Had an AMAZING stay over Labor Day weekend at the McCaffrey House B&B! The host Stephanie was exceptional She provided suggestions and made us feel right at home The view from the evergreen room was absolutely breathtaking and the bed was very comfortable

Breakfast was delicious and wish we had tried the dinner prepared by Chef Joshit smelled fabulous! Thanks again we will be back!

Wolfram Arnold

I stayed here with my 6-year-old the night before a ski day at Dodge Ridge We had the most wonderful time at McCaffrey B&B Stephanie, the owner, welcomed us warmly, and their dinner service (a new service during the pandemic) was out of this world, a 3-course restaurant-style meal! If you’re going skiing in Dodge Ridge, then the McCaffrey House is the perfect one-stop-shop location

Spacious rooms with comfortable beds complete the picture Highly recommended

Aaron Brown

We stayed 3 nights at this gorgeous little inn The host, Stephanie was great, the other host Ollie, was great too He greeted us the door with his tall wagging, happy to see new people

The common area is great with lots of little trinkets and knick knacks, local wines, cheese and crackers Ollie was there too, had to find his toy, threw that around for a while We stayed in the Evergreen room, it was great, private with good views, private patio The breakfast had the good home made feel and was acceptable for the atmosphere and location Stephanie recommended a few local restaurants which did not disappoint We’re had a couple’s massage by a few local gals best massages we have ever had We will be staying here again

We had our Wedding at the Dunbar House on 10/09/21 It is the cutest Bed and Breakfast! Lisa and Jim were so accommodating and made sure everything worked out! Jim cooked a wonderful breakfast both mornings and made sure we were taken care of! Even on the day of the wedding he especially made sure the kids were taken care of with kid friends food! Because it was a bed and breakfast, we were able to have our bridal party book every room at the Dunbar House making the whole house available to us without disrupting other guests The house was perfect as our venue and gave it that “backyard” wedding type feel

We are definitely planning on returning to the Dunbar House again to just stay there (maybe on our anniversary) 😊

It’s an old historic building, with everything that comes with that

smaller rooms, smaller bathroom facilities Not much space for toiletry bags in the bathroom Steep stairs (but there is an elevator); I would not recommend this place for anyone with mobility issuesThat being said, the room was cozy and quiet, the air conditioning worked VERY well, and the bed was quite comfortable Front desk staff was helpful and efficient The pool was refreshing (pool towels at the front desk), but could use a few more chairs around Breakfast (included) was pretty basic, similar to many free hotel breakasts (waffle maker, cereal, bagels, boiled eggs) All-in-all, a good value and a comfortable stay

Betsabe Usher

45 StarsThe only reason why I didn’t give it a full 5 stars, is because of a few things Now, it has a beautifully remodeled lobby and the stuff are super helpful and attentive

It is pet friendly which is a huge deal when you have fur babies Right at the heart of historic downtown which is adorable and plenty to explore Now, their bathrooms are way too small and I’m not a particularly tall person but my husband is, and it was uncomfortable for me and even more so for him And then there’s the supernatural side of this hotel I found out of it’s reputation after I had booked the hotel, had I known this before hand I wouldn’t had stayed there, it’s not my jam and thankfully I didn’t see anything but there’s definitely a creepy vibe once you are in their hallways I did wondered why it was on the more affordable price with a limited time window for cancelations Might be another thing to considerSo, if you’re not bothered by any of these small (kinda) things, I’m sure you’ll love it and would want to return I probably wont🤷🏻‍♀️

Robin Aigner

We really wanted to like this historic hotel, but honestly it took three rooms to find one that wasn’t so dirty we felt like we couldn’t sleep in it The linens were stained, the mattress cover was stained, there were unvacuumed swaths of carpet, spilled-coffee stains on the wall by the bed, human hairs in the bathtub and sink Front-desk staff was very helpful and accommodating, but the cleaning services are def not being supervised by someone who cares

Would definitely eat here again The patio dining was nice and they brought us a bowl of water for our dog Salad wasn’t very impressive but the rest more than made up for it- pasta was delicious, and the main attraction was the flambeed dessert we ordered

They prepared it right there in front of us, which was a lovely bit of post-lunch entertainment!

Gary Thacker

The National Hotel is a California landmark When you stay here you’re staying in one of the 10 oldest buildings you can stay in California It is a magical place

The only way to truly experience it is through the employees, who know many anecdotes on the history of the place Have a wonderful dinner prepared by Chef Robin and finish with an extraordinary flambe dessert Then pull up to one of the coolest bars on the West Coast and have Rhonda make you an extraordinary cocktail It will knock your socks off Mary, Heather, Candy, Ashley, Cindy and a few others whose names I am forgetting provide the magic that really make this place Come visit, let them take you back to a kinder simpler time Sit on the balcony, listen to the quite It is the perfect bolt-hole when you need a moment away from the world

Michele Clemens

What a wonderful place to stay! Everyone was very nice We ate dinner there also and it was deliciousThey provided a doggie basket for our pet with dishes, towel, blanket and treats

I would recommend this to anyone who lives history or just a nice place to stay

Mixed bag: good size room, nice firm mattress, clean, smelled fine Desk chair was oddly shaped and uncomfortable Had to use a pillow to make it even usable

Biggest problem was that they shut down their office early and have no one to check in late arrivals I usually don’t check in before 11pm They called me on the road at 8pm and said they were closing their office at 9pm So I had to cut my business short and head straight there Hopefully this is a temporary situation, but either way it should be disclosed in the Wyndham app so guests can plan accordingly

The hotel is well situated in Angels Camp; easy to see from the road and get to It’s also located close to food and grocery stores in Angels Camp, making it a convenient place to stayThe exterior of the hotel is clearly showing its age in many areas, but not so much as to be majorly off-putting

Unfortunately the front desk staff was not very friendly or welcoming They were very abrupt with check-in, and were obviously annoyed when I asked if we could get a second key for the room They also didn’t tell us where our room was located, so we had to find it on our own Luckily the cleaning staff were making their rounds and were very helpful and showed us where the room was located Upon unpacking in our room, we were pleased to see the room was moderately nice, and well cleaned At one point during our stay I forgot my room key in the room, and again the cleaning staff were helpful and able to let me in A+ for the cleaning staff! The room was very good for the price, with a fairly comfortable king size bed, a nice clean shower, and a good mini fridge for our snacks and drinks The linens and towels were not surprisingly pretty thin and cheap, but were all clean and more than adequate for our stayUnfortunately we had very loud neighbors who were yelling at each other late into the night Not the hotel’s fault, but it definitely dampened the enjoyment our stayOverall a great place to stay if passing through Angels Camp, and would have been 5 stars if not for the neighbors and unfriendly desk staff

Staying at this B&B was by far the best of the best and most Incredible ever experienced in my 67 years! We got there late at night, and Megan was genuine, kind, patient and sweet and got us all settled quickly 🙂 Just stepping into this beautiful mansion was immediately like stepping back in time, and the furnishings and atmosphere were simply perfect from floor to ceiling in every room The breakfasts were personalized to our requests, (Vegan and vegetarian), and the special time and effort that was exhibited by Rhonda and Megan was unparalleled, and the gourmet food, it’s presentation, and the service were at least a 20/10 for sure!!! The history of the Inn is amazing and it is quite evident that Rhonda and her husband and Megan genuinely love what they do😊 We simply cannot wait to go back because the experience was truly once in a lifetime quality from start to finish! We loved the cats and the dogs as well! And most credible ever experience

Another incredible visit!! We’ve stayed at the Inn on Knowles Hill in the past and were blown away by the amazing service, INCREDIBLE food, and beauty of the architecture, grounds, and decor This time, we were planning a family reunion and realized Knowles Hill would be the perfect place for our family to join together and connect after being apart for a few years Rhonda, Fred, and Megan expertly handled our large party of 20 (!!!) and absolutely went above and beyond to ensure that we had another unforgettable stay

My husband and I slept in the downstairs Wallace Beery room (gorgeous!) and enjoyed three incredible breakfasts and one off-the-charts gourmet dinner I can’t recommend this beautiful place enough–you seriously HAVE to go and experience it for yourself!!

We stayed here in order to visit Yosemite, as we wanted a nice refuge to come back to after a hard day’s hiking and Lazy Z definitely delivered! Gorgeous grounds, with interesting history (and a museum of sorts in their club house) The swimming area was beautifully crafted and felt like a little oasis Beds were comfortable and spacious rooms, we even had a little balcony put the back which was great for bird watching

Only downside was there wasn’t enough cutlery for us both in the kitchen but everything else was spot on! Will definitely be returning

Our room was exceptionally clean, our welcome was a warm one, and their homemade breakfast was icing on the cake! Even the wifi and water pressure were superbI highly recommend staying here Couldn’t be better!

Stayed here as part of our honeymoon road trip The hosts were so welcoming, breakfast was made to order and a time of our choosing We ate in an amazing Mexican in town, had a beer in the saloon, then back to the Inn to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down

I forgot how nice a family run b&b feels compared to a sterile check-yourself-in Airbnb Would highly recommend!!

There was a brown substance streaked on one of the shampoo bottles I don’t even want to speculate about what that may have been…The (hardwired) smoke detector was just hanging off the wall Dangerous as it may not have worked and the 110V wiring was exposedThe hairdryers didn’t work and fell off the wall when we tried to use itThe room was generally just not very cleanThese things were not the worst The cleaner came in and started making up the room while I was in the bathroom My friends outside told her that I was still in the room, and I asked her to leave through the door She said “it’s fine” and ignored me asking her to leave Why would you enter a room that’s still occupied?

The rooms were cheap in price and decent in quality I didn’t see anything that worried me too much For example I saw a few stains on the walls but the beds and the bathroom were pretty dang clean

I enjoyed my stay overall I never go in pools at hotels but the one at this inn looked decent and they’re always a pleasure to have the option to go in The only real complaint I had was not entirely the inn’s fault, but it had to be the location I’m currently traveling and so I had to walk to downtown Sonora and it was quite a ways away It’s also noteworthy there’s not much sidewalk on the way But that’s all It’s a decent inn and it was worth the stay overall

We have a gathering of friends and family here every couple years We’re a relatively large motorcycle club which of course means there are many expensive motorcycles and vehicles and there’s never been an issue of damage or theft Parking has been plentiful , well lit and secure

The pool is clean and we’ll maintained Staff is friendly and top notch They are pro active and address every concern and request as if it was their very ownI recommend Aladdin Inn to all travelers Single / group car or Bikes Your safety and we’ll being is priority They have no problem requesting emergency services if neccessaryor requested by guest like some places do There was a serious heat related emergency and Fire /EMT arrived promptly the staff was fantastic about putting the guests health and safety first 911 services are close by if there’s a need for themThe price is right and everything you need is close by We will be back
