Great customer service Clean room Wonderful, central location

Parking lot fully lit and safe If ever in Birmingham again, will definitely stay hereAn aside, the hallways and elevators are very warm and humid Definitely a turnoff, as was trying to get the room cool enough We were told this was due to a new system installed that pulls air from the outside – not great when it’s July in Alabama! Overall, though, very pleased!!!

This hotel is beautiful and in a quiet area When we arrived and checked in, there was an issue with our room Nelson at the front desk accommodated us quickly and made sure we were comfortable for our stay

The breakfast had many options and we were very pleased Kelsey and the main cook were very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of Their hospitality made celebrating our special occasion an even more joyous event Definitely recommend this hotel

Bill Fortenberry

The hotel personnel were amazing They were very professional and friendly Unfortunately, the building itself seems to be suffering from some structural issues

There was a large dip in the middle of the floor of our room, and the floor of the bathroom was so off level that the toilet lid would not stay up and the sliding door for the shower would not stay closedWe at breakfast at the hotel “restaurant,” but we would have been better off eating somewhere else There was not a free breakfast provided, and we would have had no issue with paying for a decent meal, but the food was the exact same fare that we would have gotten for free at any other hotel in the area It was also annoying that breakfast was served an hour later on Saturday than on FridayWe did appreciate the fact that the clientele at this hotel are mostly business leaders as opposed to vacationers The hallways were very quiet, and we did not have any disturbances during the night Overall, it was a good stay, but I don’t think we’ll be back given the structural problems and the lack of a real restaurant

Let me start by saying this was my first time staying at a place like this! When I pulled up I thought it was an apartment complex not a “hotel” per say! But it was nice and perfect for a family trip The staff that we came in contact with our first night there for check in were AMAZING I can’t remember her name but she just started recently! She was bubbly and very sweet and made me excited to get a room there But the staff the next day not so much! Our shower was TERRIBLE! The shower head was broken all the way off and the water shot out with very high pressure and it was crooked!! It was pretty rough and when I brought it up at the desk I was told by the change of staff that all they could do was tell maintenance about it

That was the sour part of the trip! Besides that everything else was fine

Tiffany Manes

The room was not cleaned from the people before us Trash in the trash can, skid marks in the toilet, and beds not made up We showed up with 4 tired kids I made up the beds myself and just dealt with it for the night

Too tired to make a fuss, but I had to write a review to warn others Also the locks on the door were broken The deadbolt didn’t work and the top bar lock was broken off, so we slept with a chair under the doorknob and the couch pushed up against it We got the 2 bedroom suite for $100 The beds were very comfortable The front desk was very nice when we checked in There is no breakfast though so don’t count on that

Tokyo Blues Man

Booked a room for my boss that came from Japan on my credit card Then, when I checked him in, my boss presented his credit card and told the clerk to charge his credit card and not mineWell, what do you know! They charged his room on both of our credit cards – they double charged us!I called and requested them to reimburse/credit my card and the same clerk said “no problem”

A month later, it was never credited So, I called again and they gave me a run-around So, I had to call the head office And they gave me a run-around, too So, I had to deal with my credit card company, and by then, they told me it was too late to do anything about itI used to refer this hotel to all of the people visiting from Japan but NO MORE I will NOT use this hotel ever again!

Staff was super friendly and helpful Hotel is in a great location and off of the main road, so it feels like a “getaway” The pool was fantastic

They have a basketball court and even will provide you with a basketball, which made my kids very happy Room was spotless and quiet Bathroom was spotless and the water was nice and hot with great water pressure Thank you for making our trip wonderful!

Robert McDonald

Pulling up the place looks great Nice building and grounds Check in and lobby are nice

Staff is amazing, very welcoming The bad is the rooms They are dated and dirty We had just drove 8hrs on the way to the beach and needed to stop for the night We let our twins play on the floor after checking for anything laying around After 20 mins they had black feet and knees So time for a bath Tub needs resurfaced Overall it’s OK, breakfast was great They just need a little help with cleaning and some updates Beds were clean and comfortable Flood light outside bedroom was odd but blackout shades worked well

Tim Grass

The suite was spacious and clean Seconds away from groceries, Starbucks, gas and more The staff was extremely friendly and helpful

The complimentary breakfast was better than many other hotels Pre-maid egg omelettes with veggies, sausage, potatoes, fresh waffles with chocolate chips or walnuts or strawberries, pastries, cereal, grits, etc A great stay

I have been employed with Hilton in the past and have enjoyed working dual property Hampton’s in Tuscaloosa, AL for 3 years I applied for the Night Auditor position the last week in Feb and was hired on 02/23/22 (terminated on 04/29/2022)

The Assistant General Manager, Marcus Gordon, called me at 9:00 pm on a Sunday evening to schedule an interview That was the first red flag but I needed employment so I did not make it a huge deal I was employed at this property for 90 days before being wrongfully terminated The General Manager, Karen Jacob, fired me about 30 minutes shy of 3:00pm after working a night audit shift that morning The management team at this property is defective and below par to say the least There is no communication between the team members and management and it shows In the 3 months that I was hired here not 1 of the employees from any department had ANYTHING nice to say about Karen There has been multiple accusations of stealing of money by management and maintenance from numerous staff members I experienced 3 different encounters of theft of my personal items while being employed at this location The GM does not directly deal with confrontation, she doesn’t come out of her office and will literally, deliberately ignore guests concerns and allow her phone to ring with no intentions of answering The management team at this property portrays a facade of concern and compassion for their team members but that is most certainly not the case Marcus, the assistant GM, faithfully gossips about team members and constantly makes jokes about terminating members of the staff I would never in a million years recommend working at this property to my worst enemy If I could leave anything lower than 1 star I would leave the rating in the negative

Belinda Forman

The room was very clean I was disappointed that they didn’t serve a free breakfast and they didn’t offer coffee in the lobby throughout the day The coffee maker in the room did not work but then when I was able to pour water through it it was nasty

It was like dirty and nastyThat was very comfortable The room was very nice I would stay here again anytime

Dawn Swinford

999% of the employees were super friendly and nice Wasn’t too excited about the waitress, but she was they only one, and was quite busy, so I understood and won’t complain

The waffle I ordered was undercooked, but again, I didn’t complain Was disappointed that there was no continental breakfastThere was no hand soap of any kind in our bathroom Wasn’t happy about thatWhen checking out, my husband had a couple minor complaints about not having enough towels or pillows The lady at the desk said that they didn’t realize that there was more than 1 guest in that room, since there was only 1 name on the card Uhm WHAT? Really? When I made the reservation, I specifically said it was for 3 adults and 1 child That’s why I had to pay extra More people Overall, not really happy I expected more from the name Hilton It was ok But still everyone was super nice and friendly and helpful

Melissa Mullin-Steuer

Very nice front desk staff Very helpful and work hard to provide superior customer service Breakfast was fresh and well stocked at all times

Food was very good for a free breakfast offering! The women in charge of the breakfast area was very sweet and asked to clear plates and kept everything filled and clean She was also super nice and answered questions we had about local weather as a winter storm was expected on our drive home to Philadelphia All staff frequently asked us if we needed anything and how our stay was You could tell they really cared and wanted you to have a nice stay at the hotel The rooms were updated and VERY clean Housekeeping was AMAZING! They went above and beyond not just to change sheets and give fresh towels but they tidied up our room as well (putting shoes nicely lined up in closet, wrapping up hair dryer cord etc) Everything was also very clean! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this location!

Mary Ada

Andrea at the front desk was always welcoming with a warm and genuine smile, and would greet us upon each encounter As the face of the hotel, you could have not chosen a better representative than her Kudos to her and her exceptional hospitality!Breakfast each morning was equally as delightful

I did not get the name of our breakfast attendant, but she was also equally as pleasant each morning She asked if she could be of assistance and made sure we had everything we needed Items were restocked quickly and efficiently, and the breakfast area was always tidyWith all of the challenges that the hospitality industry faces in these times, it is a breath of fresh air to encounter a team that takes pride in what they do Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Marqua Collins

If I could leave this review 100 stars I absolutely would!! The entire staff is welcoming, friendly and professional Jasmine, the front desk rep who checked me in was very informative and knowledgeable about the area and the hotel and an all around sweetheart Special thanks to their Housekeeping staff as well!!! My room was so spotless that I COULD’VE eaten off of the floor haha lol

The morning I checked out the breakfast staffed had a full spread prepared, everything was so fresh and delicious This hotel will most certainly be my go-to spot anytime I’m in Birmingham 🙂

We go into town a little early, but our room was ready at 1pm and very clean We were very appreciative to check in early in the middle of our soccer tournament day At the end of the day we enjoyed the pool for several hours and at dinner poolside

The area was very clean The kids had some hot chocolate in the lobby on the way up to the room Thanks so much to the night staff on 8/20 that was very patient with our kiddos The gentleman at the front was so kind and helpfulOur room was very clean The beds were cozy and the air conditioning was cold It was very spacious for my daughter and I The bathroom area was also very cleanBreakfast the next day started at 7, but hot coffee was available at 615 The breakfast area was crowded but there was mostly enough seating for everyone Yogurt, breads, eggs, sausage, waffles, fresh blueberries, and waffles were availableWe had a great stay Thanks so much!

Amy LaBellarte

Had a wonderful stay there! We traveled from Chicago so my daughter could visit friends in the area Got there on Thursday night and the girl behind the desk was very nice Rooms were exceptionally clean

We stayed til Saturday morning and then traveled on to Louisiana for a wrestling show my husband was working On our way back from Louisiana we had to stop back to drop a friend off and we had no problems staying there again The guy behind the desk this time went above and beyond to accommodate us He saw I had knee brace on and offered me a wheelchair to get up to our room Rooms again were exceptionally clean Such a nice place to stay My family and I have decided that the next time we visit we will definitely stay there again

Shawanda Thompson Chapman

The hotel was ok and some the staff were nice However PLEASE pay attention the your credit card statement once you’ve checked out My card was charged FIVE times for ONE room

Once contacted the manager on duty apologized but was uninterested in explaining why or how this had happened He asked if I give five days and call back to see if the charges were gone Just horrible in my opinion I’m a Hilton Honors member and he offered nothing for the inconvenience that this has caused me

It first of all started with amazing Customer service when we arrived on Friday I wish I could remember his name but he was so kind and helpful I had my seven-year-old daughter with me and he catered to her as she was the one paying

He made sure she knew where the pool was and then put us in a room overlooking the pool so she could see it, then gave her the key to hold, and just made us feel welcomed The breakfast was delicious, especially the scrambled eggs The room was so clean and perfect for what we needed The room was quiet, the air conditioning was amazing and cold We slept like babies The entire staff from front desk, housekeeping, breakfast and check out was great The hallways smelled so clean and fresh The only SMALL complaint was the toilet seat was too small for the toilet which was very weird We will 100 percent stay there again

Ana G.

We had a wonderful stay here This is the closest hotel to Barber Motorsports Park The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful

There is hot coffee and hot water (for tea or cocoa) in front of the front counter all day long The breakfast available was simple: scrambled eggs, sausage links/patties, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, and make your own waffles The perfect way to start your day before hitting the track

Steve Lacol

The staff was top notch, the property is Class A, everything worked, breakfast was greatBut the real show stopper was the front desk manager, Lakisha, who just beamed hospitality and went out of her way, in every way, to make it a great stay DEFINITELY COMING BACK

Rosita was the manager of the breakfast area and she was wonderful She was constantly busy making sure the breakfast area had what it needed She was especially attentive to the guests We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again

CHRISTOPHER TOMPKINS

Refrigerator doesn’t get cold Air conditioner doesn’t work well at all My phone didn’t work at all so I was a few hours late to work bc my phone had died

Beds are very uncomfortable! I traded rooms and the second one was even worse! Only good thing is the shower and instant hot water Would not recommend at all!!! Update to owner- the hotel is in dire need of an update! I’m not going to contact you further through a link you send to me, take out some of your personal time and go check your property out, that would be the professional thing to do sir or ma’am 👍 ty and best of luck!

Tara Jean Minard

My husband and I checked in onApril 22, 2022 Upon entering the room we discovered that the bathroom floor was extremely sticky We didn’t report this because we figure that when they came to the room to change the towels and empty the trash ( which we requested) it would take care of We vacated the room about about 6:15am Saturday morning and did not return until about 9:30pm that night

We found no towels were replace and the floor was still sticky And no trash was emptiedWe also heard an airplane taking off from the air conditioner I attempted to call the front desk three different time all of which were never answered (it rang until the line disconnected and went to a dial tone) I got redressed and went down to the front desk to have to yell for assistance We he came out from the back he didn’t know what could be done because the hotel was full(which I understand) When I told him that I want a response by 10pm (it was 9:50 currently) he said (quote) that ain’t going to happen!” I walked away and told him that I expected a call by ten pm since he was going to have to contact them When he called the room he told us that they would look at it on Monday, this all happened on Saturday We asked for a fan, since it was 75 plus degrees, and he told us that there was only one fan for the hotel And we said that’s ok we NEED it When he brought the fan to the room we invited him on the so that he could hear the “plane” he said, quote “I can’t do anything I guess you will just have to complain!” That was my last straw–I called corporate and opened an investigation Oh corporate put me on hold and TRIED to connect the property and they couldn’t get through either To finish this comment, this terrible experience has not soured us on the Hilton family of hotels We will continue to stay at Hampton Inn just not at this location

This hotel is updated with most of the standard amenities you would expect Unfortunately my room lacked a microwave The standard beds were forgettable, very soft

Great location near dining and shipping, as well as easy access to I-459The indoor pool was heated and might have been too warm for some people Pool towels were also in short supply over the weekendCheck in was a little slow on a very busy (over booked, in fact, according to the staff) due to only one person working the check in desk

Kennedy George

While, I haven’t stayed at this hotel

I book reservations for many people at my company at this location I would like to say that Nicholas at the front desk has helped me so many times with lost receipts and changes, and he is always super friendly and accommodating and upbeat I talk to hotels around the world on a regular basis, and Nicholas is one of the best!

Robert Vander Voort

Stay was outstanding Beds were a little small as twin fulls Room very nice

HUGE problem was bathroom door Acted up first night with me in there Then again before check-out when daughter got stuck but I was finally able to get it Unfortunately for me, I still needed a shower and ended up getting stuck in there for like 30 minutes Maintenance had just left for the day and had to wait for them to get back Door was on tracks and came off several times Frosted glass door that left cracks when “closed” you could still see through No dad or daughter wants to see through to that And I surely didn’t want to get stuck for 30 minutes Door was still not on tracks when maintenance “fixed” VERY DISAPPOINTED And heard not a peep from hospitality of any consideration for a discount or comp for the inconvenience Locked in a bathroom for 30 minutes at a nice hotel after a hot shower was just ridiculous

Terrible stay! The room we stayed in was horrendous n honestly a waste of my money! There was hair everywhere from the bathroom to the bedroom The toilet had pee on it, there was a ring in the tub n it was clogged up badly! Food bag was found in the closet The hospitality was poor, had to ask for clean towels

This is suppose to be a 5star hotel, I honestly could have stayed somewhere cheaper n received better room service n so on 👎🏽

Melanie Metzger

Very friendly front desk employee The hotel is in need of updates badly The rooms are old and out dated

The TVs are tiny and ours wouldn’t work correctly Only like 5 channels on our TV worked The breakfast was awful All of the hot food was cold and we were down there before 9am Their juice machine was out of juices The pool closed early and opened late (this was the only reason we booked this hotel) On a weekend most hotel pools are open until 10 or 11pm Theirs closed at 8pm We stay at least 25+ nights a year at hotels and this was a first Our room was clean at least

David Brown

If I could give this negative stars I would My friends and I have been staying here every year during the Barber Vintage Festival and in this same hotel And it always been pretty good

This year over 3 nights stay we got no room cleaning and I still had to go downstairs to get fresh towels To top it off, they quoted us a good price for all 3 nights When we checked out they were unable to print out our receipt so we left and waited for an email receipt They only gave us the better rate one night and charged nearly double for the other 2 nights Even after being on the phone for hours they wouldn’t budge So unless you like getting robbed in a dirty hotel, don’t stay here

The hotel needs some updating, hence the 4 out of 5My phone call to book the room was the most horrible experience ever I think they use a third party, at least for when they’re busy If this review was only based on that, I would give it zero stars When I was done w the phone call I was angry and exhausted They took 15 minutes and kept trying to get me to sign up for a bunch of things Plus they were super pushy and when I asked how much the room rate was she made me listen to a whole spiel for 7 minutes before she would give me the price I can’t explain it, you just have to call at a busy time and see for yourself

Read the reviews prior to booking THEY ARE LIES Do NOT book this hotel

1 The room door handle came off in our hand2 The air conditioner leaked all over the floor (3rd floor) Yes The floor under the air conditioner was saturated and we witnessed water dripping down the cord We worried about mold3 Dirty bedspread and holes in the blankets4 The hallway carpets are FILTHY5 The room, hallway, and elevator smelled like smoke6 Mold in the ice machine Obviously we did not useThe kicker was…when we nicely went back to the desk and asked for a different room and listed off the issues the owner was summonsed and stated before we could be given another room she had to see how much of the room we had used WE HAD JUST CHECKED IN!We did not have time to change hotels as we only had one half hour to spare until we were due at the Miss Alabama competitionSeriously Save yourself Do NOT book this hotel

Clean, comfortable room and friendly staff at front desk What more do you need from a hotel when traveling? Oh yeah – Good coffee that actually tasted like coffee – not the usual watered down stuff served at most hotels! That rated the 5th starHubby would prefer potatoes with his breakfast egg, but he’ll survive

Room was updated and clean The lamp on the desk and the clocks on both sides of the bed have electric receptacles aaaand charger receptacles, which was a very nice touch Great room at an okay price

Breakfast was okay I prefer hotel scrambled eggs over the microwaved “sunny side up” patty Fruit is gone fast, and not replenished Complimentary lemon water is available after breakfast, but not long into the evening They do have bottles of water for sale

Stayed at this hotel last night 3/11/22 Reserved 3 rooms, when we arrived one of the rooms was occupied by guests that should have checked out at 11 that day The room was smoked in and trashed

The police had to be called to have the occupants removed The front staff was amazing and cleaned the room and we finally checked in at 1am I’m leaving the poor review because of how the manager Kelvin treated us the next morning We asked to get a couple of the rooms comped for the huge inconvenience and he stated we were trying to take advantage of him and stay in the rooms for free He was very unprofessional and combative and should not be a manger of anything that pertains to customer service
