A beautiful place to stay! It was so cool to stay on park point, the view of the lift bridge from our room was great I have previously stayed in canal park but will stay at this place moving forward since it was more low key and in my opinion nicer rooms The staff is fantastic – I accidentally left something behind in my room and gave them a call to discuss the situation

The person in charge of house keeping found my item shortly after and the manager at the front desk set everything up to ship my item back to me! I am really impressed and will be sure to stay again when I return to Duluth Highly recommend

Robert Riggs

Very disappointing This room cost $350 a night Paid extra for a harbor view (parking lot and boat slips)

The room was smaller than one at My Place which costs 1/3 as much, and includes a full size refrigerator and stove burners Take note of the pictures I posted The stain is from before I entered the room What I kept forgetting was I was in a Motel 6 maskerading as a Marriott No room service, no kleenex, a few sheets of toilet paper, no plastic water cups All these things had to be begged for at the front desk Of course everything was blamed on COVID Getting to be the optimal excuse for corporate incompetence and greed The manager said they can’t find help I went to several restaurants that seemed to have the employees they needed The reality is they won’t pay help Don’t waste your money, stay away from Marriott

curtis thompson

I’ve stayed at Marriott properties from Aukland to Aberdeen and the service at this hotel was awfulWe arrived very late, about 2:00, after being stuck at the airport and having a weird, cold and uncomfortable cab ride When we picked up the phone by the door the young lady at the door insisted on checking if we had a reservation before letting us in from the cold

Safety? No When I asked her if to they had rooms available for people without reservations she acquiesced and let us in to be hotel Terrible first impression Then we had to wait 15 minutes in the lobby because the system had to rebootThe property is nice but the staff obviously needs some hospitality trainingNot a fan

Historic hotel meets an updated shopping experience! First time staying and was blown away by the awesome history and wonderful hometown shopping with quaint boutique shops with local fare Dog friendly also! Right on the lake Had dinner at the Boat House and the food was handmade and absolutely delicious! Plus the view of the lake was breath-taking! Then spent some time at the spa and had one the best message I have ever had! The spa is wonderful

Lunch at the Mexican restaurant before leaving, again, the food was delicious!

All I can say is WOW Hotel is very clean and updated The staff is 110 %attentive

They go overboard to make your stay pleasant The breakfast is opened on time if not early for any early birds that may be around getting an early start Great food and plenty of it The prices are very competitive with the other hotels in the area Located in a great area that gets you close to the attractionsIf staying for a length of time, be prepared to be treated like family Even with folks on short stays, I notice the staff treating guest with professionalism and even going above and beyond with helping you with any needs that may arise I needed an envelope and stamps, they were out of stamps And I was given one from there own personal possession to help me get er done!!! This staff as a whole is awesome When I return… this is my go to place Thank you Hampton Inn

Becca at the front desk was a treat to work with – planning a special surprise for us on arrival She sprang to action and made it so easy! That service is rare, but so appreciated when you get someone who truly cares about crafting an excellent customer experience! We’ll recommend this place to everyone we know who stays in Superior!

The wife and I came back to Duluth to experience Lake Superior when it was warmerWe had a really clean, comfortable room with a nice view of the lakeThis was the first time we stayed here, but in looking at the building during our time at the nearby beach, we decided we liked our room with no balcony over the rooms with a balcony as we felt rooms with no balcony had better views of the lake

With it being our first time, I had a lot of questions of the hotel staff and they were very patient with meThe one negative was our room didn’t have two chairs of the same type, but that could have been due to our getting a two queen bed room We had to get that kind because a king bed room with lake view was not available when I bookedWe will definitely come back if we have the chance

Catherine Glancy

My husband and I stayed on April 10th and had a wonderful night! Carrie was the super sweet front desk attendant who found us the perfect room, close to my sister’s room Lovely views of Lake Superior and spacious rooms with comfy beds is how I would describe our stay Only complaint is that we slept in and missed the breakfast that sounded delicious

Yasmin Banishoraka

We live in Minneapolis and love to go to Duluth to visit friends, and Canal Park Lodge will always be our go to The view of Lake Superior is phenomenal and we woke up to a beautiful sunrise from our Hotel Room Additionally, the staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a pleasant stay

After we left, we had left two items in our room and we called and they shipped our items to us and they arrived within 3-daysFriendly Staff Clean Hotel Beautiful view of Lake Superior

A lot of construction was ongoing when we were there, but look forward to seeing what the place looks like when it is all done Looks like it is getting a nice new face lift!Staff was very nice Rooms were decent

Gave me a place to lay my head at night at least Big pool area and the kids seemed to enjoy Restaurant was alsonpretty good Their fish and chips were delicious Great place to stay if you want to visit the Duluth area and avoid the prices and traffic of the downtown Very easy and quick drive to downtown Duluth as well There was a nice little beach just down the street as well I do recommend and will likely be staying here again!

Mitchell Alexon

Ordered their special in the restaurant and despite not being much of a fish eater I would order that again!! 10/10 best fish I’ve ever had 😋WARMED POOL, Hot tub and an even hotter sauna! Cannot go wrong taking a dip in any of themHad a blast throwing some darts in the bar at the end of the night

The shower in the room is a little shorter than the average person So a slight squat was required :(And the breakfast was very disappointing

Adriene Daniel

Dan Powers

This hotel is tired and needs a remodel It shows it’s age in some areas I made a reservation for one king bed room and I got a room with 2 queen beds

The vent on the bathroom ceiling was dirty The lampshades had stains The TV had a lot of streaks on it Breakfast was somewhat ok I have been to a few other Holiday Inn Express hotels and they were all above average and I was expecting the same for this one Not the case No housekeeping services, just a little note on the card holder saying to leave trash and dirty towels in the hallway The hallway was lined with trash and towels waiting to be picked up Not very visually appealing at all I didn’t even get a thank you when I checked out She said “room number?” That’s it I gave it one extra star for comfortable bed Not worth the price for what I paid for!

Mike Durenberger

It’s clear the main amenity, housekeeping, is disappearing from this normally reputable hotel chain I stayed at this hotel for one night At first glance everything in the room looked good as you would expect, but the more I looked around, the more I wanted to leave

There were various hairs in the bed I had just turned, hairs in a towel and wash cloth, and the bathroom mirror had a large constellation of some kind of red sticky gunk sprayed on it It was late when I discovered all this and just went to bed The following morning I enjoyed the breakfast that was clean, diverse and well-stocked When I checked out I mentioned to the clerk the issues I had in the room She didn’t apologize or offer anything to make up for the discomfort I had during my stay, even though there’s a card in the room that guarantees a comfortable stay or they’ll make it right

Katie Wyman

The manager working the front desk this weekend gets all the credit for making our stay enjoyable! Housekeeping checked our room off as clean but when we checked in it was not clean at all, the cleaning crew had left for the day so the manager cleaned the room herself, bedding, towels, bathroom, all of it! We waited patiently in the lobby while she cleaned and then gave us a discount for the weekend So appreciate her hard work Not the newest place but doing their best short staffed to make it clean and comfortable! Would stay here again!

My family stayed for 2 night here, very nice and clean hotel Every staff member we spoke with were so kind and friendly! Breakfast was great – had something for everyone And the pool was so much fun with the slide and the little splash pad area! My kids are already asking when we get to come back! Thank you so much for the great adventure, we will be back for more!

Jenny Hoffman

Called ahead to confirm that my son could have a few friends come and use the pool during our stay for his bday party At check in was informed no we could not have anyone in the room or pool that is not registered to the room And that pool time was only available with a sign in ahead for pool time and for 2 hours

So party was switched to another place Room cancelled Will not stay here or support this business Front desk did not believe I called ahead and was rude

The front desk staff was wonderful Welcoming, efficient, polite The room itself is clean and ample, lots of room, though little by way of clothing storage

The decor is a bit cheap and oddly placed, but sufficient for the price point Nice electronics, charging points, dimmable lighting The bathroom is great, accessible, well stocked with supplies, nice light, modern tub and shower, and spotless3 stars mostly because of the mattress It is hard as a rock, I’ve had softer accommodations in a tentIf you can tolerate sleeping on a stone platform, it’s a great little hotel and much more affordable than downtown Duluth or Cabal Park hotels

kay thies

The room was extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable and loved the soaps and lotionsThe breakfast was excellent, and you felt very safe and comfortable while eating with plenty of space without close contacts The front desk gentleman were very accommodating with information, both with checking in at night and the morning gentleman

Coffee and hot water for tea available all night Best of all the exercise room was open all night I could do my walking in there instead of outside in the 4degree weather We enjoyed our stay after traveling 14 hours in the snow and wind

ShyIntrovert D

The vibe as we walked in was amazingly friendly I liked the friendly staff at the front desk, we were able to hang out in the lobby playing games and buy food at all hour’sWe were there for 3 days and it was very nice and quiet

I would stay there again It was cool to see a glimpse of Lake Superior from our window, see the fog and clouds come up from the lake

Ben Horne

My family stayed for a week and had an enjoyable experience We had a suite on the 3rd floor, with a king size bed in the main bedroom room and two doubles in the room closest to the hall Our room had a terrific view of Lake Superior with a nice little balcony

It’s an older property and could use some updating You can really see the age in the bathroom and furnishings in the room, but was clean and comfortable They offer a hot breakfast with a standard offering of scrambled eggs, rotation of potatoes and/or sausage, and waffles The also have an attached conference center, which could be very useful for business travelersThe staff was pleasant, but shied away from engaging with us unless asked a direct question Could be that they see so many tourists that they may be experiencing a little burn out Grandma’s Marathon was the week following our visit, so they could be focused on that as well Either way, they were professionalThe real selling point is its location You’re right in the middle of everything with most of the shops and restaurants being within walking distance You also have access to the excellent walking path that runs along the lake If you’re staying in Duluth, they are definitely worth a look

sarra torborg-johnson

Our family has visited this hotel several times over the years – it used to be our favorite one to stay at in Canal Park However, with our visit this weekend, the steep decline in upkeep and service was evident the moment we arrived It is clear they are not investing in the upkeep of the building and furnishings

room only moderately clean and quite run down others in our party had mold in their rooms (1st floor) The buffet used to help justify the high price of this hotel, however, the buffet was only about 25% of what it used to be not as many options offered, staff was not quick to refill during breakfast hours, ran out of many items certainly nothing special any longer This hotel used to have a luxury quality to it happy hour in the gathering space, sometimes live music, extras here and there this is not the case any longer To top it off, the night security staff is rude, aggressive and one of them seems very off staring at guests, going into women’s bathroom unnecessarily, entering hotel rooms during his shift, and lingering around young girls repeatedly (in hot tub and hallways, etc) I reported this, and was assured he was leaving that day, only to find him back at his shenanigans the next evening We felt very unsafe and feel the management is not addressing an issue that needs to be addressed here

Room was clean, quiet Breakfast area bright, beautiful view and roomy Breakfast was a disappointment

2 mornings with no sausage, eggs or potatoes Just cold cereal, sweet muffins etc Also no knives There were 2 people in the breakfast area that appeared to not be too busy The day they did have scrambled eggs and potatoes they were barely warm Don’t advertise what you don’t serve For the money the breakfast was a huge disappointment

Wow, this place is beautiful!! It is very clean, the staff were welcoming and the views of Lake Superior (especially when ships were coming in) were perfect Plus, this location has underground parking (first come first serve) with no additional fee!My husband and I did splurge and got the penthouse view/Suite, and it was worth it! Very spacious, clean, and it has a private balcony, plus a jacuzzi in a separate room that overlooks Lake Superior (but far away from the shore, so people won’t see you)I can’t wait for when we can go again!

Fry Logna

My wife and I stayed on the third floor with a lake facing room over Easter weekend and it was absolutely amazing (The views were breathtaking and a huge reason we selected this establishment) That being said the room was very clean and well kept and everything you would hope for in a room

While staff contact was minimal for our stay they were always super friendly and more then happy to accommodate any request/question we had An added bonus is they have under ground parking which is a lovely bonus as we could park and take an elevator right to our room and didn’t have to worry about heating the car up the one day it snowed 10 out of 10 experience with Beacon Pointe and would recommend this to anyone looking to be captivated by stunning views of Superior and a cozy rcute room!

We were trying to find a place to stay in Duluth After reading review after review about dirty, understaffed hotels we decided to roll the dice and try staying hereGreat choice! It was great

The desk person was very busy, but they were always helpfulParking was fantastic because all the rooms are about thirty seconds from the front doorIt was super easy to get back and forth between Beacon Pointe and Canal Park—on foot or by carBeautiful viewsExtremely nice pool area It’s a small pool, but it was very clean, everything was the right temperature, and they have a sauna, hot tub and poolWe will be back!

A real special treasure set immediately on the gritty Twin Ports waterfront Great views A fun blend of Great Lakes industrial and North Woods cabin

Someone took a lot of time to thing through the details of design, materials and amenities Very funStaff was pleasant and helpfulRooms were comfortable and hip

Philip B

Nice hotel with great views of the lake Excellent staff who were kind and courteous They kept everything neat and orderly

One thing is the rooms with balconies that over look the harbor are not private :/ It’s nice sometimes to have secluded outdoor space when trying to relax and focus on emails But overall would come back again 🙂

First time visit The overall impression was very good Check in could have been more informative about how breakfast worked

Had dinner reservations & the hostess was grumpy She tried to sit us at a high top in the corner next to the wait station in the bar area & when I told her we didn’t request a high table her response was snotty that a reservation doesn’t offer us a choice of table but sat us near the window in the lower area I wouldn’t go back even though the food was satisfying Our waitress was busy and didn’t check in with us enough My biggest issue was the hot tub Should be adult only Instead it was a kiddy pool with floaters Gross & disgusting what goes on in there Not a feature that interested me Should have had both fire pits open but instead only 1 and I’m not interested in sitting with strangersOnly real positive was our view from the room It was amazing

The Endion Station was originally in the Endion neighborhood, but moved to this spot and preserved It has served many functions since then At first it was touris information, then it was a cafe

For a while it was a sporting equipment store, with bikes and kayaks Then I believe it was a restaurant for a short while, until finally ending up as this Inn

Better than staying in the nearby hotels The rooms are modern, very clean, and cozy Rates when we stayed were lower due to the construction on the shore but we were gone during the day so we didn’t mind at all! Parking was convenient, even with the construction

If you have an electric vehicle the free chargers are right in the parking lotWill definitely make this the first place I check next time I’m booking a place to stay in Duluth

I was in Duluth for a conference This hotel did not disappoint Located next to the left bridge and canal park, great for not having to drive anywhere

Service was prompt and friendly I had two different rooms (one with and one without a balcony) for my stay and the transition from room to room was easy Both rooms were clean up on entry Stay came with breakfast It was a decent breakfast, I was able to pick up biscuits and gravy, sausage link and eggs with cheese Hotel has a pool with a spa and a small fitness facility This hotel is kid friendly, pets are not allowed Also, cleaning service is not daily, but you can leave a hanger on your door to request it if needed I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Duluth and want to be close to Canal Park and the convention center

This was a great place to stayThe lake view is 5+ starsThe rooms are nice, clean, and up to date

Staff were friendly and helpful Breakfast options were ok Not bad but okI give it 4 stars because of the price For the price I would have expected more comfortable beds, nicer pool, and a much better breakfastDo get me wrong, this is a great place with great views I just think for two queen beds at $400 for one night I expected a little more comfort

My partner and I stayed here 2 nights and it was definitely the best hotel experience we’ve ever had I have pretty bad diagnosed ocd, and going to hotels can be incredibly stressful because I am very afraid of contamination This hotel is exceptionally clean, which was my biggest fear with this trip

Every surface in the building was very clean and looked modern and welcomingHighlights:-Extreme cleanliness-The hotel was very quiet, we rarely ever even heard other people from our room It almost felt like we were there alone despite a full parking lot-Breakfast was amazing They have good quality food and they don’t pack up right away when it closes, so you don’t have to worry about getting down there early They continued to refill their food even up to and past their breakfast closing time-Felt very safe My partner and I are a visably queer couple and we never felt unsafe in this hotel The doors also have deadbolts, stoppers, and peep hole covers Room doors automatically deadbolt and are pretty heavy-Big bathroom and shower Overall everything looked very nice and felt high qualityDownsides:-My biggest thing is that they don’t give you a lot in your room You get 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 bath towel, 2 servings of coffee and 2 cups, along with some bags The room comes with some nice things like large bottles of soap in the shower, your standard iron, etc But you’d think that when booking for 2 adults for 2 nights you’d get more than 1 towel and 2 cups If we would’ve stayed longer then we would’ve needed to constantly ask the front desk for things You can request room service, but it has to be before 11 am They really don’t provide you with a lot-The bed was a bit hard and I would’ve preferred more supportive pillows, but you can request extra upon booking-Pretty lightweight bedding We requested an extra blanket and was given one that felt more like a foam pad?? It was weird Bring a weighted blanket if you need any kind of physical pressure to sleep-Not a lot of room storage One small closet and 2 dresser drawers total in the room-The fitness center looked nice and they do have laundry machines But the pool is lacking It’s incredibly small and shallow and there’s no hot tub I can’t imagine anyone going there for fun or exercise – honestly I’m not sure what the point of it isOverall it was an incredibly pleasant stay, and we will definitely be staying there again I would’ve really liked if they offered more, but what they do offer is of high quality If you’re looking for a safe, clean, and comfortable place to stay I would recommend this place 🙂

Really lovely rooms and in a great location Very easy to walk to anything in the downtown area The gym, pool, and other amenities were well taken care of, clean, and a nice to use

The parking is in a public parking ramp around the backside of the hotel, they do validate parking, and you can take the skyway over to the hotel from the parking ramp I definitely recommend staying here!

The actual room was really nice and comfortable (appeared recently remodeled), but there was a machine-like noise that kept happening every couple of minutes (it sounded like something winding up following by a double bang) It was definitely annoying but not worth it to ask about moving to a different room The staff were very friendly, so I’m sure they would’ve been happy to help had I contacted them to remedy the situation

The area around the hotel has really declined and it definitely feels a bit sketchy There’s not much that the hotel can do about this, I suppose, but it would be nice to see some security patrolling in the ramp and skyway (The last time I stayed here, a family was scrambling because somebody broke into their vehicle through the window) I haven’t experienced any security issues firsthand, but I definitely don’t feel completely safe and confident when staying hereThey’re certainly doing the next that they can with the things that are within the hotel’s control, but I must admit that it makes the ~$200-300 cost per night a difficult pill to swallow
