Love that they let me check in early (11am) at no charge! There was an Internet network issue on the day we stayed at the property (which I assume is a one off event) but besides that, no hiccups Helpful staff, spacious room (we had 2-queen beds) and great access to Yale and downtown New HavenOne recommendation would be to have complimentary water bottles to welcome guests, in addition to the water cooler at the reception (helpful for guests on the go)

Otherwise, highly recommend!

5 stars for an odd numbered room and 2 stars for an even numbered room Two day stay, first night was an even numbered room in the front of the building and didn’t get one second of sleep There were constant motor cycles screaming up and down the road right in front of the hotel

Stopping at the light and revving up their engines This happened over and over again It was as if the window was open We asked to switch rooms to the back of the building in which we had zero issues I’ve stayed in many hotels in my life all over the place and this hotel really NEEDS TO SOUND PROOF THEIR hotel, especially in the front I’ve stayed at airports, on highways, even at ocean beach San Diego at the end of the runway and I got more sleep there than this hotelThe positives? Great staff and bar area was open until 10 Great for hanging out Walking distance to Yale University, shops, and lots of nice restaurants Worth it if you have an odd numbered room or stayed in the back of the building

Keisha’s World

We were here for our Granddaughters weddingAs were most of the rest of the families involved Checking in the woman behind the counter was so sweet

We were checked in quickly and made our way to the room I loved the room design! The staff were all very friendly and helpful The hotel was just a couple miles from our daughter and son-in-law’s homeWhich was fantastic!Checking out was just as quick and easy as checking in

Kevin Thompson

Rough first impression No signage anywhere regarding after hours check in process so felt like the hotel was closed when I arrived Tried the unmarked phone and that seemed to ring the front desk so I was eventually checked in

As a first time guest some/any signage would have been super appreciatedDay 2 – called housekeeping line in the morning to request they fill the empty soap dispenser in the shower during room cleaning No answer Just ringsWent to meeting and came back to my room mid afternoon, housekeeping has not cleaned my room Called front desk and they said housekeeping leaves between 3-4pm so best they could do is schedule me for a room cleaning the next day and bring me new towels now so I said yes please They ask me when is best to clean the room, I say 10am so they confirm room to be cleaned tomorrow at 10amAn hour later, no towels and had to run out to dinner so called again Desk apologized and said they would be right up 30 minutes later as I’m leaving for dinner I walk by someone on the staff (not front desk) holding towels getting off the elevator I say thank you to this personDay 3 – Meet family for late breakfast in Southington Center Come back to my room at 12:15 and no housekeeping at 10am as promised Why set an expectation and then not meet it like this?Called the front desk “they are still cleaning” So I ask them to confirm they have my room down for cleaning today? Front desk says “yes, I put you down yesterday when we spoke” Yikes but okay, I’ll trust it’ll get done11pm – back to my room and no cleaning was done to the room At All None of the room trash cans were emptied They left fresh towels in the bathroom Ignored my notes on the front door and in the shower asking for them to please refill the empty dispenser All of my bed sheets were piled on the floorSo disappointed The hotel brand has a “commitment to clean” but none of that has been evident at far during this unfortunate stay

Gina Lombardi

Nice lobby Room was ok but there is no closet to hang items and only 2 tiny drawers (like nightstand drawers) to keep clothing Being new, I expected the rooms to be very clean and updated but there was some rusty/moldy looking stuff in the shower grout and stains on the wallpaper in the bathroom

I also thought it was strange they didn’t have someone coming to refresh towel supplies and make up the room each day I stayed for 3 days and never saw a cleaning person Also, note that there is no continental breakfast or even coffee It is a pay for breakfast place with coffee and some light breakfast items Just not what I was expecting so wanted others to be aware!

I had a lovely stay and was at the hotel 3 nightsOne of my friends stayed in the room which had 2 queen beds for one nightI came in fairly late around 10pm and a gentleman at the front desk offered to take my luggage upstairs to room 910, and to get ice, since the ice machine was not working on the 9th floor

The room was near the elevator, but we never heard any noiseThe staff at breakfast is outstanding, professional, and efficientCoffee every morning was excellent! We worked out in the small gym that was cleanThe front desk staff is very good and cheerfulThe hotel was sold out due to a wedding, and everyone worked hard and did a nice job! This is the third time staying here and was equally a nice stay compared to the other 2 staysIf you want your room refreshed, you just need to ask the front desk and they will accommodateThank you for another wonderful stay!10 out of 10 starsAnd the price was reasonable too

This place is not a five-star hotel, but it does compete strongly I am very impressed with the courtyard Marriott in downtown Waterbury It is Exemplary of what I have expected from Marriott and the Courtyard Brand

The room is immaculate, the view is amazing, the kitchen is clean, and they have two amazing TVs which anybody that knows me, knows I judge my room by the TV It is a ultra high definition television by the way which is probably about 70 inches Great for chilling and watching Netflix with your chick, or a guy or whatever It’s furnished very nicely And I believe that there is room serves on site, however I have not tried it yet There may not be but I’m going downstairs to try the breakfast now However I’m not really concerned because most times I stay in a courtyard, the breakfasts is great There is parking on site, a rental car service as well Oh, and let’s not forget laundry services, swimming pool, and fitness services I know, I know, most people are not fans of the city of Waterbury, however this hotel is very well placed, and there is no doubt that I will be back

Paul Lamson-LaPlume

For much less money I would rate it much better as it wasn’t a dive and the staff were responsiveMy gripes are that the shower was dirty, breakfast wasn’t included as advertised, and there was no mention of having to pay for parkingOverall the room was small to be shared by the four of us and several aspects gave the impression that form came before function when designing the rooms (key example: the towel bar is mounted directly above the toilet tank so that there isn’t space to hang a towel without it draping over the toilet; the bar isn’t mounted higher because there is a large abstract photo on the wall)

This hotel exceeded all expectations for my small weekend trip to New Haven The hotel is small, but feels cozy and not cramped Everyone who worked at the hotel was incredibly nice to us and even apologized for there not being valet parking (I can certainly park my own car myself)

The room was very upscale and felt clean and cozy I would certainly recommend as it is also super close to everything in that main street

Carrie Watts

Very good location if visiting the University or museums Rooms are clean, staff is friendly (even if you arrive at 3am because your flight is delayed) Agree with other posts- parking at $37 a day is atrocious

Pedestal sink with no counter space is silly And the room has no fridge or microwave- so only book here if being in walking distance to Yale and restaurants is your top priority

Suzanne Slade

The Study has always been a “home away from home” for our family With impeccable service, fully equipped, comfortable and clean, inviting rooms, we have always loved staying there I will always be grateful to them for their incredible kindness, warmth and thoughtfulness several weeks ago when we all stayed there for our mother’s funeral

Thank you to everyone there for providing so much comfort and refuge to us during that difficult time We Will appreciate it always

We were on a birthday trip for my wife and we chose the Residence Inn for its location and because we prefer what Residence Inn’s have to offer While the majority of our frequent stays over the years at Residence Inns are very pleasant and professional, this particular inn had a much appreciated bonus factor

its people Carlin, Janette and Samantha went out of their way to acknowledge my wife’s birthday and tend to our needswe really felt at home there on this trip We even got to share some breakfast time with some of our finest who serve our country All in all a great tripwe’ll be back! Thank you!

William Green

We made this the preferred hotel for guests for my daughter’s wedding Rented the large meeting room to host all guests the night before the wedding Brought in our own beer and canned drinks along with snacks

The full sized room fridges helped in keeping the drinks and food cold until our welcome event started Worked out great Everyone liked the hotel Very short drive to downtown Southington which has many interesting restaurants We liked a small Pakistani restaurant Only 15 minute drive to the New England Carousel Museum where we had the reception There is a great mini golf course only 15 miles away which was the recreational event morning before the reception

Jorge Rodriguez

This long stay hotel (or residence as they call themselves) is a nice place to stay when in town for work or leisure Rooms are big enough to accommodate two people easily; each room has two tv’s, a big couch, a desk, a dinner table, a functional kitchenette, a well spaced closet and all of this is distributed like a small apartment I can recommend this place easily

Amenities in the outside included a grill, a basketball court and a swimming pool (which is suspiciously always “temporarily closed”

This is a hidden gem Just one and a half hours away from New York City Such a wholesome place

I love everything about this place It is a cabin on top of the moss mountain and there’s an outdoor kitchen with a grill and a outdoor shower which is so so good and we just love walking around the land I love the compost toilet, It’s clean and not even smelly! It is off- grid There is no electricity in the cabin but that’s what makes it magical You are there completely in the forest and surrounded by natureWe also met the llamas group on Sunday that you can sign up beforehand to walk with them and there’s organic garden that you can also volunteerWe will definitely be back for this Oasis to getaway from the concrete jungle 🌞

A first time experience that made a lasting impression! Gathered on a lovely setting with campfire behind me, pond to my left, a small group of friendly people to my right and a three hour concert of talented local artists entertaining us under the stars Nature trails, spiritual gatherings, events and short stays are offered here as well Looking forward to my next visit!

Mendel Groner

This place is so nice, both physically and spiritually Bill, Andrea and David are the kindest and most gracious hosts They took the utmost care to ensure that my friends and I were warm and cozy throughout our stay

Love this location The staff is always professional The rooms are always cleaned thoroughly

The pool is a awesome size (3ft to 5ft) and plenty of room to swim w/o feeling crowded if it was full It is open from 6am to 10pm) Same time of gym which over looks the pool Plenty of parking Conference rooms (4 I believe) are great sizes Bar and dining also available ( I did not use but looks like a good adult hangout area) But the food is AMAZING Best thing I suggest is to become a Hilton Honors member for small perks also Can’t wait to go back

Like visiting a bed and breakfast opened by two beings from the hospitality dimension The amenities are flawless and the service feels more like you’re visiting friends to hang out at their incredible house while they’re at work At the same time, the attention to detail is immaculate: breakfast, decor, all the way down to the guest soaps

Perfect My only regret is that I didn’t book another night

Susan Townsend

So very fortunate to spend a few days at this beautiful bed and breakfast Brian and Jen are genuine, kind hearted, knowledgeable inn keepers From the moment you step in the door you feel like family

The home is beautiful decorated, and the history of the home is on display The rooms are large, clean and comfortable Breakfast is five starNo one ever leaves the table hungry The grounds are stunning Can’t wait to visit again Everything is top notch

Ashley Lutter

My husband and I cannot say enough amazing things about Jen and Brian! We decided to have a small wedding at their inn, booked all of the rooms for our family and friends, and can truly say they made every single minute and every single aspect just perfect They are personable, kind, caring and so much fun to be around! They notice the details and will go above and beyond to make sure their guests are happy and comfortable Even though we threw some curve balls at them with additional last minute guests, Jen and Brian were extremely accommodating and made the whole process completely stress free for myself, my husband and our guests

I can’t imagine having spent our special weekend anywhere else and I would highly recommend staying at the Evergreen for any reason possible!

When I called to cancel the reservation because my wife was sick I was told I would receive a complete refund I was refunded less than half of the two night stay When I called to question the partial refund I was told that the manager would call me back

When I did not receive a return phone I called and spoke with the manager He denied that the employee said a full refund would be provided and refused to provide the remainder of the refund

James Bond (J-Bond)

Beautiful, clean, friendly staff and a free continental breakfast daily My wife and I stayed 20 day’s at the Comfort Inn located at 716 New Haven rd Naugatuck Connecticut 06770 and really enjoyed ourselvesWe booked a handicap accessible room that had a handicap bathroom including shower through the Choice Hotels app

After checking in and seeing the room we saw it wasn’t the one we had booked the difference was no handicap shower We brought this issue to the attention of the manager and asked what could be done about the bathroom situation and her response was she could charge me over a hundred dollars more for the correct roomI showed her the confirmation number and screenshot of the correct room that we booked and were not in but she still did nothingOne of the nights someone broke my locking fuel door on my car and stole my fuel and since the fuel door was broke they stole my gas a second timeI brought this to management’s attention same woman and she asked where the vehicle was parked I told her In front of the building the first time and in the back in front of the rear door the secondShe changed the subject to a review I had posted previous to this incident so I asked what does my review have to do with this most recent incident she then said there is no cameras where the vehicle was parkedSo I take it after spending several thousands of dollars and being a Choice Hotels Diamond member my wife and I just have to eat the reservation that was booked incorrectly on their part also the damages and fuel stolen from our vehicleUpdate: I contacted the manager about the over charge and 12,000 points used and I will not be receiving any type of reimbursement so in total two nights cost us over $300 plus the room that was booked wrongIt’s truly heartbreaking how big business works

Olivia-Matt Erickson-Hutchison

The saving grace of this place was that at least the staff were all friendly and helpful as they could be and it’s pet-friendlyAs soon as we stepped off the elevator it was like we were in a totally different hotel in terms of cleanliness from the lobby The carpets were atrocious, stained, dirty looking- thankfully the rooms have newish laminate flooring which looked fine and seemed clean

If you’re traveling with pets you’ll probably get stuck in or near the smoking room wing which is pretty pungent I get that that’s not a huge deal breaker for some but just a heads upOur room had a broken security lock which was freaky given that the room also had a bent window screen frame that looked like someone had previously tried to pry it open (it was a ground floor room) The walls are paper thin so prepare to listen to whatever your neighbor is listening to or talking about The sheet flat sheet on the bed had a ridiculous amount of leg hairs on them Not, like an “oops, housekeeping must’ve lost a single head hair on the comforter” amount; I’m talking like “somebody sprinkled a handful of leg hairs in the bed” amount of hairs Fortunately the guy at the desk hand delivered a fresh set of sheets which was a life-saverI just think for what you pay after pet fees that there are probably better kept hotels in the area that allow pets When I booked this place I had just arrived in town after driving for six hours, was exhausted, and just needed a place to sleep but I still should have done some due diligence and read recent reviews Had I done that, I would not have booked a room here Obviously with Covid it’s a tough time to be a hospitality business but cleanliness should still be a priority in the middle of a pandemic

Came here on business and found the Fairfield Plainville to be an excellent propertyIt all starts with staff and we were greeted by Joe at the front desk This hotel is lucky to have such a personable and caring employee! Our room was very nice as well as the breakfast they provide

A tiny pool, which we didn’t use would best be served as more rooms or something Amazingly small! There is a nice restaurant attached so that’s a bonus! We would definitely stay here again!

Dona F

It took me awhile to understand how their housekeeping works Because of pandemic, they don’t clean rooms daily,or empty trash You have to put the trash outside your room door

You can request clean towels at the front desk, and get them right away If they leave a note for housekeeping to bring you fresh towels, they forget Anytime a housekeeper opens your door, whenever your not in,the key card stops working and you have to walk a distance to the front desk so they can fix it Not a good thing if you’re disabledThe staffis friendly and pleasant Because of the recession and pandemic there are not enough staff Please be patient and kind to them

Paul DeFelice

Stayed for 5 nights When we got to the room, there was a musty smell in it but it wasn’t overbearing There was no shampoo or soap either

Had to go to the front desk at midnight The gentleman behind the desk gave me some shampoo and a bottle of body wash since he couldn’t find any soap bars They never cleaned our room nor did they change out the towels or empty the garbage I learned that you have to request all of that The location was convenient and close to the highway Room decor was decent & room was clean Beds were comfortable enough I didn’t eat at the breakfast buffet that’s included with the stay but it was the typical food items for this kind of hotelscrambled eggs, sausage, toast, english muffins, bagels, cereal, yogurt, coffee & juices It was better priced than the Holiday Inn Express on the Berlin Turnpike and a little nicer I’d stay again

Nice hotel located in the ‘Heritage’ community, an upscale (retirement?) village with lots of greenery and water The hotel is big and very busy, at any given day multiple events and conferences appeared to be going onThe rooms are nice, somewhat small but nicely appointed and very clean

They appear quite recently renovated and everything looked good The facilities of the hotel are excellent, the gym area is very large and has enough equipment for an extensive workout; as well as a big pool The food at the restaurant is good, and they host a weekly pubquiz which was funStaff is very friendly and helpful

r roach

Started off good When I first got here I was impressed with the location and thought it looked nice from the outside They have a lively tavern which was nice

Got to the room and first impressions was not bad But then I tried to turn the TV on and found it very unresponsive Then I tried to adjust the thermostat and got an error code So then I tried to use the phone to call the front desk and found out that doesn’t work So I called using my cell phone only to have to leave a message which never got responded to And then the clincher is at 11:30 at night some jerk decided to pull the fire alarm which went on for about 20 minutes Thankfully I talked to the hotel staff who told me there was no fire just a very inconsiderate person pulling an alarm I am going up to Boston and stopped here I’m a cancer patient going to look at a clinical trial I just wanted a good night’s sleep before continuing my journey I actually had thought about returning on my way home but I will probably just look for something else Oh and despite the hotel website mentioning a breakfast I found out that there is none here But there is a cafe that I can walk to

Eran Cullinane

I overheard the hotel receptionist being extremely rude to my wife They changed their demeanor once I came to the front desk even before any verbal exchange from myself Hotel was overall super dirty

The worst part was our hotel bathroom towels The towels are supposed to be white, yet had brown residue as they were definitely not washed efficiently Most of the newly delivered towels were literally still dirty The Television remote had inadequate operation The door did not lock properly The restaurant’s bar tenders were extremely disgruntled and rude to the wedding party who rented it out for the remainder of the night It appears this place probably used to be a hotel of class, and now, out of the necessity of large space, they still charge overpriced rooms
