The rooms were spotless and very nice Service was amazing, though one guy did kind of come in to drop something off I’d requested without checking, caught my wife unawares He didn’t know I wasn’t staying alone

But they provide pots and pans and a hot plate for free if you ask Other than the outdoor pool needing a good cleaning, everything was fantastic

Edgar Hernandez

I was greeted with a “yes” by the front desk person The location is great and close to restaurants Clean rooms, breakfast was also good

Loved the app, it function as a key to be able to open doors Pools was Ok, needed some cleaning Again, 2 stars for the service, front desk needs to learn some customer service and manners Other than than it was great

My family and I were visiting from out of town and booked rooms at a neighboring motel It was horrible! Desperate to find last minute rooms at another hotel, we were saved by a wonderful man named Eric (the manager) I called and was greeted by a very friendly young lady who assisted us with our reservations

The price was about what I expected it to be We stayed in the beautiful suites It was incredibly clean, smelled so fresh, and my family was so comfortable We slept great and woke up to find hot fresh breakfast waiting downstairs The pool was beautiful and clean (however we did not partake) A must stay for anyone wanting great service and great pillows 😉

I have stayed at a lot of Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) Properties This was an especially enjoyable stay and I was here 35 days to offer this review My room was nice

Getting here is easy and convenient The Staff from desk, to cleaning to managers were all amazing They were incredibly friendly & professional and a definite example of the standards of IHG Properties THANK YOU

Lily Trevino

Very impressed by the level of service rendered by the dining hall and housekeepers on a busy Spring Break weekend The rooms were impeccable and the breakfast area was well-stocked and clean in spite of there being dozens of demanding guestsUnfortunately, these were the only posts at which we spotted female personnel and they were severely understaffed

In spite of being IHG Spire Elite card members, they only gave us one hour late check-out; most usually allow threeA few hours after arriving, I asked about complimentary points we usually receive, but Erik said we wouldn’t be receiving any because we were using points for our stayLater in the evening, when we called the overnight front desk receptionist, he kept us on hold for an extremely long time and then wouldn’t answer When we went downstairs to ask for utensils, he quickly showed us his cell phone and said he was talking to the manager It wasn’t rude necessarily, just a little strangeI finally received an email letting us know points had been added to our account, but they are nowhere near the amount we used to receive for stays before the pandemicAgain, we were very happy with the impeccable rooms and common areas and the clean and well-stocked breakfast during our stay

LORENA QUEZADA

Came specifically for the pool and hot tub The pool was filthy and there was no hot tub I checked in 30 mins late and the room I had initially requested was not ready so I settled for a single instead

The key cards presented some difficulty on all common area doors that I tried and on my room door as well A few light fixtures on the exterior were either loose or missing, the pool area at first glance looked clean but upon further review, there was trash outside of their receptacles and broken furniture, and glass tables that were brown from the dirt The couch in my room was stained and there was some strange drip on the dresser across the bed Staff was friendly Initial presentation of the building and lobby looked good Rated 3 stars specifically because it’s not as advertised in regards to the pool and lack of hot tub

This is my 3rd time staying here and overall have enjoyed it very much The breakfast is always amazing Although could do a better job at ensuring tables are cleaned

The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the parking Every single time I have stayed here, there is only one entrance and exit All other areas are blocked off by a metal fencing barrier It is extremely annoying having to drive around trying to find the entrance Which is always at the back of the hotel and not at the front I know it also isn’t a thing they only do at night because we arrived for check in 3pm and all areas were blocked off except an area in the back of the hotel I don’t know if they have a towing policy in place, but I assume they do this in order to prevent people, who are not guests, from parking there However, it is such an inconvenience for your guests If that is the case, why not implement a parking policy where guest are given a paper to put on the dash and others can be towed I don’t understand why else the entrances would be blocked off Also seems like a safety risk if there were to be an emergency! Overall my stays are always great and quiet This is the only issue

I would highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling for business or pleasure The staff are so friendly and helpful, they really made my stay extra special Juan, Robert, Ricky, Paola, Gabby, Desma, Shelly, and the breakfast grill chefs always have a smile and always ready to serve you

The happy hour in the lobby from 5-7:30 is FANTASTIC!!!! I can’t say enough about this place, and will never stay anywhere else while I’m traveling

I have been staying at Marriott properties for over 20 years and loyalty has its benefits Front of house registration was extremely nice, actively engaged in conversation The property itself nestled in a nice area conveniently next to H

EB grocery store and moments away from Intersate 2 with plenty of dining options Check them out!

I can’t give zero stars Let me preface this by saying the property did offer me a different room, but since the room I was offered also smelled of mold, I declined I was hoping maintenance would do something about the smell the following morning

It was the following morning I found the cockroachFront desk clerk Robert was extremely rude And the manager could not care less I did tell her that I would write a review, she found my comment amusing and told me to do what I needed to do So here’s the review

daniel espino

Robert, the person ant the front desk was extremely rude and disrespectful we were traveling with our kid with autism and after we checked in we were listening to him laughing with someone else about Kyle our Son, we decided to cancel our reservation and stay somewhere else, really disappointed about Marriott and their employees I will never stay again at this property that makes fun of kids with mental disabilities

The comfort of the bed/pillows was great, but I wasn’t sure how well the room had been cleaned because I found a used bath towel hanging behind the bathroom door Also, I’m glad that I always carry my own bath essentials because not once was the bath gel filled during my 2 day stay As well as, only one toilet tissue(the ones on the roll itself) was available

My sister, who stayed with me, was puzzled that her bottom sheets were pulled back underneath the comforter(not extended?)The Breakfast and the personnel there were awesome However the male clerk when I checked in wasn’t very welcoming and when I called him from my room and told him about the dirty towel left behind the door, all he said was, “oh, I’m sorry” I had to tell him to send someone to pick it up and bring extra towels This was something that I was giving him ample time to suggest, but never did

Juan Perez

The owner yelled at me in front of the hotel for walking my dog before checkout He was upset because I had brought my dog in even though I had stayed there two nights and no one ever told me dogs weren’t allowed When I told him this he told me to review the policy and instead of leaving it at that he called the cops on me

I was beyond disappointed in front of other guests by the owner and when I told him I was going to call for help to their line he said “call them and tell them how rude I was” seemingly mocking me He then locked me out if my room while the cops arrived They charged me 500 dollars for the pet fee Do not stay here!

Johanna Valenzuela

I called in to inquire about a price for a hotel for the night and the person who answered the phone at 10:33pm on 03/18/2022 was EXTREMELY RUDE When I called back to get the details of her name she REFUSED I called four times and she continued to place me on hold to not give her name

I really enjoy staying at Holiday inn branches and it was very disappointing to not be able to book a room due to a lack of customer service I really hope management can address this issue in order for future guest

Nice rooms and amenities Well cared for Staff was super awesome! We booked one night and the next day needed a late check out to address business

Then, we suddenly needed to stay two additional nights but the suite we were in had already booked so they gave us a room right across the hall so moving over would be easy We had need to interact with the desk staff who were great! Brianna, the bartender, was super friendly and crafted special drinks for us, then recommended a great place for dinner We needed to use the laundry room since we hadn’t planned for 3 nights and were pleasantly surprised to find complimentary laundry soap and dryer sheets in a super clean laundry room Then, circumstances required us to need another late check out and they were quick to accommodate Great Job Hilton Garden Inn, McAllen!

This wasn’t a bad hotel experience, but there was room for improvement Some of the negatives:-Some of the facilities seems older and outdated, such as the tub drain that took a decent amount of work to open up-There were small cracks in the paint and stains on the carpet

-When I arrived in my room, I had to manually pull the mini-fridge out from the cabinet to plug it into the wall-Every ice machine in the hotel was out of orderOn the other hand, some of the positives:-Fairly clean and comfortable room-Pleasant staff, including the front desk, the bar, and housekeeping-Solid internet-Good location if you’re visiting the areaOverall, I would recommend this hotel, but I don’t think it should be a #1 pick Instead, I think it serves as a perfect backup option

Great location near tons of shopping and restaurants Definitely had everything we needed on our little Business trip Super clean and great staff our only complaint was the water pressure was below par

It was definitely Disappointing especially since it was over a 100° each day of our visit Better shower would have got them five stars

Nice place, the front desk staff was very friendly and respectful, although it was undergoing exterior remodeling, the room is large and the bed comfortable Just two observations about my stay… *there are two photos of owls that make you feel very uncomfortable… *and in the bathtub had facial hair on it, as if someone had shaved in the bathtub I had to wash it as I would be bathing my baby

Nelva Salazar

Room very nice and cleanRequested a rollaway bed and wasn’t sure what to expect but it was comfortable and fit perfectly beside one of the beds and wallNo issues or complaints with the hotel room;includes a nice size TV, microwave, keurig and fridge

DO NOT RESERVE AT THIS PLACE!!!! They discriminate individuals looking for work with disabilities, how is one supposed to support themselves with places such as these who don’t even give people chances Laws states as such “The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities and guarantees equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities in employment, transportation, public accommodations, state and local government services, and telecommunications” Until they get it right and educated, I will spread a bad words towards this place!!

We had an awesome 9 night stay here! I’ve never stayed in a hotel that smelled so well It smells like Coach Poppy perfume, but not overpowering The beds and pillows were very comfortable, house keepers always on their A-game, front desk was very helpful in navigating the area, the rates were very reasonable, and the breakfast selection was one of the largest I’ve seen

The food was definitely above average for hotel breakfast The entire property was clean and quiet They also offer shuttle service not just to the airport, but anywhere in a 5 mile radius Property is in a fantastic location as far as being close to everything 10/10 recommend staying with them!

First time here and absolutely loved it! Will book here for future visits Continental breakfast was splendid with great variety Rooms were wonderful as well as cleaning staff

Only issue I had was the crib I requested at time of booking was not there and also not brought to room when I requested at front desk but we made it work on the king size bed with son sleeping on couch bed which he preferred anyways

Only down fall is the air in the indoor pool area I can’t enjoy more than 10 minutes the chlorine is so strong that you can’t breathe Wish gym-pool was open longer due to our days we sleep and up at night

But everyone is friendly and understands that my child is special needs, so i clean room (did housekeeping for 12 year’s) so no worries with my son Im a very loud person 🤣 and everyone is very friendly best time over all here spent looking for house’s and visiting family Just make sure you wipe the washer out and seal and door and the dispenser for soap my child is highly allergic to some laundry soaps and he was admitted to hospital for reaction but that’s only thing really iffy be nice to have a spray and rags to clean before using like at laundry mats I will definitely be staying here againn in Dec-January for the 2 weeks we have to be here

I think the lady said her name was Rosie Don’t want to say much except was not happy Sometimes you just have some bad vibes on the service you recieve doing checkin End up with a room that was not satisfactory and of course they will tell you they are sold out when you hit the front desk to ask for a different room Also another issue not with this location but for all those Titanium members , silver , gold , or platinum that qualify for free upgrades Does not matter what time of day you book or enter the hotel and when you ask them any free Titanium membership upgrades? You’ll get the same answer 95% of the time ” so sorry we are out ” so those benefits they claim 🤔 Trying requesting service though the app is also a joke I’m so vested in this wish I should have chosen the Hilton app 😩

Listen I lived here for nearly 10 months and have nothing but positive things to say Front desk agents are always friendly and going that extra mile for their guests

The kitchen staff works hard and puts good meals together The maintenance team actually fixes things when they break This is how a hotel should be ran I loved my time here and you will too Thank you!!

This hotel needs a major renovation Only 1 elevator which is extremely slow Walls were super thin – our neighbor arrived to their room at 1am and proceeded to have a long and loud phone call, so we did not get a great nights sleep

Shuttle is not 24 hour – our flight arrived after 11pm, so we had to get a taxi We booked this hotel BECAUSE it had an airport shuttle

The hotel itself isn’t terrible, but my room was I stayed here for 2 days with family, and other family members had a better room than ours There were holes in the curtains and lamp shades, which is such an easy fix, but very off-putting

They did offer to move me to a different room but I didn’t feel like packing all my stuff There is no room service unless you ask for it And they only give you 2 towels, and bare bones toiletries So if you’re staying for more than 1 day, you have to go to the front desk and beg for towels The hotel itself is not bad, just dated It’s clean enough and the staff are friendly This place was $30 a night cheaper than some of the other comparable hotels, but I’ll just pay the extra $30 next time I really hope they just make some cheap and easy fixes to the rooms which would make this place totally decent

The beds were very comfortable The breakfast buffet was excellent Alyssa was very helpful when I had a question

The coffee station was great with hazelnut coffemate and the dark roast Loved having the extra towels and most of all the safety grab bars in the shower made me feel safe when taking my shower The front staff was prompt and fancy Thanks for everything Will definitely be back when in the Rio Grande Valley

Being a diamond member, I tend to stay at lots of hotels for extended periods of time and I can say for certain, it’s not the hotel that makes for a great stay but the staff This hotel has and had some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced From (Fmr) manager Ms Angie learning the names of guests, so she’s not referring to everyone as sir/ma’am to Ms Nancy making sure breakfast is enjoyable to genuinely wishing you a great rest of your day

Let’s not forget Ms Alyssa,, Alma & Sureiimy who often step in during breakfast on the weekends and also do room service cleaning Absolute precision and friendliness all around Of course there are improvements that can be made but overall, I have enjoyed my stay here The above mentioned staff made it so along with several others I’d most certainly be back and hopefully staff is just as great then too
