The staff in this hotel was awesome! We stayed there one night with our entire family for a wake/ funeral, and they made sure our rooms were close together Jared is the sweetest front desk person! He took care of us with a smile They had flowers waiting in our room with condolences

❤🙏 I highly recommend this hotel Very clean, spacious, and a quality, full delicious breakfast

David Kraus

This location has been very busy during my stays It seems as though this is the norm All staff that I have spoken with have been professional and courteous

However, the facility is showing wear and tear that maintenance and housekeeping staff should address Most recently I noticed that the pool appeared cloudy Our room was missing utensils and a toaster The outside trash bins are often overflowing Pleased to see that guests are asked not to smoke near the doors or on the patio All Home2 need to enforce this policy

Aryanna Holmes

This was my first time staying at this location & I was not disappointed I stayed for a week I used the spin2cylcle and that was very clean

My room was spacious and super comfortable I even cleaned my room some more & I didn’t have to do much because it was pretty clean when I got there The fridge & freezer kept everything cold and it was big enough for all of my food I had all the utensils I needed & I loved the fact I got to cook in my room, that was awesome! My room was on the 2nd floor and I loved how I was next to the elevator & ice machine Very convenient!! I didn’t have a problem with noise I could barely hear anyone They had a small dog staying on my floor but the dog barely made any noise No complaints there I loved how the breakfast offered hot & cold options every day & 7/11 and Dunkin are less than 5min away walking distance I don’t drive so I was very happy to be on the bus line Everything is so close!!! I will be staying here again 🤗

I can’t even give half a star I booked a room with Priceline I arrived at the hotel at 10pm

Woman at front desk says there will be a 150 security deposit I let her know I did not have 150 she could keep my card on file she said no we dont do that I explained that I had 5 dollars and I was homeless and used the last of my money to book the room so I could get a cpl hours sleep before I had to go to work I would only be in the room till 3:30 am I have to be to work for 4 What could I possibly do to the room I that time She told me there was nothing she could do I said you can’t wave it or keep my card on file She said no I asked her to call a manager Needless to say an hour later still no manager had called back and i was without a room that i paid for How can people be so heartless and lack compassion The end result is Priceline refunded my money but it wont be back in my acct for a couple of days I will never stay at a marriott and make sure everyone knows why!!!! Please someone explain what I could have possibly done to the room in 4 hours I didnt even want to give a star but it makes you!!!!!

Had a great time there, the bed and pillows were spectacular We are actually looking to purchase the pillows they were that comfortable We had a great view on the 16th floor, had connecting rooms for my family

Are you okay they had valet parking and the self parking lot in the hotel The hotel had a nice special feature it was a bridge from the hotel to the mall so you didn’t have to walk outside

Ali Pharaa

Excellent location near popular spots and restaurants Rooms are spacious and comfortable Gym is massive and well equipped

Only problem is that the pool isn’t really a pool, more like a small water fountain filled with kids and their parents No possibility of swimming even if it was empty All in all great hotel for sightseeing and working out

Sayed Mousawi

80s hotel with a feel of early 2000s renovations The rooms are in desperate need of updating The place looks like a 80s time capsule

Bathroom is the only renovated part yet still needs upgrading The hotel staff are great the location is amazing They connect to the adjacent mall via a bridge which is very convenient I just still can’t get over how dated is the room/lobby areas are Not sure id stay here again if I’m ever back in Providence

My son had to have surgery in Providence He is a student athlete at Brown, so I needed to stay in Providence with him for a couple of days for his recoveryI arrived an hour earlier than check in

Ricardo was very welcoming and checked me in, but was unable to get me into my room yet He phoned me as soon as the room was ready He asked to pray for my son’s surgery and recovery Very niceWhen I needed to extend my stay, I inquired with management if I was able to continue in the same room, as to not have to move my son They were able to rearrange reservations so that he could remain comfortable I greatly appreciate the lengths that they went to make our stay stress freeThe fire alarm going off at 2am, and my son having to navigate the stairwell full of guests, from 6 floors up was inconvenient Then stand outside on crutches for 25 minutes However, we understood this was out of their control – but wasn’t even addressed at check out?Pretty location overlooking harbor Close to restaurants and Brown University We did not utilize the hotel restaurant

Joey Frechin

Views from the lounge are really nice Rideshare doesn’t necessarily know where to pickup with the gates blocking the path to the check-in drive, so just put your pin out closer to the road The fitness center is pretty lacking – one of the treadmills was broken, no sanitizing wipes, and no water inside

Room itself was good Kitchen is really convenient for breakfast, though one day my potatoes were pretty heavily seasoned and I couldn’t eat them Overall good hotel option

Michelle Osipowicz

The front end evening staff (Ricardo) as well as the bartender Lilly are wonderful! Room was clean cut could definitely use more lighting That goes for the hallway to to rooms also- felt dark One complaint I have which is really not that big of a deal is the music or Muzak they play in the lobby area… it can drive you insane

It’s very psychotic lol Also breakfast during the week be open past 9am for those who work late and sleep in a bit

I was looking to get away for a few days to slow down and reset The Beatrice was the perfect spot! The room offered amazing views of downtown, with oversized floor to ceiling windows I found myself reading and painting the afternoons away, with a healthy dose of people watching

The bed was extremely comfortable and the modern bathroom offered a lovely shower and warm soft robes It truly felt like I was being pampered I secretly enjoyed the rainy days because it gave me an excuse to relax in my room even moreThe staff was professional and warm, offering great dining recommendations and a friendly interactions The ease of valet parking further reduced any stress that may come from parking in the cityI definitely recommend The Beatrice to anyone coming to Providence!

David Silver

The Beatrice hotel is a hidden gem in downtown providence The valet Alberto greeted us promptly and was quick to assist us with our bags Upon entering the hotel we were greeted with happy guests and the most beautiful chandelier and mosaic

The decor alone doesn’t scream providence in the best ways possible The front desk team of Sydney and Olivia was everything and more A smooth greeting with such warmth made you feel right at homeKevin who was there in the evening helped with great suggestions on where to go He was just a delight overallThank you to Jennifer, the general manager who truly went above and beyond with her staff to make this getaway a memorable one

The Beatrice is a wonderful local hotel The use of space is brilliant and the integrity of the original historic structure has been maintained That’s what made me want to write this review in the first place

Integrating the old paper street alley to me was emblematic of the smartness and design throughout the hotel The rooms seem both warm and contemporary which is a hard combination to pull off I was delighted to hear that some of the artwork throughout the hotel was created in and of the memories of its namesake Beatrice It felt like I was in on a family secret Last – Bellini’s is really a lovely spot The restaurant wasn’t open when I was there but I did see inside and I’m looking forward to going back some weekend over the winter Excellent

Great stay at the Aloft! Really nice, new clean hotel with a rooftop lounge Exceptional staff who really care about their guestsAs a Titanium member, this hotel made me feel more appreciated than any other hotel that I have stayed at in the last few years

Eli welcomed me at the desk and made me feel like a really valued guest Yes, I appreciated the upgrade to the Jr Suite, but even more, it is the way he really cared about me He told me that he loves to take care of frequent travelers because he “knows it is travelers like me who keep them in business” – WOW! The rest of the staff were really helpful too I needed to stay another night, and they let me stay in my upgraded room without an issue And, I needed to send a fax – no problem to just bring it to the front desk The hotel is nice, modern, and clean – but even more – the people working there seem to care

Gary Barmore

The hotel is brand new and has a very modern design inside Be AWARE that this modern design style is very much apart of the room layout We had a double queen bed room that only had a very thin divider, that did not reach the floor nor ceiling, between the beds and the bathroom sink and shower

Nor was there a door of any kind to the shower area! There is absolutely no privacy whatsoever to take a showerThe front desk on the first night told us that was how all the rooms were laid out, but the next morning once the manager arrived they were able to find us a room with a door to the bathroom Even with the door the layout of the room was still somewhat poor in design They informed us that they are aware of the problems and are working on a solution I highly recommend checking your room out before you settle in to make sure it works for you

Mike Dombrowski

Nice hotel, clean rooms, fun lobby downstairs Overall a good stay but a few minor things can be improvedWe booked multiple rooms for multiple nights for a group of people

Very small refrigerator in our suite, a small microwave would have been nice (when we travel we try to visit local restaurants and usually have lots of leftovers/takeout) Fewer and fewer hotels seem to be doing this, but it is a small change that would be appreciatedAlso, Parking situation could be better Valet is over $30 a night, and often times when it is busy it takes a while (5-10 minutes or more) to get your car The ‘self park’ they recommend is fine, but every time you leave and come back you have to pay the full rate How about negotiating with that garage to get pay-one-price per day with full in and out privileges? Finally, we really liked the Brunch menu at the rooftop bar and wanted to try it, but it was only available for a few hours on Sunday only Expanding those hours/days might get more people to try it out

Please read if you’re getting married here, or having a large event – otherwise, nice hotel in a great location!- Poor staffing, hotel management provided no assistance for staff Fully booked hotel on NYE with only 1 person working at the front desk, 1 waiter for breakfast for the entire hotel – both leading to extremely slow/limited service Not fair to the staff, nor to the guests

– Worked with team before the wedding to clearly communicate information regarding welcome bags for the wedding guestsOnly a few of our guests received welcome bags (even after calling the front desk to remind them that our guests needed to be given one)- Guests from another event/wedding party received our welcome bags We saw a few people return their welcome bags to the front- Welcome bags had information regarding brunch the next morning, which very few people showed up to (but we were still required to pay for the anticipated amount of guests)- When the B&G arrived downstairs, there were other guests eating and drinking that were not from our wedding party at our private post-wedding new years day brunchRooms:- There were extremely limited amenities, which was unexpected The rooms are very simple & small- Check in at 4pm and check out at 11 am is just inappropriate Again, unexpected given that the hotel is utilized for weddings, large events etc- *An alarm was set on the alarm clock for 6am on my wedding day* it was beyond upsetting This should always be checked before new guests check in- No speaker in the room, very limited lighting (only side lights, desk lamp, reading lights- no actual room light)- Brides, there is no where to hang your wedding dress up other than the closet

Erica Rowe

Hotel is beautiful and in a great location Staff were friendly and we were lucky enough to get into our room earlier than check in Only downfalls: the room is temperature controlled, so the room didn’t get colder than 65, and the pillows were very thin

I always love super fluffy pillows at hotels, but sadly, not this time Oh and no jacuzzi

Abriana R

I don’t understand how this hotel & the Hilton next door are okay with up charging over $1000 for the same rooms, just one week apart Will my room come with a servant that night? Are they going to ensure my sheets are made of genuine silk and provide me with a solid gold shower? This is pure robbery Please book well in advance if you are planning to stay for an event or you’ll be charged what your monthly mortgage is for one nights stay

Fantastic experience here at the Renaissance Providence Downtown hotel from the valet, to check in, to check out One hundred percent recommend this hotel for all The valet is super nice and efficient

They manage your car nicely and always had it ready for me within fifteen minutes of my request The check in and check in processes were super easy Lobby and elevators were clean Rooms were beautiful and clean All amenities were available and room service was lovelyNow for my standard COVID comments as of April 2022 Not most if not all employees were wearing masks However, this didn’t take away from how clean the hotel was and the amount of decent social distancing

Goodness What to say

always a lovely stay hereWe’ve stayed with Renaissance at several different properties re: Marriott, and we’ve always received top-notch service This Renaissance is no different Perfect for out-of-town guests and locals alike Great location downtown, yet away from the hustle and bustle – right next to the State House and the VETS Auditorium, near the Financial District & Providence Place MallUpon arrival, you’re met with experienced valet service and whisked inside to reception Hotel staff is attentive, sharp to detail, thorough, and above all, warm – great pillars of hospitalityWe’ve been fortunate enough to be placed on the Concierge level with our stays due to our Bonvoy status, which is a nice touch The lobby smells fantastic, cleanly aromatic, as does the rest of the hotel Just kind of carries throughThere’s also beautiful architecture at this location, and nothing & nobody is pretentious – it’s just an obvious high standard of excellence that filters through every aspect of your stay here Highly recommend if ever you travel in/around Providence

My first time staying at the Dean I was pleasantly surprised Very chill, low key, barely knew anyone else was staying there There’s a lounge right off the lobby w a coffee bar and art magazines

My king room was larger than what I expected and the bathroom gave black tile realness So many windows and amazing natural light up on the fourth floor Will definitely come back to stay for a weekend This is by far the nicest hotel in Providence Make a reservation for North, the hotel restaurant, for a delicious and exquisite meal in beautiful, intimate quarters

Becca Leighton

the front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the room was cute with little personal touches However, after working my very physical job all weekend, I was hoping for a comfortable bed to sleep in and instead the bed was very lumpy and sunk down in the middle, especially on one side The shower was fun, but it is a rain shower head directly overhead and as someone who can’t get water in their ears, I had to be especially careful

The elevator is a classic lift, which is fun and terrifying at the same time (we didn’t quite understand how it works, as when we went on it the first time the hotel staff had to open the door from the outside when we got to our floor) so we opted for the stairs the rest of our stay I like the neon signs and lights and that they make an effort to be sustainable Overall a fun quirky place, but would love a more comfortable bed as that’s the main draw of a hotel room for us especially after a few long days of work

Mark Bezerman

Really neat hotel, super trendy with a distinct identity, in a good location downtown Walkabout to Federal Hill (Little Italy), and across the Providence River to College Hill Once you take the tiny old-school elevator up, you feel like you’re in for an experience

And you are! Room was super cool, super modern Would absolutely stay here again next time in town

I have been waiting to write this review for over 10 months! My husband and I had a hotel block for our wedding on 5/20, and Staci Johnson is the best person we had the pleasure of working with to ensure our hotel block and wedding arrangements were all set (manager of hotel) Staci is the definition of amazing hospitality! From the minute we contacted the hotel she was attentive and always willing to help! She made sure our hotel block could check in early, that our welcome bags were being given out and helped coordinate our after party activities/pizza We are so happy to have met such an amazing person with a great heart

Staci goes out of her way to make sure her guests are happy and comfortable Ben and I are excited to visit Sonesta Foxborough post renovation to see the great work Staci is leading It is hard to find employees like Staci who go ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure the guests feel like their big day is in great handsWe also LOVED Britany in the front desk, who greeted us and all of guests with a big smile and a warm welcome!THANK YOU Sonesta Foxborough (main shoutout to Staci) for helping my husband and I have the best hotel wedding logistics – we love you!G+B

We were told there was a working fitness room when we checked in There was a paper on the desk in the room that indicated it was ok to use It was being renovated

They also put a large hold on your debit card I stayed there in the beginning of July and still haven’t received the $100 hold they put on my card They said it can take up to 30 business days if you used a debit card, which was not told to me ahead of time The day of checkout, the front desk staff said I would receive the $100 immediately, which was incorrect Also, the place was a construction zone all over and we weren’t told this was going to be the case upon arrival Never staying here again

John Keefe

Would have been great to know that the lobby, the workout room, the pool, and every single thing other than the rooms were closed for maintenance Not to mention even the hallways were somewhat still under construction Didn’t have a walkout patio either cause I guess that’s another part of the construction

Went to go see what they meant by having breakfast there and the lady at the desk offered me a shelf of cereal boxes I could buy And the TV screen in my room that i was expecting to use for work doesn’t even turn on And for some reason you need to spend 10 minutes signing up for an account where you enter your personal info including your address and stuff and then go confirm your email just to get into their wifi (unless you have cellular data you cant even confirm your email) And the walls in the bathroom look like they’re falling apart and have black spots on them (idk what they would be, maybe deferred maintenance from moisture damage?)I mean, cmon man Seriously?

Centrally located in Providence, the Courtyard is in a small plaza near some shops and across from the park and mall Easy enough to get to (once you manage the disaster of a highway that is 95/195) and has an attached parking garage and some uncovered gated parking outside the lobby Parking garage is on the opposite street from the main entrance, but has an elevator that brings you up to the lobby

You have to take another elevator up to the rooms just past the lobby Parking is $30/night and a key card is used to get in that doubles as a hotel key card The machine/card was not working to lift the gates on our way out Luckily, there was a worker trying to fix it at the time and he kindly helped us get outGuest services were nice, but the manager was chit-chatting with another worker while he let a junior worker check us in Made it confusing while checking inWas easy enough to get into the room and the room had standard amenitiesGood AC,mini fridge, easy access for outlets bedside and near the TV stand, bed was comfortable, had a nice deep couch that would fit 2 easily or allow for one shorter person to put their legs up but not lay down fully, and a nice desk with pull out tray for workingThe place was very clean also The walls felt cheaply done though and could hear through them They used cheap/outdated wallpaper so felt like a cheaper motel The bathroom door and floor tile also had an old, commercial style The bathroom as a whole had paint chips, there was a crack in the shower tile, the shower head’s escutcheon was not adhered properly exposing a hole in the wall There was also plumbers tape hanging from the shower head connectionOverall, this place is only a step above a motel and serves as a clean and convenient place to stay in Providence You are paying for the location I spent $450 (with taxes+fees) for one night and only did because we were in town for a wedding I believe this price was inflated because it was a graduation weekend for several colleges in Providence I wouldn’t pay more than $200 to stay at this hotel again Disappointing to have the name Marriott associated with this location

You will be within walking distance from everything, the staff was super nice, and good room views Fair prices for rooms and $30 a day for parking The check-in parking area was a disaster during my stay

A few people were stuck and had to take Uber due to a blocked entrance at the front of the hotel May need a parking attendant and/or additional check-in only parking spaces at the front of the hotel

Jaymie Phares Marocco

Parking is not just expensive – it’s non existent if you’re car is over 6 ft tall They have a small lot on the top that people park in, and it was always full When I asked the front desk what we were to do, they said to park in an outdoor lot that was not part of the hotel, not secured and not easily accessible from the hotel

The room was dirty, and the only thing it had going for it was it was spacious It only fit the bare minimum for a hotel stay

A cozy and affordable bed and breakfast! I enjoyed the comfy bed and the quiet breakfasts in the sunny dining room The chef made wonderful dishes, like avocado toast and pecan bourbon glazed French toast One downside to staying here was that, while it is very close to downtown, it is not walkable—too many highways in the way! (But that’s the fault of city planners of old, not Christopher Dodge house

) Ride-shares into downtown we’re still <$7 when I visited, so this wasn’t a big problem

What an amazing bed and breakfast experience Simply cannot express how wonderful our stay is was The room on the third floor was so spacious and light

The comfiest bed with the softest sheets The hot breakfast was delicious and all of the staff were so warm and accommodating I cannot think of a better stay for such an affordable price If you’re coming to Providence, you MUST stay here!

The staff at this Marriott was exceptional! As a well seasoned traveler (3 million plus miles in the air and years of hotel nights) I notice attitudes and moods of employees From the front desk staff to the housekeeping, maintenance and restaurant crews, this group worked like a well oiled machine Everyone greeted me with a smile, went out of their way to chat and check on my stay, and otherwise made me feel at home

Kudos to the management staff who have clearly instilled a positive culture among the employees, who always were busy with some task, but never so engrossed that they couldn’t check on our experience Food was excellent as well! Well done!

If you like hanging by the pool this is a great place We spent most of our time there Our 3 boys (6,4,2) loved it

Rooms are ok, nothing special Gym is pretty disappointing Didn’t get anything from the restaurant If they spent a couple hundred on the gym it would go from a 3 to an 8 Need an Olympic bar 2 more 45 lb plates, new attachments for the cable machine and dumbbells that go up to 90 lbs

Hotel is clean and great location Staff at breakfast lounge was very courteous However staff at front desk was very rude

When requested for late check out they rudely said that it can be extended to 1 pm but you need to call in the morning When I came to room, I could not log into WiFi when I added room number and last name When I called front desk, instead of helping, they asked me do you know what is the last name??? When called in the morning, rudely indicated that they can’t allow late check out as they are busy They could have said this in better tone They definitely need training or need to replace them I am a Bonvoy member for long time and have respectable status (platinum) I do not expect this kind of service from Marriott brand hotel I will not stay in this hotel due to ‘BAD’ ‘UNACCEPTABLE’ front desk service

We stayed here with a block of rooms for our wedding The hotel is beautiful and conveniently located, but the service fell well below expectations, the hotel is showing its age, and it is seems to be poorly managed My wife’s family was treated poorly several times and it felt racially-motivated when compared to how my family was treated

My wife was asked by hotel staff to help clean one of her family’s rooms even as she clearly wore part of her bridal outfit My family was immediately and politely given an extra hour for checking out of our rooms, while my father-in-law was told he would need to speak to the manager to approve the same request, even when he mentioned that they were part of the wedding family The manager never called him back In addition, no one explained the very complicated parking situation to him even when he asked, resulting in a much higher bill that the hotel refused to address; meanwhile, my parking bill issue was resolved immediatelyThe hotel had mistakes on my parents’ bill and on my bill, so check carefully They moved my brother to a suite because of a broken, leaky AC in the original room, and then tried to charge us the higher rate without saying anything AC did not work well in many of the other rooms, including the bridal suite, and none of our showers drained properlyConsider using the hotel bar for the views of the breathtaking lobby but it’s probably worth staying elsewhereUpdate: the manager eventually called back and resolved the parking situation with my father-in-law while offering some credit While appreciated, the frustration remains

The bathroom was extremely small Certainly no room for 2 people and no room to put toiletries anywhere except maybe on top of the toilet We had a 2 room suite that was very nice

However, as my wife and I were talking at around midnight, we did get a few knocks on the wall from the people next door Must’ve been thin walls There was no valet parking but a parking garage a block away Nobody met us outside to assist with the bags The front desk was nice and told me where to park and when I walk back to get the parking receipt validated I noticed a sign at the garage with a max parking price of $25 As it turned out, I was charged $3560 for parking by the hotel Now that was pretty sleazy considering there was no valet service My cousin who joined us in another car paid the next day at the garage and was charged $19 for the same amount of timeBottom line, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel There are other very good hotels nearby

Shocked this hotel is so highly rated Maybe the history of the building has covered guests’ eyes with rose-tinted glasses, but this hotel should not be rated a three star hotel, let alone a four star hotel My heart sank a little bit as soon as I entered the hotel as the staff couldn’t find my reservation

They later found it (and charged me twice for it), and things only got worse The bathroom was very dirty (please do yourself a favor and don’t rub any of the surfaces with a tissue), and the AC only worked sporadically throughout the nightThere was an unfortunate incident where a lady screamed racist statements in the elevator and meaningfully stared at my room’s number I spoke to the front office hoping to get some action taken, but I received encouragement to try to find the lady’s room number The last thing I wanted to do was confront some clearly unhinged woman going on racist tirades I was hoping to at least get moved to a different floor so I didn’t have to worry about this lady, but I guess management thought this was just another casual event Speaks volumes about how you will be treated if something goes wrong! If this was the Hilton or Marriott I would guarantee they would do their best to make sure you felt safe and supportedAs far as the pros Their shampoo/conditioner is actually pretty nice and I loved that the TVs are adjustable I also definitely appreciated the historic nature of the building and the overall architecture, but I’d do yourself a favor and step into the hotel lobby, admire the view, and book yourself a different hotel
