Right off the highway Gas station with a subway about 20 yards to the left and McDonald’s to the right of the hotel Rooms were clean except both of our rooms had soda cans in them I believe were left from the cleaning crew

Breakfast area seating is smaller but had eggssausagewaffle maker and other normal stuffElevator was broken after breakfast but front desk just had to reset it to fix itSeems like a newer hotel Was satisfied with my stay

Aside from breakfast (that wasn’t good & I had no hot food options) this was an AWESOME stay at an awesome hotel! WOULD definitely stay again! I was a solo traveler & the location made me feel safe I TRULY appreciated hotel staff, Brian I informed him of a couple of issues I had with my room and he immediately resolved it

Brian was VERY pleasant and nice from check in to check out Thank you Brian as this type of hospitality & kindness is RARE and EVEN more so nowadays!

Melody Bonilla

So the place was nice, but needs updates The first room that I was put in smell like cigarettes, it was really bad, but I have to say the gentleman was nice to look for another room and found one on the 3rd floor That room was clean and smelled good

My daughter’s and I were able to breathe and sleep good We have bad allergies, so that first room did not help when we arrived I feel the staff should check on rooms to make sure they are clean and does not have any smell especially when people are traveling all day and night, like we were and just wanted to check in and sleep

Kayla Zoch

The pictures are a lie This place is pretty grungy I had to be moved rooms cuz the carpet was sticky

Then I got to my new room and it was hot and musty That did improve with the ac but the fridge was complete turned off and hot so all the ice around the ice box had melted It took over 24 hours for it to cool down and then it never really felt cold but froze my food So I turned it down a tiny bit and the ice melted again It was a no win situation The bathrooms are grungy The staff is nice and the breakfast was actually really decent It got a bit noisy at times but staff was able to fix that The pool was closed and wasn’t something I’d swim in And the gym was really bad If you need a place to sleep That’s about all you’ll get

I had the opportunity to spend over a week at Stay-Over Suites in Hopewell VA I am sensitive to my environment, so every hotel stay I never know how my body will react, if I’ll feel sick when I wake up, or if I’ll sleep well Stay-Over Suites in Hopewell is a very healthy building! I felt great there – wish I could live there actually because I felt so good and slept so well!! That is not the case with most places I stay, so this is a high mark for how clean and healthy this facility is!! The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable making for an even better night sleep! It’s quiet, clean, and comfortable

The service is also excellent! They are friendly, welcoming, and helpful! Peter and every employee interaction was very professional, and they strive to make your stay a welcoming, homey one I also appreciated all the amenities such as washer/dryer onsite, dining area with breakfast every morning, coffee and hot water for tea/coffee whenever you want it, 5 gallon spring water for drinking, full kitchen in room, fitness room, elevator I also felt very safe there day or night Traveling alone, this was very important to me I’m so grateful for the opportunity to stay at Stay-Over Suites! I’m looking forward to next time! Highly recommend!! If I could give it more stars, I would!

Great IHG in the area! Just a couple things to note! The rooms are nice and what you would expect from this brand of hotel They have been refurbished recently They also have a DVD player in the room and dvds available at the front desk

They have a good supply of stuff in their shop They have made it work with the gym… definitely not like other hotels in the chain, but the equipment is serviceable The office center and laundry are decent and functional One big downside is the lack of breakfast… but since this IHG chain is owned by another company in this area I suspect that this is why… oddly enough there is a high concentration of 420 users in the area so that smell is everywhere Also, for whatever reason there is allot of mud in the halls and around the building… over all the staff are helpful but don’t expect a lot above the typical 2 star hotel… LASTLY, there is a train that runs right behind the building every couple hours If you are a light sleeper, get a room on the other side of the building at least

This hotel is always nice and clean Housekeeping staff really shines here The rooms are outstanding! Kitchenette is great for extended stay with a grocery store next door

The beds are firm yet soft with exquisitely soft pillows 24 hour coffee, and on site Laundry From check in to check out the front desk staff are pleasant and helpful, they really shine here too! Perfect proximity to Fort Lee There is no other choice for a hotel while visiting or PCSing to Fort Lee but this one This is a 5 star hotel!

Leah Thompson

The AC wall unit didn’t work so the fan part was the only thing that we could use so it was either freezing cold or sweltering and occasionally there was black stuff that blew out of it I was up all night having to switch it on and off to regulate the temperature for my family The refrigerator made noise all night and when you turn on the water in the shower the tub will fill up completely and if you didn’t hold the handle correctly on the toilet it wouldn’t flush! Definitely wouldn’t book this place again

The only reason for the two stars is the beds were super comfortable

Overall hotel is in great condition and on par with what you expect from Hampton Inn Staff is friendly but unreliable Stayed 2 weeks and asked for my room to be cleaned three times

First time they did it Second time I had to ask twice Third time they just didn’t do itI also asked for a late check out and they told me I’d have to talk to house cleaning I asked who do I talk to and they said they wouldn’t be there for a few hours I expect my concierge to coordinate for me and let me know Just disappointed with this whole experience

Stefan Schurter

It’s good for the location If the wind catches the smell of the huge dump behind them(not their fault) well, then not so much But best place in Colonial Heights and super quiet as there is no freeway or road close by

Yet 1 minute of the O95 Now add fruit back to your breakfast and daily housekeeping plus the to go breakfast and you get one or two more stars

P A

The front office staff could not have been better They deserve a 5 Erica, Jarontarris Thompson, Brie to name a few could not have made the welcome more warm and they were accommodating

The facilities were regretfully the low point I changed rooms (which Erica and Jarontarris was all over) because my first bed mattress was not good, the room temperature was difficult to regulate (could not find the “too hot” or “too cold” balance), and the gym was okay at best, but one of the treadmills stopped mid run and I almost flew off!If I were to stay there again, I know the staff is among the best I have ever seen, just wish the facilities were a bit better! But thanks as always!

We have stayed at this hotel several times and enjoyed it completely This time, the toilet seat was lose However, when we came back to the room, housekeeping must have reported it because it was fixed

The breakfast which we usually enjoy was awful I ended up getting fruit and left the majority of my food on the plate I would have rated it lower but the service was generally speaking still good I know they were having staffing issues in the kitchen as is the case with many place unfortunately I do plan to stay there again

I checked-in at this hotel on Monday(16 May 22, and checked-out on Friday morning) During my check-in, I signed-up for room-service on Tuesday and Wednesday I spent the night and the next morning I went to work

Since I am an Engineer at a site which is under construction activities, I am required to use safety shoes instead of regular shoes So I left my regular sports shoes in my room in a plastic bag in which I brought my safety shoes with me from my home(I usually Air-travel to Richmond and then reach my work site using rental car, I prefer to use sports shoes since they are comfortable for lengthy walks at the airport)I returned from work on Tuesday evening and went to my room to freshen up for dinner with my colleagues I noticed that my safety shoes were missing While leaving the hotel for dinner, I complained at the front desk that my shoes were missing from my room and I was told that the matter will be investigated and it will be reported back to me I complained at the front-desk after thorough inspection of my room because I did not want to be in a situation where the hotel would end up finding my shoes from my room after my complaintI thought that the housekeeper must have thrown a plastic bag in which I left my shoes considering it was garbage without opening the bag to check what was inside of the bagThe investigation took 4 days and I was told on Friday evening (I was about to step-in to my home in Knoxville, TN when I received a call from GM) that the House-keeper who cleaned my room on Tuesday morning works there for more than 17 years and they have no reason not to trust them The Housekeeper told her(GM) that they should not have thrown my shoesNow, I have ended up losing my shoes and I was made responsible for losing my own shoes because housekeepers did not throw them away Knowing the fact that I stayed at this hotel for 22 days in the past three months and being a Hilton Honors member, I was made responsible for losing my own property indirectly I was offered a partial reimbursement for the shoes which did not matter to me because I was expecting an apology that their housekeeping did not do their job properly because of which I ended up losing my shoes, the shoes may have been something else, either valuable or something cheapConclusion: If you choose to stay here for any reason then either do not sign-up for room-service or be responsible for losing your own items because there are high chances that you will end up being responsible for losing your own item I only lost shoes but you may end up losing precious items So please think at-least twice before staying here and know the risk of staying at this hotel And this hotel has a history of people (maintenance staff) stepping-in rooms even after seeing a do not disturb sign hanging on the door, please check google reviews to verify my claim, I saw that review when I was writing this review

Astar ACM

Extremely overpriced for what you get $191 for one king size bed and two people Nothing special or spectacular about the room at all; semi-comfortable bed (definitely used), one very used desk chair, decent lounge chair with footstool, medium size TV with a difficult to use remote

No free breakfast, but you can buy it This place is 100% about how much money they can charge you I would not recommend it It is, however, set in a good location with several restaurants add Starbucks within walking distance

This hotel is great compared to the rest of the hotels in the area The staff was super friendly, they have a covid policy The breakfast was good, and the room was cleaned and had an awesome lay out

My only complaint would be the limited handicapped parking I had to drop my wife at the door and then park in the strip mall parking lot a few times

Andrew Bruno

The staff was friendly enough but they charged an early check in fee without a heads up What I mean by that is, we showed up early after getting a text from them that the room was ready

When we arrived, they said we would be charged an early check in fee Why charge a fee when you’re the ones telling me it’s ready? In any case, the real issue was that the first room had a cockroach in it So glad I checked in early so I could have an unclean room! They were kind enough to waive the pet cleaning deposit since we had our dogs but then they put us in our new room That had ants! So lucky! The breakfast was okay Nothing spectacular but better than the boring red delicious apple, banana, and yogurt cup I wouldn’t want to stay there again but felt forced because our options were limited having the dogs with us and my cousin was getting married that dayThey also sent my uncle to my parents room to check in by accident just because they had the same last name Not exactly confidence inspiring is it?Imagine your name is Greg Smith and you’re in the shower, and you walk out to some guy named Jeff Smith starting at your naked body? Just say no thanks to this hotel

Ron at the front desk gave us the best experience in customer sevice After having difficulties with my initial reservation at a nearby hotel He was more than welcoming in the late hour we checked in

He was patient and understanding He made sure we had everything we needed to feel safe and comfortable for our nights stay The room was spacious very tidy and had all the household amenities one would need I definitely recommend staying at this hotel and a raise for Ron!

I was recently sent here by the American Red Cross after my family and I had lost our home to a house fire The first day or so was fine, but when you need to say longer then a few days it becomes a real nightmare Both the management staff and cleaning staff are not present

When you do have the misfortune of speaking with the manager you are disrespected, talked down on and treated like a second class citizen Unfortunately, due to my situation I’m stuck Cleaning was three days late and required multiple requests Then once Cleaning was done in 8 minutes you are left with one bed made, floors filthy like when I moved in and they took my kids towels I asked for because they only provide 4 Which I enough for one day Any parent k ows sometimes multiple baths are required when they are 5 and 7 years old None the less, they took them so I was left in worse shape then before Many more issues but I can’t keep then all straight I’m already stressed out, this place will add to it

Brandon Washington

Clean! The ladies here do a great job keeping it cleanFriendly! Tayja & Tony at the front desk are a real joy to be around

Damn near like familyThis hotel is located behind a great bar/brunch location and in the heart of many good places to keep you busy while you visit this area Let me park my Truck and car trailer for a couple weeks at bottom of parking lot no issue! Going to miss it when we are gone!

Terrible Stay, Horrific Follow-Up, Wedding Party Stay DisasterReserved large block of rooms, conference room, etc as a base for guests during wedding weekend Poor communication and follow up when management changed hands to Mr

Gilbert Capate Arrived to 2BR suite Friday night, had a heavy odor like Chinese food, shrugged it off Did not appear very clean/disinfected/wiped down Shower in BR 1 not functional- completely clogged, as we discovered Sat morning- day of he wedding That left 4 adults scrambling to use 1 shower 3 of the 4 of us were in the wedding, so did not have the luxury of time Returned late Sat night, go to bed Arise early Sunday knowing the shower situation, tried to be first to the only working shower to discover it CRAWLING WITH MULTIPLE BUGS Go down to the front desk to show photos and video of said shower, to have the woman tell me “oh that’s nasty!” but there was nothing she could do since a manager was not on site So for an almost $500 hotel bill I have 4 people with no way to shower after a late night of wedding festivities We were so frustrated we packed our stuff and went home feeling gross After almost TWO MONTHS of attempting to follow up with the manager, Gilbert Capate, he emailed me that he was offering 15k Marriott points (essentially, one night at a lower level Fairfield) for my “inconveniences” This was more than inconvenience, this was disgusting! He claimed to have deposited the points into my Bonvoy account on May 2 When I questioned him almost three weeks after he claimed to have deposited the points, he went radio silent…AGAIN Finally, I called Marriott customer service, to be told he’d not deposited anything They immediately took action and issued me points and apologized for such a poor experienceManagement of this hotel is dishonest and unresponsive This place is disgusting, please, go elsewhere If you are hosting a wedding nearby, such as at The Barns at Kanak, seriously, save yourself the trouble and go with another property, even if it means a longer drive This place was a nightmare Oh, and the guests that stayed at THIS hotel? We all came home with the bonus of being COVID POSITIVE, 45+ people

Room 412 : yuckI am very shocked and surprised honestly The room itself when you enter felt fine but the bathroom!! What happened there? I put three pictures to explain my doubt about being clean For some guests it might not be a deal breaker but for me it is because then I have unease about the whole room

At $200 the night, I am quite disappointed1) when I arrived the shelves above the toilet had dust — I wiped it and moved on but the mirrors were dirty, the shelves next to the mirror had some kind of spit consistency and worse of all Intake my shower and find on a mat a piece of what looks like food (maybe bacon)

To our surprise, we found a handicap accessible room without a reservation The bathroom could use a little remodeling; however we were pleased with the bars and bench in the bathroom My mom appreciated the close proximity to the elevator

The balcony is useless overlooking a highway It is the perfect spot to smoke but the hotel does not allow that Their bistro includes a clever sustainable menu offering beer, wine and cocktails The staff is accommodating and friendly I particularly liked the noon checkout Definitely worth the couple extra dollars that is outside of our budget

Jessica Hill

My dad surprised us and drove all the way from NJ to celebrate his birthday with us in Virginia!! This location was much closer to Colonial Heights and the room was located on the LL, which gave direct access to parking, the pool, and the outdoor sitting The pool closes late at 11pm, which is great because the kids had much more time to swim I want to also add the temperature was amazing, although they didn’t have a jacuzzi the pool was warm

I loved the seating area in front, which also serves as the complimentary breakfast area Will definitely check back in the future Happy Birthday Dad!! We love you!!

Christina So

Stayed at this location for a week because of work and glad that I chose this over another hotel because it was closer to where I needed to be for work that week The front desk employees were great and when I got hungry in the evening, I’m glad they have a Bistro open so that I didn’t have to leave the hotel or order take outAlthough everything about this hotel was great there is one area that might need some improvement

Their Gym, it was smaller then I expected and barely had any equipment in there The elliptical was broken, think the AC was not working either and they didn’t have Dumbbells that were less than 20# then it jumped to like 50# so there really weren’t any in between or lighter weight I was kinda disappointed by that but I was able to find another gym close by so that was fine

Clean beautiful with great looking exercise equipment room and well-kept for the rooms are spotless The sheets look like they could have been straight out of the package Our room had a full kitchenette which would’ve made it the ideal room if we were planning on staying for a longer period of time (I wish we had time to!)

Great value good times

Philiaravon

The king sized bed is great for us but I recommend you bring your own pillows though Their pillows are couch pillow sized The mattress is obviously wrapped underneath the sheets to prevent transferance of certain bugs we all dread when going to a hotel

Because of that wrap or something like a hard plastic, you’ll make a lot of noise turning in your sleep Their Netflix is down but you can still access youtube thankfully I would still go here again because of the room familiarity and excellent comfort in a well air conditioned room Checking in and out was effortless Staff were very pleasant!

Gail Walton

The host of the front desk was very nice The room appeared very clean My issue is with the bed, which was the worst bed I have ever been in whether in a motel, hotel or home

We were traveling from Pennsylvania to North Carolina I got absolutely no sleep at all The complimentary breakfast items were a waste The coffee was worse than dirty dishwater And even worse was the facial tissues and toilet paper You actually could see through them, so using them for the intended purpose was ridiculously impossible I wasted $13990 staying at this place For a senior on a very limited income with no savings that money could have put food on my table The reason we stopped at a Best Western as opposed to another hotel, was when we used to stay in Best Western in Maryland, we always enjoyed ourselves The name needs to be changed to worst Western Plus Hopewell

This house was a Wonderfully appointed 19th century home! Not only was it beautiful, clean, and tastefully decorated, but the ambience is marvelous Claudia is an excellent hostess, and her attention to detail is above reproach I would recommend this bed-and-breakfast to anyone who loves historical detail, but also wants a warm and welcome to stay

The rooms are very large, and the closet tub did not disappoint!

Really elegant and maintained home where you can just park and walk to Petersburg things to do So much space to dine in the big rooms, coffee & drinks everywhere inside, a sweet back area with tables and chairs to sip wine (complimentary) and write postcards Large bedrooms, modern heat/water

And Claudia is a warm and gracious host and chef Thanks!

Front desk check in man was nice and helpful with every complaint The hotel owners need to attend to their investment The first room we got smelled like cigarette smoke, the second room seemed fine so we showered and put our night clothes on and then discovered the AC wouldn’t work AT ALL, the third room that we were moved into the tv wouldn’t work and after looking it over we found that someone had unplugged the box and then wouldn’t work at all when plugged in

The hotel has been patched but not repaired Needs owner attention terribly!!

Had a rough check-in The keycards did not work at the first room The next room had a TV that didn’t get a signal and therefore did not work

Finally, the third assigned room was fine, however, I was pretty tired after the 6 hour drive so I was not too happy going up and down from the fourth floor two times I think I was given a ten percent discount because of the BS so it actually turned out alright The room was clean and comfortable and the rest of the stay went uneventful Coffee and breakfast was pretty good

The room could have been great, however one look at the floor in the bathroom was stomach turning I don’t think it had ever been cleaned I spread towels down to walk on it

The sheets were not changed I pulled back the comforter and they were not like clean sheets look like They were wrinkled and usedI used to frequent Holiday Inn a couple of times a year, but after this stay they definitely lost a customer

Great staff Decent prices Rooms are starting to show signs of needing repair

Good location to many restaurants and very close to Fort LeeOnly complaint I had is was with other guests as they seem to think they are the only ones in the hotel The people in the room above me had untamed children as they bounced and ran all hours of the night even at 200am People You need to start respecting the others guests in the hotel

I wish I could give no stars stayed here for two weeks and nothing but issues

First off the building only has one washer and dryer for the entire hotel which was an unpleasant experience Second, to make matters even worse I woke up one morning with bug bites all over my body, which definitely was bed bugs! They moved me up to another room which looked like it hadn’t even been serviced yet, but anything was better than to be one more second in that last room Third, the key cards had constant issues of not working for my room and entering the building from the back door parking area Lastly, on my last day before check out and packing my bags I realized I was missing a few items(headphones and a Xbox controller carrying case with accessories) Went to the desk asking if they had it and they said no, so I asked if I could be taken up to the room so I can look and they said two other people had stayed in that room! Which I had just left that room two nights before, therefore my assumption is they did not care about the bed bug situation, gross! If you are on travel order for military, STAY AWAY FROM HERE!

The people were real nice that worked here! Unfortunately the rooms were infested with mold We had option to change rooms and they all smelled like mold It is extremely sad that our military people are having to stay in these rooms and breathe that

It took me a week to get rid of the cough I Just don’t want anyone else to have to experience this especially if you have respiratory issues or allergies The air conditioner in our second room had chunks of mold in it too I have attached the photo Outside the building and the pool all look great which is deceiving This place needs to be torn down
