We stayed here during a family emergency The staff was more than accommodating They were so polite, so friendly, we all (3 rooms) checked in very late, needed a roll away cot and they still served with a smile

The rooms were nice and clean The morning breakfast was pleantyful And checkout was a breeze At least our hotel was great, affordable and easy for this unplanned trip

I would give this hotel 10 stars if I could! Allison at the front desk was so amazing and very accommodating We just drove straight through from Connecticut, and made good time, so many of the other hotels were booked and unable to assist This location was able to accommodate a last minute early check in for us

The hotel is very quiet and clean Would absolutely recommend this for a stay!

The crown jewel of hotels in PalatkaSeriously the nicest Holiday Inn I’ve stayed in, and I’ve stayed in countless Holiday Inns nationwide This particular property features the newest updated corporate IHG renovations and features

Bright, modern, and has everything updated for today’s times with USB plugs galore, bedside power sockets, all LED lighting, and contemporary furnitureThe staff is friendly and courteous Breakfast is typical IHG fare, but the seating area is nice with charging stations at the tables Parking is a bit tight but the lot is brightly lit My place to stay when I’m in town

We booked a room at 11:50PM EST, knowing that if we booked after midnight we might not be able to get a roomWhen we got to the hotel an hour later, we found that our reservation had been canceled as a no-show The woman at the front desk told us that it was because of the night audit process and that she hadn’t been “aware of” (her words) our reservation; and because the night audit was still running, there was nothing she could do

When we asked how long it would be, she shrugged and said “It depends on how long the computer takes” When we asked if it was going to be more like ten minutes or an hour, she said probably more like an hour She then directed us to a Quality Inn and Suites across the street With no other options for getting some sleep after a long drive, we reluctantly took the suggestionThe next day, we spoke to the manager, Lara She confirmed that night audit starts at midnight (ten minutes after we booked our room), and that the process takes about an hour (which means it should have been finished or close to it by the time we got there – not an additional hour away from finishing)Had we known that the process was going to take just another ten, or even twenty minutes, we would happily have stayed and re-booked But we were told we had something on the order of another hour to waitInstead, this hotel didn’t get our money – and we paid just slightly less for a much, much worse room This was a total lose-lose, and a disappointment because the Hilton system is our go-to for hotelsWhat does it mean that she “wasn’t aware of” our reservation? Should she not have checked for reservations before starting the night audit? The manager informed us that they don’t really get people checking in “in the middle of the night”, but surely more like a 2 or even 3AM would be a safer bet? We’ve never had anything like this happen before, and while we will happily continue to stay at Hilton/Hampton hotels, we’ll sure make certain it’s not Palatka we’re planning to stop in

Nice overall clean facility with super friendly staff and owner They have been very gracious accommodating all our shenanigans, with room changes, last second extensions and all the switching around The facility is near, and 1 half overlooks the St

John’s river and the adjacent park Wally gives it a big toothy smile, and you should as well, the next time you find yourself in downtown Palatka The only thing I’m missing, is a van

Horrible customer service I am planning my wedding for March of 2023 in palatka We found a nice barn venue and this hotel was one of the ones the venue recommended for a wedding block as it is the closest

I will be telling the venue manager to remove them from any future recommendations based on my experience I called the Hampton Inn in January 2022 and spoke to the manager who was AMAZING very helpful gave me information I needed but said I had to call back once I was a year out because the books weren’t open yet Once we hit a year out In March 2022 I started calling the Hampton inn to put in the wedding block I called once a week for 3 weeks and continued to get the same feedback from the front desk they had a new manager, she’s sick, she’s not in, we’ll take your information and give it to her I finally was in palatka in March doing some wedding planning and stayed at the Hampton inn I told the front desk again about my experience trying to put in a wedding block and how nobody has gotten back to me The front desk took down my information again and said the new manager would call me Another couple weeks went by and nothing from this manager so I looked for an email address online I sent a short simple email just trying to put in a wedding block and if someone could call me The new manager Alicia Perry emails me back saying there are no blocks available for March it is their busiest month I’m not looking for a discounted rate just to hold rooms for our family who is traveling for our wedding I obviously was upset so I called the hotel and spoke to someone at the front desk and told her the whole story from the first manager telling me yes it’s fine and now Alicia can’t even pick up the phone and return my phone calls she just fired off an email and did not care to even talk or return my calls from weeks ago The front desk said there Is nothing she can do and they can’t put a wedding block in for me Horrible customer service the absolute worst part of planning my wedding so far has been dealing with the Hampton inn I will tell everyone not to stay there as well as the venue to remove them from recommendations Terrible experience and customer service from this manager Alicia Very upsetting

Amazing place to stay! David is a great guy, cares a lot about his guests, and is always available We have stayed at Andersen’s Lodge for our annual springs trip for the last 4 yearsThe bar is great and priced right

We had the food for the first time this year since they just opened the restaurant and it was deliciousGreat location, easy access to the rooms and docks, and pet friendly We all love coming here every year If you realize you are lucky to experience this great area of Florida for a price and community like this, you’ll truly enjoy your stay

The worst room I’ve ever stayed in by far! There was blood on the “new” towels for us to wash with There was a bug in one of the beds The room was about 90° with the smallest window unit they sell and it is 100+° outside in FL

We told the bartenders who told us the key was in the room, they said we can get a new room but we’re making our drive to the next town I expect a full return after what has the worst experience I’ve ever seen at any place my family has ever been to Would give zero stars if I could, and I’m not a complainer

Stu Carson

So hard to find places like this in this modern day and age a place with absolutely wonderful views from the restaurant and bar A place with a warm hostess and host

honestly they made us feel like long time friends True Southern Hospitality! We opted for the riverfront cabin ahhhhhhhhh sunset a partial kitchen deck river views! We are looking for an excuse to visit again soon!

We took a 7-day tour of the St John’s River from Sanford to Jax, and this is hands down the best place to stay along the entire 160 mile route The cabins are amazing both inside and out, with a huge deck that houses your own private Jacuzzi and gas grill

Plus the resort itself has a pool, covered boat parking, and the only pump-out we found along the river On all future trips to the St John’s River, our entire stay will be at Welaka Lodge, because the north end of Lake George is also the best spot from a boating, dining and fishing standpoint, with Silver Glen Springs being the crown jewel

Seems great here, unfortunately for us as I arrive, just had to start raining lol for the short time we was here, I always check ppl and places out! To be honest not one person look mad or without smiles My kinda place ✌️place was really clean of trash or weeds! Who ever runs this place cares, and not all about money! Next time I will check out the food and bar

We have been going here for about ten years for a week in late January just to get out of the cold in Virginia It has always been very clean and quiet, no matter which cabin we stay in for the week They are always very good about letting us keep our bass boats trailered and close by our cottage

Most evenings are very quiet and enjoyable The same was for this years trip We did see changes and things happening that I don’t know are for the good We noticed two nights of our stay this year that it was loud outside passed 11 pm and close to midnight with people talking loudly, lights from golf carts running by the cabin while we were trying to sleep It was the two nights that people were around the bar at the river We have never experienced this during any of our prior stays We hope the changes that we are seeing are not that of partying and loud music all hours of the night We go down to enjoy quiet nights and beautiful days on the river We are planning 10 day next year and we hope the changes we saw this year is different We love this little community and all the ammenities

This is one of the best motel/ hotels we have stayed in We normally stay in a Hilton Chain

But this place was just as good or even better than places we stayed before We had a GREAT VIEW FROM OUR ROOM! A GOOD BREAKFAST AND THE RESTAURANT WAS AMAZING AS WELL GREAT FISHING SPOT! WE HAVE ALREADY BOOKED AND PAID FOR OUR NEXT STAY!!

This was a nightmare stay for me I requested a King bedroom facing the river which I didn’t get It was smoking towers around the whole motel and I asked for non-smoking room My air wasn’t really working at all they said they only had a king room available for me to move to because my air wasn’t working but it was a smoking room

If I tell you I can be in a smoking room whytry to give me one & I have asthma Then they give me a key to another room that was hot So I give them the key back tried to find another hotel but everything was booked because of the Bass event So I had to stay in the room but the guy at the front desk told the next agent that I left which was a lie Then the new guy said that the guy called the room & someone answered which was another lie because the phone wasn’t working it has static in it so you couldn’t hear anything Because at 9:25am I was awaken from my sleep by someone knocking on my door to clean it because he was told nobody was in the room So I go back downstairs to hear all these lies I leave come back later to get dressed for my class reunion and someone had been in my room made up the bed & everything but they had a sign at the front desk say they wouldn’t be cleaning any stay overs unless the guest requested because of COVID-19 but I didn’t request anything I have had a horrible experience

We paid cash for a room with two beds because they said no singles were available There was maybe ten cars in the parking lot total We didn’t get our cash deposit back for the room and it’s the only reason we stayed here

Nothing was damaged or taken from the room but they never checked it Although it’s very nice and clean, some common courtesy for the hard working tax prayers here in Florida can go a long way for future reference I’ll never stay here again We (my husband and I ) lost a $5000 deposit

This hotel looks recently remodeled, we were a bit disappointed with coffee and breakfast options, since it was the weekend we expected more not a microwable egg burrito that really didn’t look appetizing coffee was average for a Best WesternThe cleaning staff were not too helpful I would no stay there again
