As far as location, it really can’t be beat It’s a true ski in/out property with the Heavenly gondola and Heavenly Village (shops/restaurants) right outside the door But that’s a bit of a negative as well, our room was facing the square and it got pretty loud at night, wish we had know and would have requested one facing the other way
We had a 1 bedroom that was very comfortable and had a full kitchen Be aware that it is only valet parking ($32 per night) and request your car early than you need it as they are short staffed One more thing, the pool is much smaller than the hotel photos suggest, that was a disappointment Overall, it was a very nice and comfortable stay and the staff was friendly

This is my family’s second stay at Timber Lodge in the last 6 years Both stays were awesome, and the staff and accommodations are excellent The proximity to everything is worth the stay alone, but the rooms, staff, and amenities are top notch
I enjoyed the fitness center both days we stayed and appreciated the selection of fitness equipment, as well as weights The facilities are very clean, the staff is friendly from the front desk to the maintenance employees you encounter while visiting I would definitely recommend Timber Lodge to families or couples on a getaway
Mike Edwards
We love staying at this resort The only problem they have is check in, check out , and parking The resort actually lost our car at the valet and it took them almost an hour to find it
During check in the lobby is packed with carts and people waiting for their rooms to be ready Just outside the lobby doors is total chaos with people waiting for luggage carts and cars everywhere Once you are checked in and get to your room everything is great I know this is partly because of Covid, but it wasn’t much better before With all this being said we will definitely be back

We loved our stay here! Cozy room with a fireplace and a lake view It is right next to the beach and the outdoor fire pit was a great touch It is not a luxury hotel, but it was perfect to come back to after skiing all day
The rooms were clean and overall a quiet and relaxing spot Can’t beat the price and location! We will definitely be back!
Janine K
We stayed here two nights (one full day) as a relaxbreak on our round trip in West USA Although the rooms are nice and the lake is fantastic, don’t expect too much relaxing On the first night there was a wedding party which the whole resort could enjoy, whether you wanted or not
The place is more like a camping site than a resort experience I give three stars for the view and the nice welcoming, but besides that the price you pay is far too much for what you get I have seen better options in Lake Tahoe
Sarah stockdale
Probably the best stay we’ve had in a hotel in awhile Traveling on a cross country road trip and stopped here Rooms are a good size with cute and simple decor
The front desk and staff were lovely For us, we feel they went above and beyondWe had a lake view and it couldn’t have been a more wonderful stay We were only going to stay one night but loved it so much we stayed two Would definitely recommend and will for sure be back in the future

Great location in South Tahoe Love the courtyard with BBQs for cooking each night Private beach is wonderful for paddle boarding and relaxing
Rooms are nice and spacious Requested a hot plate since they don’t have stoves and it was greatVery hard to get a room that you requested and rooms really need air conditioning in hot summer months or at least units in the bedrooms Our last two nights we couldn’t sleep due to being so hot and because we were in the main lobby building we couldn’t keep the windows open because traffic is so loud Definitely try to stay in a different building next time
Parker Shannon
This was the perfect spot for us We could walk to dining and shopping The beach is very nice
We planned our to trip to be between the ski and summer seasons and it worked out just right Not crowded We were able to get in a lot of hiking, as the Emerald Bay area is 20 mins or so away There is plenty of eating within walking distance
Mark
Interior of room was very clean and had recent upgrades The hotel’s private beach on Lake Tahoe, with a charming out door fire pit , were charmingMy room was on the ground floor staring at another building like ten feet away
So I kept the draperies shut the entire time No view of the lake or even trees was very sad The hotel has two hot tubs and neither had working jets The sauna, fitness room and laundry were also out of serve

Matt Bryson
The front desk staff was very kind, but the cleaning staff knocked on all the doors (including ours) over an hour before checkout (around 9:30am) I understand the need to clean the rooms after a long weekend, but I could also hear the radio from the front desk telling them who had checked out Additionally, the walls are incredibly thin, so you’ll be able to to hear your neighbors with ease, as well as some road noise
Finally, the thermostat doesn’t seem to control the temperature, so it was very warm the entire trip (despite trying to turn it down to the lowest setting, and off entirely) Overall, not a bad hotel, but not a top pick for future stays
Trevor & Justine Colton
My husband and I stayed overnight for our first getaway since having Baby We were so excited to find a place SO close to the water and all our favorite conveniences at such an affordable price Our room had a queen sized bed with a balcony (not lake view) and we were very happy with it
The lighting, toiletries, bathroom, curtains…all very cozy and welcoming So happy to have gotten to stay, we look forward to coming again for a few more nights and a chance to use the pool and spa
Shad McCarthy
Great location and the front desk staff where amazing Building is old, but the rooms where updated and location in South Lake Tahoe was great Was given a room with a partial view and it was actually a really great view from the balcony on the 3rd floor – room 312
It’s right off the main road and there is a lot of traffic noise but once you’re inside and close the balcony slider door you don’t hear the traffic Would definitely consider staying here again in the future

This is by far one of the worst experiences I have ever gone through I paid a discounted rate on a guess what hotel your getting site For under $100 bucks I got this place
It was rated three stars and close to town so I said what can go wrong? This was the first trip for my son and me since COVID As soon as we got in the room the room was hot It was a type of save energy system where you put your card to activate Room 219 Well it never got cooler than 82 degrees I called the front desk the first night and no answer So I walked downstairs and told the receptionist the AC was not working She answered me, “My system shows me it’s working!” But I’ll send a tech He came up fiddled with the thermostat for about thirty minutes He said I’m done it works now Guess what? That was a lie It didn’t Two night later and three calls to get it fixed later, we left one day Early The lady the receptionist desk tried to act like she didn’t know anything about it I was nice the whole time She offer d me a return of my resort fee and the last night of refund I haven’t seen that refund yet and it’s been a week
Nishank Chandawala
Stayed in a two bedroom suite which was two connected one bedroom suites Liked that since that gave us extra privacy The resort was clean and had good amenities like pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna
Valet parking only which is included in resort fee Reasonable prices Only con for summer visitors is that the location is 2 miles from restaurants and casinos Location is still nice and peaceful It turns into a pro for winter visitors since heavenly ski lift is right across the resort
Nick Parks
Stayed here for 2 days with my gf, and it was perfect Friendly staff, huge quiet rooms, lots to do Our room had an enormous bath you could walk into, a fireplace, a living room, and a great view of the mountains
Parking is by valet only, so bring what you need from the car so you’re not constantly looking for things The resort has the standard pool / hot tub / fitness center, but one thing that was cool was the roof top BBQ area and tennis courts Additionally, there is a complimentary washer and dryer that we used I greatly enjoyed this as I hate using the quarter-operated machines Overall great stay and highly recommended!

MRS. ANDY
This hotel was convenient and clean The room is spacious it did have some amenities like shampoo and conditioner and a refrigerator Keurig machine things like that, however I did take a star away because the AC was a little bit confusing
and semi didn’t work There was a thermostat for the room AC which did not work at all but then there was a smaller window AC that barely produced enough cold air to chill the room The room was pretty stuffy and warm when we first got there It took all day for the little AC to try and cool the room down Also our room was a king size bed with a jetted tub in the room and a pull-out couch Now in order to get this room we can only have two guests in it so we were confused why there would be a pull out couch in there If only two people can stay in the room so we pulled out the bed in the couch and it was dirty and broken to where you couldn’t even use it anyways and it wouldn’t go back in I did tell the friend desk about the pullout they were going to put in a maintenance orderHowever the site of the hotel was perfect as is described in there website the breakfast was amazing actually had everything from yogurt cereal bagels muffins sausage eggs biscuits and gravy pancakes on the weekend juice coffee hot cocoa all very clean and tasted great The staff was very polite during check-in and check out I have really great pictures to post but for some reason it won’t let me post them

This hotel had all the amenities needed for a first time trip to south Lake tahoe Complimentary breakfast had a variety of foods to choose from The staff kept the area stocked and clean-leave them a tip!
They are located across from a convenient store and up to a 10 min walk to casinos and pubs No fee for parking Pool was clean and open dawn to dusk Bears do roam the parking lot in the evening looking for food They didn’t bother us-they just want food Great price and the rooms were roomy and clean
Shelly Swope
Positive things first…Good breakfast buffetPretty locationCentrally locatedNegative things…Stayed 3 nights Never cleaned the room even after telling them our room didn’t get cleaned They only dropped off towels
Air conditioner loud was so loud I had a hard time sleeping Cycled on and off what seemed like every 5 minutesTV stopped working halfway they stay Staff said they called for service but didn’t know when it would be fixed

This hotel exceeded all our expectations The location was close to the gondola, amazing shops and restaurants Rooms were well stocked with linens and toiletries
Came with a full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, full size refrigerator and all items that you need to cook and enjoy your meal Our room had 2 full bathrooms one equipped with a large jet sauna tub, fireplace in bedroom as well as a balcony to enjoy amazing views with your morning coffeeThere is also a pull out bed/couch and fireplace in front room and kitchen table/chairs in a nook The beds were luxuriously comfortableWe will definitely be back
Yuvashree Sundeep
Amazing location , we hardly needed our car to go out and about ! EV charging with valet was a huge plus Also there’s so much to do under a mile with kids – gondola rides , miniature golf , beach , cafes and ice cream shop ( you name it and it’s there !) Our room was on the lower level and it was a bit noisy , otherwise we had a very pleasant stay and will be back sometime soon !
Elizabeth Wilson
We stayed in 2 bedroom unit for a weekend and were thoroughly disappointed The property is dated and tired Our room was large so no complaints there
The property had basically no amenities Concierge desk was closed the entire time Probably “due to covid” but unsure Proximity to the heavenly gondola cannot be beat It is literally an arms reach away Definitely very convenient!Unfortunately our check out experience was so awful I would will never return to the property and strongly urge anyone considering this property to stay elsewhere We called the front desk to inquire about the check out time and the possibility of getting late check out What ensued was hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever had I’m a Marriott platinum member and I stay at marriotts all over the world on a monthly basis I also stay at non Marriott hotels I generally have great experiences at marriott properties which is why I’m very loyal to the brand My experience with the front desk employee Donna was unbelievable We nicely asked about late check out and she was so condescending and hostile (she didn’t even great us when she picked up the phone, she just said “hello? What?”—we thought we misdialed and got a random room by mistake)Donna said we can’t have late check out because guests are already waiting in the lobby for our room (this was around 9am) and we need to vacate immediately for these guests Not sure who these guests were but Donna did an excellent job of making us feel like worthless second class guests After we hung up with Donna, housekeeping knocked on our door twice, an engineer came up twice to “fix the phone” which he determined was fully functional and not in need of repair, and Donna called our room about 4 times and proceeded to hang up when we would answer It was blatantly obvious Donna had orchestrated this ambush on us in an effort to hurry us out of the room Completely unprofessional and frankly abusive conduct from Donna The engineer who was sent actually apologized for repeatedly distributing us and said he knows it’s ridiculous and “it’s political” He was really nice Didn’t get his name unfortunatelyHours after we had left the hotel I received several calls and voicemails from other employees who wanted to know when we’d be out of the room I told them we left hours ago and the gentleman (Tyler I think) basically apologized for calling and said he was asked to call (obviously by Donna) Donna went to great lengths to simply harass us It was outrageous I can’t imagine what it’s like for the employees who have to work with Donna and are subjected to her abuse and hostility daily She is sinking the ship and she’s a terrible representation of not only this property but of Marriott in generalThere is absolutely no customer service at this establishment If you’re looking for an enjoyable, relaxing and hospitable stay this is NOT the place AVOID AVOID AVOID Marriott Grand Residence Club Lake Tahoe

Clean, comfortable and centrally located We had a double queen with tables and chairs and the size was adequate with a spacious bathroom I like the historic wall photos and the wall hooks to hang your extra coats besides the little closet
The shower floor though has no division from the rest of the bathroom floorThe bed and pillows were comfortable yet you could here dinha floor noise from upstairs so I didn’t get a good night sleep No breakfast but coffee is provided and McDonald’s is across the street The beach is also walkable from the hotel
Eduardo Tello
Big rooms, big showers with bathtubs and double shower heads Worth the stay when in Tahoe Location is good on the California side
AC is a bit too noisy TV uses old Spectrum system with no guide so you have to browse to check what’s playing – wish they had a more modern solution with Netflix or some type of casting so people can use their phones to cast
Gweneth Tambe
I stopped to inquire about the place In 1999 it was the only place that had a room come available for us on our wedding night Back then it was the Fantacy Inn
It became the Postmarc in 2014 The desk clerk was very nice & helpfully in providing all the answers to my questions Everything that I saw looked very nice & well maintained

We stayed for about a week The room was clean and loved they had a laundry room I was able to utilize The mattress was a bit firmer then most beds but not too uncomfortable
We had a great experience viewing a bear walking by from our Balcony They do warn bears are all aroundI found there location to be a bug Pro as well as a Con Pro because it is walking distance from many restaurants and the beach The public beach charges about $25 a person Staying at the 3 peaks, they provide a coupon for every day you stay and you will pay just $5 per person The con comes when leaving the motel The exit of the motel meets a rounding street corner There were several times we would check both sides, start to drive and a vehicle coming from the curve would come rushing by We would have to abruptly halt in the middle of the rd Even if your staring at the corner as you pull out, if a car is coming fast enough, it can be dangerous
Jeff Lamarr
I got the one bedroom suite Only had a couple issues One being the adjoining room where their lights shine through into the hallway in my room
I think it’s because two rooms can be joined together as a two bedroom suite but unfortunately I could see their light all night not to mention their noise The other was every time they would go out of the porch the motion sensor light would go on and shine the light into my bedroom while I was trying to sleep It felt a bit uncomfortable and knowing that it seemed like somebody can just walk through the other door into my place You can also hear the upstairs people taking showers because it was so loud the water running through the pipes I also had to call maintenance the first morning because I couldn’t get the shower water to turn off Otherwise definitely a cool little relaxing place to say with a full kitchenette some of the units Mine had one, also came with a fireplace
Bri L
Overall, 35/5 stars from me We worked from here one full week mid August
Here are my top takeawaysThe headboards are metal bars and we kept hitting our heads when we went to lie downShower pressure is fantastic and the water gets so nice and hot The rooms are overall quiet and we never heard neighbors next to us, although we did hear foot steps above us The AC was strong The area is walkable and the pool was nice also They don’t provide pool towels that we saw There is coffee in the lobby certain hours in the morning and a microwave and toasterThe cleaning crew is very on top of it and accommodating if you ask for anythingThe lobby staff was very unresponsive: one night we saw the trash in the side yard had been gone through like a bear or raccoon, and we called to report it and nobody answered the 4 times we called We asked for a coffee mug because we were there a week but because we booked a basic king room and not a 2BR with kitchen, they wouldn’t give us one It felt wasteful to use their styrofoam disposable cups daily It’s the little things Another time my husband went to ask a question in the lobby and while he was printing something, nobody else there, the phone rang and the lobby staff answered, put them on hold, and carried on their lunch conversation and didn’t pick back upTo do laundry, bring your own quarters because the front desk won’t give you changeOn a side note, Thai on Ski Run was one of the best restaurants we had in Tahoe (takeout both times) Food in Tahoe is really pricey and everything felt like a “just miss” We also loved Sugar Point Beach for a day trip – pack a picnic from Smart and Final or something fun!

We stayed there over the new year holiday and had a wonderful time Staci at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay extra welcoming and special The design and vibe of the inn was super cute – their branded amenities and cool decor in the room gave it that extra touch
At night they turned the fireplace on and had hot coco waiting for the guest The lobby was cozy and a great place to chill We were walking distance to the slopes and to the lake Highly recommend this place – thanks again Staci for being so great!

We decided to try out this Hotel because it’s pet friendly, and is close to the lake and various dining options and casinos Rooms here are clean and smell good, not musty The beds were exceptionally comfortable! Great grounds for walking the dog
The surroundings are quiet during the week, we were there on Monday and Tuesday Pool was closed (seasonal), the restaurant didn’t open til 9am and we checked out before then so have no information on that AC was on and off all night with no way to adjust it or turn it off That’s my only complaint
Cynthia Beltran
Came here for 2 nights and overall it was a nice place to stay We had our dogs with us, so they gave us a spacious room on ground level They offered us a complimentary beverage when we checked in which is always nice
They have a restaurant next to it that seems to be very popular They didn’t have access to the lake at this time but the lake wasn’t too far from here They have decent size parking lot and the rooms are cozy and spacious

This place is awesome My family & I stayed in the room with a kitchen that had a view of the lake It was incredible
The kitchen is stocked with things to prepare or eat meals The bed and pillows were so comfortable The view was breath taking We will always come here It really couldn’t have been better The only thing is I hope the light bulbs are changed to be a little brighter Besides that it was the best stay

Worth all 5 stars! Run, don’t walk to this hotel! And DO NOT be fooled or scared by the front of this hotel like I initially was when I arrived It is awesome inside! The most attentive and welcoming staff, CLEAN, and the coziest rooms and beds with amazing lake front access They mean it when they say that EVERY room has lake views and YES the fireplace in the rooms work! (all the reviews saying it didn’t worried me but this was not an issue for us at all!) I’m sad that we only stayed here one night
I will be back!

Everything was high class and super nice We had a room with a kitchenette and a living room with a large bathroom that had a large shower, and separate bath The staff was super nice, and someone must have given them extra customer service lessons to make everyone feel like royalty
Only complaint would be the parking is off-site for non-owners and the TV has limited channels/movies availableThe on-site restaurant was excellent, had a $50 steak that was worth $50, and for once someone cooked brussel sprouts that were excellentLastly, staff gave us a visitor map and exclusive locations that locals love, so we wouldn’t be stuck with just the tourist attractions
Sarah Brazell
Unfortunately we have not had the best experience at this hotel At $450 a night, we had hoped for parking, a place to eat in breakfast, a nice pool, and a comfy place to relax but that’s just not the caseThe pool is very small considering the size and cost of this resort, full of screaming children
and very few places to sitFor breakfast, you’ll need to leave the property and go across the street or down to the casinosWhile the beds and the patio were very comfortable, the pull out couch is very outdated and extremely uncomfortable to sit and relax on Especially for a couple not using the pull out bed in the room All of the furniture in the room seems too large, making the room feel smaller than it actually is We had a one bedroom king suite in the dining room table took up the entire kitchenOur last complaint is about the parking If you’re not a member or owner of the Hilton resorts, you are required to park across the street and down the block We had a lot of expensive gear in our car and felt unsafe in doing so Our keycard ended up working for the owners parking lot but it’s packed to the brim by 10 PM each night and impossible to find a spotI do have nice things to say about the bathroom, with 2 doors and a really nice water pressure in the shower, it was enjoyableOverall just a really disappointing experience for us for the amount we paid

I really wanted to give the new owned Hilton Grand Resort 5 stars! This resort is our go to for the last 6 years previously known as the Diamond Resort International I want to Applauded the housekeeping staff and the maintenance staff The sense of urgency they have to help keep this establishment clean is very noticeable
The restaurant and bar is always a hit Happy hour is a most! The issue we had was with the front desk I hope they get the right training on how to print a receipt, how to give the right amount owed and how to use the credit card on file when we first checked in Not sure why someone would be working the front desk when they have no idea how to use a computer Management needs to help these employees get the right training It’s very frustrating to know that there is absolutely no type of knowledge behind them Especially since they are the first people we communicate with and the last once checked out I am a Hilton Honor member for many years and never have I’ve been so frustrated I tried to be very understanding but when my time is wasted and they don’t seem to have a sense of urgency to fix the issue, that’s where i have to put my foot down I really want to give them another opportunity to get it right Hopefully next year it goes smoother

What a wonderful and quaint place to stay in Lake Tahoe I absolutely loved our stay in Black Bear Lodge The staff was friendly and attentive
There are so many little things about this place that really make it shine Small touches like fresh flowers from their garden in little jars to decorate the main lodge, to the chocolate on your pillow at check in, and complimentary glass of champagne Our room was comfortable, spacious, and clean It is convenient to attractions but far enough away that it is peaceful and quiet We took scooters back from town and it was a five minute ride I would highly recommend Black Bear Lodge for couples looking for a romantic getaway or for vacationing families (they had several cabins outside the main lodge that were ideal for families)

Stay Away! If there is a youth hostel, homeless shelter or cardboard box on the side of the street stay there instead of this dump We stayed here several years ago when it was Embassy Suites and it was very nice – it is obvious that the ownership has done nothing to upkeep the hotel and lost their Hilton franchise Love 💗 popcorn ceilings? You’ll love it here! Love paying $500/night for hotel where they WILL NOT (even if you request) give you daily housekeeping service (in the name of COVID) ? You’ll love it here! Love stained, grey towels thin as the toilet paper? You’ll love it here! I can go on and on
Just a overpriced dump Don’t be fooled by their “free breakfast” as it’s scrambled eggs and oatmeal and everywhere around the buffet is gross You’ve been warned!

We needed a place to stay after coming into town late after a change of plans Didn’t realize until the last minute that the rate on their website didn’t show more than $70 of fees, including a $35 “resort fee” At that point, we just needed a place to stay, so we committed
Turns out, the fees don’t cover parking ($29) or breakfast ($23)The “resort” is dated, and the amenities are lacking Our suite was spacious and clean, but the shower had low pressure and fluctuating temperatures For some reason, our suite on the 7th floor was overly warm even after we turned off the heat and cracked the window the two inches allowed We didn’t pay for the breakfast, but from what we saw, it’s nowhere near worth the priceOnly one person was working the front desk, so check in was slow The clerk didn’t help matters by answering simple questions with overly detailed responses Fortunately, we didn’t have much luggage since the bellhop was MIA, and guests aren’t allowed to use luggage cartsOn the plus side, the hotel atrium was lovely However, it’s nowhere near good value for money I would have happily paid more for something better

Staff was great and rooms were cleanSo many people and kids (I guess 10 to 15) at the pool Hence taking a star out
Total people maybe like 25 in a small area Since it was cold everyone was in inside areaHotel made a special time slot 10-11pm for adults but I feel it they could make a bigger pool I left within 5 minutesRest all was great If you are not planning to use pool, I would recommend itTip:They give discounts to CA residents sometimes if you book from their website
