I travel all over the US spending 9 to 10 months a year in hotels

Since I have arrived the staff from the front desk to housekeeping have been outstanding Always accommodating I’ve had two different rooms here They moved my daughter and myself to other side so contractors wouldn’t disturb us I have 2 dogs and never have any issues I would recommend this hotel to all There’s more restaurants and stores then you’ll ever need within 1 mile of this location plus malls I gave them 5 stars across the board because they earned them

Paul Kelly

Like the location it’s close to shopping centers fast food and the mall If you are a local though, and want a room Be prepared to pay a two hundred dollar deposit for damages

But you will get that returned upon check out They have a breakfast but no eggs But have pretty much anything else you might want I liked the fresh fruit personally

Margarita Loran

The room overall wasn’t terrible, but geez it was bright Had to put towels down for the light The pool was a bit cloudy in color so that was off putting

But the biggest thing were the pillows They were super small and made the night of sleep just not great Turns out they were normal size pillows, just with the pillow cover tucked around it needless to say, we won’t be back

We really liked this hotel, it was very clean and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs There wasn’t room service while we were there they are short on help right now, so that was kind of a bummer if we needed towels or anything we had to go to the front desk and the ask for themThe breakfast was really good

Every morning there was a huge selection of items to choose from Bacon or sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy Pancakes or waffles that you made yourself (the pancakes were very good) they had a selection of juices, oatmeal, grits, cold cereals, bagels, English muffins, toast, yogurt, fruit cups, coffee, hot chocolate, tea and many other things I’m probably forgetting It was goodSometime in the afternoon/evening they make these cookies and set them out on the front desk They are really yummy! Don’t miss out on those 😊Overall this hotel was really nice and we would definitely come back and stay again!

Tommy M

*my parents stayed here* I am spending some time with my parents and their room is clean They have a nice amount of space their room as well They offer housekeeping when you request it 24 hours ahead of time

The lobby areaa and other public areas of the hotel are clean It is right off of I-75 and close to downtown Venice and Venice beach You will need to drive to get to downtown and the beach – they are worth the drive I can’t rate the service because I did not seek out any service Definitely stop in and check this hotel out I would stay here and I used to work in the hotel industry (I know what to look for)

Great service!!We will be back!

Laura “LDT” Davis

I grew up in Daytona and thought I knew all that Florida had to offer

but then I found Venice and this amazing gem of a place Oh My Gosh It is perfect The beach is steps away and is hands down GORGEOUS Sugar sand, crystal blue water, gentle wavesswaying palm trees It’s heaven There’s a cute little mid-century snack bar with live music at dusk and all that you need for a quick drink or nosh The Inn is perfectly appointed Some of the nicest staff I’ve ever encountered and yes, the breakfast pastries are amazing! They always have cold water bottles on ice and plenty of beach accoutrements to grab and head down with The pool and hot tub are salt water and the perfect temps (BOTH) and every person we met with so friendly and lovely Then there’s Venice It looks like a dang movie set! Net-net, I almost didn’t want to write this because it’s so amazing

I was very impressed because some of the reviews online were the opposite of my experience My husband The front desk staff was amazing thank you Patti and Matt for accommodating us

Also how you went above and beyond Our room was clean and bright, and the bed was heavenly Amazing pressure and very hot water for showering Clean towels and linens With a decent breakfast Thank you Port Charlotte we had a wonderful relaxed time

Kyle Walker

This hotel was okay Mediocre at best The gentleman that checked me in was very nice and I enjoyed chatting with him

The hotel room was average I read reviews about the water temperature and noted that, after some time, the sink water warmed up So when I took a shower, I waited quite a bit for it to become “Luke warm” I was in a rush so I took a quick shower that got “hot” for about 5 minutes before becoming FREEZING cold I got out quickly Also the drain did not work well so my “shower” quickly became a “bath” Breakfast is until “9:30” but I got there at 9 and almost all the food was gone and I could not find anyone to refill the food I tried to make a waffle and the mix was completely goneI got a good deal on this place at about ~$100 through the Hotel Tonight app I certainly would not pay more than $100 a night for this facility – It was the best price I could find in the area but I still feel a bit ripped off

David

The staff was very nice and helpful, there was always someone at the front desk, and complimentary breakfast every morning They also had coffee out all dayI didn’t use the pool or any of the other amenities, but they seemed adequate

The room seemed clean and didn’t have any obvious smells or stains A/C worked fine The only issue we had was that the walls are very thin and we had an extremely loud and rowdy neighbor who stayed up all night every night

I cannot begin to describe how well I was treated when I first arrived at this hotel As the doors opened, Brittany B was at the front desk bubbly and cheerfully there to welcome us

She even offered to help with our bagsI mean who does that anymore Her hospitality and enthusiastic personality made our stay that much better The other staff was great as well However, in all aspects of our stay Brittany was there to accommodate our needs A positive attitude is contagious and let me tell you, I caught her positive energy quite quickly She was always busy doing something for the hotel; whether it be decorating the Xmas tree, cleaning up the breakfast area, greeting new customers, and so much more Being a school teacher myself, I feel the biggest compliment is a recommendation I highly recommend this hotel due to the cleanliness, positive attitudes, and BRITTANY! She literally brightened my family up each morning and evening and I wish there were more people in the world like her Thank you extended stay and thank yo Brittany! Happy holidays

Kay Medeiros

The rooms are big and have lots of potential I like feeling like I have plenty of room and not like I’m in a closet I also liked that they have little kitchenettes with stove tops

But this was by far the dirtiest room I’ve ever been in any I’ve stayed in many hotelsThe shower was disgusting to the point where I cleaned it and then cleaned it again and then ended up going to a different hotel and showering there instead I disinfected all but the floors and the amount of dust caked on top of the fridge was unbelievable mostly because they are big fridges but only bigger than your average hotel and there’s no possible way any human couldn’t reach the top to dust it off

Nicolette O (Nicki)

Tiny tiny roaches scurried to keep out of the light and out of sight when I opened the door I was worried I would have to face the big one that brought them into existence we never met, good thing too ‘cuz we would not be friends

The dog had fun chasing them around no complaints from her about more protein to her dietNice vending machines with many good snack options, and payment options They take cards too

The staff are great here Very kind and attentive But let’s be honest

This hotel needs some help The musty smell in the rooms and hallways is an allergic persons nightmare I was lucky enough to find my essential oil and spread it throughout the whole room It made it just bearable The furniture had a sticky surface that wouldn’t come out

My husband and I needed a place to stay for the night, we had some trouble trying to book the room and one of the staff members who was helping us, Anthony, gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite for all the trouble! The room was very clean and neat, the beds were very comfortable Great location as well, just a few minutes from the beach & lots of restaurants and stores near by! Not bad for the price either! 10/10 !!

RES RES

We needed a hotel in the area for one night, and this was the cheapest with decent reviews that we could find It was FAR from cheap, however March means crazy high prices

The staff was welcoming, the room was ok but showed it’s age, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was decent but didn’t have nearly enough seating We would stay again if we needed a hotel in the area and prices were more affordable, but I wouldn’t seek it out specifically

M Orton

Everything was great until the third day On the second day we elected not to have made service and only requested towels By the third day our floor needed to be cleaned and I personally asked the maid to make sure our room was serviced

We left for a few hours so that could be done and when we returned the staff and gone home and our room was not clean My wife went up to the front desk to see if we could have a room cleaned and she was informed that the front desk person was the only one here and we couldn’t have that done I’m 63 with a bad back but I went ahead and made the beds picked up all the towels took out the trash I think the biggest problem is that none of the maids speak English since I don’t speak Spanish there’s a big disconnect Everyone was really friendly except the girl at the front desk on the third day she was rude and I won’t be coming back here again

Clean, Convenient, ComfortableThe king room came well equipped and the bed was comfortable The kitchen area had everything we need for a comfortable stay

The shower is very spacious and there was a hairdryer in the bathroomThe free breakfast was impressive, not just because of the quantity of choices, but the quality Ken, the cook/attendant, is a true asset to the company He seems to enjoy his job and makes everyone feel welcome and special His scrambled eggs are light fluffy and moist (Very unusual for a hotel buffet)The entire staff is exceptional and welcoming The entire facility has a very welcoming, easy going feeling (but not lazy) which I can only assume is cultivated and encouraged by good managementThank you for a wonderful week

Ninno DePatrick

Great location to anything you may need during your get-away The room was fabulous and the hospitality was a real treat The two people who were exceptional were Sandra Murdock (thank you being professional and personable) and a fellow named Kenn (excellent conversation)

Both were very nice, and kept the art of conversation alive I will certainly stay there againThe only reason if gave 4/5 is because there really needs to be something done about the sprinklers The mineral deposits on my car as a result of the sprinklers was the worst I’ve ever encountered They covered the entire car and I’ll now have to get the spots buffed out – washing the car is not enough And my car was certainly not the only one

Claudio Falbo

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of days…and we would have stayed longer if we could have! This was one of the best hotels we have stayed at and it is all due to the service! Donatella AJ, Nikki, Sandra, Violet always greeted us with a smile, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed The housekeeping staff had everything cleaned 10 on 10, and the Chef made breakfast time unforgettable with his amazing banana bread! Thank you all for your excellent service We will definitely come back and definitely refer you! You are all truly the definition of fantastic hospitality! From: Claudio and Lidia FalboStay: February 22nd-26th

Our 2 night stay and wedding event was fabulous We rented the Rooftop 360 Perch for our wedding ceremony and reception We also stayed in a deluxe suite that was wonderful

The entire staff, especially Amber and Kathy were outstanding to work with Their accomplishments to ensure our wedding event was no less than outstanding was extraordinary I would highly recommend Wyvern as a best-value service provider

Norm Clinkscales

Our 3 night stay was pleasant and without any difficulties Self parking was easy and close Our king room was clean and the bathroom very nice and spacious

No noise at night Extra towels arrived within minutes of being requested The rooftop bar and restaurant has great views but it’s more a bar and less a restaurant Breakfast was disappointing Skip eating there, go for music and partying

Nicole Glinko

This hotel looks amazing when you look at it online, and when you walk in But that’s about where it endsThe Mexican bar next to the hotel is extremely loud every night

Loud music, singing and yelling until about 1AM Not even the TV could drown it outHousekeeping is every 2 days because they are short staffed, which is understandable But when our room was cleaned, they didn’t even change the sheets There were stains all over the white sheet, and the exact same sheet with stains were there They just made the bed and took our used towels We had to ask for new sheets and change the bed ourselvesWhen we went to the front desk to ask for new sheets and towels, the lady was very put-out and replied with “well I guess I’ll have to send someone up with some” 😅 sorry Just wanted clean sheetsThere is NO verbiage at all They don’t have any type of info in the rooms about how to use the TV, info about attractions in the area, when the restaurants, bar and pool closes, absolutely nothing We had to ask the staff about it all, and they were annoyed when we askedThe pool closes when the sun goes down I’ve never heard that before Most hotels in the state let you use the pool until at LEAST 9-10pmWe went to the bar on the roof to just get drinks, and every 5 minutes they kept asking us if we were getting food And then we were ignored the rest of the time because we weren’t ordering food I didn’t realize you had to order food to go to the bar and be treated like customers 😅Everything is clean The rooms are nice But that’s about where the niceness ends We felt pretty cheated out of $200 per night We aren’t going to be staying again

Great service with the van All of the workers were helpful and very polite Both in the restaurant and at the desk

We were there in November 2021 and went back for a five day trip in March This was our fourth trip to this hotel and we have never had a complaint The road noise on the east side rooms can be bad at times This is a close location to shopping , parks, and other restaurants Heading back in October

Dottie Lease

Where do I begin, the room we stayed in was below average The furniture was all beat up The bathroom had rubber stripping that was all tore up

The room smelled like a dirty wet dog I booked the room ahead of time for three guests and the room was supplied with 3 towels, 3 hand towels, and 1 wash cloth I went down to the front desk and requested 2 more wash cloths Two hours later I went to the front desk again to find out where the wash cloths only to be told that housekeeping refused to bring them up until morning I explained that wouldn’t work since we has an early flight the next morning and we wanted to shower that night and we needed them that night The front desk gave us two hand towels and told us to use those as wash cloths Really? Not what I expected Needless to say two people could not shower As we checked out the next morning I asked for the manager and I was told he was not available but would have him call me later No call I called the following day and was transferred to his voicemail and left a CD message Guess what, no return call I guess they don’t care about my experience! Very disappointing!

Just went for dinner to the All You Can Eat Friday night fish special The Fish & Chips is excellent here but the servers make it not nearly worth the visit We sat at the bar which was a huge mistake

The barkeep, Christine, is not cordial nor does she follow up to be sure customers have what they need, are happy, etc She is not the right person to have customer facing Will try again sitting at a regular table, but miss people like Tina who knew how to treat customers

Terrible experience! We arrived at 3 pm and our King sized room we booked in advance was not available even though they had very low occupancy rate They gave us two queens bed upstairs There is no elevator and the stairs were decaying and falling apart

The room was filthy Flying black ants everywhere The bed sheets had blood stains and the mattress were all stained The fire alarm detector had a plastic bag over it There were no pool towels The pool railings were stained The spa/hot tub was 65 degrees cold and we asked the manager to make it warm and he didn’t Trash everywhere Would never stay in this hotel again

Just checked in a little after three with no issues other than our booking app messed up and only reserved one room instead of two, but Angelo was very helpful and even offered us rooms right next to each other Carpets and pillows are the only reason I’m giving it a 4, few stains on the carpet and somewhat lumpy pillows but the beds are comfy No smell weird smell in either of our rooms

The ceiling/exhaust fan in the bathroom was inop though which didn’t help with the humidity when one of us took a shower Property was decently maintained, pool could have used a cleaning on the bottom

We came to FL on business, but chose this hotel as it has been a favorite of ours when we are in the area It is not far from the beach, you can easily walk there The rooms are nice

The breakfast is pretty good for free food The best part of it was the manager She was very helpful and willing to try to do whatever was needed to improve our stay We will definitely be back

My husband and I first stayed here when we moved to the area a few years ago It was a terrific place to stay with friendly staff, clean rooms and within walking distance to the beach We no longer live in the area, but came to stay when we had a chance to be back in town

We are still happy with the hotel We had a slight issue while we were staying and needed to speak to the manager She was terrific Very professional Resolved the issue immediately to make the stay more comfortable The best part is the hotel is clean with friendly staff, a great manager and within walking distance to the beach Highly recommend

Stay was great and they accommodated my gluten allergy with breakfast Our only complaint was that our door would not latch when closed and we had to spend a lot of time clicking it to get it to latch properly every time we would open the door We addressed it with the front desk and was told maintenance would come by, but we never experienced a fixed door the remainder of our stay

This obviously is not indicative of the entire hotel, but it is something I wish was taken more seriously as we had expensive valuables in our room As a whole, we will continue staying at Home2Suites on vacation as the rooms are large and very comfortable and it is reasonably priced
