms so even at 3, they still weren’t clean, waited till 4 for actual check in and it still wasn’t ready

We got checked in around 420, I just think the cleaning staff needs to be more attentive and finished cleaning at a certain time but definitely worth my stay I will return

Eros Bongiovanni

We liked this hotel BUT1 Reserved a room with a balcony Arrived to find that we were not given a balcony, instead we were given a “patio”

Not the same Our request to be moved to a balcony was denied2 Woken at 6:30 am by staff in the hallway making an absolute racket for 30 minutes3 There has been someone power washing the pool area since 8:45 Extremely loud Not exactly relaxing

Mark Gray

I remember when this was the Don Shula hotel I grew up just a few blocks from here and it was so cool to stay here It still is, this was a wonderful experience

The housekeeping was great, the room was comfortable, and that bed was the best sleep I’ve had on this trip The front desk was perfect Raphael was kind, courteous, and charming From the point where I checked in all the way to my check out The Miami lakes hotel was trying to make my trip that much better Next time I come to south Florida I’ll be coming here again
