Great staff Good rooms My only suggestion is to get rid of the carpets as the room smells like dogs in the room designed for dogs

Install tile which will give the room a much cleaner smell, especially since you charge an extra $75 for dogs so it shouldn’t smell like dogs And it wasn’t just me, some guy in the hallway told his wife, this floor (1st floor) smells like dogsOtherwise it is a well ran hotel with excellent staff Heated pool which is very nice Decent breakfast included and a very friendly breakfast staff

Immaculately clean, friendly staff, great breakfast, updated amenities, absolutely zero complaints about this Hotel The bed was huge, the room had nice furniture, towels stocked to the brim They even had mouthwash with the room

I also appreciated the military rate Overall great experience and I will be back next time I am in the area

Jessica Harman

Clean and comfortable place in a good spot off highway However the maid came in and hour and half before checkout without knocking rudely saying when are yall leaving? I said check outside at noon and she says no 1030 than walks out and slams my door I called front desk immediately and they only blamed it on her being new

But even new people should have better manners than that and know the check out time

If I could I would give 1 star but this star can be for great locationThis was very unpleasant stay First morning someone came into our room at 6:30am even though it was locked and latch was closed but it obviously doesn’t work, luckily we have a dog so she started barking right away and until I got up there was nobody in the hall

Also I didn’t feel safe because windows on the ground floor rooms are not locked It’s very old hotel it smells bed when you get into the room even though is clean but you feel stale smell furniture has a lot of old stains and it’s very very old Second morning I went to front desk to ask for 2 towels since first night and 2nd night we used only 2 we had in room and this lady was very unpleasant! She was very unhappy that I am asking for towels and told me that I have to put the dirty ones in front of the room in a very rude way also on the checkout morning, the lady who cleans the room asked me 3 times when we will check out already from 8am she started which made us feel very uncomfortable Also both days at breakfast the pitcher with hot water had lukewarm water I asked for hot and didn’t get itI stayed in more than 10 different Quality Inns around US there was only 1 in Alabama that is worst than this one There is 2 other hotels just down the road and those were fully booked so next time if I come here I wouldn’t stay in this Quality Inn and I wouldn’t recommend it

Dianna Crookham

I am not one to write reviews but had to on this onewould have done a zero if we could Had we not already paid for this room and couldn’t get a refund- would have left

Even considered doing just that and eating the cost of a second motel This motel it totally dirty About a years worth of dust around the bases of all the very worn furniture The bathroom mirror looks like had not been cleaned in a while Floors were dirty in the halls and in the room Did not looked like they had been vacuumed in awhile Found other peoples long hair in the chair Only hoped the sheets were clean We are writing Quailty Inn off any future travel plan as did not find any Quality here from the unhelpful front desk staff who talked badly about the other guests to each other while we were trying to check in to the full experience

Will B

There frequently, the staff is very helpful especially Carolyn She is professional and such a sweet lady She went out her way on making a few adjustments that helped in my favor

The breakfast is decent, can’t complain If you do not want to be disturb in the morning before check out, I suggest putting the do not disturb plac on the door I’ll give it 5 stars because overall, I’m always comfortable there

Cheap and cheerful Room was pretty clean and comfortable, need better pillows on bed Nothing fancy in the decor but that wasn’t something I needed

Did not try the breakfast but did want coffee and they had run out of coffee, during breakfast Front desk staff was friendly during check-in and brought me a new remote to my room when mine didn’t work Have stayed here before and if price is right will stay here again

Patricia Dearman

The first room we had – toilet didn’t work We were immediately moved to another room When we entered the second room – there was a partial bottle of water sitting by the TV – I assumed left by cleaning staff

Everything seemed to be clean – however I didn’t check the bathtub When I got in in morning – there was blue soap/shampoo/conditioner residue in one of the inserts in the tub I cleaned the tub before I used it Breakfast was terrible – More people than food Food was cold Front staff was nice – but the hotel is not worth staying in

I stayed here May 9th 2022 The bad reviews made me drive right past it but due to the outrageous city and county taxes closer to town I ended up coming to see if it really was that bad and I’m glad I did The owner is a very nice lady, staff was friendly and there was no complaints at all with the room itself

The room was clean and had everything you needed for a overnight stay Plenty of restaurants and shopping is only 2 exits away I assured the owner I would be back For the money the location and peacefulness was 5 star alone I highly recommend checking this place out It’s by itself but very close to everything I also suggest you pick up the motel coupon book to get a even better price

T Smith

Not much has changed in the past couple of years

I cannot see where the rooms have had much in way of improvementSame mix of decent, friendly guests as well as some who seem maybe either a little shady or just trying to cope with circumstancesOffice staff, at least the primary lady, Erin, continues to be the saving grace of the placeEnjoyClean, cost effective and convenient location just off the exit Staff is nice, housekeeping polite and trustworthy No extras, like a restaurant, bar or other extras we have grown to likeIf you need an extended stay in that area, this is the only choiceAny of the other local, (15 Miles) hotel/motels are nasty, rude staff, criminal elements living thereThe nice man on the end even has a small garden growing in pots in a parking placeYou can even use your grill outside if you care to cook a home like meal on the roadA most importantly, if you travel with your dog or cat, they are welcome as wellYou can’t go wrong with this place

Jenn Davidson

Upon my arrival my father found a marijuana cigarette on the bedspread The evening shift laughed about it and I let it go due to the seriousness of my father’s injury earlier in the day which is the reason we were staying at the hotel in the first place The next day the morning associate asked me to pay a pet fee which I was happy to do and that night I found prescription drug tablet for major depressive disorder which could have poisoned and killed my 5 lb pomeranian

The evening front desk associate said she had nothing to do with it because she told the manager when she got hired she had nothing to do with housekeeping Although she had been pleasant with me there is a real serious need for customer service training When I went outside this morning to share with the front desk associate about the pill from last night I found broken glass on the sidewalk I could have stepped on from the party they allowed to happen last night outside one of the rooms After the front desk associate this morning explain there was nothing she could do about any of it I returned to my room to make a cup of coffee and found a local residence driver’s license under the tray where the coffee pot sits on The complete lack of housekeeping is horrendous Nobody should find prescription drugs on the carpet of their hotel room nobody should find marijuana cigarettes on the bedspread or bugs in the corner and other guest driver’s license sitting on the bathroom counter under a coffee pot tray The morning shift lady lack of empathy and complete incompetence in regards to how to do her job should be criminal She said that the chance that my dog might have eaten that prescription pill and died was hypothetical and refused to discuss it with me and I find the entire thing ridiculous I would never recommend this hotel to absolutely anybody And all of the years that I have traveled and stayed at hundreds maybe thousands of hotels I have never in my life even paying $29 a night had to deal with this level of uncleanliness and unprofessionalism

Awesome experience and customer service Very clean rooms and great food When the restaurant is open on the weekends parking is hard to find but the street parking adjacent to the park is also available and seemed safe

A great hotel for train enthusiasts as well! Multiple opportunities to see long trains, especially after midnight! Be on the lookout for the twice daily train with the caboose!

Theresa Jones

There is a train right next to the hotel We worried it would go all night with the whistle but we didn’t hear it between 9:30 and 5:30, but especially if you are on that side, you will be awakened I see other reviews mention it going all night

This was a Sunday The floors, walls and ceilings are not well soundproofed and you will hear televisions and noise from the restaurant, which fortunately has a last seating at 8:30, at least currently It’s an old building with restrictions on what they can do However the rooms are very nice, clean, and pretty well stocked Ours had 2 sinks There are keurig coffee makers and the pillows and bed were very comfortable Restaurant was reasonable with good food I will update after the breakfast Supposedly it is varied and hot

Christina McCann

This looked like a great stay off the beaten path during 2 days of long driving It has a lot of character and the rooms are unique and clean All of the front desk and wait staff were very nice and helpful

The restaurant was also a great place for dinner All of the good things don’t really matter when you’re in a hotel that you can’t get any sleep in! My whole family has been up almost all nightThe NOISE:The reviews that mention the train are 100% true After we checked in, a very loud train came by right across the street at 6pm, 8pm After the 8pm, the front desk told us the next one wouldn’t be until the morning Well, they kept rolling in at 2am, 4am and 4:45amWhile you’re not sleeping due to the train, the walls and floors are also paper thin We can hear everyone from every which way I think I know all the children’s names around us, what people watch on TV, and that there is a man who is incredibly sick either below me or next to me In the insanity, my husband and I had to joke that we were in Shawshank and wondered who was gonna break first

We stayed during our TransAmerica Trail cycle trip, I needed to do some laundry but they don’t have a laundry at the motel, I asked where the nearest one was and the manager said it was downtown (about 3 miles away) We had already ridden 125km so I didn’t really want to go downtown to do my laundry No problem for Himal Desai, the manager, he offered to take me there in his car and pick me up when I was finished! On top of that the motel is clean, the staff very helpful and breakfast was included

Excellent service, well above what you should expect

I stayed at this hotel one night when I was on a business trip with my coworker I get the 2 Queen beds room and the hotel room is very clean and comfortable The hotel staff is friendly and easy check-in process

It is very easy to access to the freeway I-81, but it looks like not many place for eating around this hotel I saw only few fast food restaurants and gas stations, so you may have to some drive to get the food if you want to avoid the fast food during you are staying

_ “‪V‬”

If you’re coming from a long trip, you’ll fall asleep right away in the beds here I was sleeping so well that i opted into skipping breakfast in favor of continuing to sleep before I checked out for the morning The breakfast looked great through, maybe some day I’ll get a chance to visit again

The only thing i would say to be aware of is that the area is very dark at night Take it slow and you’ll be fine, but other than that it’s a great location!

G Kessel

Reserved a king bed room there but when we arrived it hadn’t been cleaned Reassigned to a double queen room which smelled strongly of body odor Unvacuumed

A piece of some unidentifiable substance (food? feces?) on the floor Brown stains on a bedspread, blood on a mattress cover Substandard bedding Sink drain clogged I’m not hard to please but this was unacceptable

Such a great venue and atmosphere If you’re looking for a beautiful place to host a party, an event, and especially a wedding Look no further than here

They will give you a fair price, and you and your guests will be glad you chose Nesselrod on the New The new owner, Jeff is a great guy who is friendly, respectful, and honest He will work with you to make sure that your special day is wonderful!

Evie Frazier

We recently stayed at the Nesselrod on the New under the new owners Jeff was super accommodating, and helpful in giving local recommendations for places to eat and activitiesWe stayed in the room with the twin beds (it was me and my son)

The room was spacious, very clean, and quiet, and had large windows that allowed for lots of light and a great view of the property, Radford and a bit of the riverThe beds were VERY comfortable, and the shared space with the TV on the main level was welcomed as it allowed us to feel at home and not confined to a “hotel room” My son enjoyed some YouTube videos while eating breakfastWe also explored the property which is really cool Lots of walking paths You can also walk to the Rocco’s, a Mexican restaurant with outdoor seating Just across the bridge, is Radford and Main Street with lots of local restaurants and a coffee shopYou’re just steps from the riverfront park with miles of paved walking trails, tennis courts, playground, volleyball court, and kayak/tubing rentals We enjoyed the trails during the down time It was nice to have such proximity to nature! If we’re in the area again, we’ll definitely be back! Though I imagine they’ll be full as others discover what an awesome gem this is under the new management!

This Comfort Inn was a very well maintained, older hotel The grounds and parking lot were free of trash There was a very small pet area at the end of the parking lot on a hill

The pet area is slightly sloped so it’s not a problem They do provide a pet station with waste bagsThe entire hotel (that we could see) was very clean and comfortable The complimentary breakfast looked very good with a variety of hot and cold items, and the staff was keeping up with any messes that occurred We didn’t partake but I checked it out when I got coffee There is always hot coffee, tea, and water available in the lobby along with a basket of fresh fruitThe downside was that even with our “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door knob, housekeeping walked into our room unannounced THREE TIMES in two days Both mornings around 10 am, and the first afternoon at precisely 4:43 in the afternoon Check out is 11 am, so I’m not really sure why they’d enter unannounced with the sign on the door

Kim R

Our room was very clean, smelled fresh, it was warm and safe, great water pressure for showers, so much hot water and amazingly generous towels that were very clean and absorbent They welcomed us like family, were extremely kind about my two dogs, and provided us with a wonderful hot breakfast bar with fresh fruit and good coffee Everything we needed for a safe night’s stay, this location provided

Will definitely stay here again Plus there’s a dog walking area, it’s well lit all night, and i felt safe 4 star service for a 2star price

Andrea Grimm

We booked this hotel on our way to the beach because Wytheville is halfway to our destination We didn’t want to spend a ton of money because we were only going to be there for a few hours to sleep The room wasn’t the worst I’ve stayed in, but it could definitely have been cleaner

The room was also extremely hot and we were unsuccessful in getting it to cool down The check-in attendant was super nice and the process was quick and efficient The breakfast was decent, but there is not a lot of space to sit, especially when it gets busy Overall, not terrible, but you get what you pay for

Not a bad camping spot I don’t think I seen a laundry spot My only complaints is the noise from the bridge work is very overwhelming also

I think that the bath house could be a lot cleaner I have went to store owner 2x second time I simply ask for some cleaning supplies and a mop He said he already had someone clean them I know for a fact that it hasn’t been cleaned which only detailed taking out trash one time this week

Paul Hoover

Prefessional service lacks here, made reservations for a open space for a camper and was told when I showed up that my reservation didn’t matter, another employee had given my reservation to someone else then was told by the staff ” everybody makes mistakes” This is understandable if you are not trying to run a professional business Was told by some of the guests to look elsewhere

Very disappointing service from the staff Would not recommend to anyone
