We had a lovely stay here for two nights Our room was large and well appointed, and the bathroom was big and all marble, with a no- fog mirror The hotel was beautiful, very clean, tastefully done

The online check-in was quick and easy, same for checkout There was music in the bar, which was lovely, and the bartender, Robert, was delightful We really loved having a balcony and a nice view of country Club plaza, and we were close to everything The beds were really comfortable, with one firmer pillow and one that was soft and comfy The restaurant was great, and our breakfast was really nice All the hotel employees went out of their way to do whatever they could for usWe did have an issue with the A/C, since I’m always cold and we could not get it warm enough, so we just turned it off The only thing I could suggest is a towel rack in the bathroom by the vanity, that would make things easier, but overall everything was amazing We’re planning on returning, and possibly staying at the concierge level next time Beautiful hotel!

First stay here Hotel is beautiful and spotless Staff are personable and professional

Although requests weren’t spot on the first time, either wrong room or forgot something, every measure was taken to ensure requests were fulfilled Wait and cleaning staff were especially top notch with care attention you’d expect in a five star resort Salad at American Slang restaurant was perfect Rooms were above average, with robe and slippers Management seems somewhat new in the profession but adapting Overall a great great experience

LaRhonda Boone

My husband and I had an impromptu date night The room and staff were amazing I highly recommend the concierge package so you can have access to the VIP lounge

Don elevated our experience to make it an unforgettable night There were several people waiting to check in and Jacob, who was walking out the door for the night, stepped in and helped everyone get checked in quickly We cannot wait to stay again

I stayed at Unity Hotel on 3/18/22 for the first time because I just randomly booked a room through Choice Hotels I didn’t expect to stumble upon such a wonderful place to stay The staff were all true definitions of servant leaders focusing energy on helping those visiting

The amount of warmth and the beautiful spirits within everyone I came across was a wonderful surprise The energy within this hotel was calming and for the first time in over a week I actually slept through the night The decor throughout the hotel was beautiful and the rooms extremely clean and kept up I look forward to visiting the hotel and Unity Village in the future for a retreat Thank you all for a perfect experience!

From the gorgeous, expansive campus, to the neatly and brightly arranged rooms, to the hot complimentary breakfast, to the excellent staff, you cannot ask for a better accommodationThough a bit outside the city, it’s proximity away from the hustle and bustle is actually an alluring feature of the hotelAnd one of the best features above all is the sprawling campus and gardens outside the hotel

I dare say you’ll find a perk like this at any other hotel The nearby fountains, gardens, and nature trail were intimate and complemented the hotel perfectly Following a breakfast comprised of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and fresh lemon cucumber water, my family and I were able to explore and relish in the gardens/fountains all to ourselves I also like that the building itself operates more like a boutique than a large chain hotel Everything just seems personalized just for youI sure hope this place is able to stay open because this is the place we want to stay at whenever we pass thru KC

Daniel C

I can’t speak highly enough about Unity Hotel and its staff Check-in was easy/quick and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful I didn’t expect to find such a gem but was happy to book this spot for a short stay

Enjoyed the breakfast very much as well as the nature walk path outside Saw fireflies for the first time which was a small treat Would 100% book here again

First hotel review I’ve ever written but feel compelled to after my stay here From start to finish the hotel exceeded my expectations of hotel hospitality The accommodating staff at the front desk were above and beyond staff at way overpriced “luxury” hotels

The lobby and rooftop bars were perfect and the room was exceptional Great shower pressure and an A/c that got down to 62 (I’m from Texas, I need cold air) Would recommend to anyone wanting a fabulous one off hotel

This is truly the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and I stay in hotels about 30 nights a year I came across this place by accident…My flight out of MCI was cancelled, and so I had to quickly find another hotel on a Friday night I was truly blown away

The decor, the cleanliness and the staff, truly out of this world Half the money of many 4-star hotels, and I can’t say enough good things about this place I’m highly critical when it comes to accommodations, and there’s nothing about this room that could of been better Every last detail cared for, from the clean vents, to the freshly rolled bath mat and everything in between Just…wowI will tell you however, the noise level is intense Because it is such an amazing place, everyone under 30 wants to be there, and drinks…a lot So, it was difficult to get to sleep, and there were plenty of undesirables late in the evening outside and around the entrance, but hardly anything the hotel could do about thatI will absolutely stay here each time I return, and I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to stay at Marriott hotels in other cities, now that I’ve stayed here If you’re on business however, do be aware that it’s extremely noisy

One of the coolest hotels we have ever stayed at Love the modern industrial grand loft style design and decorGREAT staff, excellent customer service, beautiful suites (highly recommend Vault suite) rooftop bar has gorgeous view’s

Fine dining on site great time to dress up and enjoy! Joslyn, the hostess is awesome unforgettable person and the manager that runs the restaurant is outstanding We had a wonderful time but if you are looking for a “quiet hotel” this is not for you, high energy party environment

This hotel is beautiful, its staff friendly, and its location great I’ve stayed here twice now and plan to stay again as often as I can The rooms have a classic look and are immaculately clean

The building has an old soulful feel to itDuring my most recent stay, I presented a tax exemption document to the front desk at checkout time No hotel likes dealing with these, but Charlotte was patient and thorough in seeing it through, multitasking by helping other guests while she adjusted my bill I could not be more pleased with my experience

We stayed at the 21c Museum Hotel the second weekend in February 2022 We chose this hotel for the art, atmosphere, and the proximity to Knuckleheads Saloon, as we attended a concert that weekend as well The staff at the hotel is approachable, accommodating and very helpful

When we arrived, we were taken care of very well by Jonathan We also received a sweet, impromptu tour by ShellyThe rooms are what you would expect from this brand We needed a refrigerator, so we called the front desk, and received one right away The hospitality at this hotel is beyond their price point honestly Some more expensive hotels could really learn a few things from them They have some really great people working here The hotel is in a great neighborhood with great food choices in walking distanceIf you visit on the weekend, depending on what’s going on, you can find free parking on the street We will be back! Also, hopefully the penguins will come out of quarantine soon, but you can still take pictures with them where they stand The hotel staff also said they will have a completely new exhibit in April Very much looking forward to this

The room and bathroom were beautiful, spacious, and very clean The bed in the Valentine room is a low platform bed, which was fine for us The mattress is very soft, so if you have a bad back, I would suggest one of their other lovely rooms instead

There is a mini refrigerator that works really well! They have 2 stemless wine glasses, an opener, and 2 glass coffee cups in the room, so no need to bring your own The ambience is romantic and the location is superb I highly recommend

William Stamper

Stayed for 3 nights in the Southmoreland and really liked the room Nice size, nice amenities, and a wonderful balcony to sit and relax on Two complaints: (1) the Nelson-Atkins museum was closed both days we were there (bummer), and (2) we couldn’t stay longer

Loved the room, loved the grounds, loved the park/ museum proximity Next time we’re in town, we’ll book hereRecommendation: add a recycle container outside the staff area…

Heidi DeSchepper

We stayed here to celebrate my daughter’s 13th birthday It was me, my mom, and my daughter It was absolutely perfect! We stayed in the Westwood I and II and they were so clean and comfy

The bathroom was beautiful and huge! The owners were so kind and accommodating Such a beautiful home and so close to the plaza and art museum I can’t wait to come back and stay with my husband Highly recommend!

5 stars for cleanliness It was immaculate when I was there Beds were comfortable

Didn’t interact with staff much at all but they seemed respectful Breakfast was solid Typical bland hotel scramble eggs Cool pancake machine complete mess FREE! Push one button and out came 2 hot, fresh pancakes (it was my first time ever seeing this wonderful machine that should be a standard appliance in American households) It’s proximity to Arrowhead was the draw and it’s cleanliness will bring me back

Mags Journey

Wonderful hotel Very clean, amazingly friendly staff who went above and beyond The rooms were large and clean, beds were comfortable

Close to downtown, but without the noise But the best part is the staff Everyone of them were so nice We got to breakfast late and still got to eat, front desk had actually conversations with us and the night security guard chatted with us and was so helpful If we are ever back in KC, we will be back 100% recommend!

Abby Jones

Staff was very friendly and accommodating We booked same day, so we’re glad to find a placeWe looked at availability online and saw that there was a “large room” with “outdoor seating” available

Booked this room It was in the basement surrounded by maintenance rooms It clearly was a former conference/storage/break room that had been converted The room was advertised as non-smoking – it should have been advertised as a former smoking room – the air was stale & smelled of old smokeIt was a missed opportunity- yes the room was huge, but it had 2 beds and a desk The kids thought it was a gymnastics roomThe TV in the room did not work There was no hair dryer (only the former hookup on the wall), no coffee pot either The key card didn’t work for the outdoor seating area that had a strange gate and there was no seatingThe pool had a sign that it was not available, although we were told it was fine to swim – so we didFinal straw… there was this random doorbell button on the wall OUTSIDE of our room When pushed it gave off the most annoying shrieking sound – similar to a fire alarm going off! Shower was also lukewarm at best and only 2 towels and one tiny shampoo in the roomBreakfast was good Pancakes, juice and coffee were good I did see an ant climbing on the juice machine No cinnamon rolls available, no fresh fruit & no pre-made oatmealOverall this did not meet my Holiday Inn Express standard The only reason I gave this 3 stars is because every single staff member we saw or spoke to was very friendly!! They earned all 3 of my stars!

The hotel has a nice location close to the uptown theater and the action on the plaza within walking distance The front desk staff is helpful and very nice The room itself has wear and tear, but out king room came with a nice sofa and table

Parking isn’t super easy because it’s a garage with separate elevator access, but it was fine

Thomas

Wants to be a 4 star, but not there $2800 Valet under staffed when we got there and the rest of the weekend

Had 350 guests for a wedding, shouldn’t have been a surprise Check in was okay, but not real welcoming Slow elevators, seemed like only one of four was working Ice machine on 15th floor never worked Room a/c wasn’t working until about 10:30 our first night Toilet ran every 10 minutes Bridgette was the first friendly employee we ran into Breakfast hostess was nice and breakfast was good, but overpriced Wedding reception with 350 guests had two bars with a minimum of 15 minute service wait All issues can be excused to staffing issues, and I don’t like leaving negative reviews, except I expressed concerns on the Marriott Bonvoy site and was ignored Good service goes a long waypoor service, not much

Mama Bearnath

Will stay at this hotel again! Chance at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly the views of the Plaza were amazing and I loved having coffee in my room while looking out at the fountains The shower door punched our fingers but we had to be mindful of not putting our finger on the handle while getting out of the shower I loved the detachable shower head, made it easy to wash the kiddos after a humid day!

This is a historical landmark, which adds to the charm of this beautiful prohibition era hotel The rooms are a nice size If you like to have a drink I definitely recommend the speakeasy which is hidden behind the front desk wall

You enter through a hidden door downstairs in the basement The bar lounge is beautiful though and has a decent amount of nicely appointed seating My only issue with this hotel sometimes is the front desk staff doesn’t seem to be attentive to the guests’ needs It’s like they don’t want to be there If that changed, I would definitely give this place 5 stars

Kimberly J

I was a bit worried to stay here after reading some of the other reviews but was pleasantly surprised While they clearly have staffing shortages and are having to cut some corners the overall experience is pretty good The rooms and decor are unique compared to your average hotel, and if you get the bathtub room you are in for a treat

My check in experience was smooth and my room was clean enough All of the important surfaces (bed, tables/chairs, bathroom fixtures, main areas of floor) were very clean and free of stains While I would expect a 4 star hotel to be spotless, I wasn’t planning on using the space behind the chair, so I didn’t mind too much that it was dusty Some of the fixtures and furnishings were defiantly showing some wear and tear and could do with a replacement The room did have a mini fridge and microwave that were both clean, and not advertised as being includedThe AC worked well, although the room did feel a bit damp It was 100 outside and very humid, but my room was able to hang out at about 67, and I was on the 19th floor The public areas however were very hot I don’t think the halls had any working AC at all They also used an air freshener scent in the lobby area that made me wonder if the hotel was hosting an axe body spray conventionOverall I would definitely stay here again They rooms and decor are a step above your average hotel The staff is friendly and the location is great I just hope they can shine up their rooms so that they can provide a truly unbeatable experience

Shelby Purdun

I was told that when I checked in I did not have breakfast included for the people in my stay, i took the employees word and it wasn’t until the third day of my stay that I was told otherwise So not only Did I pay for two adults per day(4 days, 3 nights) but then I paid for breakfast elsewhere and all that I was offered was two well drink vouchers which I was unable to use, not because they were denied but because it was closed during my available times (Visiting for business)Also, the restaurant is quiet but the food was good

I expected an Italian menu for the breakfast once I did check it out before checking out of my room, but it was a light American style Menu online site is not up to date!! The employees at that time were attentiveThe room was nice, felt crowded for a deluxe suite because of the larger coffee tableThe shower was so uncomfortable It is a half glass door and because of that you can easily get cold while showering If the switch on the wall aaa a heat lamp/fan, mine did not work and was very dusty under the cover the water pressure was OK, but the shower head pointed to the wall so no heater, poor pressure, and got chilly super easily I did expect a better bathroom due to no pics on the siteOn the features it lists a boutique, there is NO boutiqueLobby was clean and always immaculate, I just wish that the rooms/service was up to par An area for improvementThe historical features of the hotel were a nice touchOverall I rate this a 2/5 because the price is average per night here and it’s possible I could’ve stayed elsewhere and had a better experience

This place was such a great stay! It was very homey with a quaint feel of comfort The staff was extremely helpful and so pleasant 10/10 recommend on staying here

Super close to the stadium!! Once we got our of the stadium traffic I would say it was about 6-8 minutes away from where everything stops with streets shut down to clear the stadium 😃 So convenient! 🤗 My girlfriend and I really loved all of the antique style furniture and the decor Was just a very neat little place to stay with some history

Shona Seiler

I have stayed at many B&B and this one was one of the best Very attentive host, private bath rooms with luxurious linens There were delicious snacks out every afternoon

Games, books and DVD’s for entertainment Decorating was tastefully beautiful The breakfast was to die for and would cook an alternative if needed Would definitely stay here again

Maggie Parker

Charming inn with comfortable, clean rooms and lots of personal touches that made it a perfect “home base” for us during our weekend in KC There’s complimentary coffee, soda and water in main room and desserts on the table each afternoon in addition to the homemade breakfast each morning Debbie is an attentive and accommodating innkeeper

She even made eggs for my husband and me for breakfast when she noticed we didn’t finish our initial plate, as neither of us are huge fans of French toast We stayed in the gorgeous Italian room with the spa tub and fireplace The bed was very comfortable, and I slept so well even though I usually have trouble sleeping away from home The inn is in a great location if you are planning to catch a few Royals games which is what we did Will definitely be returning in the future!

I was very underwhelmed by the Fontaine I had hoped it would live up to its “4-star” reputation but it’s way overpriced and needs more updating and maintenanceAn issue I had was that they advertise the prices to appear really low on Google

I was seeing in generic searches $112 a night That is absolutely not going to be the case We recently stayed 2 nights in a basic room and ended up paying $630 (including parking)As others have said, for the price, I would’ve expected more amenities They did have a rooftop bar which was nice, but the rooftop pool is really tiny No spa, very limited dining options, no robes in the rooms, etcThe lobby is nice and the shared facilities look the best But the individual rooms themselves need TLC Chipped paint, scuffs, rusty metal items…again just not what I expected for the star rating and costI don’t mind paying for excellence, but I wouldn’t stay again unless the rate was substantially decreased The value just wasn’t there for me

Ashley Lardino

You are only paying for the convenience of the location The lobby is beautiful and gives the illusion that you are staying at a very high end hotel The staff was very friendly

However, the room is very very basic And as in other reviews, our room was dirty The fridge had not been cleaned and had what looked like chocolate milk all over the inside It was dusty and the floors were dirtyThe only “luxury” was the walk in shower with the rainfall shower headThe rooftop pool was so small and the whole area was cramped It was hard to move around and uncomfortableI would not recommend this hotel if you are wanting a getaway for a special occasion Incredibly over priced for such an under whelming experience

Allen Pepito

Today, I planned a surprise reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday which is not for couple more days I’ve been in contact with Micheal Wallace in preparing for that day He has been kind and quick to respond to All (yes there were multiple interactions) my emails

The Fontaine hotel is mine and my boyfriend’s favorite stay-cation spot We have chosen to stay there 4 times now because of it cleanliness and beautiful rooms They also have an amazing rooftop pool and restaurant/bar The location is incredible since it is close to multiple restaurants and store at the plaza The parking is easy to find in the parking garage which has access to the hotel through an elevator Anyways, the customer service that I’ve receiving from Micheal in just planning this special night has been exceptional I just want to give a BIG THANK YOU to him for everything he has done

We really enjoyed the hotel The breakfast variety was really nice and suprising The hot breakfast was always changing each day and not your standard eggs, sausage and bacon everyday

The room was nice and clean We did use the fitness center multiple times and it had plenty of space, free weights, heavy balls, yoga balls, bikes and treadmills Pool was not overly large All staff was extremely nice and helpfulWe would definitely stay at this property again

Friendly staff Front desk, breakfast, housekeeping, and maintenance all seemed to enjoy giving us great hospitality and cared about making us feel appreciated during our stay Loudest and slowest elevator i have ever been in but it worked fine

Clean as expected at Hampton and the cleanliness in the pool area was above any i have experienced in any hotel

I was a little hesitant based off of the reviews However I really enjoyed my stay My family and I stayed four nights for a football tournament

When we got our room it was really nice and it was clean, sanitize and smelled refreshing The first night they forgot to put housekeeping for both rooms so I had to call them All the staff were really nice and very helpful My kids and I are really picky when it comes to breakfast but we all enjoy the foid They had a variety of different sides each day, and they kept the eating area really cleanThe only thing that bother me was i held the room on one credit card but when we got to the hotel I had to switch it to a different card and the Lady never informed me that there will be a hold on the first credit card but she did say that it would drop off when we checked out Sadly that was not the case my first credit card was charged again the day we checked out as well as the second credit card that was supposed be charged was also double charged at check out I called them to verify the credit card that was supposed to be charge, and they confirmed the second card They said it take 5 to 10 days for the fall off my credit card balance smh It doesn’t make sense to me because if that was a case I would’ve just kept it on the first card instead of switching it to the second card so now I have a hold on two different credit cards

Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing getaway The only downside to our stay was the loud guests, which the hotel can’t control We had the theme suite and it was lovely

We did have to ask for more shampoo, as there was only enough for one person But they kindly gave me more! The room was very nicely decorated and the view was very nice Breakfast was really good, better than most hotels This was my second stay and I would definitely go back 😊

So, it’s a hotel You want clean room, safe property, some conveniences like a microwave and mini-fridge, snacks, a bar, ample parking, you get those things What makes this place great is the people

Everyone I had to interact with was wonderful and always gave me the feeling that I was important and that what I had to say, they wanted to hear It was really nice From check, to the night shift worker giving me directions, to the guy at the bar and even the person who was taking care of my room, everyone was great This is a good place to stay by yourself, with a group or with your family I highly recommend and I will definitely make this my hotel of choice for all of my visits

Great location, clean hotel, super friendly staff, amazing room (get the king with the whirlpool tub — worth it), AND, our favorite was that they have “adult swim” from 10-11pm There was a large group of teens at the hotel during our stay and, as kids do, they were all over the pool having a good time Adult swim hour gave us the time to just … chill, as adults like to do, without the craziness of kids being kids

If you need somewhere to stay in or around Kansas City, definitely pick this one It’s just far enough away from the big city to stay safe and quiet but also close enough to enjoy what the city and surrounding areas have to offerWill definitely book here next time I’m in the area 10/10

What a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating! The rooms were smartly decorated and the ambiance was warm and comfortable Breakfast was so satisfying, very delicious! We also spent plenty of time in their open air spa tub (available to all guests) We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and romantic weekend!

Really enjoyed just hanging out here! Big comfy rooms and bed, hot tub in a screened in porch which we tried during the day and night Both were very spa like The back yard had lots of greenery and was so peaceful

Breakfast was AMAZING and Charles the owner is great Highly recommend Just need to make the water pressure better in the shower That’s my only suggestion!

I’ve only just met the owners of the Inn, but I had SUCH a fantastic time meeting with them to plan a baby shower I’m hosting at their place, I already felt comfortable giving them a five-star review!! The place is literally AMAZING, I don’t think I could find a better spot for my friends shower if I had a whole year to do it! Just a lovely couple running a lovely establishment, we CAN’T WAIT to have our shower with them!!!

What else can you expect from a Marriott property other than absolute beauty and perfection Residence Inn implies or suggests a longer term stay than what a usual hotel booking would see, and wow are these places equipped for that! The in room refrigerator is a shorter version of the full-size you have in your kitchen at home, but I would venture to say three times larger than one of those “mini fridges” you had in your college dorm room There are 2 stove top burners which are glass topped

There is a powerful microwave above the stove, a 2 basin sink along with a full size dishwasher All of the appliances are brand new or new enough to make one think they are brand new The office/dining/living room area features a high-top table and 2 tall chairs, a business area with large table top desk space, and a full size couch complete with end tables even The bedroom is a separate room with a locking door The bed is HEAVENLY, probably the best sleep I’ve had in over a decadeno_joke! The vanity is single sink where there is another door into the shower/tub and toilet areaI would absolutely recommend staying if you have the means and quality is Important I WILL be coming back

The staff, from the manager to the courtesy desk to the cleaning staff, were all amazing The hotel is clean, rooms are nice, breakfast has many options and dog park area is a great perk We had a house fire and stayed at this hotel for a few days

Only reason we changed hotels is because someone tried to steal a catalytic converter out of one of our cars The location sits back in a quiet area Even with security guard on staff they still were able to make an attempt to take the converter They damaged a flex hose, didn’t get the converter, but we felt if we returned another attempt would be made The staff, however, were just simply the best They were all friendly and helpful through the entire ordeal

We loved our experience at The Truitt Hotel! The hotel is small and feels like you are staying at your best friend’s amazingly redecorated historic home We had the honor of staying in the one bedroom suite and our jaws dropped from the first moment opening the door The decor, art and style are impeccable!! The little details such as a handwritten note, local chocolates, espresso machine and snacks made us feel warm and welcome

The outdoor sitting area is SO CUTE as are the library and neon sign in the main house! The main house rooms are just as amazing! Very spacious and stylish! The only thing that made me want to get out of the super comfy bed was the thought of getting into the AMAZING shower We felt pampered and welcomed and will be returning on trips back to KC Thank you so much for creating such a gem!

The Truitt was the perfect place for our staycation! The check-in was easy and seamless The grounds are beautiful and the main house/guest rooms are unique and inviting We really enjoyed the decor, the comfortable king bed and the nod to local KC vendors in the snack options
