We spent the night here on our way down to Galveston The front desk staff was friendly and check-in was easy However, the tile in the entryway/bathroom was very slick—almost like ice skating, and the room was humid

The bed was comfortable and clean, and the temperature/humidity got better after adjusting the AC Ultimately, we had a decent stay for a good price

Cortney Eudy

I am giving this location a 1/5 star because when we arrived we were not put in the correct room as booked due to property issues The lady at the desk assured us we would receive a refund for the night that we didn’t receive the correct room (They moved us to the correct room the next day) We paid way more for the room we booked then what we received

I have contacted property multiple times to discuss why we haven’t been refunded The employees I have spoken to have promised the manager will call me every time I’ve called and he/she never does We will make sure to stay next door next time we are in the area

Room 207The room is niceThe beds are comfortableA few issues though

The plumber that set the toilet didn’t shim it so it rocks on the flange and cracked all the caulking at toilet base It’s getting nastyThe exhaust fan in the bathroom doesn’t workThe A/c works but is minimalSomeone’s car was broken into on the north side parkingThere is no lighting or camera on the north sideAs mentioned in other reviews housekeeping could actually spray and wipe more surfaces It’s not hard to see doors and handles etcHousekeeping does good in other areasWe have stayed here before and will be back

The best hotel stay I’ve had in a long time! From check-in to check-out everything was wonderful! Every member of staff (front desk, maintenance, the woman who does breakfast) was extremely kind, helpful and welcoming! The linens were crazy soft, I didn’t want to get up! Both elevators were functional and very quick which is rare these days and so appreciated The rooms are very spacious and include a full size refrigerator/freezer, 4 person dining table, and full size sink There are so many great breakfast options-hot or cold

Plenty of parking even at night and well lit Even though the hotel is located right off a major interstate the sound of vehicles was never heard from inside the building10/10! Love this Home2Suites and will be back!

Rabig House

I am super close to giving 5 stars because I loved my stay here! We were greeted kindly, the room and hotel were clean, the amenities were outstanding and the patio was fun and relaxing Smoking was allowed on the patio and for me that’s a negative The laundry facility is expensive so that is a bummer

The bathroom is tiny But the staff were nice The fitness center was well stocked The cleaning service was thorough and timelyI will definitely stay here again!

Alexis Sheeds

Me and my 4 year old stayed 4 nights here and we LOVED it! My son ended up getting super sick for 24 hours and the staff was amazing, brought me clean towels, sheets and blankets several times within that 24 hours and they were always super friendly and helpful Never made me feel like I was asking for too much! (Because I know I probably was) The breakfast was awesome too, wide variety and I don’t usually like hotel coffee but the coffee was really good Definitely recommend this hotel!

Worst experience ever!!!!! Walked in and the hotel smelled like garbage They had dirty mattresses piled up in the lobby Went upstairs and checked our room and found bugs in the bed and stains on the sheets

Towels in the bathroom also had stains on them Went downstairs and spoke with the owner about the issue and he refused to do anything about or offer another room He refused to give us a refund Had to find another hotel nearby Don’t waist your money going to this dump I don’t have a choice to give no stars but if I could this place would get zero stars

Joslyn Short

Don’t stay here 1 star is too many for this place Incredibly unsanitary, bugs on the beds, smells awful, stained towels and sheets, 10-12 dirty mattresses piled in the lobby

The owner refuses to refund the money pushing it off on the booking site…then refused it through the site Said the room was not in the condition we stated I have never felt more disgusting being in a room Rude and terrible business Worst experience ever Owner didn’t even try to make things better Exterior is falling apart as well It’s beyond disgusting

Kristen Welch

We chose this hotel because of the indoor pool On arrival the pool was cold and the spa tub was cold also Jets didn’t work either

The rooms are outdated and the pull out couch, well that was horrible We pulled out the bed and it looked as if they hadn’t cleaned or changed the bedding on it for about a year The sheets were even rusted Breakfast was not good Eggs were like a jello mold in shape Juice machine was out The staff was friendly I will give them that The smell in the hotel was not good I think it was someone coming in their room or something, but it was throughout the whole hotel and at the front desk Overall I’m very disappointed in my cost to stay at this level hotel

This park was one of our recent favorites It’s in a great location, the staff are really accommodating and it’s super clean We travel about three months every year in our RV so have seen a lot of parks in our time and were really impressed with the set up

The lot was big and we had plenty of space There’s lots to do in the area with Galveston just a short drive away, which is great for restaurants, shopping and historic house visits (one of my favorite things to do!) The facilities of the park were perfect for our needs and we would definitely recommend staying here for anyone visiting this area Thanks for a great stay!

Dixie Stone

We stayed in this park for almost a month and it had everything we needed It was a really affordable option compared to some others in the area, with plenty of room and some great amenities The bathrooms were really clean and the laundry on-site was a bonus

We are retired and travel full-time in the RV so these conveniences are a big draw card for us when looking for a place to stay We loved the location as it offered some great fishing spots and there was plenty to do in the area Kemah’s boardwalk was really lovely to stroll around, particularly at night The nearby restaurants were delicious and we ate plenty of seafood during our stay!

Great RV Park Near Two Railroad Museums! My husband and I love old trains and old train museums We’ve been plotting our way around Texas in our RV in a quest to visit all of the railroad museums in the state Bay RV Park was a gem with spacious sites, clean facilities and nice people

The site is about 15 minutes away from the Dickinson Railway Museum and 30 minutes from the Galveston Railroad Museum which was just perfect for us! Both museums were delightful and we even managed to take in some of the historic house tours on Galveston Island We planned for a two night stay and stayed for three – thanks for a welcoming base camp Bay RV Park!

What’s a mom To do

The front desk service had positive vibes right when I walked!! Which I love, Brandy at the front desk has the most beautiful and genuine smile that is comforting! I get mini vacas from the hubby just time for me to rest n not hear children for a few days I loved my room and love to keep it on 60 the whole time I’m here! I love the cold! I have been coming to this hotel for a couple of years now N I choose this one for different reasons

1 Because of the staff & how clean the room is n how comfy the beds are! 2 I leave 1 mile away so if anything I can run home real quick I love the staff and the free breakfast as well! No other hotel I would want to go to Just Comfort Inn & Suites! They are the best! And, if Brandy ever helps you, your very lucky She’s just the sweetest!

Walk in and it looks nice, but once I was in the room, the toilet paper holder was barely hanging on, the show head looked and responded like it was installed in the 80’s, there were holes in the walls, the smoke detector had a bright flashing light all night, the beds were folded in the middle so if two people sleeping they slept on top of the each other, the “included breakfast” consisted of microwaveable dry egg sandwiches and a few pieces of fruit, that’s it I stay in Comfort Inns all the time and this is by far the worst I’ve ever had the displeasure to stay in Did I mention the hair on the wall in the bathtub/shower proving they didn’t clean it properly

Stay somewhere else

Catherine Sorto

It was okay We got there around 4 am, and the front lobby person was not being very helpful We had 1 reservation with 2 rooms, and she was blaming me because she couldn’t find the second room and told me to call Experian at 4 in the morning or pay the upfront price for the other room

Thankfully she was able to find it after about 15 minutesThe breakfast is frozen sausage sandwiches you have to warm up, oatmeal packets, some fruit, and limited cereal (no milk at times) And a drink station COVERED in fruit flies and a coffee/hot chocolate machine that waters down the drinkThe lobby looked great, but the rooms were another storyOur rooms smelt like mold There was hair on our bathroom shower from previous tenantsTheir housekeeping crew is literally just their front staff, and they only clean your room if you request it And if you end up requesting a cleaning and sleep past 10:30, good luck getting back to sleep They call the blaring phone mad and practically screaming Good luck getting back to sleep after thatThe pool was over chlorinated and not cleaned well The door was rusting over on the frameProperty is not well managed at all especially for over $100 a night But it was a place to sleep near what we were doing So it was okay, but i would never stay here again

After a long day of walking, all I wanted to do was come into the hotel, shower, and rest Going inside, the staff almost succeeded in drilling a hole in my head from all the glaring they were doing Very welcoming

At least they let me know after I paid that there were no shampoo or body wash I brought my own, but what if I hadn’t? What about the customers who expected the hotel to have everything here? Anyways, as I walked into the room I was greeted with a bed whose covers must’ve never seen a washer before in its poor life It was filled with specks of fabric from the previous stayer’s clothes It was also stained with orange on some places too, it seems uncleanliness is a standard across all best westerns Did I mention the dirty windows and all the dust? Whoever they say cleans the rooms simply does not exist It was just dirty all over and not a pleasant experience Not even the beds were comfortable enough to save this disaster of a hotel Save your money and go somewhere where it will truly be appreciated, unless you want to sleep on pieces of someone else’s clothes and skin

Ricky Rodriguez

My experience with this hotel was awesome starting with me making reservations, I spoke with someone that spoke and understood English Since I have been screwed over before at other hotels, that was a big deal for me When I got to the hotel the staff was professional, friendly, and they spoke and understood English

The room was clean and comfortable, even though there was a used bar of soap by the sink and a used hand towel on the floor in the bathroom I will definitely be staying at this hotel againAs a k9 handler and trainer one thing I would suggest is for the Staff to be properly trained and up todate on the ADA ( American Disability Act ) service dog Laws and the new Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 785

There was a pint of ice cream in the refrigerator when we looked inside of itThe telephone did not workThere was no hand soap in the bathroom

The television remote did not work Switched remote three times before we could find one that would workWe were on the third floor, if we wanted ice, we had to go to the second or fourth floor to get iceThe elevators and elevator doors needed cleaningThe stairways were dirtyThe floors in front of the elevators were dirty, it looked as though they needed to be moppedThe staff was very polite and and the one receptionist was helpful in finding a remote for the television that would work

Collin Maki

You know, if it was not for the customer service I would had this a 1The place is ruin down and is not that wonderful I had 5 rooms and on one of them the door would not work when my team got back at 1 am

So they put them in another room till 6 amThe graveyard shift lady was a jerk and has poor communicationBut the manager took my phone call at 2 am and then took care of everything!! The other lady that was amazing was Trinity!! She works the swing shift 100% she made up for the lack of the place being updated Again, needs a lot of work but the staff cares and you can tell it starts with the management!!

Scott Adair

I would not recommend this place to anyone!! It is not clean! Our bathroom was so nasty!! Mirror had toothpaste all over it , shower had hair in it and just nasty, floors dirty in corners, coffee pot had crumbs all in the tray!! Elevators need to be swept! Rugs need to be vacuumed! Someone needs to learn how to clean!!I complained to front desk about the bathroom and told them to clean it!! Come back and it still was NOT cleaned!!I have NEVER been to another holiday inn that was this dirty!!

It was a nice stay The employees were very friendly and explained everything we needed to know Room was very clean and I liked that you can’t hear the noise from the rooms next to you

My kids were making some noise and you couldn’t hear it from the outside We had full size fridge and that helped a lot! The coffee was great but it only makes 2 cups , so if you plan on staying longer please bring more coffee lol Other than that everything was great

Greg Weaver

The room was supposed to be a queen If it was it was very small Other than that it was ok

The front desk person Denny was very rude We showed up a little early and she actually said that she was to busy the night before and sitting there playing on her phone Never seen anyone so rude to there customer If I could have found another hotel I would have Never had such a horrible experience with candlewood Very disappointing

Pros: Cheap, good location in regards to restaurant options, very nice front desk ladyCons: Dirty and mold was growing on the ceiling in the first room After 4 other rooms which even she was like

yeah let’s look for a different one, we did end up in a nice “clean to me” room Breakfast was 2 choices of cereal or wait in line to use the 1 waffle maker which I don’t think was ever actually cleanedOverall Impression: Huge motel than is quite run down and dirty with inadequate staff Would not stay there again simply because it wasn’t clean

Lynette Curnett

Unfortunately, we barely made it through the night First room we had was a MESS 2nd room was better but still not Great

The pool was lined with I’m assuming green algae Didn’t look good at all Although the Mural by the pool was very cool We were on the non smoking side of the hotel, and it was not obeyed They did not know who would have smoked, but the cigarettes I found Right outside our next door, doorand my face swellingsaid otherwise Had booked for 5nights, cancelled even before making it through the 1st nightThe hotel would get 0 starsBut the Customer Service was GREAT 5 stars!! Understood my concerns and didn’t hassle to try to get us to stay

We stayed here a year ago and it was fine This time however we were very unhappyThe hotel smells, the desk clerk is rude, our room has dead bugs in it

We kept our shoes on because the floors felt gross The vent in the bathroom was caked in dirt/dust The room was humid and everything felt damp The room seemed poorly cleaned and the pillow cases had stains Not worth the money We will definitely be staying elsewhere next time Too bad we can’t get a refund or we wouldn’t be staying at all

Dylan Clements

The hotel is fine for one night But there is something up with the rooms It smells awfully musty

Like mold or mildew I’ve really never smelled anything like it before But it’s almost like it flooded and they didn’t clean it or something I was so happy to get out of there and get on the ship 0/10 next time I will be spending the extra money to be at a big chain hotel The lady at the front desk was super sweet and accommodating, she honestly was the reason we stayed but the owner really needs to do some work on this property as it can’t be good for people to stay in places like this

Jay Medina

We had to find a hotel last minute during our trip to Galveston We (2 people) booked a king size room at this hotel for a reasonable price Upon reading the reviews afterwards, my concern grew

But upon arriving there, it wasn’t really so badWe enjoyed our stay since we needed a place to crash for the night before leaving for our cruise There was no room service or food offered, but that’s okay, as we ordered take out instead Easy fix The room was decent and the AC was cool upon entering Clean as well There was even a small coffee machine, which was definitely needed for the both of us!I do agree about the off smell as soon as you step into the hotel lobby I assume that it is mold/mildew So if you do have severe allergies, be aware Luckily this did not affect me or my partner during our stayThe girl at the front desk was very nice and accommodating We needed help with printing some documents, and she gladly assisted us with it We didn’t get her name but huge shout out to her for the help Saved us from a lot of trouble!I guess my only complaint during our stay were children running through the halls around midnight while we were trying to sleep But in this case, it is not the hotel’s fault, but the parents for not controlling their kids during these late hours Very inconsiderate

We sold our house in March 2022, discovered Oasis RV Resort (Ron Hover RV Dealership) in La Marque, Texas We stay until we moved into our new place in Galveston in late July (4 Months) The resort has plenty of space to accommodate large rigs with ease It has a nice pool and is most of the time not crowded

It’s quite, clean, and safe The laundry room, and rest room is always clean and tidy Kim H, the manager is definitely the key element in making this resort worth it She is friendly, professional, and attentive to the needs of all staying there Weather visiting for a weekend or plan to stay awhile you won’t go wrong It’s 10 minutes from Galveston making it a great stop! Houston is just 30 miles to the North One last thing, one would think that an RV Resort and dealership might be unconventional, but we never noticed it even being there

I attended school at UTMB and stayed here in my parents travel trailer at Ron Hoover for about 16 months I moved in alone, far away from my family, and was 23, Kim was such a big help from when my outlet was leaking water to when something would happen and I felt unsafe She would be very easy to get in touch with and would keep the park updated with information like broken water lines due to the construction on 45

All the staff keeps a good eye on the park and those in it About 20 minutes if traffic is good to UTMB and about the same for the beach The park near by is a cool place to check out! Monthly rent is better than anything on the island Pretty quiet I had many night shifts and didn’t have a problem sleeping during the day (they usually cut grass on Tuesdays)

I moved my 5th wheel into Valerie’s park in June of 2019 and lived in my RV until last Saturday (4/2) My only reason was I purchased a boat to live on for the next year or soThe park (inc restroom, laundry room and grounds) was always clean and well kept

Valerie was always available for her guests/tenants and always greeted with a smile Although always friendly, she is a no nonsense owner and requires everyone respect her facility This attitude is what kept me satisfied with the park for 2 1/2 years and is also what makes the park so appealingShould I purchase another RV in the future to live in, I will call Valerie and hope she has a spot for meJack Munden

Natalie Gonzalez

It’s a small quiet rv park, there’s a fishing spot, laundry mat, and showers you could use We stayed at this rv park for about 3 months, we stayed at spot B09 where the water is right out back Everyone we encountered were really nice

Unfortunately we will not be staying here again My husband’s work requires him to move wherever they send him at a drop of a hat, so we had mentioned that we could be moving soon to the park manager/owner(?) Valarie Ann so we started to pay weekly We were not made aware that in doing so it gives up your spot So she had booked someone in our spot and we had to move an early morning and waited for the people in our new spot to also move out We moved to the front of rv park that one of the neighbors stated “wasn’t a real spot” and they were right It was the worst spot but we decided to pay monthly which was over $500 a month in order to not go through losing our spot again The funny thing is work had us move out a week after we moved to the new spot As we’re getting everything packed up the manager drives up and says “you’re leaving after you made me go through all that?” Horrible people skills, we tried to contact the owner/ manager to see if we could pay for the week we had stayed and get some of our money back This was over a month ago, she never responded The park is fine the laundromat only has 4 washers, no change machine, while we were here only 2 machines worked because one of the machines was out of service and you couldn’t put change in the other one becuse it was too full and was never emptied You never see the owner, you can only reach her by text message The showers were disgustingly dirty, you could tell they were never cleaned We had a guest stay with us and they tried using the showers and we found a tampon on the floor which was never cleaned up There’s too many reeds to try and fish We’ll be staying next door at Galveston Bay next time
