First time stay ! We went with 4 other couples and absolutely loved staying here! Decorated with beachy charm and wonderful hospitality! Breakfast and wine set ups were perfect! The bed was very comfortable and our room was #3 and it was perfect ( extrabig bathroom room for getting ready ) The only things I would change would be darker blinds for early morning sun Too much light for sleep

The other is the food at bald head cc was horrible for dinner! Don’t order fish ! Stick w burgers The shoals club was great for lunch but another bad dinner! Our steaks were cold and over cooked and my snapper had skin on and zero taste w maybe 5 pieces of veggies Stick with burgers and salads Next time we will eat at Jules We loved having golf carts and bikes for our stay ! The owner is usually there and is very interested in making your stay perfect !

We had such a wonderful experience at the Inn! Even before we arrived, Rose, the innkeeper, texted to welcome us and make sure we had an easy arrival on the ferry She was warm, kind, and welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure that our needs were met On top of that, her breakfasts and hors d’oeuvres were amazing! Everything was delicious and the presentation was beautiful

Dann and Gail made us feel like family and were great hosts They really took the time to get to know their guests and created a warm environment in the home The Inn is beautifully decorated and pristine and we enjoyed spending time in the comfortable living room next to the fireThe location of the Inn next to the Marina is fabulous and the added perk of membership to the Bald Head Island club made our stay even more wonderful! We savored the view from our room each morning and really enjoyed the well-maintained golf carts and bikes included with the stayBeing on Bald Head Island itself feels like you are frozen in time, away from the hustle and bustle of the world Staying at the Inn is the perfect retreat and we felt pampered throughout our entire stay We look forward to returning!

Where do we start? What a great escape to such a lovely inn The inn was very clean and beautiful Wonderful wrap around porch for morning coffee and afternoon relaxation before heading to dinner

Coffee was excellent, breakfast buffet had lots of options and you could eat at the large breakfast table or at one of the many two tops on the porch There were always snacks and iced lemon water throughout the day The afternoon wine and cheese reception was a great touch and where we met other guests Our room was large and comfortable and super clean, a nice large bathroom, and our own porch overlooking the marina Dann and Gail were amazing hosts and Rose and Vicki made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay We will be back!

The condo was great Lots of beds and the kitchen was fully stocked The only issue I had was the drainage in the parking lot

It rained while we were there and we had to pay to have our car towed out of the parking lot because the water was so high The water didn’t go down for two days I have no clue when it actually went down because we had to head home

Ronry Love

I had a great visit with my grandmother (who lives nearby and rented the suite), mother, aunt, sister, cousins, and partner for Mother’s Day weekend The suite was beautifully decorated, and the view from the balcony was postcard-worthy The king-size bed was one of the nicest beds I’ve slept in for quite a while as I’ve been homeless for a month now, and it was very nice to have such a great place to vacation

I definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for a family-friendly beach vacation

After a couple of stays in hotels that were supposed to be nice but were not, this stay was wonderful! From the helpful young lady who checked us in, to the nice breakfast before checking out, everything was first class! The room was lovely—we especially enjoyed the walk in shower and nice soap/shampoo options! The breakfast room was clean, attractive, and well stockedI would highly recommend the oatmeal with numerous yummy toppings—including coconut, candied pecans, craisins, and several moreWe will look for more Fairfield Inns from now on—hoping to have as nice an experience!

she covered it all We really enjoyed the alligator The air conditioning worked great, the building was clean throughout The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast staff was very friendly and helpful the young white male with brownish hair, the older new woman, and the other white female I didn’t get their names The kitchen staff in whole were greatFast easy check in and offers early check in The decor was beautiful especially the large American flag Smooth check out The breakfast staff were friendly and breakfast hours were better than other locations starting at 7am until 9:30amI didn’t get house keeping, but I saw them every morning and they gave me a roll of toilet tissue when asked, took my old towels when I brought them and gave me new clean towels They even took my trash I brought them I vacuumed daily and stripped my bedding upon exiting myself

Clean room and smelled awesome I loved the boutique hair and body products The owner was so great to work with

I forgot my key when I went out and she kindly and patiently walked me through how to get back into the room What a quaint place to stay Love all of the special touches like the rockers outside and the fire pit, the connect four game, the bikes, and Cornhole Thank you for a wonderful visit

Laurie King

Our last minute visit in Southport was even better than we could have hoped! The Inn at River Oaks was perfect for our stay, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and exactly as described on the website Rebecca’s attention to detail and personalizing our stay was much appreciated With it being a cooler night, the blankets set out on the benches and swings outside was a nice touch! I loved how close to everything we were; from the time we checked in, the car didn’t move until check out, as we were able to walk everywhere, or had bikes available to get around town

The contactless check-in process and text communication made everything so easy Will definitely be back!

Comfort Suites Southport is by far the most welcoming hotel I’ve ever stayed in From the little pineapple sign to welcome you in the parking lot to the smell of fresh popcorn wafting through the lobby at check-in, everything about this hotel makes you feel as if you’re home The beds were so comfortable and my Husky was welcomed with loving, open arms by all the staff

Everyone worked so hard to ensure the hotel was clean and sanitized the entire week of my stay Housekeeping is still by request only, but with enough notice they will graciously take care of your requests If you want the amenities of a vacation but the comforts of home, choose this hotel

Jennifer Lyden

Let me start my review by saying Scott at front desk rocks!! He took my reservation over the phone and is hilarious Customer service at its best! The king suite we got was at end of the hallway and soooo quiet The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and the room was absolutely spotless

Great coffee, great breakfast I never review hotels with 5 star because there is always room for improvement in most places They are 5 stars across the board

Samantha Clark

Hotel staff was great! The Breakfast was amazing Those mini apple cinnamon waffles are fantastic Beats any regular continental breakfast I’ve ever had before

The decorations are stunning The showerhead will beat you to death but it was great after an extremely long day of work Never had a chance to check out the pool or the gym The three days I was there I had no complaints Key lime candy to die for The king bed was so comfy and the perfect amount of covers Thank you Southport comfort inn

I booked what I thought was the B&B for a weekend with my mom We were kind of bummed when we learned it was the motel and not the B&B, however we actually LOVED the little motel, ended up preferring it, and talk about it constantly! The lady in charge of upkeep when we were there in 2017 was the sweetest, and fantastic at her job We hope she’s there again this year!! Our favorite town and place to stay & eat

Aaron

What an amazing experience We had an incredibly clean room with a back door that led you right out onto the water It was so great to have a long weekend away where we could wake up and see the sunrise over the Cape Dear River

The lady who takes care of the place is super sweet We enjoyed our stay so much that we asked her if we could stay another night and she said yes, which absolutely made our weekend I can’t imagine that staying at the B&B next door could be half as peaceful and wonderful as this cozy little inn We will be back as soon as we need another peaceful, quiet getaway!

Tonya Jewell

I cannot say enough about this B&B! Location, staff and breakfast were out of this world! My husband and I will definitely be back hereWe were able to stay in the motel and the b&b side, both were VERY cleanThe staff are always checking on you to make sure everything is okay for you

The area is very quiet but in the middle of everythingIf you want a great experience stay here!

This hotel is better than top tier hotel lines My husband and I were so pleasantly surprised The rooms are spacious, lots of windows, modern (granite counter tops, full size fridge, and huge walk in shower, hard floors, etc), and had the most comfortable mattress we’ve ever had at a hotel

We slept so great The view is also great and the hotel is close to downtown Southport We’ll be back

Katie Dodge

We stayed here for a couple’s getaway for my husband’s birthday The staff was friendly and accommodating We loved the location of being close to town, but not in a tourist area

The rooms are beautiful- however, the blinds are the cheaper thin, white blinds that are put in homes If you like to sleep in past 6:15 or you want to take a nap then this is not the hotel for you The room is BRIGHT as soon as the sun starts to peek over the horizon and is BRIGHT the entire rest of the day until it sets There are no curtains My suggestion to the management would be to provide either black our curtains or get some quality window shades so sleep is an option We wouldn’t stay here again based on this point When we vacation as a couple, we want to wake up later than we do at home Due to the lack of window coverage… we actually wake up earlier than home It’s a shame **photo attached is of our room at 7:12 AM

We were on the third floor in the second building back from the waterfront and our room was on the south side (not parking lot side) so we did have a pretty good water view The building, room, and parking lot all were immaculate Another post mentions that renovations were recently done and we would agree that seems to be the case

I know this is somewhat subjective, but we found the beds to be too soft for us As a reference, we have Sleep Number beds at home and use #40-#45 These beds are much softer than this range I saw this mentioned in another post and was hoping they would not be too soft OK for some, not for us I will also confirm the blinds in our room are not light blocking When the sun comes up, yes the room is very bright The daily cleaning staff is terrific We felt a tip was very appropriate I want to restate how clean everything is! As of our stay, June 2022, there is no construction on the adjacent lots According to one of the staff, the lot on our side of the building was sold, but she was not aware of what will be built there Perhaps a marina We would like to go back, but those beds

Beautiful, historic, far exceeded our expectations The rooms are like stepping back in time

to a time where genteel living was for a select few A nip of port or sherry in the evening? 4pm wine, charcuterie, or perhaps a tasty sweet? And did I mention the amazing breakfasts? This is a B&B you won’t want to miss It’s centrally located within walking or biking (yes, there are bikes!) to everything you’d want The shops, restaurants, waterfront, and abundant additional historic homes and landmarks All this and more

Samantha Reid

Stay here if you’re traveling to or through Southport! This place is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and conveniently located in walking distance to everything Southport has to offer Only a few mins by car or bike to the Bald Head and Ft Fisher ferry stops

I don’t know if we just lucked out with the other guests staying there, but there was no noise carrying over from room to room at all It was a very peaceful place to relax There are a couple of great outdoor seating areas in addition to the stunning living room We stayed in the room with the balcony, which was a fantastic location for afternoon snacks The innkeeper was very responsive and helpful Continental breakfast was good too! Definitely worth a visit

Mark Petrahai

This is a exceptional appointed B&B in a great location with wonderful owners in Rick & Linda The home is clean, quiet with tons of history of Southport and the original owner of the house Breakfast each day was quite tasty and welcoming with other guests at the property

Rick also provides a complimentary guided tour and he has an extensive knowledge of the town This was great because in just a short trip around town in his golf cart, one is able to get to get an idea of places to explore and how best to see the area albeit, walking, bicycle or car Rick is attentive to guests needs but also respects your privacy if you just want to relax Wonderful stay and one I certainly will return to

Room 211 I would definitely book this room againI was apprehensive to stay here based on some of the reviews, but had a lovely stay

Pros:The room was exceedingly quiet The bathroom is small and old, but clean with amazing water pressure in the shower The chairs and table on the porch have a good view of the ocean and pier Walking distance to pier Reasonably priced Online pictures are accurateCons:Light outside front door shines through blinds and keeps the room from being dark at nightPillows are flat and hard Bring your own

We enjoyed our stay at The Beach House this past weekend We celebrated our 39th anniversary together and we couldn’t have asked for better weather, location, wonderful restaurants and great serviceWe’ve stayed here prior to the new ownership many of times and I have to say, WOW!!The rooms are much nicer, cleaner, and new furnishings too

We do however miss the beautiful gazebo and walkway to the beach that was right across from the street New Big houses are here now, but the beach access is still great and close to the room Poolside was awesome with new chairs, umbrellas for shade and a new enclosure showerThank you, we will be booking again soon Please check your local weather for Riptides and be safe 🌴😎Take time to explore the island, lots to see and doThe Reynolds, Wilmington, NC

I’m hesitant to review this spot because it is SUCH A HIDDEN GEM!! I want to keep the secret of how reasonably priced, spacious, well kept, and perfectly located these beautiful apartments and hotel rooms are It made traveling with other guests a breeze because we could each come and go on whichever date suited us best The staff at this magical place is friendly, helpful, and VERY hard working

We are pinching pennies to return ASAP!
