We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back We stayed in the forest side cabin The only downfall to that

When you are on the beach, there are no restroom so it’s a long walk back across a busy street No trash cans, and very limited chairs close to the water line but a lot of chairs and umbrellas up in the beach further upOn the forest side, it was peaceful and quiet BUT we noticed the workers live in some of the cabins too, so they are not as nice and neat on the outside and a few junk piles around That side of the property could be a little nicer Our cabin area was great, lots of Cobb webs in the room, ceiling, corner and some spiders which I just cleaned with a broom Wonderful customer service was wonderful, easy to communicate and very accommodating The young kids working the water equipment work extremely hard and are super helpful

Adrienne Wilkerson

My husband and I came on our 20th anniversary and and couldn’t have been happier with our stay The staff were professional, friendly, and helpful It felt more like staying with family (in all the best ways) than staying at a resort

Staff helped us feel comfortable and welcome with suggestions on where to eat and where to explore The beach was lovely and restful, the rooms large and comfortable, and the amenities nicely done But what really put everything over the top for us was the AMAZING customer service We already booked for next year!

Janet Chism

The check in and check out was extremely easy and straightforward Texts all along the way about your visit were very helpfulThe room was immaculate, and had everything you would need in a housekeeping unit

The mattress was the most comfortable I have ever slept on Planning to call them to find out the make Very pleasant stay

This place is excellent! The 5-star rating doesn’t quite do it justice (I almost feel like we need a 6th star for “Exceptional”!) The room was super clean And despite all of the snow outside, it was warm and cozy inside

Breakfast was cooked and served by Paul and Mindy themselves and it was fantastic; best breakfast I’ve had in a while! And the hospitality that Paul and Mindy gave us brought our stay to a whole other level I highly recommend this place

Nick Mueller

Thank you Paul and Mindy for making our trip to Truckee truly special The B&B is located right across Donner Lake and we felt right at home The room was warm, cozy and very comfortable with views into the forest

Love it here Have a timeshare in middle of July The rooms are nice with a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths

Private beach access, with watercraft, and cabana rentals The property is family friendly but no pets Restaurants are on the expensive side, but the full kitchen allows for the option to bring your own food Relatively small casino with the typical slots, video poker, and traditional card games They do have drink service The casino has added some computer controlled games: blackjack, craps, and roulette if you don’t feel like playing with a human dealer There is a park across the street with tennis courts, a BMX course, skatepark, and disc golf There’s also a soccer/lacrosse field next to the properties which can get pretty loud on the weekends Parking is very limited to one vehicle per unit There is limited parking on the streets nearby

Such a delightedly stay at this quaint, mountain vibe hotel One of the best parts: very dog friendly They even provided a custom doggy bed for my dog and when we walked into our room, they had a big treat lying on the bed (which my dog enjoyed immediately)

I will also add the bar in the lobby was very diverse in its portfolio and even had custom cocktails It’s a full bar with good bourbon as well My wife had wine, I had bourbon, and they also have a full tea bar for the morning We are very thankful for the welcoming staff and hope to be back soon Cheers mate!

Karsten Feigl

Great hotel, very luxurious with clean spacious rooms The staff was incredibly friendly and helpfulThe hot hub, which is open from 9am to 9pm is a nice bonus as well as the complementary coffee in the lobby

We would definetly recommend stopping by, it’s well worth its price

Judith Anderson

Very attractive but expensive A shared soup, bread and chicken, no drinks, came to $100 in the restaurantI’ve stayed at a different motel/hotel every night for 28 days

This was among the cleanestIf the owners are serious about making the experience better for older folks they could make some improvements The table between the beds has only one phone jack and it didn’t work, even with instructions for a tub bath (impossible for me as I have bad knees) the shower mechanism had no way to turn it on, and no breakfast, unless one pays high prices Truly difficult stay

TLDR: Dirty comforter with bloodstain (!!), dirty toilet, clogged bathtub, couldn’t sleep for multiple nights due to bedroom fan and living room AC not working Report the issues and didn’t even get a ‘I’m sorry’ from the manager Gabriel Instead I got his attitude and fake charges on my bill

We didn’t even ask to speak with the manager, but Gabriel called twice and were extremely curt and rudeI’ve been a long-time customer and had stayed over many times before Employees like manager Gabriel is the reason I will never stay at the village again Front desk person Tori and Silvia were helpful, but ‘management’ personnel like Gabriel and horrific housekeeping is unacceptable For example, when housekeeping came to give the replacement comforter, it was literally dumped on the coffee table instead of leaving it in the bedroomWhen we checked out, Silvia agreed that we would be refunded 2 nights of the resort fee (out of 3 nights) for inconvenience like having no electricity in the middle of the night And yet, our credit card was still charged the full 3 nights of resort fee This is a shady business practice that requires me to waste more of my time to get my money back

This was an amazing place to stay and enjoy great scenery, relaxing environments, and great food We did not even go skiing or snowboarding and still had a wonderful stay Definitely eat at the resort restaurants as each one had some really good food

Lastly, being part of the Olympic Palisades, there are plenty of nearby a activities to do as well I plan to go back and bring my children as it is very family friendly

Desharia Hobdy

I stayed here for my birthday and it was nothing but relaxing and beautiful views I love the six peaks grill by the steak both Megan’s at the spa were amazing! I love the six peaks grill by the steak both Megan’s at the spa were amazing! Also Tyson who works in valet is such a hard worker had made sure my experience was amazing and helped me out whenever he could This company should be super grateful to have an employee like him

I genuinely will be staying at this resort again One of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life! I definitely be coming back in the future thank you guys again at squaw Creek! My only complaint would be make sure you bring your walking shoes because I didn’t know how much walking it would be and Ubers are expensive

Goomba Boom

The views are stunning, the land is very well kept and the outside area is seriously amazing I took off a star because of little things Our fridge didn’t work, the ice machines were empty, the vending machines were all empty, the spa was closed, and the room service wasn’t available

I think little perks like this give you that pampered experience If you’re going to be spending most of your time outside, definitely an amazing place, but if you’re looking for an extra special indoor feel, I would maybe consider somewhere else Staff were all really nice though

We were here over the summer and it was pleasantly not crowded and had some nice outdoor dining food options for the family They also have fire pits at night time where you can grab some ice cream and have a nice gathering around the skating rink area It’s an overall upscale resort area with bars and restaurants to make your quaint trip to Tahoe more memorable

Chris Modica

This is the greatest resort I have ever gone too, and I have been to many, MANY resorts I am a mountain biker, so I showed up in the summer to catch some of their lift-served downhill trails All of the trails are super fun, there is something for absolutely anyone

3 minute walk to several restaurants Quiet and restful night Loved it!

Our car broke down just outside of town Hauling three kids and a pet they gouged is on everything they could Including trying to charge us for a late checkout while we waited for our car to finish being repaired for two extra hours

Our rooms air conditioner was broken as well, making the nights stay even more miserable Indifferent unapologetic staff Overall a terrible (and yet still insanely expensive) experience

This place was really cute We booked last minute and was able to get a queen room You can only book through the phone, rates range and number available through their website

The room we got was really cute and freshly remodeled, the furniture and decor was absolutely adorable Very comfortable and the claw bathtub was also nice Good water pressure and hot water Bed was comfortable and I liked the sheetsThe inn got a historic oldish charm that also came with some challenges Know that you’re across the rail, so while it is nice during the day, the rail runs quite often even at night It woke me up several times a night even being a heavy sleeper No AC but lots of fans provided, though it was still pretty stuffy and hot at night because I closed the window to mitigate the noise a little The window was also really hard to open or close, but that’s understandable because it’s such a historical and beautiful place I liked the slanted diagonal ceilings but be sure to not bump your headFree coffee and muffin downstairs in the morning There’s a small kitchen and lounge area and it’s connected to the restaurant and bar

A rustic retreat in the small town of Tahoe Vista, with a small private beach and near many attractions (NV casinos, decent restaurants, boating, mini and regular golf) We’ve been coming here for years The rooms could be more up to date, but it is rustic, not modern

Service is available by request only Prices are mid range for the area If not getting a lakefront cottage, go for the forest side, better value than ‘lakeside’

Mrs. Sanchez

Stayed in room #15 and absolutely loved it! Super close to the water (wish we were on the beach but it was still very close) room was clean! We arrived late and they had no problem putting our key in a lockbox We stayed two nights and it was overall a lovely experience!! Very quite and a nice relaxing getaway wish we could have stayed longer Would stay here again and recommend it to anyone coming to Tahoe!

Giving one star is generous I hardly ever write reviews but this place is too awful not to This hotel is completely overpriced

The “concierge” service is absolutely terrible They are understaffed and all the employees seem to be fairly newThe power actually went out while I was here and my entire family and I (mind you, we have a baby and a stroller) had to walk up 6 flights of stairs because they couldn’t get the elevator to work The hotel is run by a bunch of 20 year olds who don’t have proper management training Don’t waste your time and DEFINITELY do not waste your money The food was so overpriced and was actually so bad There’s no other way to describe it It was maybe just a step up from microwave food Not to mention, half of the restaurants/amenities advertised on the site are closedOh and to top it all off, Marriott is using false advertising on the photos of the room The room we booked looked huge + had floor to ceiling windows (which is why we booked this place in the first place) and when we got here, the room was completely different When we bought it up to management, they just told us they had no other rooms and gave us some pity tray of macaroons and champagneThis hotel is a joke for what you pay Like I said, don’t waste your money

What a difference 6 months makes We spent New Years here and had an awful experience and swore we would not be back Prior to New Years we typically made day trips to the resort for food and drinks so we’re taken back by our experience when staying a few nights during New Years

However, we decided to give the Ritz another try this weekend to end our week long vacation in Las Vegas All I can say is, WOW!! Now this was the experience I expected from the Ritz!! I don’t know if it’s new management, better trained staff, or the beautiful weather…but our stay was excellent The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive Can’t wait to return

Erika Gardner

If you want a place to relax, unwind and connect with nature, this is the place for youThe resort is absolutely beautiful! I haven’t had the opportunity to stay there in the winter, but the summertime is gorgeous! The service is outstanding, the staff is super friendly, and the best part is that the hotel is pet friendly! The club lounge is a great place to have breakfast; Gus was so helpful; he gave us a lot of great information about what to do in the area#petfriendly#relax#unwind

This hotel is so so so wonderful It’s admittedly not for everyone but if you love places with personality, history, charm and a homey feel, this is the place Come here to get away, enjoy not being tied to technology and play a game of chess in the sitting area

The patio is wonderful to watch the snow fall or people watch and just enjoy the sights and sounds that make Truckee so specialThe bed is comfy, the staff is beyond lovely I can’t wait to come back ❤️

Emily Heard

Room was cute, but we couldn’t get into our bathroom Staff made us feel like we were stupid by just telling us how it worked but we actually couldn’t find a living person to talk to or show us Just kept telling us how everyone else could open it

so awesome that everyone else besides us could get in our toilet except us Finally got someone to show us and it was opposite of the written directions Bed also super dipped in the middle No fridge, few outlets, 3rd floor room with no elevator Pretty dang meh experience overall

Melissa Vennel (Spira)

I love old historic places Thos hotel was a wonderful mix of old and new I got a room with a bathroom (not all room have that, other rooms have a shared bathroom down the hall)

The room was spacous and clean, the bed was so comfy The bathroom was cute with its deep clawfoot tub The staff was welcoming and gracious, they made sure I was comfortable and had anything I needed I was even offered a glass of wine with my takeout dinner when I returned to the hotel I don’t drink, but that was a nice gesture I thoroughly enjoyed my stay Very restful Note: Because this is a historic building, there is no elevator and is not ADA compliant If you can handle that, I recommend staying here when in Truckee

I had to find a stick for physical therapy and he went out of his way to track down several items the hotel had that could accommodate my needsRecommend

Overall good Hampton inn, typical of my experience with the brand Location in Truckee was pretty good, just a few minutes to downtown or really anywhere in Truckee A Raleys grocery store conveniently around the corner

Breakfast was good each morning, was busy and yet food was never in short supply Heated pool was great for cool days, cleaned each morning Rooms were overall good, no issues and were clean Plenty of parking based on a holiday weekend stay

Great stay We loved the hot tub!! Laundry, fitness center, and free breakfast were all really appreciated Staff were great

You have to request room cleaning in advance as fyi or it reverts to every 4th day Not a fan of that but understand the circumstances Walkable to Raleys market and a decent convenience store at gas station next door The accessibility was great for the accessible rooms Although the king bed height did make for difficult transfer fromWheelchair
