Although they are updating, we were given an old room There was mold all over the bathroom – the walls, ceiling, and shower Not just a little mold, but a lot

We paid $170 for this room and really expected more Again, we know they are remolding and there were newer rooms available, but we were in this older room Looks attractive from the outside, but very dated on the inside Skip this hotel until they are fully remodeledBI HAVE ADDED PHOTOS of the mold

MSM MSM

Definitely not worth the $180 No coffee maker in the room but coffee? At that coffee in the restroom They didn’t clear alarm and had rude awakening at 4am

The restroom was dirty, and the room smelled musky Breakfast “hot” was eggs and sausage, no selection, I was not impressed Price vs place did NOT balance Will not stay again or suggest

Fast, easy check in with Yvonne This was a wonderful visit We had a king room, spacious and comfy

Comfortable bed and excellent shower Smooth checkout with Jennifer I was impressed with the hot breakfast they had available, Hannah made the order to go We were able to get our work week started with fresh coffee and a hot breakfast to get us on the road home Thank you for providing an excellent and relaxing stay!

The hotel is clean and spacious The staff is courteous and friendly The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is they typically offer free continental breakfast

It was not free The charge was $875 but the menu looked good Only coffee was offered for free anytime Also the restaurant had a very limited menu and was pricey so I opted to eat out Otherwise a great place to stay!

Emma

Great location to where we were in New Braunfels The room was a little dark and nothing fancy, but I did not mind because everything was clean! And yes, I did check the sheets! We had a ladies weekend and all of us stayed here No complaints from any of us

I would return if the occasion arose Breakfast was fresh and served hot, along side a great selection of breads and other breakfast items

Friendly and personable staff Booked room for a week, my daughters and i stayed The room was nice and clean and loved that I had a small kitchen so not to have to eat out all the time

One big disappointment was the pool being closed With it being spring break I picked this hotel specifically because of the pool and other amenities Over all it was a good experience

Matthew Parish (Mattrix)

I had a HORRIBLE experience with this “Hotel” mostly due to the parent companie’s reservation “service” Granted, my day was already on par to be one of the worst traveling for business days of my lifeDue to multiple events in town, it seemed to be near impossible to book ANY room, be it a 1 Star dive/crime scene(motel,) or what was supposed to be a 4-5 Star “Hotel

” I spent every moment from 4PM when my event was over for the day, until 11PM when I called the Hilton “Customer Service” number, trying to get into any room I could lay my head down for a few precious hours, until 8AM when I had to start the second/last day of one of the most important events financially that I’ve had so far this yearSo, I drove past one of Hilton’s Hotels, and decided to call the lobby, knowing that particular Hotel usually starts around the $250-300 range(on weekdays when they aren’t busy) So, I was prepared to hear that I was going to have to pay $3-400 minimum to stay there Well, no such luck They didn’t have any rooms and the person on the other end of the line(Hilton apparently outsources their phone rooms to somewhere in the Middle East,) proceeds to tell me that they have a room that is only 10 miles away I agree and book the room for just over $300, after agreeing that it is past time for their cancellation policy and that if I cancel, the room would still be charged to my card I asked him several times if I could hold the room with my card, but pay in cash when I arrived He insisted that would not be a problemWell, the room ended up being 45 minutes away, and when I got there, of course I couldn’t pay in cash I didn’t have $300+ on a card, and being 11PM, I couldn’t go to the drugstore and put the money on one The lady was very rude, and threatened to call the police on me when I asked to speak to the manager Unbelievable! Worst experience with a Hotel chain that I thought would never treat their members like thatI ended up staying at a Motel(not Hotel,) by the freeway that was sure to be frequented by the police on a nightly basis, for $100 Never again Hilton

Chorizo Assassin

Had multiple issues with hotel first anytime I tried to talk to someone at the front desk I had to chase someone down or wait 10 minutes for someone to come help me Also had problems trying to extend my stay at the hotel The general manager had assured me he would take care of it and call me if any issues arise

He never contacted me back after several attempts to figure out why they couldn’t extend it Just seems like customer service is not one of there main priorities and it shows in certain situations like that Definitely not gonna stay here ever again

Mr M

Got the 1 bedroom suite Kitchen had a stove, oven, microwave and full fridge The room, and entire resort was super clean

Beds were super soft, lots of pillows Very nice, enjoyed everythingMy only gripe is the staff could be a little more knowledgeable I found out from another guest that resort guest could enter the park an hour early, no staff ever mentioned this to me This is a huge deal when considering that the best rides can have over a 2 hour wait Our last day we got in the park 30 minutes early and we’re able to get in line for master blaster before the park actually opened We ended up riding all 4 of the extreme slides in the first hour and a half This knowledge would’ve made our first couple days much betterThere was also much confusion with the tram system They told me the resort tram ran every 15 minutes but it’s more like every 40 minutes I have this same complaint about the park itself, the employees only seem to know their job and their job only

Sabrina Perez

Paid for this trip a couple months in advance to spend with my family We rented a condo that was 2 bedroom, 15 baths that slept up to 8 people

It also included a full kitchen and washer/dryer We were very excited to get there but immediately disappointed upon entering the room This condo looked like a wreck There was a hole in the half bath door, patches of holes that had been covered up on the walls but not painted Furniture was very old, scratched up, and dirty The dressers upstairs had missing knobs that were broken off The half bath toilet was clogged and we couldn’t use it and the upstairs sink was clogged so it was disgusting after we brushed our teeth The dishware and “pots/pans” that were available were useless and cheap The fridge had dents covering the outside and the inside shelves on the door were broken or severely bent to where it wouldn’t hold any condiments The fridge was set to cold and froze our juice and milk but the knob was missing so we couldn’t adjust it We had 2 vehicles that we were able to park in front of our room on the first night but when we left to go get ice, someone parked there and we had to park on the other side near other condos The issue with that was the vehicles parked in front of our room did not have resort guest tags but when we called the office, no one was available to answer the phone and assist They office is only available from 9-5pm We purchased season passes and the ONLY advantage to being at the resort was walking over to the park We didn’t have early access before general admission We had access after hours but only to 2 pools that were 3-4 feet each at the swim up bars but the bar was not open, there were no attendants, and no music Save your money, stay at a nice hotel and just drive to the park daily I would not stay at this “resort” ever again So not worth the money we paid for this condo

Michelle Conkin

We stayed for our little man’s 9th birthday recently, and we had a great time! The only change we did not like was the one hr early entrance, and the one hr later park play has not been put back in place since new ownership I know they’re working a lot though in the park, and appreciate all the hands that are helping keep this beautiful park open! Service is always great!! Highly recommend season pass 😎

Basic, at best Can’t turn you AC Down, they can’t provide you a fan, can’t swim, can’t smoke outside

I spent 1500 on this trip and the guy keeps saying “Cooperate Policy” the guy is nice enough, and room are clean if a little older I just feel like you should get a little special treatment if you book a full week I mean, I’m basically living here this week

Tracy Keene

Over all this was the best hotel besides the actual Marriott with a better price tag No surprise its by the themService was excellent all around and very well kept & clean

The king bed was a pillow top & so comfortable My only complaint, is why I gave 4 stars is the breakfast was less then desirable, I’ve had way better at a rinky dink hotel It was as good as it was made out to be especially our 2nd day Also, the web site embellishes a little bit it states it has an indoor & outdoor pool least through price line it did Nope only an outdoor pool but it was ice cold, I can’t complain to much most of the hotels I looked at said their pool didn’t even open until May, including them Its a beautiful little oasis & enjoyed just relaxing listening to the water fallHow ever keep an eye on your incidentals charge mine tooks weeks to come back and many calls fighting for my deposit back

I can’t say anything about the hotel side of this place, we live locally so we have no reason to stay here We used to love coming for the restaurant and craft beer I’m not sure when the menu changed, but everything we were returning to enjoy was no longer available

What was on the menu was not enticing And the three meals we ordered were not worth the price For lack of better options, I got the club I’m no connoisseur of club sandwiches, just an average diner, and that was the worst club I’ve had Possibly the worse sandwich I’ve ordered from a restaurant My husband did not like his burger, and none of us were terribly thrilled with the “adult” Mac for my daughter We’re very disappointed This restaurant went from being on point with their menu, to a place we will not be returning to My only positive outcome is the service was mostly good My only negative review there was that my husband had to go retrieve a high chair for my daughter when I think it was obvious it was necessary, she’s not even a year and a half old yet And, let me also not that the server had already briefly visited our table 3 time before my husband just went to find one I was trying to get her settled so I kept forgetting to ask for one

Sharon Jackson

Have been staying here for over 35 years, whenever we visit NB Enjoyed our recent 2-night, 2 room stay Rooms were comfy, including the beds, pillows & linens

Staff was super friendly & helpful (in the Pub, also) Historic Hotel that is super well located w/easy parking & an on-site Pub Yes it’s age shows here & there, but it’s charm makes up for it

Passionate Gardener

Location and history was the winner here It is old school, we could hear almost every word from our next door guest, it was unusual and uncomfortable Food and service at the restaurant was a 2 star

The staff was congregated together most of the time during our dinner and were very loud We arrived at 5 pm and had a Chardonnay and Greek salad/ both were a 2 star and hubs had chicken fried steak and dark beer 3 star

My husband and I stayed at in Sophie’s Gasthaus this weekend in the Hayloft suite We truly did not want to leave!!! The entire property is just breathtaking and so incredibly relaxing The main house is decorated so beautifully with such classy decor

Every detail is is tended to, including the light switches Even though we did not stay in the main house, we enjoyed the continental breakfast and coffee there one morning and met some great people in the living areaThe suite is over the carriage house and has a full kitchen, bathroom, living, bedroom and dining area, and its own fireplace The walls and ceiling are painted a deep dark color which is why I think it was so relaxing, just minimal stimulation!!The bed I’m very particular about beds and pillows when I stay places in this one was probably one of the best! Multiple options for pillows so if you want it soft or more firm, they’ve got you covered The bed itself was very comfortable and the down duvet was so incredibly cozy on the very cold nights that we stayed!! It was heavenly!!!The kitchen had all that we would need and we made breakfast our second morning there There’s a large dining space on the front patio that is private to the Hayloft, it was too cold for us on our stay, but look forward to it next timeThe bathtub was a huge soaking tub, and the bathroom was just as aesthetically pleasing as everything else I’m so glad they even thought about a soft closing lid for the toiletThe grounds were very well manicured and can’t wait to use the pool and hot tub one of warms up Downstairs in the carriage house is a huge game room that my kids are going to love so much when we bring them along in the future It’s open for all guests, not unique to the HayloftI had no clue that New Braunfels had such a special downtown, lots of great restaurants and close to so many things We visited Gruene one afternoon, which was only about a seven minute drive away We had lunch at Cooper’s barbecue and it was incredible Not a big pork chop person, but their pork chop was probably the best I’ve ever had and it was so incredibly tender and juicy We saved it for our breakfast tacos the next day! Kelly, Sophie’s Gasthaus estate manager, recommended McAdoo’s for our special celebratory dinner It did not disappoint either!!Can’t wait for our next visit to Sophie’s – considering getting a group of friends together to book the entire place!!

I stayed twice, two weeks each stay, to recuperate after 2 hip replacements My original plan to stay with friends became unavailable Staying at Kuebler Waldrip’s B&B turned out to be the perfect option, better than any rehab option, staying with friends or being at home for recovery

The staff and owners made everything easy and friendly; breakfasts were delicious with a menu selection they adjusted to my preferences, they brought me breakfast to my room when I wasn’t mobile enough to go out to breakfast I enjoyed knitting in the common areas during my recovery, chatting with the owners, guests and staff, and looking out through a wall of picture windows to a view over the grounds of enchanting wildlife and gardens The entire homestead was charming with the modern upgrades that made my stay completely comfortable I am fully recovered and glad for my amazing good fortune to find this lovely accommodating bed and breakfast homestead

Audrey Kuebodeaux

I can’t express how comfortable I was made to feel while here The cook made a lovely breakfast the first day and Darrell cooked us an awesome breakfast the second, and we so enjoyed talking with him and Margaret at the table We had privacy if wanted, in a beautiful home on a lovely ranch, filled with wildlife

My new home away from home Thank you for being so welcoming and giving us a relaxing stay

M B

Superb service, excellent room that felt like home, and a great breakfast The folks at Kuebler Waldrip Haus certainly have a great way of welcoming their guests We live in the Hill Country and can attest that the KWH captures the charm of the Texas Hill Country

An extra bonus was the the owner’s mother has connections with some of the same people my in-laws know from the 50’s/60’s so we had a great time talking

We stayed here a few years ago and the property was exactly the same – clean, comfortable, but definitely showing it’s age and needing some updates and a refresh We didn’t have breakfast or use the pool so can’t comment on those Ample parking

Had to ask for water bottles and a snack as Diamond members – they weren’t offered and were handed over with a bit of reluctance Check out is noon – we had housekeeping walk into our room once at 9:30 and again at 10:30 They knocked first but didn’t give even 2 seconds to call out of walk to the door before they opened it Would stay again if the price is low enough

Chris Mospaw

Room layout is weird with the bed at 90 degrees to what you would expect That would be fine except that it creates a VERY narrow path on the side of the bed I bumped the wall getting out

The room was worn and tired and in need of renovation I’m surprised Hilton allows one of their brands on this placeTub was nasty and had a weird little shelf about 8 inches from the floor that was mildewy Fire alarm went off at 5:17am One loud beep and then nothing No explanation or apologyThe on duty manager got the owner on the phone when I complained and the owner was very short, irritated and not interested in helping much Staff was friendly and listened, but despite being offered and allegedly given a $100 discount for the nasty room, it never appeared on my cardI normally heartily recommend Hampton Inn locations as a decent mid-tier place to stay I cannot recommend this location

I stayed here this weekend on a work trip, and while I was not expecting the nicest hotel, I was certainly expecting more than I gotMy room was very dirty The sheets were clean, so I know housekeeping was in there, but nothing was wiped down and I could see food residue on the nightstand and the surface below the tv

Additionally, the floors were quite obviously not swept It does look like a remodel happened, and as others mentioned before, it just looks like poor-quality work was done Uneven and upside down light switches, paint over appliances, and there was a bug stuck in the caulking in the showerI would not recommend this hotel to anyone

Bill Pennington

Couldn’t believe the conditions of the room First, upon checking in and going to the 4th floor, it was blazing hot up there When I got to the room the first thing I noticed was clear packing tape serving some kind of patch job on the floor

Then, upon looking at all the mismatched baseboards and horrible tile work we began looking at the shoddy drywall work and imperfections Upon getting a shower, my wife and I discovered that while walking around in the room barefoot, our feet made the tub black We found a prescription med pill on the floor along with a Bobby pin The trash cans had no liners and there was no Kleenex dispenser The A/C and ice machine worked good This is the worst Holiday Inn room I’ve ever stayed in, it also had a musky odor This is surprising because the property looks fairly new The staff was friendly In addition, the bed had a starboard lean

This Courtyard is TOP NOTCH! One of the best we’ve stayed in, so close and convenient to so many wonderful attractions Clean, welcoming and a wonderful cafe and coffee shop that gets it right Everyone that worked there was amazing and Brandy really stood out with her kind demeanor, stress free multitasking abilities, wonderful customer service and overall nice vibes

Every evening, she had a line almost out the door or people checking in, requests and questions from visitors She handled them kindly and set great expectations We’ve stayed at many hotels and I’ve never felt more welcome or valued as a guest here The customer service blew us away! Highly recommend

Ryan Hartley
