I had the pleasure of staying at Best Western at the end of April 2022 The hotel is as pictured, beds are comfortable, and rooms are clean The cleaning staff was very polite and helpful in any and ever request

I recall one morning coming in and seeing the manager, Jason, on a tall ladder dusting the lights and chandeliers Everything about the stay was amazing, except for Daphne My aunt (who has had numerous knee surgeries) needed extra sheets She went to the front desk to obtain them, but Daphne would not unlock the door to grant access from the side Therefore my aunt had to walk around to the front Soon after, I discovered our room key did not work and had to go to the front desk I went to the same side door and knocked Daphne would not open the door and also required me to walk around She provided the blanket and reset my room key without saying a word to us I had to ask her to open the side door to let us out so my aunt did not have to walk back around The stay was amazing, except for Daphne

I an not a fan of hotels with exterior room doors, but the location and price was the reason I selected this hotel I was EXTREMELY pleased with our stay! Jason greeted us as soon as we walked in and was able to accommodate us even though we did not have a prior reservation and housekeeping staff was low The room was very clean and was fully stocked with the usual complementary shampoo, lotion, bar soap, coffee and fixings

Beds were comfortable, hot water was hot and AC was cold I want to absolutely give a shout out to the Front Office Manager Jason because we observed him performing a number of extra duties including cleaning and painting the pool area (evidently maintenance workers are in shortage also) Would definitely stay there again!

Stayed here as a last resort Stayed in room 126 on the 3rd of June and fly home that same day I was only there for a few ours until I my flight that morning

I get home and today find bedbugs in my luggage I’ve stayed in literally 100s of hotels in my life and not once have I gotten bed bugs except the one time I had to stay in this dump

Quick overnight for businessWas in town for a quick overnight and this property was very affordable I am always concerned about the budget properties, but this one I could recommend I checked in after 9 pm so I had to use the bullet-proof window

The exterior of the hotel is not very inviting but I booked based on the reviews saying the rooms were goodThe room was clean – that is great The A/C was very old and hard to read the controls but it worked admirably The lighting in the shower was WAY too dim Room 205, The bed was a king and was adequate I would recommend for the rate paid

Diontae Scott

The rooms are very nice and clean (best in Monroe for the price) So 100% recommend because the rooms are good My only problem was when we first stayed, the front desk person questioned me as if I really was not a disabled Veteran just because I didn’t have a handicap sticker

And I had to PROVE I was disabled so I did appreciate that because disability comes in different ways, not just physical! Then our next stay (because we didn’t let one bad experience ruin our stay here because it is nice) but we only had 1 wash towel and 2 dry towels But when I asked for more towels, I was only given 2 towels I guess he said that was more than enough He never asked what I needed, just handed me towels And yes it was the same guy from our first experience so it was no surprise Each time as well, he was ALWAYS on the phone No matter if you’re the owner or a regular employee, you give a customer your full attention! Not answer me and your phone call question at the same time That’s my reasoning for the 3 stars on service and stay though But the rooms are good! I will still continue to stay for that reason only

S Fairbairn

The price is great, the rooms are clean, and the staff very pleasant and helpful The beds and pillows are comfortable and the rooms are spacious I felt safe here and would stay again

The only suggestion I would have is to distance the workers staying from the couples as the workers get up around 5am and are quite noise when they leave But this could be Impossible to know workers from couplesOver all great stay and would highly recommend

The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had Lots of yummy options We had 4 kids with us and they were all pleased

Amy was working the breakfast area and she was super nice and so hospitable She even brought some fresh bacon to our table directly Everyone should be so lucky to start their day with Amy and that awesome breakfast

Miss Perez

The staff was very kind, helpful and friendly! The breakfast was decent, the biscuits were the best item However, the hotel was a major disappointment and not at all like it’s pictured or portrayed in reviews The room was not thoroughly cleaned

There were dust balls on the carpet and hair everywhere! Hair on the toilet seat, hair in the tub and hair on the pillow cases Very disgusting The elevator didn’t work on the day we were checking out so we had to carry our infant and his stroller along with all of our bags down 3 flights of stairs

Sherri Seely

We stayed at this location on our way through town and had a great experience I have to recognize Kimberly and her amazing hospitality in the dining area! She asked how our stay was and confirmed if we needed anything extra to make our time there any more comfortable I greatly appreciate this level of customer service as she is a great asset to your location! Thank you!

Clean and decent roomWhat made this a 5 star stay was breakfast I could tell there is some good planning, thought, and a lot of hard work put into it

Hot eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, grits, juice, coffee… even waffles and oatmeal Above and beyond early and tasty too Fantastic

J C

Great people Great service Dwayne made sure that he treated us more than fair while we stayed there

He’s dedicated to doing business the honest way We prepaid but had to leave sooner than expected due tounforeseen circumstances He offered to give us a refund without us even asking There’s no fancy bells and whistles here but the owners are great and everything is kept clean and in working order We felt safe enough to let our kids play outside by themselves

Katie

Wonderful experience staying at Bayou Boeuf The owner is very friendly and welcoming From the time we called to book to the time we pulled out- he was nothing but helpful and kind

They have conveniently located shower houses and laundry on site They have quarters at the front office for the laundry The campground is kept clean and free of trash Overall, it was a perfect stay and I’d recommend

Michelle Davenport

We just left a stay at Bayou Boeuf It is a simple campground operated by a very friendly husband and wife team All sites are full hook up, mostly 50 amp, with one row of 30

There are several full timers there, but plenty of open spots for visitors They have three or four “cabins” (really small trailers with wood siding) to rent that are very cute from the outsideThere is a washer/dryer room onsiteIt is right on the highway and near a train track so expect plenty of noise But, for the price, the friendliness of the people there and the proximity to towns, you can put up it!

I’m only giving this a 3 because of a few things The staff downstairs is awesome in trying their best to accommodate the guests What I have an issue with is the level of cleanliness here

We had to change both bedding’s, we also found a prior guest sock that was left The bathroom had something splattered on the bottom that looked like vomit or food The breakfast was ok Until improvements are made, the price should be lowered at least by $50 The “name” is why the price is this way it is, and probably to get as many guest as possible I’ve stayed at less expensive hotels and had a better experience I honestly didn’t like having to clean my room as if I’m house keeping myself Let’s do better!!!!

Mary Barras

I wish there was an option to leave zero stars The hotel itself is older but decent It is just not ran well

Me and my mother split the room charge Both of us were charged $75 At 4:30 in the morning my moms card was automatically charged again The staff finally did look up and see we were overcharged but they could not refund it They said they would email the manager, but they didn’t seem confident she would be responding any time soon because she hadn’t responded to their other emails about the police showing up or problems with rooms The assistant manager was also unavailable Customer care can not help because the properties are independently owned and operated They can not provide a name for the owner Rooms are not kept stocked The staff was sitting behind the desk eating Chick-fil-A while the breakfast bar went unattended There was enough eggs for one guest, 2 sausage patties, one bagel, 3 pieces of toast and an empty refrigerator section this is what was out at 7:00 Breakfast had only opened up at 6:30 I would have filed a complaint with the BBB, but they are not accredited I’m not too picky I don’t care that the rooms had popcorn ceilings or that the gym was wrapped in plastic like it was abandoned 20 years ago But, basic customer service is lacking There is no one who seems to care or even be held accountable I have no doubt the overcharge will eventually be refunded Someone said they would sleep in their car before they stayed here again I second that

Rutagi Mund

A great place if you want to set a romantic mood Wingate is located next to the movie theater Tinseltown and a plethora of other amenities Receptionist was polite and professional

The room was clean and the A/C worked properly For some reason you had to bring your own body wash because there was only shampoo in the bathroom Besides that everything else was fine

Great place to stay Check in was easy and personnel were SO NICE and helpful The coffee and cookies at check in were a great treat

The breakfast was good and had some very nice options like hot oatmeal, grits and omelettes You even get to pick between regular or blueberry waffles! The bed was comfortable The downside for me was the smell in our room It smelled like dirty feet, everything was clean but just had this lingering smell that really bothered me

jeff miller

In our 4 state travel, best hotel we stayed in, by far Premises were in great shape and clean Smelled nice even!Clean everything, up to date decor, friendly people, good breakfast selection

Great bed, nice roomsOnly negative thing I would say is it had poor shower heads Not even water pressure problems Just a really bad shower head

Rachel Frazier

Showed up to find out the only room left for my reservation was 3rd floor and no elevators worked No heads up or anything then to get to the room which had the hardest beds, worst pillows and sheets had hair on them The bathroom was what crusty shower I wouldn’t let my kids bathe, we got out first thing

My kids said breakfast was OK but I couldn’t get over the room to trust the food The walls are so thin I was up all nice listening to everyone on every floor slam their doors If you need sleep, do not here

We only stayed the night while traveling through We got in late and the hotel lobby clerk was attentive, super friendly and very helpful There was people hanging out having fun outside, on the patio

The atmosphere was fun and welcoming The rooms were immaculate Nice and cool inside, and very homey feeling This is the perfect place to stop with your family & it’s fabulous that they allow animals as well I would definitely stay again and recommend to others

Lisa Franklin

Excellent all around If ever in the area again, I will want to stay again at this hotel Room was comfortable, clean and inviting

Staff was polite and helpfulNext time, I might request a room not on the pool side though as people were down there late and I had to put in earbuds to drown out their voices I did love the view of the pool as opposed to the parking area/ mall thoughI love that it is located in the mall area close to shops and food Driving around much isn’t necessary at this location

Sadie Statham Loaiza

Shame this only shows 2☆ Hotel I’ve been to true 2 star hotels and they’re really awful This hotel, however, was really nice!! Pleasant fragrance of CLEAN when you walk through the entrance and instantly greeted by friendly staff

Checked in with ease Room was on point too! Simple but effective: mini kitchen with fridge freezer, microwave, mini oven/stove, dishwasher and sink! Two closets Bright and fresh bathroom Bed was super comfy giving me a good night’s sleep If I’m working in Monroe again, this makes a great choice

Great place to stay! Nice clean rooms family like staff and great breakfast!!! The staff was great especially because before we left we spilled gas in the back of my car and then my husband put our bag on top of where the gas was split and our clothes ended up smelling like gas really bad and the guy at the front desk let us wash our clothes to get the smell out of our clothes!!! I just thought that it was amazing of him to let us use the washer and dryer

E C

Door to the room didn’t close Black mold on shower curtain, sink was stuck in closed position Propped it open so it could drain

Stopper to the tub was missing I got very congested while in the room, but better after I left outMade waffle for breakfast downstairs and it tasted sour Tried a few bites but didn’t get better Threw it out So gross2 stars because the staff was pleasant

Sgt Peppers 7642

The only complaint that I have is that the elevator was out the night we stayed thereComfort Inn is my favorite place to stay The rooms are always clean

The beds are made The A/C worksBut my old fat crippled arse had to lug a suitcase of my special orthopedic pillows up to the 2nd floor If I would have to go up to the third floor, I’d probably still be laying dead on those stairs

Staff here is very welcoming The hotel itself is not bad but not what you expect from a Marriott It’s just a bit outdated

You can tell it’s an older building, inside and out There is also no outside sitting area that is normal at a Courtyard Even though the room was clean it was not spotless like a Marriott Courtyard normally is Had to do a small amount of cleaning in the shower area and take off the top stained bed skirt Also not sure why but the Bistro was only opened during breakfast or closed everything I checked to get some dinner during my 3 nights there The doors were very loud as well They do not soft close Every time someone near you enters a room you hear the door slam shut

Evelyn Moncada

For the 2 nights we stayed, I gave it a 4 star review due to not having a microwave in the room, no trash cans at all, no complementary breakfast, and every time we walked down to the lobby Starbucks was closed! Besides those 4 things our stay was GREAT! Room was smelling good, cleaning was 110% and quiet enough to get a good nights sleep and not one stench of cigarette smoke Microwaves are a must for my family, we travel for games and we always pack microwaveable foods/snacks Had some cranky kids when mac and cheese cups, pizza rolls, and breakfast sandwiches were not able to be made LOL!

Charles Logwood

I would be sure to NEVER stay at this establishment again I came in town on a busy weekend to bury my dad and every hotel in Monroe and West Monroe was booked except for this place which was last result Upon checking in, I found a black wallet on the floor beside the couch which shows just how well the room was cleaned

Later that night, I showered just to find out there was no hot water in the shower, only Luke warm, borderline cold!! Not to mention the AC felt like it needed coolant I didn’t complain that night because it was only two rooms when I checked in and I knew it wasn’t another room available However, I did mention it to the front desk on Sunday morning upon check out & was told that a manager would be in contact with me Wednesday came and I had yet to receive a call so I decided to call and leave another message with the front desk, this time at both hotels managed by MIKE I finally got a call from Mike regarding my stay and he was the most unprofessional human being I’ve ever spoken with I was told that front desk staff stated I was aggressive about my stay (which I wasn’t but had every right to be after such an uncomfortable stay) and that the room I stayed in haven’t had complaints before me and I probably just want my money back After telling him how unprofessional he was handling the situation and that I would be to be contacting corporate, I was told that he’ll call the police and make sure I never stay there again right before hanging up in my face If I could give 0 stars I would because this place doesn’t deserve even 1

Laura

I recently stayed here with my dog Jordan was the kind, friendly, and helpful lady who checked us in She was awesome! Upon entering the room it smelled fresh and clean and I didn’t see any evidence that it wasn’t clean

However, the rooms definitely need some maintenance It is evident they have done quick fixes for caulking, patching, and paint, and it just looks cheap It was unfortunate that there was no designated area for me to walk my dog or area where they had pet waste bags, but luckily I had my own The breakfast spread was quite large and very good Overall I had a great stay, but there definitely needs to be maintenance updates to the hotel

Tom Davenport

From the time we checked in until we left, we enjoyed our stay The entire facility was clean and comfortable Our room was no exception

The furnishings were good with ample space We liked the walking trail located across the parking lot from the hotel The breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, and gravy with waffles and cereal also being options I would definitely stay there again

Teresa Deedon

One night stay was okay but I do not recommend this property Location is good and building is the newer style LaQuinta but this hotel has been used hard and not maintained Elevator broke after we got upstairs and remained out of service for our stay

Carpet was dirty and badly snagged in several places Baseboard in bathroom was falling off and just laying in the floor Floor tiles in elevator were broken with pieces just laying there Overall cleanliness was fair Two stars for location and fair enough for an overnight
